Cast of Characters: Huntress, Catwoman

Huntress has posed:
Sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. Huntress isn't known for her ability to work and play well with others, and she certainly isn't one to ask for help. Usually. But in this case she has a very specific need that requires very specific assistance.

Word goes out through the proper channels, as well as some improper ones, that a certain vigilante is seeking to meet with a certain, exclusive burgular. About a job, of all things. Just enough information to be (hopefully) enticing to a certain, curious cat.

Upon a rooftop on the arranged night in Old Gotham, the masked Huntress waits. She picked this building for a couple of specific reasons. First, it's a bit taller than those around it, which gives a good field of fire. And second, it's pretty centrally located within the City. Being unsure WHO exactly will show up, Huntress is loaded for bear tonight. Instead of just her hand crossbow she's packing a bigger weapon, already loaded and cocked and resting upon her knee as she sits.

Catwoman has posed:
Showing up on time is so incredibly boring. No cat walks straight in toward a prize or prey without first scouting about. Studying.

After ten minutes, the sound of carbide claws trailing over the stone of the building is the only hint someone is here. Standing perhaps fifteen feel away, Catwoman regards The Huntress with interest.

"So. Batman's got you doing errands for him now as well? Or is this something you're doing behind his back?" She isn't sure which she likes or dislikes the most. So she crosses her arms idly across her stomach and waits for the heroine to respond.

Huntress has posed:
Huntress doesn't move, not even when she hears those claws. Truth be told, her reaction might've been quite different if she'd heard, say, grappling hooks instead. Her head turns towards the Cat as her contact arrives and announces herself.

She shifts, keeping the crossbow pointed down towards the roof. "I don't work for Batman." the Huntress declares simply. Their relationship is a lot more complicated, but apparently she's given enough leeway to operate in Gotham. After a fashion.

Rising slowly and deliberately, keeping the crossbow in easy view, she faces the Cat more directly. "I'm in need of someone with your particular talents, and I'm willing to compensate you well for your help." she begins. "I'll tell you up front that tt involves twisting the nose of the Gotham Mob, in case you've got any problem with that."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman purses her lips as she listens. "Interesting." She starts to walk. Slow and sauntering as if she were stalking prey. The truth is she likes to walk while she thinks. "So this isn't endorsed by The Big Bad Bat" she says with a smirk. "That alone has it's perks. The rest? Tweaking the Mob? That's just icing on the cake." She makes it to the other side of the rooftop before she stops and faces Huntress again. "Consider me interested. But let's hear the job before I confirm. What's a girl got to do?"

Huntress has posed:
Huntress keeps the crossbow lowered, watching and studying the cat burgular as she saunters closer. The woman in black and purple doesn't give ground or so much as flinch as Catwoman stops before her. Purple lips draw into a small smile at the response. "It's a simple B and E job, actually. There's something very specific that I'd like for you to remove from the premises of a very exclusive, heavily-guarded address." She pauses to let that sink in before adding. "It's definitely in the category of 'grand theft', but I don't think that's really going to bother you."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman listens and her smile turns into a grin. "You had me at Grand Theft, darling. So. What's the goal? I don't work work blindly. Certainly not with The Bat around. He is /so/ annoying. Trying to be all Boy Scout and preaching about how stealing is illegal and whatnot" she sighs exaggeratedly.

Huntress has posed:
Huntress chuckles at that, nodding. "Fair enough, Cat." There's no reluctance in her response. Perhaps she was just waiting to be asked? "There are two reasons for this, actually. The first is to send the message that the Don's security isn't foolproof. I want him to be concerned. Afraid, even. The second is a distraction. Or rather, I'll be the distraction. I'm going to hit him somewhere else at the same time. A two-pronged attack." Which is, of course, the real reason for calling in an outside contractor for help. Can't be two places at once, right?

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman listens and nods. "Alright. I get your goals. What is my target? What trinket am I lifting from his home, mmm?" She lifts her right hand, fingers arched fully as she critically inspects her claws. As if they would ever be less than clean.

Huntress has posed:
Huntress swings up the crossbow in a slow, casual movement to rest it upon her shoulder like a hunter would prop a shotgun. She gives the address from memory, which is in a -very- exclusive area just outside of Gotham. "I have it from a reliable source that the Don keeps a wall safe in his bedroom, behind a picture. It's full of very expensive jewelry; not his wife's but for his various mistresses. Take the most expensive and scatter the rest on the bed. Leave the safe open." She pauses for a moment to study the Cat's reaction before adding. "I don't want it fenced or even pawned. Keep it if you want, but I want it to -disappear-. Okay?"

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman listens. She nods to the address and the location. At the target, she offers up a predatory grin. "Oh, girly, I like you. But Mrs. Don won't like him much longer." Then she nods, "It'll disappear. And the rest will there waiting for his wife to walk in on. Do you want a calling card left behind? Something to offer him well wishes? Or is the open door enough?"

Huntress has posed:
Huntress laughs softly at that, shaking her head. "No calling card. I want him to feel helpless. To feel fear. To know that there's SOMEONE out there who can TAKE things from him whenever they want. And that there's nothing he can do about it." She shifts her weight, cocking a hip. "Make it look like it was done by a ghost. No traces. That's enough of a message."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman mock salutes. "Alright then. Now. As for payment..." She grins. Nothing is free after all. "Something like this is doable. But it isn't exactly stealing candy from a baby as they say."

Huntress has posed:
Huntress nods to that, tilting her head. "Of course not." Truth is, while Helena initially told herself this job was something Huntress could do she's really more *comfortable* leaving it in the hands of a... professional. "I've studied enough of your 'alleged' cases to know that you don't steal for the money, even though I'm prepared to offer you quite a lot." She pauses for a moment, then adds. "I'm prepared to offer a favor for a favor. I'm not the Bat, but I'm also not without my skills and resources. Think about it, or make a counter-offer."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman considers it and smiles. "Favor for a Favor. And I get to make a Don look like a fool. I agree to those terms." She then walks closer and offers her hand to shake on it. It isn't like it's a binding gesture but it is a formality. Perhaps she just wants to see if this vigilante will accept.

Huntress has posed:
Huntress reaches out to accept the offered hand, although she's careful of the claws. "We've got a deal, then. I'll give you a number to reach me, and you do the same. I suggest a dead-drop phone for now, but we can set something else up." She flashes a wide grin, then. "Look forward to working with you, Cat."
