Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Troia, Hawkeye (Bishop)

Troia has posed:
It had been some time since Donna had caught up with Kate for lunch. With the chaos of the Apokalypse invasion and other duties, the two had been too busy until now.

Sitting at a table in one of the high rise restaurants in New York City that affords an amazing view of the entire city and surrounding areas, Donna sipped at a glass of wine while she waited for her friend to arrive. She day dreamt, staring out at the city below, watching the speck-like people and vehicles hurry along to whatever destination. From up here it was all quite zen and relaxing, really.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate was thrilled to get an invitation to spend some time with Donna, especially after everything that had happened recently. She even took the time to stop by a salon, something she hadn't done in weeks.

She entered the restaurant and spoke to the hostess, who had someone lead her to the appropriate table. Kate had dressed up, a dark pencil skirt, sensible shoes as usual, a silvery silk blouse.

"Hello, Donna." she said softly, intruding on Donna's peaceful reverie.

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy heard her name and looked up to see Kate. She smiled large and stood up, "Kate!" Stepping away from the table she moved to hug the other. "It's good to see you. I was so happy when you said you were available today. With everything lately it has been hard to keep up."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate embraces the other woman. "I'm glad you did." she says, then she steps back a bit and looks Donna over, still hodling her shoulders. "You look lovely as always." she adds with a smile. "How've you been, beautiful?" she reluctantly lets the Amazon go and moves to sit. "It's been too long."

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy smiles, blushing a little at the compliments. "I am too. And so do you. Always fashionable in your designer labels" she dotes then moves to sit down again. The server comes over to get Kate's drink preference then leaves them to look over the menu. Donna nods. "Yes. with the end of the world almost upon us, and all.. it's been much too long. But now we can catch up." She smiles. "I had an interifew with Emma Frost of Frost International. I'm waiting for word back but there is a good chance I may be offered something in their advertising division. And I've gotten word on publishing my photo book. I received a small advance and they plan to go to printing in two weeks. So it won't be very long until it's done." She's trying very hard to remain calm and business like.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate orders something non-alcoholic, as she isn't quite old enough yet. "Frost? Oh. I've met her in passing. She seemed very aloof, and I can't say that she seemed very pleasant, but I'm glad there's an opportunity." She perks up at the mention of the book deal. "Really? That's amazing, Donna! I'm so happy for you!" and she reaches across the table to put her hand down, palm up, hoping that Donna will take it.

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy smiles. "She is not as... difficult.. as she seems. She is very focused and driven and it is unsettling to those who imagine her to be more personable, I completely agree. But we'll see. I'm waiting to hear back." She smiles and takes Kate's hand naturally. "Thank you. I'm trying not to get too excited. There are always pitfalls and delays in publishing. But I'm hopeful. There is, at least, an ending in sight now!"

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"I knew it would happen eventually. You're talented, really. How can people pass up your photos? And to be cynical, you are who you are... just being connected to Diana will sell oodles of copies. I would be that will be part of their ad campaign in bookstores." Kate says, smiling to achknowledge the server as they bring her drink. "Have you been here before? What's good?"

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy smiles. "There are far more talented photographers and journalists out there than I who still struggle to get their work published. Nothing is owed to me. I have to pay my dues just as the next person. But I *AM* thankful and excited." She then nods, "I have, once. The salmon was amazing. They bring it in fresh daily, caught off of Alaska I think? But I haven't heard anyone dislike a meal here." She smiles. "I think I'm going to do the salmon again because I did enjoy it so much last time. And the view. Well.. it's not quite the same as flying out there, the wind in your face. The sun on your skin. But it's very close. And you don't have to worry about your hair" she teases

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"Oh? The salmon sounds lovely. I think I'll order that too when they come around." Kate says. "I guess it _can_ be fun... flying, I mean... I just don't like the takeoffs or the landings. On a plane or a helicoptor it's fine, but having someone pick you up and fly around is something different." she adds, her smile weakening. "I always close my eyes really tightly and hold on for dear life. Once we get going it's better and I can look around, but it scares me. I know it sounds silly to admit it, but it's true. It's hard to breathe if the person carrying me is going too fast and all I can think about it is the red smear I'm going to be if I get dropped."

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy listens and smiles patiently. "Flying in an aircraft is not so different than being up here aside from the sense of motion and vibration and sound of the engines. Flying on my own? That is very different. There are only the sounds of nature. The wind. Birds even. It is peaceful. For me. But I recognize that such heights are not easy to face for those who do not fly themselves. But... I would think that anyone you let take you flying is not someone likely to remotely entertain the notion of letting you fall."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"Oh, I know. It was my friend America. We would go to emergencies together. I know she wouldn't let me get hurt. I trust her completely, like I do you. But... but I couldn't help it. It always happens - I imagine my head bursting open on the concrete." Kate says morbidly, shuddering. "Sorry. Not very appetizing, I know."

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy smiles gently and squeezes Kate's hand. "It's okay. We all have fears. I promise I won't ever take you flying unless it is to save your life unless you first ask me to. Okay?" She squeezes that hand again. "So. yes. Lunch. The salmon is wonderful. It's my treat. And no you don't get to protest or steal the check at the end.." she threatens merrily.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate opens her mouth immediately to protest but Donna shuts that down right away. "You're no fun." she says, but she's amused. "I have plenty of money, Donna. Alright... but you have to let me treat sometime." She returns the hand-squeeze. "I trust you. I'd go flying with you if wanted. Maybe you'd do it differently than America? HEr flying seems to be more she's defying physics to tell her she can't go where she wants to... maybe your flying is gentler?"

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy shoots right back, "I'm a lot of fun. You just haven't asked me how much fun I am, yet!" A playful grin accompanys the brilliant retort. "You have plenty of money yes. And now so do I. I invited you. It's my treat. That's how it works." A head bob for emphasis. "I don't know if I fly differently. I just.. fly. If you want to some time I am happy to take you flying. But I won't push you to do it."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate waggles her eyebrows a moment at Donna's retort that she is indeed fun. "I hope I'll find out soon. How much fun are you, then?" she does ask, grinning. "Sometime. Maybe we can make a date of it... I'll make sure I don't eat before we do, just in case."

Troia has posed:
Donna Troy waves a hand dismissively, "Oh I'm a lot of fun. I stay home and sort photographs. Sometimes by color. Sometimes by theme. Other times by how many rocks or trees are in each one!" She leans in, eyes sparkling, "I am /absolutely/ thrilling." Then she leans in with a wicked grin. "I will stun you, I will!"

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"You already have." Kate says, leaning in as well. "But I'd be happy to sit with you sometime and spend the whole day looking at you... er, at your photos... your photos of things." she stammers. "You are thrilling, really." she says, almost whispering.

Troia has posed:
And just like that, a magic moment is unintentionally disrupted by a server. The meal arrives, all the aromas and visual delights of the dishes bringing with them a change of course. If only in the moment...
