Cast of Characters: Raven, 232, 203

Raven has posed:
Gwenn is waiting in line at the Academy's cafeteria for lunch when she feels a quick, not entirely pleasant tap on her shoulder. One tap, like a poke or a peck. It shouldn't be much surprise to turn around and see Rachel standing there; it should be a somewhat bigger surprised to see her standing there with one hand out to her side, holding a too-tall pizza box in her palm like a waiter carrying a tray of glasses, the name "Original Ollie's," Metropolis's most famous and arguably best pizza place, on it. She nods a greeting at Gwenn. "Hi," creaks the girl Gwenn met once, at a school speaking function, for about ten minutes, if that. "I got pizza. You want to go outside and have some?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn has had a long night and a very good long sleep afterwards to shake off the aftermath. Her body still has a little excess mana pent up after... what happened. That isn't a real bad thing though. As she waits in line for her food, her mind is wondering. How could she have shown that to Miss Frost. More importantly, How did she walk away from that without so much as a scratch! Gwenn had taken out enemies who were a lot bigger then Emma is!

When she gets tapped on the shoulder she turns to see Rachel. She smiles a little, "Hey Rachel." At the prospect of good pizza over school lunch, she is definitely all for it. "Sure!" With that she follows Rachel out of the building.

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont is standing around outside, arms folded beneath her bust. She scans the crowds for a moment, but once she spots Rachel, she unfolds her arms and steps closer. She certainly seems a little overdressed for the campus, wearing a formal button-up shirt with a short skirt, but she seems comfortable enough. "Ah, Rachel, I was looking for you." She turns her head to look at Gwenn. "Or is this a bad time?"

Raven has posed:
Rachel nods at Gwenn. "Okay. Grab some napkins, please. I'll go find a tree." What a weird thing to say; but she's gone, heading out to campus, carrying the presumably deep dish pizza in one hand. She's not running or even jogging, but she does walk with purpose, and when Gwenn catches up, Rachel is sitting ankles over knees under a particularly large patch of shade, pizza box set aside. A rather older woman who's overdressed for the campus is with her, to whom Rachel is talking. "No, it's fine. What do you need, Erin?"

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
"I've just been meditating more. I'd had hoped to show you what I've accomplished so far, but I suppose I shouldn't eat up your lunch time." There's a pause. She smirks. "No pun intended. And I've tried exercising, but, ah...I don't have tje right outfits for that sort of thing."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson nods and goes to grab some napkins. She is moving at a leasurely pace. JUst enjoying the day really. Quickly she walks outside. Hey, That was Deepdish! In an area known for New York style pizza?! This is definitely worth moving quick for.

As she finds Rachel she spies Erin. Yikes. Top heavy! She doesn't say this of course. She simply moves and sits down beside Rachel. "Got the napkins, Oh umm Hello?" She greets Erin, having no idea who she is.

Raven has posed:
Rachel nods at Gwenn. Her empathy picks up something in Gwenn she finds mildly amusing, but she keeps it to herself; the only hint is a certain wryness as she introduces, "Erin, Gwenn. Gwenn, my student Erin." The woman at least five years older than either of the teens is a student of Rachel's? Huh. "Erin, Gwenn and I were going to eat. You can have my share of the pizza. I was only going to eat to be polite anyway." There's plenty of pizza there for three, but whatever.

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont nods politely to Gwenn, then holds out her hand to shake. It's well manicured, though lacking nail polish. "Erin Beaumont. And...yes, I suppose you could say that." She smirks down at Rachel, then shakes her head. "I'll pass. I'd rather not risk getting grease on my white shirt." She sighs. "Lord knows I don't need that kind of attention," she mutters, albeit not inaudibly.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson smiles a little, "A pleasure to meet you, Erin." She smiles and then, she looks at Rachel curiously, "You weren't going to eat? Why get a whole big pizza if??" She asks curiously. THen Erin gets her attention with the grease comment. She can't help but glance at her chest for a moment before looking back to her eyes. "Err. Okay umm.. We do have some napkins?"

Raven has posed:
Rachel cocks an eyebrow at Gwenn, an expression weirdly reminiscent of a shrug. "For you to enjoy," she explains. "I try to avoid meat for the sake of spiritual purity. A pizza isn't going to tip me over the edge or anything, but it's a hard habit to break." She doesn't comment on Erin's blouse or the cleanliness thereof, at least not directly, but she is curious enough to ask, "So what do you eat, if you're afraid of liquid on your blouse?"

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont frowns ever so slightly as Gwenn lowers her gaze, then looks over at Rachel. "Less messy foods. Bagels, sandwiches, some types of salad. At least ranch on my shirt wouldn't be as obvious as grease or tomato sauce is..."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson blinks, "Oh umm. Okay!" She looks at Erin noticing that slight frown, "Sorry." She quietly sits there and opens the pizza. No plates? No problem. Mana builds around her hand and takes the form of a disc. She pulls out a slice and offers the mana plate to Rachel and Erin.

Raven has posed:
Her face remains as impassive as ever at Erin's explanation, but the wryness creeps back into Rachel's voice as she tells Erin, "Add this proverb to your meditations while you build your mindscape: 'If you've eaten poisoned rice, then be sure to lick your plate.'" She holds up a 'thanks but no thanks' hand to Gwenn, instead saying, "You enjoy. I took a guess about whether you'd like it. How is it?"

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont rolls her eyes and takes the offered mana-plate. She still mutters a "thanks" to Gwenn before lifting the plate up to her face and biting into the pizza. She chews and swallows before speaking. "I suppose that makes sense. If it's been poisoned and you're about to die, you may as well enjoy your last meal. What does that have to do with my mindscape?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson smiles and nods. Quietly she forms another disc and puts another slice on the new disc. She takes a bite of the pizza and smiles bright. "Mmmmm This is delicious Rachel! Thank you!" she takes another bite of the deep dish. Its definitely not something she's used to having. "I think this may be better then New York Style."

A few miles away, an entire city stops and gasps over such heresy.

Raven has posed:
Rachel glances at Gwenn to make sure the (slightly) younger woman can hear this, then explains to Erin, "The proverb isn't about fatalism. It's about commitment. No matter how skilled or powerful you are, one day, you're going to do something that will end in your death. When that day comes, focus on it the way you focused on everything else. No half-measures. You're either in it or you're not." With that wisdom imparted, she turns back to Gwenn. "I'm glad you like it," she says. "You preferred thinner pizza until now?"

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont chews on her pizza again, canting her head this way and that as she considers the message. "Hrm. I suppose. Still, I can't train for endurance until I get a swimsuit that fits me. Lord knows I'm not -running-." She scoffs and takes another bite. For as much as she denied the pizza initially, she does seem to be enjoying it.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
"I didn't have anything for comparison. I never really had deep dish until now." Gwenn smiles. "That does make a lot of sense though. If you're going to do something and you only go in half, You run a greater risk of getting really hurt. Plus you could wind up like that ruler whose name escapes me. He ingested MORE poison then needed to kill him. As such he got sick and expelled the poison, surviving it."

Raven has posed:
Rachel raises her eyebrows at Gwenn. "I hadn't heard that story. I'll have to look it up." It's nice to have something to learn. she looks back at Erin. "What's stopping you from getting a swimsuit? Don't make enough money to afford one?"

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont looks over at Rachel with a flat look. "They don't tend to make swimsuits in a P-cup. And I am -not- built for running. I can take the stares my way when I'm in a bikini, but I'd rather not have my knees use my breasts as punching bags." She grumpily bites into her crust.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson winces, "Ummm Perhaps a umm Reduction wouldn't be the worst idea?" SHe asks curiously. Part of her feeling bad for even suggesting such a thing. She nibbles at her pizza. It might be worth knowing that there is still energy around her hands, glowing away.

Raven has posed:
Rachel watches Gwenn eat. "I asked that too," she says. "She said she doesn't want to cut parts of herself off, because they're parts of herself. I don't get it, but to each her own." Yeah, there's something about this coldly calm girl that suggests she's chop off any part of herself that started to be trouble.

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont hunches grumpily. "Yeah, basically." She sighs, then turns to Rachel and adds, "I'd also rather you avoid discussing our conversations about private matters in public." She holds the mana disc out to Gwenn. "Thank you again for the plate. Quite an interesting power."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson looks at Erin and smiles, "Its okay. I'm not going to say anything." She looks at Rachel, "If you'd like to try a slice I can make another disc for you." She smiles. Then to Erin, "Its like magic. I manipulate mana. Ya know? Life Energy. I do a lot more with it then make plates." She giggles.

Raven has posed:
When Erin chastises her, Rachel shoots Gwenn an ironic look, if a somewhat obscure one, but she apologizes without complaint or defense. "Okay. Sorry." She takes the hint at Gwenn's giggle, and asks, "Like what?"

Erin Beaumont (203) has posed:
Erin Beaumont nods to Gwenn. "Beyond my expertise. Anyway, thank you for the pizza, Rachel. I should be off." She nods her head, then turns and steps off, heels clicking against the concrete.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson makes Erin's 'plate' disappear as she walks away. "Well, shields, I can do this too." Her hands ignite with pink mana again. The pizza lifts as does the napkins and a few other random objects. They begins floating around before setting back down. "I can track most anything. As long as I have something that belongs to them, I can find them." SHe shrugs. "A lot of other stuff too. I also have my spell book which I can use."

Raven has posed:
Rachel nods. "I hope you keep a close eye on the spell book. Lots of people around who want to steal magic relics."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson nods, "I'm well aware of that. I keep it on me at all times because of that. It originally belonged to a mage named Charmcaster. She really didn't like me. I still dunno how I upset her but. Damn she was mad! She was using magic against me. Between my friends and cousin, we beat her. We took her spellbook so she wouldn't be a threat anymore. I started studying it and teaching myself magic. I mean I can use it but I'm not as good as a lot of others."

Raven has posed:
"Makes sense," Rachel says, nodding. "Self-taught people are never as good at something as someone who's been taught by a teacher who knows what she's doing. You haven't been able to find a teacher?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson shruge, "Thats where my Grandma Verdona comes in. She wants me to come and stay with her a while. She could teach me which would be beneficial but that would mean that I can't go out and help others. Its rough." She thinks, "I use what I can do a lot. I dunno. I should probably find a teacher with it some day."

Raven has posed:
An 'oh' expression crosses Rachel's face. "Right, you mentioned her yesterday. I forget how it came up." She falls quiet for a minute, looking around, trying to find inspiration for something else to talk about.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson smiles, "Like I said, If I do that, I likely won't be myself anymore when I come back. There will be that much difference from her lessons." She sighs a little. "Anyway. What brought you to the Academy?"

Raven has posed:
Rachel looks relieved as you come up with a topic. Conversation isn't her strong suit. "I met Headmistress Frost by accident. She saw herself in me, and wanted to train me. I have certain problems with emotional release that she wants to correct. I should probably be annoyed she thinks I'm broken and need fixing, but the rest of it's a good idea."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson nods slowly as she thinks. The one person who knows her big secret being brought up. She looks down and snags another slice of pizza. "Miss. Frost tested me last night. She wanted to find out what I can do. I actually was kind of cared to be honest."

Raven has posed:
"Sounds like her," Rachel says dryly. "What scared you about it?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson winces, "I um blasted her with a spell then picked her up and whipped her across the room? I thought I hurt her. She walked it off like nothing happened."

Raven has posed:
That is interesting, but Rachel keeps it to herself. Mentioning it might cause Gwenn to want to team up with her to explore the teachers' secrets, and Rachel isn't willing to go that far Harry Potter without at least a Ron Weasley in tow. She just asks instead, "Are you sure it really happened? She's a telepath, after all. It could have all been an illusion."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson frowns and shakes her head, "I didn't know she was a telepath. But I know that happened. She took me to the training room and everything. She wanted to know. I warned her. I asked her who or what am I supposed to target, she said herself. I didn't want to but... I still have mana built up a bit even after I discharged a lot of it.

Raven has posed:
Hm. Curiouser and curiouser. Rachel nods, thinking about that one. "Did she do anything to upset you while you were doing it?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson frowns and nods, "Yeah. She wanted me to go all out. Thats something I never do. Something really bad can happen to me if I do. Its not something I talk about much. Lets just say I went as far as I feel safe going last night."

Raven has posed:
"Okay," Rachel says mildly, and drops the subject. "Do you want to take the rest of the pizza to your dorm?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson smiles, "Sure if you're sure you don't want any. I do owe you though!" She smirks. "Do you like smoothies? There is a place I know that does really yummy ones." She beams over that.

Raven has posed:
Rachel nods. "Sure, smoothies are nice. I like fruits." She pauses, then thinks of something to add to keep the conversation going. "What's your favorite fruit?"

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson smiles and nods. "Oh I like apple a lot. Strawberries are nice too. The place I'm going to take you does a really good Stawberry, Banana, and pineapple smoothie. They really like my cousin there and oh my gods He knows it. When you meet him feel free to zap him. I do sometimes." She snickers.

Raven has posed:
Rachel catches that last bit, though maybe the wrong part of it. "Gods?" she asks, inviting you to elaborate.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson she shrugs, "Its something I seem to notice. Most magic users address multiple gods. I'm not really religious and don't really study any pantheons. I just say 'gods' instead of god. If I'm going to offend deities I may as well offend them all right?

Raven has posed:
"Oh. Just something to say, huh? Fair enough," Rachel says, nodding. "Don't worry, I won't tell Thor you're trying to offend him."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson snickers and then just laughs, "If me saying 'Gods' offends Thor, the requirements for that hammer of his have been lowered significantly." She laughs.

Raven has posed:
"He was the first god I can think of. Maybe I should have said Loki," she admits.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson nods, "Yeah Loki would likely be a little more upset over me saying that. From what I've gathered he seems a little more prone to being umm... Whiney?"

Raven has posed:
Rachel stands up. "I'd better put some distance between myself and you before someone smites you with lightning. Also, I have classes today." She's probably joking, right? "See you around, as long as you don't get turned into a pillar of salt or anything." With that, Rachel nods a farewell to you and heads about her day.
