Date of Scene: 16 October 2017
Location: BatCave
Synopsis: Damian and Babs chat; some beans are spilled.
Cast of Characters: Oracle, Robin (Wayne)

Oracle has posed:
Barbara's cycle is kept in the same garage -- she only uses it as Batgirl, although she's starting to think perhaps about getting a street ride too. That's neither here nor there today. As she walks into the Cave, she's mentally readying herself for several different activities, among them a desire to park herself in front of the computers. She's got a casefile from the GCPD that she wants to wade through and use the superior computing power down in the Cave to check up on a hunch.

That thought process is derailed almost completely as she spots the youngest member of the clan working on the bike. The tall redhead drops her backpack off her shoulder and slides it up against the wall near the doorway and heads his way, leaning one hip on the bike parked behind him while she looks over his shoulder. Just loud enough to be heard despite the earbuds, she asks, "Did you blow out the disc on them again?" She occasionally gives him crap for riding his brakes too much.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian's piercing green eyes look to Barbara, a scoff at the question of his bike's discs. "Yeah, right. And Goliath is just my puppy." A small pause before he continues to work. "I'm making an adjustment to improve the regeneration." Damian crouches down and fits the part back on. "What are you doing here so early?" No chiding, no snarky comment. Just a question, veiled by a smidge of sarcasm.

Oracle has posed:
"Just some research," Barbara replies, watching his hands work. "I wanted to see if I could backtrace a paper trail that has me annoyed to death -- didn't have time to finish before I needed to come in, so I thought I'd use the higher-power data crunching here."

She grins a bit and then adds with regard to the bike, "If it does improve it, would you mind taking a look at mine? I noticed last night that she's got a bit of a drag on the release coming out of the skid. I was going to take a closer look at it this weekend, but ... honestly, you'll probably see the rough spot better than I will." He's proven that he's quite adept at the moving parts on the bikes, and although Babs is competant, he's more than that.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Ratcheting his spanner, Damian gives a nod. "What are you trying to track?" Robin asks, a bit more intrigued by the puzzle now.

"I'll let you know once I have a chance to test out this new configuration." Looks like today is a good day for Damian, he's not too angry or bloodthirsty.

Oracle has posed:
She well remembers teenaged-boyness... Dick was an emotional mess, though not nearly as bloodthirsty as Damian. She takes the win where she can find it. "It's looking like a simple insurance fraud case, but they sent it to me because the cybercrimes unit is having trouble with the paper trail. They've backtracked it to a shell company in Metropolis, but they're stonewalled." Barbara makes a point of not talking down to Damian -- nothing ticks off a Robin faster than that. "You're welcome to peer over my shoulder if you like -- it's nothing really interesting, though."

There's a pause and she considers whether to even ask him a question. Sometimes it seems like any little show of interest will set him off. Ah well. So be it. "I stopped off in Bludhaven to see Dick this week... he mentioned that things had sorted out," she ventures. "You okay?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"Oh, did he care to tell you how he signed his own death warrant with Lady Shiva?" Damian immediately quips, short and pointed right at his big brother. "And How He is going to duel her to the death?" Damian rolls his eyes, holding up his hands. "And who does he know that could get him out of that situation very easily? Hmm. I fucking wonder who." A moment before Damian meanders to the armory, grabbing two batarangs and holding them in his fist. "So you can tell Grayson that if he insists on following through with this bullshit scheme and not die, he's going to need to come to me." My what a rant.

Oracle has posed:
Well now.... that's not exactly what Dick said. Not surprisingly. But Barbara's pretty good at keeping her face schooled -- no point in letting him see that she's gonna head for Bludhaven and rip a former Robin's head off for him. Instead she merely says, "No, actually he didn't mention that part. I'll pass along the message." Tilting her head, she asks, "Out of curiosity, are you thinking you can get him out of it by fighting? Or did you have something else in mind?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"While I know I can easily better him in weapons combat..." Damian gives a bit of a sigh. "I was going to use my name to get him out of it." Not Damian Wayne, Damian al Ghul, Heir to the Demon's Head.

A moment of self reflection before he continues, a tone of genuine concern here. "He saved me from getting killed once, when I was very new, not even Robin at the time. So if can help him here...I will."

Oracle has posed:
Pulling in a breath, Barbara nods slightly. "I will definitely pass along that information when I see him next." Which may be far sooner than Nightwing was counting on. She isn't sure how best to handle her thoughts on what Damian's shared. "I'm not sure I'll be able to beat sense into his thick head -- much like certain other people in this Cave, he's rather obdurate at times. But... I'll definitely do what I can. And just because he might not say it... thank you for the offer, Damian. I wish...." //all the males in this place were a little less stubborn.//

Shaking her head and dropping that line of thought without actually saying it, Barbara changes the subject. "What time are you heading out tonight?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian gives a nod, rather solemnly. He wouldn't tell anyone, but he did hold each of the members of the Bat family in his heart, and of any of them were in mortal danger, he'd perhaps do what he swore not to do again. "I'm going to probably let Goliath stretch his wings tonight, so once the sun sets." In answer to Barbara's question.

Oracle has posed:
Barbara smiles. "Maybe we'll cross paths on patrol, then. I'll be later than that -- not going to hit the roofs until after 9. If you need eyes in the sky before that, sing out." She moves to walk toward the main door. "Let me get this other thing taken care of for the day job... I'll see you later on, Damian."
