Cast of Characters: Ghost Spider, Raven

Ghost Spider has posed:
    Darkseid is gone!

The proverbial mopping up of the remaining Parademons and hovertanks has begun and the literal mopping up of the ruined cities proceeds. In the continuing chaos, though, there was a becon of hope even while the Hall of Justice was under siege: the T-shaped tower of the Titans.

So comes this day to this bulwark of light in the darkness a small figure in a white, pink, and purple bodysuit, a white hood over her mask. She stops outside the lobby door and looks at herself in the reflective glass and then steps inside.

Raven has posed:
Raven, and most of the Titans, were absent from the final fight. Frankly, it's mostly the League's fault, as their proteges' safety is pretty paramount. She was, therefore, off with some of the others, doing something that didn't risk the presence of someone's demonic father, not naming names.

As such, she is spared most of the cleanup duty. The others are, too, but seeing as she's one of the ones that actually -lives- in the tower, rather than in some other city or building, Raven is almost ALWAYS here. It isn't long that the hooded woman is in the lobby before Raven herself approaches from an angle that seems impossible. Was she always there? Did she teleport? The answer is probably uncertain. What matters is that she speaks, in this quiet, monotone.

"Hello. Welcome to Titans Tower. What brings you here today?" It all sounds practiced and rehearsed, probably after various meetings asking Raven to say something more practiced, and rehearsed.

Ghost Spider has posed:
Gwen jumps back a good ten feet, away from the suddenly appearing Raven. "Ohmigod. Don't do that!" she says, putting a hand to her spandexy chest. But, she laughs at herself. "Sorry. Usually I know... how DID you do that?" she wonders.

A shrugs. "I guess you're not a danger, then. Good for you. I'm not pinging scary vibes off you, so great." she blathers on.

"Sorry. I'm Spider-Woman. I just came to see how things were getting on here and to come say thank you for helping defeat the invaders big bads. I saw your Wonder Girl on TV fighting Darkseid, even."

Raven has posed:
Raven offers a quiet nod. Really, if anything, it's because she's not actively looking to hurt Gwen right at the moment. Because Raven is, to coin a phrase, Hella Dangerous. She is also Hella Scary, though.

"I could just be in very good control of my vibes." Yeah, that's a genuine concern. Raven almost certainly pings as nothing. Which if Spider Sense was -that- acute, would be kind of weird. Probably a little spooky.

Raven does, however, come off as spooky outside of the 'Sense, though. "We're doing fine. However, tragedy has struck in that we have not been able to order pizza for a day or so, and despite her best efforts, Starfire has not been able to find a grocery store stocked with Mustard." Raven has been spending her time not doing cleanup buying, and disposing of, SO MUCH MUSTARD.

    "It's tragic."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"I guess." Gwen says dubiously. "I would probably know, though." and she smiles under her mask. Of course it's difficult to see, but not impossible. It probably looks more like a weird white grimace.

"Pizza? I've seen lots of pizza places open. I think some neighorhoods were keeping their little slice places open since they had ovens and stuff. Pizza's better than just bread anyway, right? If I had known I could've brought you some, though."

"Mustard?" she asks, a little surprised. "Like just the regular yellow stuff or like Grey Poupon or hot Chinese mustard? I mean, I could check some bodegas for you."

Raven has posed:
Raven is silent for a time. Legitimately, as Gwen goes through, there are little pings. Nothing for a long time, through the talk about pizza and places open and so on.

Then, Gwen mentions mustard, and searching for it, and for half a moment's worth of time, barely noticeable, Raven pings as dangerous. There is another moment of silence, with nothing on the Gwendar... Before she actually speaks up.

"Don't." she begins, "It's not important." That monotone is good at hiding lies. "However, if you compile a list of names and locations of open italian restaurants, We could use that. In addition to, obviously, saving lives and restoring saved lives to normalcy as much as possible." She shrugs, then, semi-impassive, but Gwen is something of a stranger, someone she's not heard of, as yet.

Ghost Spider has posed:
Gwen takes a step back, unconsciously. But the danger-twitch fades as quickly as it came and so she relaxes again. "That was weird." she mutters.

"I think the problem you're going to run into is the delivery. Noone is going to want to drive out here through the rubble and potential. But I could. I don't have enough money to buy a bunch of pizzas, but I can go pick 'em up for you and bring them back.

She laughs suddenly. "I wonder how many babies are going to be born in nine months, since people thought they were going to die?"

Raven has posed:
Raven nods a couple of times, starting to quietly pace within the room. "We can arrange for delivery, we do it often." she states, seemingly, momentarily, taking the logistics of pizza very, very seriously. She slips her arms from her pockets, offering this pensive pause as she considers several options. "Several of them may already have Beast Boy banned." she states, as if Gwen is now In On It.

"After the last thirty dollar tip for fixing the pizza, Starfire has been temporarily banned from doing the carryout on her own. We may have to send Robin." The idea of Raven actually GOING OUT does not occur to her. "Probably several hundred, but that's only a mild estimate." From left field, an answer to Gwen's question, because it totally deserved an answer.

Ghost Spider has posed:
"You did it before, right? Before..." and she makes a motion with a hand to indicate the outside. "... all that? It's not hard for me to get through but I wouldn't want to be in a car in the rubble and stuff for a crappy tip if I was a delivererer." she says.

"Pizza places have banned some of your members? I mean, does he turn into a pig or something and roll around in the pizza at their tables?" she asks with a laugh, clearly joking. Well, it _could_ happen.

Raven has posed:
"He called it the Aporkalypse. It was not as funny before. Now it is less funny to most." Her sense of humor is a little... Darker than it ought to be. Suffering -can't- be that amusing to her, right?

"And Star has been banned by us for a repeated set of mustard based infractions and inappropriate tipping. There are rules, but she wasn't able to restrain herself." There's a short pause, then, before she goes back to the previous conversation. "Either way, thank you for coming by, at the very least. We're doing okay here, for now. I don't know how Cassie is doing, because as far as I know, she was not supposed to be out there." Raven is assuming, but she has cautioned Diana in the past that if she's supposed to keep Cassie out of anything, just tell her -to go- instead of stay home.

Ghost Spider has posed:
"Alright. Well, I just thought I would check. The place looked good." Gwen says. "Sorry to have interrupted whatever you were doing before... something important, I'm sure. Or studying a spooky book."

"..."or pulling the wings off flies." she mutters under her breath.

"I'll leave you alone now. It was nice to meet you." she didn't get Raven's name, she doesn't think... but she didn't ask, maybe. She turns and heads for the door, keeping Raven in sight as she does.

Raven has posed:
Raven nods. "It's pretty great, I've been told." There's a momentary pause, then, as Raven's silence confirms the perhaps likely suspicion that she was, indeed, studying a creepy book. She wasn't going to SAY that, though, because then it'd just give Gwen ammo. And you can't arm your opponent in verbal judo matches that they never agreed to and weren't really competing in.

"We're sort of sparse at the moment. If you come back later on, I'm sure we'll have a few other people around. I'm sure in the next few days Cassie will be here."

She has to say it. It is in the rules, and she's been warned so many times about nice people coming to visit, in the monthly "Raven Please Stop Scaring People Off" stratehy meetings. It still takes a while, though, and if her voice held emotion, it'd say a lot. That doesn't make it any less true, though.

"You are welcome to come back, any time. I'm sure the others would like to meet you, and if you're looking for help, stop by... Any time."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"Well, I wouldn't mind meeting more people." Gwen says, stopping at the door. "It was nice to meet you." she offers, genuine.

"You don't look scary." she says, grinning in her mask again. "It looks good on you, the monochrome except for the little spot of color." and she touches her own forehead. "Take it easy." and she lifts a hand in a little wave before she goes.
