Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Shadowcat

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had the day off from her college courses in Manhattan so she'd come up to the school to see how people were doing and to check with a couple of the teachers on some matters that she felt needed to be looked in on.

Once here though, she just couldn't help but take some time to come out to the stables and check on her favoritest people at the school... the horses!

the stables were a popular place for some of the students who liked to tend to the animals, and Rogue had been one of those students when she was a Senior here earlier this year.

As such, Marie is standing near one of the stalls where a large brown/black haired horse was pinned up, his name was Skyrider and he was Marie's favorite. She's got a hair brush out and is picking some hair out of it with her ungloved hands while the horse is eating from his bucket.

"Ya don't write, ya don't call... How am I supposed t'know how you're doin'?" She chided the horse as he ate, and he just flicked his tail around behind him.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty isn't the most horse-crazy student around, but she does her turn at mucking when necessary. And today she's decided to see what state the place is in just because... well, there's something very simple about combing out horses and feeding and watering them when you're trying to think about stuff. It's a surprise when she spots Rogue there, and she smiles. "Well, hey stranger.... I was hoping you'd pop up here sometime soon. I haven't talked to you in a while." Not since, you know, sending her condolences.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue would turn away from the horse when she heard the voice, still holding the big hair brush and she spotted Kitty and a smile spread over her lips. "Well heya, Missy." Marie said back at her. She glanced at the horse and motioned at him with the brush. "Sky here sent me an E-mail, said I needed t'come take care'a him cause nobody around here knew how t'do it as well as me." She added, showing Kitty a grin. Rogue would nod her head at her friend then once. "Hows things?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty shrugged and moved over to stand near Rogue. "It's going... pretty amazing, honestly. It's a little weird being home for good. Different footing, you know?" Three years of school with only visits between to come home for summers and breaks and heroing... well, it's a little awkward. "I always kinda feel like a kid whenever I'm here, but ... I'm not. So, it's sort of an adjustment." She heard through the grapevine that Rogue had gone back to school. "How about you? Are you starting to settle in with the new classes and stuff?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue leaned to her left against the big wooden gate that was at the front of the horse's pen and she listened to Kitty while idly picking hair out of the thick bristles. "Well, one thing I know is that everyone's happier when Kitty Pryde is back here." She said with a sly grin. "You're loved here, people are always chattin' about ya." She gave the other girl a warm smile then and a single nod of her head. "School's goin' alright for me in the city. I mean, how can I complain when some mysterious guy is payin' for me t'go to NYU of all places? Most folks back home, probalby neve'ah would'a even thought I'd go to a community college, let alone some big Manhattan affair." She shrugged her shoulders then and glanced down to the brush in her hands. "I miss this place though. Feels weird bein' away from it."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty blushes at the comment that people are happy to see her. It's been really good to get home, but she can definitely relate to the 'weird factor with regard to going off to school and feeling strange not being here. And then there's a blink and Kitty says, "Wait, what?" Some mysterious guy? "What do you mean, some mysterious guy is paying for it?" Honestly, she assumed that it was the Professor. It makes her worry, and Rogue can see it. "It's not... It's a scholarship or something?" she asks. We've all got so many enemies, of course she's worried!

Rogue has posed:
Rogue would show a lopsided grin at this question then and she'd shake her head side to side once before replying while looking downward. "Nah, nobody would give a screw up lik em a scholarship. Nah..." She looked back up at Kitty then. "Its this guy I met in Paris. He's been letting me stay at his house in the city and is putting me through college. He lives in Greenwich Village, which is right next to the school's campus. I know, it sounds totally creepy... but, well, he kinda saved my life. For no real reason eithe'ah, just cause he saw me in trouble and he stepped in to help." She'd shrug her shoulders then. "Kind've a hard deal t'turn down, ya know? Free school, at a place like NYU and... I mean, he lives in a big place." She glanced around. "Not as big as THIS place, but... yeah."

Shadowcat has posed:
Biting her lip, Kitty realizes she hasn't been here long enough to have any clue whether anyone like Jean or the Prof checked into the situation... or whether Rogue asked them to. Or whether she should bring it up, even. After all, what business is it of hers? But there's a bit of an expression on her face that conveys a little bit of her dithering. "He's being good to you?" is what the young woman chooses to ask. Maybe it's just really hard to accept that sometimes people are just nice.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue grinned at Kitty and nodded her head. "Yeah... Its not romantic or worse, nothin' like that. He's some kinda wizard... guy... he knows magic, and not like those nerds on stages pullin' animals out of their clothes. Like, legit, magic. The kind a Lord of the Rings convention would squeal over." She showed a larger smile then and reached up to brush her white bangs on the right side of her face back behind her ear there. "He gave me this room in his hosue, for exmaple... that lets me just say a word and it'll change inta anything I want it t'be. Like a house in the French countryside, to a... I don't know... a tree house on Mars." Poor Rogue, there are no trees on Mars.

Shadowcat has posed:
Tilting her head, Kitty nods a little bit and smiles. "It sounds wonderful. As long as you're happy, Rogue -- I never even knew you wanted to go back to school. What'd you decide to study?" She climbs up and perches on the door to the stall behind her, pulling a couple of lumps of sugar from her pocket for the horse inside there so she doesn't headbutt Kitty's behind off the door looking for treats.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue would just face Kitty and lean back against the stall that Skyrider was in, he was happily still eating his food and eavesdropping on the two girls as they talked. Rogue shrugged again. "That home economics teache'ah here? The one from an alternative timeline? She said the version'a me she knew... was a French teache'ah. So thats kinda stuck with me, I think I might be goin' for a teachin' degree. See if I can't teach somewhere someday. But, I mean, I'm happy enough. Its weird though, ya know." Rogue glanced out at the exit back into the garage. "I used t'be okay with bein' alone, but since comin' t'this place, now I feel a lot more 'alone' when I'm alone." She'd look back to Kitty then. "If that makes any sense at all..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty laughs quietly. "Yeah," she acknowledges. "Yeah, that makes a lot more sense to me than maybe to some other people.... when you're always alone, you don't feel lonely. When you've had a team and a family around you all the time and suddenly find yourself alone... it's different. Lonely." She nods a little. "That's how I felt in England too. It was hard to go back after the summer every year."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue grinned at the other girl and she nodded two quick and short times. "Exactly. I mean, I got some new friends in Manhattan, but new friends kinda feel weird'n such. But maybe I just haven't given it enough time yet... I don't know. I get a lotta questions, cause'a my gloves on warm days, and I try not t'talk about the mutant thing cause in the city ya got a lotta folks that don't really care for mutants. Which just makes me wanna stay in my weird magic anything room'n hide, which... then leads to the loneliness." She grinned a little more. "I don't know, just gotta focus on my work." She'd exhale then. "I'd like t'go to England someday though. At least for a few days."

Shadowcat has posed:
"I would love to take you to the cool places in England that I saw, Rogue," Kitty tells her with a grin. "And... well, maybe your friend can help us find a better way to keep your powers in check if you want? Or... maybe I can research one. The new job is at STAR Labs, they do tons of work on stuff..." It's just an offer.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue would grin about the part with England and she'd nod once to it, but when Kitty moved on to her powers and such, Rogue would dip her hand into her black hoodie's left pocket and pull out a small dark grey bracelet / bangle. "I got this from Doctor McCoy for my... failed weddin' gift." She told the other. "If I slip it on, it suppresses my mutation and everything associated with it. But... only for four hours, 'nd it takes twelve t'fully charge back up."

She glanced down at the bracelet and rolled it around on bare fingers. "Its been a big help, but still, ya know, limitations." She looked back up over at Kitty then. "I'm kinda freaked out by laboratories though... Fraid I'd go inta one and not eve'ah be seen again."

Shadowcat has posed:
"Oh, you wouldn't have to go to it." Kitty would never expose Rogue like that. "I'll talk to Hank and see how he did it, and then I'll see if I can use the research STAR is doing to improve on it -- I get a pretty wide-open field with my research, so your name won't ever be attached, Rogue. I promise!" She looks kind of excited by the possibility of being able to help -- she knows how hard Rogue has had it with her powers. "If you're okay with me doing it, that is. I mean... I don't want to just assume you want me to butt in," she hastens to add.

Rogue has posed:
Anna-Marie would just grin at Kitty's words and she'd shake her head side to side. "Nah. I don't mind a bit, if I don't gotta actually go somewhere 'nd do the whole medical gown thing... thats when I get all headshakey and run-away-y." Rogue would then slip the bracelet back into her hoodie's side pocket. "I knwo that Hank's been workin' hard t'try'n help me too, eve'ah since I came here... But he's a busy fella, and he's just one science-type, so there's only so much he can do. Havin' more on the job'a fixin' my situation, totally fine with me." She'd show a warm smile to her friend. "Thanks, Kitty. For ya know... carin'."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty is touched. "I always cared.... I just wasn't ever the right person to help with it," she admits. Jumping down off the horse stall, though, she grins. "Text me -- I'd love to catch up with you down in Manhattan, and I'll be out and around a lot. I can work from anywhere now." She does the impetuous and hugs Rogue briefly, careful to keep clear of skin contact and all, but she shows no fear either. "Seriously... I want to spend more time. OKay?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue walks into the room and wav-- is hit by a bean!

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's classes were out on this fall afternoon and she was taking a moment to relax at an outside table in front of the pretty popular street-side business called the 'Big Gay Ice Cream Shop'.

Rogue has a cup of bright yellow and pink ice cream sitting in front of her, and a tablet pc out. She's leaning back in her chair and has her legs crossed at the knees. She's wearing a black hoodie zipped up halfway up her torso, some blue jeans on her lower half and brown leather boots. Rogue's hair is tied back into a ponytail but the white bangs are framing her face and gently blowing in the breezes as she sits there enjoying her ice cream while reading something on the little handheld device.
