Date of Scene: 11 October 2017
Location: Foggy's Apartment - Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Foggy Nelson, Elektra

Foggy Nelson has posed:
It hadn't exactly started out well. First, the courier tried to deliver the parcel on Tuesday, but the doorman had an accident as he was playing with Mrs. Marbury's son's skate board. He had crashed into the desk, ripped his uniform pants, and broken two bones. When the courier arrived, the doorman had left a note, which was written on 'St. Vincent's Hospital New York' stationary, explaining the situation.

On Wednesday, the courier again tried again, but the number on Foggy's door had come off, and he had ended up trying to deliver it to Mr. Tomei, but the terms of the delivery were that it had to be signed by the intended recipient. Foggy wasn't home, so it couldn't be delivered. A note was left. When Foggy read the note, he called and arranged for delivery of the mystery package tomorrow.

On Thursday, the courier came, expecting Foggy to be fresh and ready. But of course, there was an issue with a client, and he had to go to the police station. He left a note for the courier, apologising and informing him of his whereabouts. By the time the courier got to the station, Foggy was back home. They had actually crossed each other, with the courier in his van, and Foggy on the subway.

On Friday, Foggy finally got the parcel, which turned out to be an invitation to discuss a charitable donation to Nelson and Murdock from a corporation, which did not wish to be named at present. But there were two complimentary tickets to Wednesday night's hockey game between the New York Rangers and the Keystone Combines. There was also an invitation to The Good Son, one of New York's trendiest and most expensive restaurants.

Checking his watch, Foggy realised that he did not have much time, so he changed, wishing he could shower. Only a few drops of deodorant, some cologne, a shave, and brushing his teeth was on the table, as well as changing into a clean suit, this one a light grey persuasion. He wore a handkerchief in his left lapel, which matched the light carnation coloured shirt. His tie matched his jacket, not perfectly, but close enough that few people would be able to spot the difference.

Arriving, five minutes later, he had paid for a cab, since there was no way he would get there on time otherwise, Foggy was just combing his hair, trying to look good, as he walked up to the waiter at The Good Son, which stood high above the city as it revolved, offering a beautiful view of the setting sun, light cascading through the gaps in the buildings.

Elektra has posed:
Foggy is met at the receiving area of the restaurant by the consierge, a tall, middle-aged man who looks the young lawyer up and down and heaves a sigh. It's the tie. Foggy just knows it's the tie. Close enough isn't good enough at The Good Son.
The man coughs and gives Foggy a pained smile. "I'm sorry sir, you must have made a mistake. There are other restaurants on the mezannine floor. Perhaps you might wish to find yourself there?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Yeah, it was the tie. Foggy knew it was the tie. "Oh, uh, I, yeah, I'm in the right place, I think." The last part was said under his breath, but it was probably picked up by the middle aged concierge. Foggy reached into his jacket, was he already beginning to perspire, but he reached into his jacket and pulled out the invitation. There was a number on it. "Um, does 1856244 mean anything to you?" It seemed the strangest thing for a restaurant, but he guessed that it was their way of ensuring that people did not show up who were not welcome.

Elektra has posed:
    Oh.. that does change things...
The man's brows shot up, nearly into his hairline, before he could compose himself. And once he has, he's apologizing profusely, "My deepest, most sincere apologies. I.. I did not know. The tie.." He coughs again, and snaps his fingers
A delightful woman in a very costly designer dress, steps forward, seemingly out of the shadows, and gives Foggy the kind of smile that implies any wish he might have is her desire, motioning that he should follow her. Only, it seems the concierge has other thoughts. "Please watch the door, Marjorie, I will see Mr. Nelson to his table."
Yes, the man now knows his name. Foggy has gone from being a pain smile to someone not only with a name, but deserving of an actual personal escort to whoever it is that sent the dinner invitation and box seats for the hocky game. Box seats to a game that sold out before pre-season. Box seats that were legacy seats. You couldn't buy these if you wanted.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy would have liked to see Tom Grazer, the star player for the Keystone Combines, and he doesn't even particularly like hockey. But if you get a chance to see a Jordan, Brady, Rodriguez, or Ronaldo, you went to see it, no matter how much or little you cared about the sport.

He could have rubbed it in, now that he had a name and a personal escort, but Foggy wasn't used to those kinds of luxuries, and even if he were, he wasn't that guy. He just calmly, smiling a little more smugly at first, but he calmly walked behind the man, where he was led to a table, a booth actually, and a private one. Not that Foggy had ever set foot in the restaurant before, but the private booth was a nice touch. Whatever this was for, they were shelling out good money.

It did make him wonder the source. What kind of a charity would waste this kind of money, but then he consoled himself, major corporation looking for a tax write off, most likely. It could be anyone really. But it was nice to see the city moving. He sat, as he was the first one there. Even though he was late, evidently his companion or companions were later, fashionably so.

Elektra has posed:
Foggy isn't just led to a private booth, he's led through the kitchen, and out through a small, unassuming back door, to a patio that holds but one table, amidst a sea of potted trees, low lying plants, ann overhanging trellis threaded through with lights, and candles set all around.
There's wine already airing and chillig, just waiting to be poured, and at the table but one single occupant.
The concierge moves closer (blocking the view of the woman for the moment!) murmuring, "My apologies. Your guest was detained at the entrance. I did not recognize him." Or, more truthfully, he didn't like Foggy's tie. Then the man steps to one side, gesting that Foggy should come join.
"Mr.. Nelson, may I introduce Ms. Natchios. She will be your host this evening. And I will be your simple servant."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Elektra?" Foggy cried incredulously. He did not expect to be meeting Elektra Natchios. Given her past with, well, this was a surprise to say the least. He stood where he was, not moving, and yet, it felt as if he had jumped five feet back. His eyes darted to the man who was now their simple servant, and then back to Elektra. She looked as if she hadn't aged a day. He guessed that came from being rich. He may have been a lawyer, but he still had to work for a living.

Taking a seat, he might as well humour her for the moment, plus, he wasn't likely to ever get to visit this restaurant again, so he might as well savour it while he can. He just hoped that she would pay for his meal. It would probably cost more than he made in a month. But at least it'd be a darn good salad.

Elektra has posed:
Her smile says it all. Cool. Composed. Collected. She'd hoped for this sort of reaction, and now she was satisfied... For the moment, at least. Once he's sat himself down, she murmurs, "Foggy. How good of you to come. And your tie, it's delightful."
Which is quite possibly a lie coming from her, but most definitely made to be a twit for the consierge who is still standing guard, waiting for the two to need his services.
"You trust me, don't you Foggy?" Though Elektra doesn't wait for him answer, merely turning to the concierge, giving the man instructions in a long spate of flawless Italian, ending with, "We'll pour our own wine. You may leave us now."
She waits till the man leaves before turning back to Foggy, declaring, "Well, pour."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Most people would probably shrink, frown, or blush when called out on something like his tie. In this context, he had made an error. It wasn't that bad, but at this level, it was easy to spot. Foggy wasn't most people. He pulled the tie out, undid it, and held it out to her, eyeing it, "no, it's nice, but it doesn't go with your outfit." And then he calmly put the tie back on, redoing it. He was good at ting it. Double Windsor even, but it was just slightly crooked. And probably could be tightened a smidge too.

It took every bit of confidence to do that, but by getting it out in the open, he had hoped that it would be over. He preferred bow ties anyway. "Yes, I trust you to act in accordance with what I've seen from you," which was to be a predator, a pot stirrer, and a general pain in his backside. Looking to the other man, who was dismissed, Foggy reached for the glass that was left, poured her glass first, and then his own. The Italian bit was entirely lost on him. He thought he heard pizza, but he might have been wrong.

Elektra has posed:
Oh, the audacity! But it seems to have worked, Elektra leaning back in her chair and laughing, the sound rich and full against the night air. "I'll remember to send a fabric swatch the next time we do this," she murmurs. "Oh, Foggy, who knew you had it in you? I'm impressed. You've grown."

Her head is inclined to him, in something of a tribute. The candlelight reflecting off the sheer black gloss of her tresses.

"Matthew is going to lose you one day, and he'll regret it. Until that day though.." She reaches for one of the glasses he has poured, and lifts it to her lips, taking a sip of the pale coloured fluid. "I hope you don't mind, we'll need to finish the bottle. The don't keep once they've been opened."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"half an inch, but who's counting?" Foggy bravely replied. Of course he was counting. Men always counted, down to the last thou, or thousandth of an inch. Being an American, Foggy was still on the Imperial system. Although as a Harvard graduate, he was well aware and could convert to the metric system. He was rather pleased with himself, and he was thrilled to have elicited that response from her. She did have an infectious smile, but then, she was a model, or she should have been. He wasn't too sure on that one.

"Matt's lost a lot of things," his mother (or so Foggy understood), his father, his sight, her, "but he's never going to lose me, and I'm never going to lose him. Avocados at Law." He exclaimed, a private joke. When he gets the suitably confused look, he'll explain, "you had to be there." Looking to the wine, he took his own glass. He wasn't one to turn down booze, especially the expensive stuff, "on one condition." He said that with conviction, as if he weren't going to take a sip until she agreed, but then he asked, "why am I here?" She might like to dance around all night, but he was straight and to the point.

Elektra has posed:
She's not one to be rushed, merely regarding him carefully from her seat scross the table from him. "Avacados at law?" That earns a delicate arch of brow from the woman, an arch that remains even after he siad 'you had to be there', her interest piqued. "No. Really, you should explain that one."

The request to get to the point earns a soft tsk of disappointment. "Really. We haven't even had our appetizers yet. You're like a tow-headed youth on his first assignation, Foggy. Someone needs to teach you that you don't just go for the kill, you play with your target first." She's clearing alluding to all things sexual, while simultaneously taking the metaphor into darker relams.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy didn't seem too interested in explaining avocados at law. Was he toying with her? Was it an embarrassing story? Whatever the reason, he didn't immediately answer her. He did seem interested in those appetizers. The food was supposed to be great here, and his breakfast consisted of a stale bagel, with cream cheese, and an apple. At least it'd keep that pesky doctor away for 24 hours. His lunch wasn't any better. He had a couple of doughnuts. No wonder he was starving.

"Ooh, appetizers... I mean," and then he looked to her, blinking, pausing, confused, and shook his head. That wavy blonde hair of his tousled against his suit; he really ought to get that cut to a shorter length. He seemed to read between the lines on the former meaning, but not her later. He might not have known about that part of her past, otherwise he would not be nearly so brazen right now. "I might be big, but I'm not a target. Not for you anyways. Never going to happen. So, did you have a reason to invite me to the most expensive dinner I'm probably going to have all year?"

Elektra has posed:
There's a careful sip of her wine before she deigns to answer him. "Of your life, Foggy. This will most assuredly be the most expensive meal of your life.." Her smile is a practiced thing. "Unless you do leave your avacado for a firm that actually pays."

She lifts her chin with an imperceptable nod, as one of the soux chefs comes out with the appetizer: a chilled plate, mounded with crushed ice that has been graced with the thinnest slices of various raw fish, chilled shrimp, raw oysters.

When the sous chef is gone, he's told, "Eat. I have no intentions of merely jumping to the point, so you may as well play my little game. I have reason to believe you'll like what I'm going to say. It's going to tickle your fancy of rightness in the world." He gets a flick of gaze. "You could be target, Foggy. Though we might be playing different games then." It's an enigmatic statement.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Of my life," he concedes, but he does so with a cheerful smile. So she is paying for his meal, or he hopes to god, that she is. He's not sure his credit cards, plural, could take a beating at a place like this. Where was Thor or Hercules when you needed them?

Foggy was not a picky eater, so he enjoyed the appetisers when presented to him. He did raise his eyebrows at the raw oysters. He knew their symbolism. He looked to her afterwards, and for a moment, he thought about serving them to her. But he hesitated. Ordinarily, he would never have considered it. But maybe it was the line about how he could be a target. Still, by the time he decided to do so, playing along with her game, whatever it was, he kind of made a fool of himself about it. But he tried. And that was part of his charm.

Elektra has posed:
He's clearly taken her by surprise with that little venture. But she's good. Very good. There's only a momentary widening of eyes before, before she laughs again, the sound a sultry fullness. "I see. You think that's the game we play?"

To be certain, she lets him feed her the oyster, and even returns the favour, her lips an amused line as the shell is set aside, and her own mouthful is followed by another that she feeds herself, lifting the halfshell to him in tribute.

"Bravo. But we're not here for that. And were we, you need to work on your finesse. A for effort, though. But, let's not pretend this is something it isn't. I have a business proposal for you."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
He's clearly taken her by surprise, because he's taken himself by surprise. That wasn't what she was after? He's having a hard time reading her. He knew she was tricky, but, well, poor Foggy. He's so confused by all this. Why is he here? What's this game she keeps on about? She was good, very good, but now she faced an opponent that was bad, very bad, and a terrible opponent can be as difficult as a great one. They're hard to predict or anticipate. You never know when they're going to do something monumentally stupid.

The oyster she feeds him is good, very good. He hadn't had oysters in a long time. But where she appeared to be amused, he was most assuredly confused. "So, you won't be sending me home to Matt with a report card?" So a business proposal? "All right?" He was waiting for her to explain. She called the meeting. What was it about?

Elektra has posed:
Whatever it was she was playing at, it seems the oyster spelled the last of that particular volley, Elektra murmuring, "Just what would I put on your report card? Plays well with others?" There's the merest hint of annoyance with that, one that is brushed aside with, "Eat. The are good. So is the salmon."

She looks over at him, "Why is it you don't wish to enjoy this? I'd have thought the meal, the tickets, all of this you'd have sat back and enjoyed. Instead you're acting like I've asked you to betray your avacado." Again, that tiniest of flickers of annoyance. "You disappoint me."

He wasn't playing her game.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Nothing lower than a A-, but I'd probably settle for a B+ in gym class." Foggy has never gotten a B+ in gym in his life. The salmon reminded him of a story, and he put his elbows on the table as he clasped his hands together, "I'm not too big on shrimp, but salmon, you know, the guy who invented spin did it with salmon. A man named Red Moran, a New Yorker like me, imported tins of canned salmon from Russia, but when he received them, they were in an unsalable condition. You see, they'd gone white in transit. So Red did what all good New Yorkers would, he made up some stickers and slapped them on the can, 'guaranteed not to go pink'. Things aren't always what they seem."

So, had Foggy been playing along, doing the bumbling foolish act, or was this just a rare moment of clarity, the kind that made him such a force in the court room. It was hard to read him. "Sorry to disappoint. Perhaps we should start again." He offered his hand, "I'm Foggy Nelson, Avocado at Law."

Elektra has posed:
Elektra listens to the story, the annecdote enough to stop the impending pout from the woman. "And? Did he sell them?" It's not a tale she's heard before, and it's more than possible he's making the entire thing up. Still, she asks. Pausing to look him over, "A B+ in gym? Really? No desire to rethink that one?"

Still, she's not annoyed any longer. Or if she is, it's hidden. She is something of a master of hiding when she wants to be.

His proferred hand gives her pause. Another of those delicate archings of brow. "I think I like this you better. You're really much smarter than you let on.. Very well." With an incline of head, a slender hand is extended to meet his own. "Elektra Natchios. Pleased to finally meet you, Mr. Nelson."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Every last one," Foggy said with conviction. "People actually started throwing out pink salmon they had bought from his competitors." But it was all true, and one of the earliest recorded uses of spin in advertising, if not the first. Smiling at her, he said, "all right, all right, but I hold the line at C+, and I still contend that with a better teacher, I'd be a better student." He never did manage to climb the rope in gym glass.

She had insulted him with a backhanded compliment. He let it pass. "The pleasure is all mine. Now, you're probably wondering why I said avocado at law. I would be if I were in your shoes, of course, heels really aren't my thing, but back at college, my roommate said that abogado was Spanish for attorney. I, was, I'll admit, a little bit under the influence, and misspoke it as avocado. It's become something of a running joke between us ever since. And that roommate turned out to be my business partner in Nelson and Murdock."

Elektra has posed:
Again that laugh, coming just as the appretizer plate is removed in silence. "Now, see? That's a story you should have led with. It will be a little while till the next course." Her wine is reached for. "You know, he never told me that story. All our time together, and he never told me."

The laugh is tucked away to be saved for later use. "So he sold every one. Just another example of how the right approach can win or lose. But look who I'm telling. A lawyer. And a very good one at that. I've been watching your firm. Tell me, Foggy, how is it that two lawyers of your calibre can barely scratch together enough to pay the rent and yourselves each month?" She likely has the answer to that, but still, she asks.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy decided to take some more of his wine. It was good, better than he had ever tasted. He didn't know much about wine, but he knew enough to tell the difference between the cheap stuff, and what they were drinking. "I'm sure there's a lot of things he never told you. You know, he nearly failed a year of law school because of you." He didn't like that about her. She could have seriously screwed up his best friend's academic career, and life for all he knew.

But it wasn't said with animosity. In fact, it was almost sympathetic. He wanted to help her. He wanted her to know the effect she could have on people. She hurt him, even if she cared for him. She was like a flame, and he was the moth. Foggy decided to take a moment to refill their glasses. "That's because we represent the innocent, and we go out of our way to help the disenfranchised."

"You, you're rich. You could afford a lawyer, you could afford ten lawyers, each ten times more qualified than Matt and I. But you're not the kind of person we take on as a client. We like money, don't get us wrong, but the working moms, the kid who gets busted by a cop because he was walking while black, the person fighting with their super to get roach problem dealt with, they need help too, and they can't afford your kind of lawyer, or even us. They're left with public defenders. Lambs to the slaughter. So, we try and help out, while taking enough cases to keep the lights on."

Elektra has posed:
"No," Elektra says quietly, reaching for her own wine. "He never told me." She knew when, though. When they'd first met. Those first tempestuous months of their affair, when nothing seemed to matter but one another. And then? Well.. then. There was always a then to a story. What came after the Happily Ever After, only she and Matt hadn't had that. They'd skipped that part and arrived at something different.

He tells her nothing she doesn't know of the firm. As he said, she could afford the best. And the best was exactly what she'd hired to find out everything she needed and wanted to know about Nelson and Murdock. She'd be no kind of a businesswoman if she didn't arrive the the deck stacked in her favour, and he'd just made her argument for her.

That's when the smile returned. "Are you saying you can't see any situation where you might accept my money?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Matt? Definitely not. Me? I guess that depends on what you've been accused of?"

Elektra has posed:
"Ouch, Foggy, you wound me." Her voices is amused disbelief, as though she hardly expected it of him. Though she might have. "I think you may be wrong, however. Care to make a little wager?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
The staff of the Good Son was impeccable. It was as though they were invisible. They had brought the appetisers swiftly and silently. They had removed them just as well. They came to take the orders on dinner, using the maximum of discretion and the minimum of fuss. And now, their meals were brought to them. Elektra had wild turbot with toasted capers and preserved lemon, green being the predominant colour to her plate, and was surrounded by eight dots of orange.

He had the roasted long island duck with pomegranate, pistachios, and hearts of palm. Surprisingly, the duck had even been cut into the shape of long island. Now that was precision. But the Good Son had so few tables that each and every dish was a work of art. It was almost a shame to consume it. Perhaps it was that glorious food set in front of him, but Foggy nodded his head in agreement, "what're the terms?"

Elektra has posed:
Again, Elektra waits until their plates are set down, and the servers have removed themselves from the scene. "My terms?" Her fork is picked up and she takes a delicate forkful of the turbot. "Well, if I can convince you to accept my money, you owe me a favour. And if you can't be convinced, I owe you one. Sound fair?" She waits for his answer.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
That sounded like a dangerous wager to make, but what's the worst that could happen if he had to do a favour for her. Plus, in that situation, he'd have accepted her money. And if not, he'd get a favour from her. It sounded too good to be true. And after another sip of that wine, he was about ready to accept, "all right."

Elektra has posed:
Annother of those smiles graces her lips, and her wineglass is lifted to him. "Very well. Then shall we begin?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy folded his napkin over his lap, and began with his meal, "if you say so, but personally, I think it's a shame to desecrate such beauty."

Elektra has posed:
That earns a pause. "Oh? And how do you plan on desecrating me? And what makes you so certain you're going to win the wager?" A sip of wine taken, and the glass put down again in favour of her fork. She continues to eat.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
That was cruel. She waited until he was chewing his food to say it too. But it had the desired effect. He nearly choked on his duck. It was good too, the duck, not the choking. But he managed to swallow it without making too much of a scene, not that there was anyone within earshot, besides the pair of them. He licked his lips after swallowing, "desecrating you?"

Elektra has posed:
Is that a twinkle in her eyes?

"You did say it was a shame to desecrate such beauty. Weren't you imagining a favour?" Oh, she played with fire, and she knew it. "But do go on, what makes you so certain that you will win the wager?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Because I get to decide who wins the wager." Yes, he was trying to ignore that twinkle in her eye. "If I decide that you win the wager, I take your money, however much that is, and all I have to give up is a favour. If I decide that I win the wager, I don't get the money, but I get a favour from you. Either way, I benefit." Yeah, he was a lawyer. "And... you shouldn't talk like that. Matt's my best friend." Bros before hoes.

Elektra has posed:
Another of those rich laughs fills the air between them. "Well, I'll give you a point for that one. Though you're making all my arguments for me, you do realize that, don't you. This is turing out better than I expected. So, as you say, if I win, you get my money. If you win, you get a favour. Tell me, Foggy, how many legitimate cases does your firm have to do for each pro bono case you take on?" She asks like she doesn't already know the answer, setting her fork down upon the tablecloth and reaching for her wine again, this time taking a healthy swallow.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"It's tough to say," he ignores the part of him making her argument for her, "it really depends on the paid case, and how much work it takes on the pro bono efforts. But yes, it's not a favourable balance, financially speaking. We're okay with that. It's part of the old business model."

Elektra has posed:
Her glass isn't put down as she asks, "And what if I said I could change that business model for you? Make it possible for the firm to do any pro bono work it chose to? You could give up all your other clients altogether if you wished, but I suspect Matt's work ethic will rear it's ugly head and that won't be the case, but let's suppose I could make that happen. Still think you'll turn down my money?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy listened to her, and he considered it, legitimately, at first. He didn't want to give up their non pro bono cases. That's how they made money. Even if they were somehow able to be reasonably compensated for pro bono work, no firm grows doing that. He wanted Nelson and Murdock to grow, and have a soul. It wasn't that much to ask for, was it?

But there was a problem with accepting her money. "We're a partnership. You know as well as I do that both Matt and I have to sign off on anything like that. And, yeah, Matt, I can't really see him accepting money from you. Don't misunderstand me. I mean you no disrespect. I just, with the history that you two share, yeah, it'd be an uphill climb to say the least."

Elektra has posed:
The woman doesn't seem bothered by his reply, smiling over her wineglass, and a sip, before putting it down again, and picking up her fork. "Of course he'll know, silly. But he won't listen, which is why we're talking first. And really, as you said, what have you to lose? You either gain something you want, or something you need."

Her shrug is a casual thing. Almost negligent. "I believe that what I have to offer Matt is going to want. I believe you're going to want it enough that you're going to sell it to him for me."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Taking another sip of his glass, Foggy half hoped, half asked, "and that would be the favour, if you won our bet?"

Elektra has posed:
There's a titter of a laugh. He's actually surprised her; or amused her. Perhaps both. "Now why would I ask that? You want what I'm going to offer, Foggy. You just don't know how much, yet." Elektra takes a bite of her dinner, "Are you enjoying your food?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Because you want to get back with Matt, and you think you can do it through me." Foggy was smarter than he let on. And that bothered him. He didn't want Matt and Eleketra to be in the same room together after what had happened. They were toxic when thrown together. It was bad for them, and everyone around them. But, he couldn't help but admit that he was genuinely enjoying her company. It was already the most time he'd ever spent with her. "Yes, very much so. You weren't lying when you said it would be the best meal of my life." And then, it hit him. Every meal he was ever going to have from now on in was going to pale in comparison. His face turned white.

Elektra has posed:
Elektra tsks, "And why would you think I'm trying to get back with Matt?" Besides the obvious. Or the fact that like lighter fluid on a fire, they were flames that were dangrously addictive, the two of them. Or perhaps merely the fact that she couldn't have him Like a child denied a toy, it had suddenly become her favourite - even if she had tossed it in a corner and declared herself done with it.

When he pales, she watches, waiting ever so patiently before asking, "Is something wrong?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Because we always want what we can't have." Foggy admitted. How could he possibly help her with this? He'd be betraying his friendship with Matt. He should watch out for Matt. And how could he call it watching out for his friend if he allowed her back into his life? "And..." he was about to say something, but her question about his paleness throws him off, "oh, I was just thinking that every meal I'm ever going to have from now on out is going to pale in comparison to this evening. Los Pollos Hermanos and Big Belly Burger just won't be able to compete." He meant it as a joke, but he actually ate at both fineries.

Elektra has posed:
Perhaps surprisingly, she doesn't laugh at his remark about how every meal forward will be in comparison. "Well, you'll just have to agree to my plans so that we have future dinners together, now, won't you? I'm sure we can stretch the budget to Josie's or somewhere similar." So she both knew one of the frequent hangouts, and was making a joke. Or it seemed like a joke, Elektra's eyes sparkling as she took a last mouthful of food and put her fork on her plate.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"I'm not that cheap." Foggy said. There wasn't anger in his voice, but conviction. He was a little insulted. Yes, everyone had their price. Whether it was money, or something else, everyone had a price. But he didn't want to be bought for so little, and he didn't even have an idea of how much she was offering. He set his napkin down on the table. He may have lost his appetite.

Elektra has posed:
"Meow," Elektra murmurs, quieting as the dishes are cleared away. The staff never seen nearby, and yet seemingly always aware of when their services are needed. When they've gone, her lips for a small moue of a pout, "I've gone and upset you, haven't I? It was the pizza palace, wasn't it? You thought I was rubbing your nose in it all, didn't you?"

She settles back in her seat. "Well, no harm was meant."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy wasn't finished with his meal. That was meant as a display. But he can't very well ask for it in a doggy bag. He really would have liked to take that home in a doggy bag. The best meal of his life, and it was over before he even finished it. He sighed, though, it probably appeared that he was sighing over her comments, rather than the lost remnants of that scrumptious meal.

"All right, but you know it's never going to fly. I'm a lawyer, which basically means that I argue for a living. And I don't think I could argue on your behalf to Matt, because I don't believe it. I've seen what you do. Matt's just a plaything to you, a momentary distraction. There'll be another one, soon enough, and you'll move on. You only want what you can't have, and Nelson and Murdock are not for sale." He was kind about it at least. There was a sympathetic lilt in his voice.

Elektra has posed:
"Tell me, Foggy, just what is it you think I am offering you?" Elektra makes herself more comfortable in her seat. "I'm curious just what it is you think you're turning down right now, before actually hearing what I have to say on the matter."

She holds her glass out for a refill, "More? Something more suitable for dessert will be brought out with it."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"I think that you're offering a great sum of money, presumably through some domestic account. You don't need the tax write offs for the offshore holdings. Maybe it's all from your companies, maybe you'll pull in some of your colleagues, hold a charity ball, a gala, some big event, where people can get their photos taken. Legal help for the poor and needy isn't that sexy, but it's still something. And all I have to do to get it is to sell my partner to you, or more precisely, sell him on you." He took another sip of his wine, and hoping he would get some more, nodded, "please, that would be great." Hopefully the next few courses, assuming he got to them, would be as good as the last one. He already missed the remannts of his plate. it was so good.

Elektra has posed:
A small, impressed sound escapes the woman. "Well."

The next course comes, and smalltalk is made, though she doesn't let the other rest. "And what if none of the money were mine? You've offered a delightful plan, and it seems the only sticking point you have is that it's my money. Somehow mind is filthier than other peoples. I suppose your point of contention is that I had the audacity to not only sleep with your partner, but to fall in love with him." Now there's an admission worth the price he paid to get in. If he didn't already know it. "You paint me in ugly colours, Foggy. I suppose I could take my offer elsewhere. Though now you'll think about it, and when I announce my plans, and suggest that I'd already offered the opportunity to Nelson and Murdock, but they turned the opportunity down, there won't be any regrets or hard feelings."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
During one of the courses, Foggy intertwined his fingers and looked at them. He paused to reflect on what had been said. "You fell in love with him." He suspected Matt loved her, wasn't sure if it was lust, or love, but there was something. That Elektra felt the same, well; it complicated matters because, no matter how they felt about one another, they were a poor match. If they ever got back together, he might as well start a solo practice, because Matt would be checked out for good.

And it wasn't even as if Foggy could blame the guy. She was beautiful, captivating, radiant, a brilliant conversationalist, and she was anything but boring. "If it weren't your money, it'd be better. If you weren't involved, at least publicly, it's be best. The only way this stands a chance in hell of working, is if Matt doesn't know about it, and... I can't lie to him. He's my best friend."

Foggy was really struggling with this. He didn't know what to do. All paths lead to a negative outcome. "Oh, and you look good in any colour, if I'm being honest."

Elektra has posed:
Elektra reaches up to tuck a strand of hair behind an ear, the gesture both casual, and signifying a shift in the conversation. "There's the rub, isn't it? To tell him or not to tell him. When we both know all it would take would be that tiny little lie of ommission for Matthew to reject this whole entire idea. We both know that, don't we? So, you tell me, what are we going to do about this? Of course, you might want to hear the rest of my idea before you decide." A brow is arched delicately as she offers the suggestion.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy wasn't comfortable with this. He wasn't comfortable with any of this. The lie of omission, it was a lie. He was a lawyer. He knew damn well it was a lie. But then, he got an idea. "There's no rush, is there?" Yes, people might be hampered by any delay in this, but that was a price he was willing to pay to make sure that he wasn't going to screw this up. If he did act wrongly, those people might never get the help they need anyway, as Nelson and Murdock could dissolve, or worse. "You never did say when I had to make a decision on who won the bet. So, yes, why don't we talk about the rest of the idea, and maybe get to know each other a little better. It could be good for both of us, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable knowing what I was getting myself and my partner into."

Elektra has posed:
The woman gives a negligent shrug of a motion. "No. I didn't put a time limit on it, but do know that I bore easily."

Now she smiles. "Very well. What is it you wish to know?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
\
"Well, I don't bore very easily, so you've got my undivided attention from now until I bore you, or they kick me out of this wonderful place, whichever comes first." He was smiling back at her, glad to have changed the subject from something so close to his heart, and now he could focus on something that he was actually good at, or at least, decent at.

"I have a thousand questions, really. So many, but what to ask first? What makes you laugh? Who do you look up to? What's your favourite hobby? What's the last thing you changed your opinion of? But, those are all kind of basic, trivial things, so, something a little deeper. What are your thoughts on destiny?"

Elektra has posed:
Again with the unexpected. Or perhaps not unexpected. It all depends on what his game plan is.. "I'd meant about my proposition, but I suppose we can play this game. There's still some dinner left to wander through."

"My thoughts on Destiny." She says it with the capital implied. Heard, even, in her voice, though she says it as though her thoughts come from far away. "I'm not sure I believe in destiny. Perhaps I once did. Aren't we all just a product of decision? Now you. What's the biggest regret you have."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Maybe so, maybe not, I'm not sure. But I do know I will have a piece of that delightful looking... I don't actually know what it is, but it looks delicious," and he takes a bite of one of the courses offered to him, "and as for regrets, well," he looks away wistfully, "I have a tattoo." Oh, he can't just leave it there, can he? "what do you think about when you're all alone?"

Elektra has posed:
Elektra names the meal in Italian, but doesn't deign to translate. She reaches for some off of the communal platter hersel. "Not so quickly. You can't just say tattoo and not say of what. There are rules to this, you know. Nicities that need to be observed." She's very calm about the whole matter, as though she always sat and had in depth personal discussions about such things.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Oh, well, it's not somewhere you'd normally see." He clearly doesn't know the rules of this part of the game, and decides to ask, "do you have any tattoos?"

Elektra has posed:
As earlier, there is a delicate arch of brow. "That's two questions. I'm only answering one." She reaches for her wine, giving him the faintest of smirks, "Yes."

It's patently clear which she's answered, but she's answered in kind and offered no further edification on the matter. Pointing out, "I didn't ask to see it. I asked what it was." A sip of wine is taken, Elektra waatching him for any hints of signs of what made him tick. Anything that could be used against him. It wasn't even conscious. It was just what she did. Everything, and anything could be a weapon, and in her line of work, anything and everything was.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"So, when you're all alone, you think of yes? No, I don't think you answered that one. So, it must mean that you have a tattoo. Interesting. Mine's sort of a plant, I guess you could call it that." And then, with a smirk, he asks, "can I see yours?" He knew the answer would be a no, but he was curious. And he had asked another question, yet she hadn't asked one of her own.

Elektra has posed:
"Yes, but I'd have to kill you then." She says it with perfect sincerity.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Some things are worth dying for." He replied with a smile, though he wasn't sure if that was one of them.

Elektra has posed:
"You life. I suppose you can waste it if you want." Her tones ever so conversational, like this were the two of them discussing what to order for dessert, not the quite possibly serious fact that she might just be serious. Or the fact (whether he knows it or not) that she has killed people for less. Much. Much. Less.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy reached up with his right hand to scratch his upper lip, where he'd have a moustache if he didn't regularly shave. He thought about it. It was hard to read her. But she seemed so conversational that he was lulled into a false sense of security. "It is my life. But, do I want this that badly? Oh, boy, decisions, decisions," he moved that hand to the table, tapping it with his index finger, using both hands to make a bit of a melody, "okay, okay, yes, I do want to see it, no matter the consequences." He was having fun, despite being with a woman who caused Matt so much trouble. What was getting into him?

Elektra has posed:
He's watched with utter calm as he looks thoughtful. Even more when he taps his fingers and creates that little melody. It's with the same utter calm that she takes in his answer, regards him, and discards his notion. "Such a shame that wants aren't always fulfilled, isn't it? Even if I didn't think Matt would seek retribution, let's just say I'm feeling magnanimous today." She returns to her meal.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
And once again, Foggy finishes in last place. The joy of being a nice guy. Shaking his head, he returns to his meal, but he does look a little disappointed, even if it does mean he gets to live to see tomorrow. Of course, ever the lawyer, he winks at her, "it's a good thing I asked to see it and you agreed, with the caveat that you'd have to kill me. Does this mean you're going back on your word? Doesn't Elektra honour her commitments? So, if you're not willing to adhere to those ones, what about this charity fund raiser you're on about?" He confidentally ate more of his dinner.

Elektra has posed:
Her fork is put down and her wine taken up. "You asked if you could see it, not if you may see it. I've done nothing but answer truthfully. Indeed, you could see it. I chose not to allow it. May you see it? Most certainly not. Are we done with the semantics portion of the evening?" Elektra pauses, glass midway to her lips, and arches a perfectly plucked, delicate line of brow at him.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
And that's why Foggy thinks that Matt is the better lawyer. He even neglected to mention that there was no time frame specified. It worked in both ways, she could show him at any time, as in, many years from now, just as she could kill him at any time, ideally many, many decades from now. "Oh no, we're done with the semantics." He raised his glass, offering to make a toast. He ponders that one, and then says, after clinging his glass to hers, "may we have those in our arms, whom we love in our hearts."

Elektra has posed:
That gives her pause, her glass remaining neither here nor there. Not lifted, nor set down. When his glass touches hers, it seems to break the reverie, her own glass lifted now, a salute to a distant memory. "To those we could not keep."

It's a simple toast, and one she buries away again with a sip of her wine. Silent for moments before regarding him, glass set down. "I intend to keep my word with the Foundation. Consider it the one small act of decency left within me."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Oh, I'm sure there's more than one." Foggy replies, "Elektra." He sets his glass down, getting serious now. "You, look, I was on the outside, looking in. You're better than you think, can be better than you are. We've had our differences, but, I believe that you have it within you to become, to be, the woman that you want to be. Some things take work, a lot of work, but they're usually the most rewarding. We all want what we can't have. God knows there are things I want that I will never have. But I have to believe that if I try hard enough, work hard enough, it'll come. And if it doesn't, then screw that, I'll find something better."

Elektra has posed:
Her lips curl at the edges in a not-quite sneer. "You sound like him. Begging me to become something different. Do you know, he suggested I turn myself in?"

Her head tilts towards Foggy, a singular brow arched again.

"What is it you think I want to be? Why do you imagine I even had a choice?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Turn herself in? What did she do? Matt, Matt was always the more righteous of the two of them. Probably that Catholic guilt. But as Daredevil proved, even if by day he was by the book, he had no problem bending the rules at night. Foggy was, somewhat, more comfortable bending the rules in the daylight. "I'm glad you didn't," he remarks, since this has been a nice meal, a very nice meal, but also nice company. He's surprised at how much he's enjoyed being with her.

"I don't know what choice you had then, but you have one now. And I think you don't want to be alone, don't want to be hurt, don't want to feel, so much. You wouldn't be here if you didn't still feel. I think you find, with all due respect, your life to be a little bit empty, as if it's missing something, and you want to be whole." Ballsy, Foggy, very ballsy.

Elektra has posed:
Whether he's hit a nerve or not is unclear. She was always good at hiding what she didn't want seen or known. But she laughs, head thrown back, and a full rich laugh burbles up from within her. "Missing something? Oh, my dear Foggy, what ever would I be missing?"

For a moment she doesn't meet his gaze, her expression guarded. Distant. And then she looks over, giving a small shrug. "And even if you were right? Just how do you propose I go about this life changing plan of yours? You're very like him in some ways. Idealistic, though perhaps not to his fault."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy wasn't sure if he hit a nerve, but he thinks he did, and he felt sorry for that. He wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of a conversation like this, so he genuinely felt for her. They both knew what she was missing, so he didn't reply to that, instead, answering her second question. "One day at a time. Change is never instant. It's gradual. We grow, we change. One day at a time, one moment at a time, one decision at time if you have to, but whatever it takes." And as for how much he's like his partner, well, they are cut from very similar cloth. Matt got the better fabric, but Foggy's not too far off. He's like the off brand Matt. Or was that the other way around?

Elektra has posed:
"Spare me the platitudes, Foggy. We were having such a nice meal, too." Her plate is pushed away, fork and all. She's done with it, even if only half the food upon it has been eaten. She looks past him and shakes her head ever so imperceptibly at the lurking waitstaff. It seems Foggy is going to get to finish this course.

"We wander, though. Is this helping you at all?"

He's smiled at; it almost looks sincere. "Eat up. They'll wait till you're done."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy was enjoying his meal, and though he'll probably regret this later, he sets his plate aside, ready for the lurking wait staff to take it. In the back of his head, he's hoping that there will be another meal like this. He's thoroughly enjoyed her company, which has surprised him. She's different than what he remembered, or expected. "We are, and it is. This has... really, it has been the nicest evening I've had in a long time."

Elektra has posed:
Again, he gives her pause. "Really? How interesting." It does occur to her to wonder if he's meaning purely on a level of the meal. She can be a brilliant conversationalist, and pleasant company, but even she knows her limits. "I'd have thought you had better companionship than bantering with a nemesis."

Now that she's done with her meal, she focuses on her wine, the glass held lazily and with ease. Small sips taken from time to time between speaking to him.

When his plate is put aside, the waitstaff comes. Elektra ordering in rapid Italian. Shortly thereafter, a dessert wine is brought out, as well as fresh glasses. And not too long after that, a deceptively simple dessert of tiramisu.

Again they are left alone.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Are you my nemesis?" He replied, an incredulous look on his face. Was he doing that deliberately, or was it natural. Hard to say, but it looked good. "How interesting." And then he grinned to her. Foggy does sigh at the desert, and it's not a pleasant sigh. If anything, he's sad that this evening is nearing its conclusion. He would have rather began from the start, doing it all over again. "If I eat this," and he pointed to the tiramisu with his fork, "then I know this evening will be over shortly thereafter. And if I don't, I won't get to taste it. Neither option appeals to me."

Elektra has posed:
"Am I? You tell me," she returns the volley to him. "Eat the dessert. It's a specialty. They use a coffee liquer instead of rum, and a hint of orange zest. Though I think the patissiere might have conniptions if he thought I were giving away all his secrets."

Her lips bow over a sudden and delicate smile. Perhaps the truest thing she's done all evening.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"I think that you once had the potential for it, but I've since reconsidered."He offers a nod, and takes a forkful of the tiramisu, savouring its delectable taste. "It certainly meets with my approval," and he smiles back at her, "and so do you." He knew he might live to regret it, but if she wanted to pursue Matt, he wasn't going to stand in her way. There was something about her. He finally understood why Matt felt the way he did. There was so much more to Elektra Natchios than he had ever considered.

Elektra has posed:
It is she who pours the dessert wine, a bare fingerful each of the small glasses specially made for just such a purpose. "Oh? I suppose I should be flattered you've changed your mind." She doesn't address which thing in particular she means, either taking them globally, or perhaps hoping to pry more out of him than he's already admitted. A thing confirmed as she asks, "Why?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"I want Matt to be happy. This has been a wonderful meal, and no, I don't mean the food. I guess, I'm just starting to see what he saw in you, back in college. I don't know, maybe you two are still destructive, maybe it'll end up being a huge mistake, but I want him to be happy, and I want you to be happy, and if you can be happy together, that's great." He took a sip of his wine, enjoying it, and glad for the alcoholic courage. He needed it.

Elektra has posed:
Her lips press along a thin line of discontent. It's a rare moment of expression that passes the facade. "Funny you should say that now, when it's almost meaningless." the rest of her expression is buried in a sip of the wine. She hasn't made any move towards eating any dessert herself.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
That came as a surprise to Foggy, so much so that he leaned back in his seat, and raised and eyebrow in disbelief. He doesn't let it phase him for very long, trying to turn on the old Foggy charm, hoping to cheer her up. "All right gorgeous, out with it. Lay it on me. What happened?"

Elektra has posed:
She could, and should, brush it all aside, making light of it. A joke. Let him believe she was having him on, or that whatever it was didn't matter. Was a lie. And yet? For some reason Elektra found herself remaining present and true. "What always happens, Foggy. We're two pressure fronts colliding." She smiles softly, then, looking past him, out into the autumn darkness. "It was a beautiful goodbye, though."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Maybe it's just a matter of time. You could try again, see how it goes? I'm a lawyer. Everything's negotiable and no always means maybe." He wishes he were a good enough lawyer for that to be true. "Or, maybe it's just not meant to be. I read this thing about yin and yang," and yes, he was about to explain it to her, of all people. "Two seemingly opposite or contrary forces can actually be complimentary, interconnected, and interdependent. You and Matt, maybe you are contrary, maybe you're far more similar than you think. I don't know. But Elektra, you're a yin. You need to find your yang."

Elektra has posed:
Elektra allows a brief smile to fall upon him. Even lets a moment of her sadness touch it, and then as quickly as it was there, it is gone again, and she's calm, cool, and collected. "You should stick to truths, Foggy. Lies hardly become you. And you're a better lawyer without them. People depend upon that. That's why I want you and Matt to front this Foundation."

It's not the only reason, but it is one of them.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy was a better person than she was giving him credit for, and he didn't buy it. "I am sticking to the truth. I haven't lied to you yet, and I don't intend to start now. You're rich, get someone in here with a polygraph if you don't believe me. I bet this place even has one on standby, just in case a patron has a need of it." The these prices, they really should.

Elektra has posed:
He's considered before she shrugs. "Fine. You believe it. It won't change what's happened, though. Look at it this way, you said I could be more. Maybe this is my small nod towards that. Though really, one begins to believe in the wisdom of never letting him know. He's just going to come to the wrong conclusions."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"With every decision we make, our world changes a little. Make enough decisions, and the world around us changes to follow suit. Give it time." Had he been closer, he would have offered her a hug or something, but they were at a table, and it would be very awkward for him to drag his chair over to her. He just wanted her to feel better. He hated to see people in pain.

Elektra has posed:
There's a negligent shrug from Elektra as she dismisses the idea. "It's a nice notion. I've just learned nice notions don't actually amount to much." He gets an almost smile from her. "Your idealism is charming. I just don't see the point. And none of this reflects upon or changes what I proposed to you."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy was probably going to try and sell the idea to Matt about the charity, even if he had to explain Elektra's involvement. It was a good thing, even if he might have had issues with her. And really, he was having fewer issues with her. An evening in her company saw to that. She's delightful. "That's good, because people need your help. Okay, you don't see the point. Are you willing to explore it? Let's do this again? Lunch, shopping, an ice hockey game?" He wanted to see her again, maybe he could help mend the fences. Damn, he was a sucker for a pretty face and a sad story.

Elektra has posed:
It's almost as though she'd forgotten the tickets (but let's be honst, she's who she is; nothing was left to chance, and the tickets were never forgotten). "I noticed the seats when unused. If you like, I can have them available for you any home game you wishh. I'm sure that you can find someone to go with you. I'm afraid it's not really my cup of tea. They came with the last business I acquired."

Her wine is sipped at agaain, but seems to have lost its favour with her, as she puts the glass down, and her napkin upon the table. "I'll give you lunch, but none of this addresses the small matter of the Foundation."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy Nelson had been an enforcer in his youth, the kind of guy who didn't have a whole lot of talent, so made up for it with his fists, but he did have a wicked slap shot, a lot of power, for a kid. He knew hockey and he liked it. "The Gotham Knights are coming soon, how about that game, and maybe I could help teach you the game. It's actually pretty exciting. Come on, it's not like I can invite my partner." It was just cruel to invite Matt to a visual thing. He meant no offence, but it just didn't work that way. "Lunch would be nice too, and the foundation, I'm... in favour of it, but I will have to speak to my partner about it. We discuss a lot of things. Not sure what I'm going to say about tonight though."

Elektra has posed:
"Say whatever you want," Elektra says simply, as though it isn't a concern of hers. "Though I do believe this means I win the bet?" Again, she arches a brow aat him. Her wineglass is regarded a moment, then the thought is dismissed, the woman merely settling back in her seat, watching him. "Hockey. You wish me to come watch a hockey game with you."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy was hoping that she had forgotten that little bit. He nodded his head, but was it that she won the bet, or about hockey. "Yeah, come on, Gotham has a pretty good team this year. Join me for a hockey game. See what it's all about. I can explain it if you don't know the sport. Plus, it's always good to see a sport with someone who's passionate about it. One of these days, I have to see a soccer game with someone who loves that sport." And, just so they're clear, he added, "and yeah, I guess I owe you a favour." He was a man of his word.

Elektra has posed:
"Euuropean football. You'd be surprised at the passion for the sport. However, I'm not certain I appreciate the matter as much as some."

He gets something of an amused chuckle, "I don't see how my wining the bet earns you taking me to see a hockey game. But perhaps you can earn it. Tell me, what are you going to say to Matt?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"I... really don't know. The truth, I guess." He was really uncertain about that. It was a lot to take in. How would Matt respond. "It, really depends on how Matt reacts early on."

Elektra has posed:
Elektra contemplates that, growing quiet before she shrugs and dismisses any untoward notions she may have. "And if he says no?" Not that she has an intention of letting that stop her. She's committed to the plan now. He might never forgive her, but she has full plans on making this happen. The worst, she tells herself, is it will cement his hatred of her; forever paint her what he's always suspected. In truth, she's not entirely certain why she's doing it anymore. She just can't stop herself.

Foggy Nelson has posed:
"Then I'll do what I can. If Nelson and Murdock can't help people with the use of this foundation's funding, then I'll make sure to find a suitable firm that can." He trusts her to care more about the goals, rather than her own, and in fact, if Matt said no, and she funded another firm, he'd probably be impressed by that action.

Elektra has posed:
"I suppose I will have to trust you, then won't I?" That smile remains, the one that doesn't really touch her eyes. And in this, they're slightly more guarded than usual. Elektra trusts no one. Perhaps not even Matt. Quite possibly not even herself. "You have a cell?"

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy reached into his jacket, and pulled out a card. He wasn't wealthy enough to have a work and a personal phone, so there was only one mobile number listed, but it had his info. "Here you go," he said as he handed it to her. "Call me, anytime, day or night."

Elektra has posed:
"Pen?" Elektra holds out a hand for him to hand over a pen, and when he does, she scribbles a number on the back of his card, handing it back. "Do use discretion. Let me know when there's a home game and I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, I expect to hear from you about your progress with Matthew. I have others to begin wooing."

Foggy Nelson has posed:
Foggy thought he was giving her his number, but she gave him hers. He looked to it, glad, and a little surprised. "All right," he even mouthed a 'wow' under his breath. "I will," use discretion, "I promise. And you will hear. It's... yeah, it'll be something." He was even a little disappointed, or was that jealously, when she mentioned wooing someone else. Damn, she was intoxicating. No wonder Matt was like a moth to a flame.

Elektra has posed:
There's a subtle gesture from the woman, and the waitstaff come and clear the dishes away, one asking in a murmur if she would like coffee to be brought. To which she shakes her head. "I believe we're done here, thank-you."

There's a nod, and the two are left alone with only the flickering candles, and hte increasingly more chill night air. No mention of a bill - of course, she'd have made arrangments. Or put it upon account. Money was the filthy thing the filthy rich didn't talk about. Accounts merely got paid by someone paid to make certain that they did, without bothering people like her with the business of it.
