Date of Scene: 25 October 2017

Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Wolverine, Genesis, Marvel Girl

Emma Frost has posed:
It's a cool day in New York, and yet the sun is still shining and it's warm-ish rays attempt to take the edge of the breeze off, but it's not working too well. Either way, the woman who has recently become solid living rock, has found her way into the jacuzzi that Xavier, thankfully, had installed several years ago.

The diamond woman has borrowed someone's one-piece swimsuit and since she can only feel temperature in this new body of hers, Grace, Emma's current alias, is down in the bubbling water and has her eyes closed, looking either asleep or deeply focused.

Wolverine has posed:
Walking out of the house, probably coming from the garage, is none other than Logan himself. The trail of cigar smoke he leaves behind him does a good job of announcing his presence, as does the trademark cowboy hat, coyboy boots, white t-shirt and greasy jeans - a testament to his working on his bike once more.

Grumbling to himself, Logan regards the back yard, and frowns. "Needs ta' be mowed again. Huh." Shaking his head, he starts to head towards the shed containing the sit on lawn mower, but stops. Someone else was present in the backyard, in the jacuzzi. Standing near the edge, Logan nods. "Emma."

Genesis has posed:
The back door of the school burst off it hindges and flies into the back yard. Standing infront of the doorway in a hoodie is a small boy looking down at the door with a sigh.. "Oh.. not again." he adds looking up he see's the rest in the yard. His face, and head is covered by the hoodie though there are two red shinining eyes under it that look out. He quickly see's there are others here, and gives a small nervious wave to them.. "Umm.. hello there.." As he moves to pick up the door leaning it back on the frame.

He turns after putting up the door.. "I am sorry about the door... I am kinda lost is there someone in charge around here. I can't seem to find where to turn in this." he adds holding up a piece of paper. It is admitence papers that he needs to have signed or stamped, or well he isn't sure. Though as he is talking about the papers the door falls again behind him which gives him a little jump.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Little things. It's the little things that can completely put you off guard, when you find yourself in another time. The bigger stuff -- that's just expected, once you've come to grip with the reality. It's those small deviations -- unnoticeable save that they're -different- -- it's those that -really- throw off Rachel Grey. Little things, like the fact that this mansion has a jacuzzi.

The simple fact is, she gets lost in the mansion more than she'd like to admit. The mysterious, time-traveling redhead has largely kept to herself since arriving in this time, and largely committed herself towards learning the ins and outs of the mansion, but it's... hard. In more ways than one. And sometimes, she just needs to relax.

Both of which are, largely, why the redheaded mutant finds herself drawn to that jacuzzi today. Dressed in a simple, backless red one-piece swimsuit, the young woman looks at that jacuzzi as she approaches it with a strange mix of curiosity and trepidation. It's when she notices 'Grace' there, though, that she pauses, blinking and looking between her and Logan. "Oh -- uh," she begins, eloquently. "Wasn't really expecting people here. Sorry. I can come back--"

And that's when the door blows open, and Rachel reacts entirely on deeply ingrained instincts. Instantly, she's whirling around. Instantly, fire is sprouting up at her shoulders, turning her short hair into tongues of flame as she looks intent on simply burning away what she subconsciously perceives as a threat... and then she sees the young man there. And she blinks. And she pauses. "... Oh. Jesus," she mutters to herself, as those flames die, mild irritation settling in as she rubs her forehead. "You have to be more careful about that stuff, kid. Okay?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Her voice is sighing softly before she even opens her diamond lids, Emma responds to Logan, "Logan... You smell revolting as always." The woman says, lifting a single eyelid to wink at the man, before she turns her attention towards Rachel and blinking a few times. "Jean, did you change your hair?" Obviously not familiar with the time travler, but the spitting image of her mother.

Then the door explodes and Emma sighs softly to herself before closing her eye again and telling herself, "Not my house, not my school, not my problem."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan frowns as he regards Emma cooly. "Thanks. It's my musky scent." Then, Rachel arrives. Smiling, Logan looks over his shoulder at her, notes the bathing suit, and smiles. "Nice ta' see you Rachel."

Then, something comes over his face. A strange, predatory expression. Moving the cigar from the right side of his mouth, to the left side of his mouth with his teeth, Logan hears the loud clatter from the door's violent end, and he sniffs.

Logan's eyes grow wide as Rachel moves into action. And he follows suit. SNIKT!!!

Logan's claws both come out, as he turns around to regard Evan, ready for anything. Scanning towards Emma, and then Rachel, the three of them should be able to...what?

And then he stops. Shock registers on his face. Looking at the young mutant in the hoodie, Logan pauses, and sniffs again. Then, he says, his claws still out, "You aren't Apo...what are...who are you? A kid, huh?" Logan's eyes narrow suspiciously. "I'd start explainin' kid. Now."

Genesis has posed:
The boy looks at Rachel just those two red dots watch her carfully maybe thinking about the fight or flight before she goes out again, as Logan pulls his claws it doesn't help. He starts backing away from the two he holds up two blue hands.. "I am sorry about the door.. really I am mister... It is just so difficult the world is so.... fragile." he shakes his head looking at the three one at a time again. "Umm.. I can go.. Yea how bout I just go." he starts edging back slowly away from Logan a bit afraid of the confertation.

Looking like he is about to bolt before he trips on the fallen door landing on his behind with an oooof the papers for joining the school going everywhere.

As he falls his hood falls back his skin is all blue except for his eyes, and hair. Red glowing eyes shine out of the almost metalic face with a short cropped black hair on his head, and strange enough from the corners of his mouth two lines go up and over his ears. He is already starting to get up again to dust himself off, as he explains a bit with a sigh.. "I don't know who Apo is mister, my name is Ev.." he stops thinking better then giving his real name to this crazy guy that was glaring at him.. "My name is Genesis.. yea... Genesis.. I heard this was the place for those who couldn't fit out there.. I am sorry about the door really I am." he stops and looks at Emma, "Umm I am not sure what I just walked into here though.." more confused as he had never actually experienced a situation quite like this one.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"For the last time, I'm not Jean," mutters Rachel with the faint irritation of someone who's had to field that question more times than she'd like -- maybe it's a sore spot. But if it is, she's not saying why. Those vibrant green eyes lift to regard Emma for a moment, a frown creasing her lips. The spitting image of her mother -- if with a much, much more guarded baring. "It's Rachel. Just Rachel."

She has a greeting for Logan as well reaching the tip of her tongue before Evan makes that dramatic entrance onto the scene. Accustomed to violence -- accustomed to a losing war -- those flames still don't -quite- die away even as Evan presents himself as no sort of obvious threat. The tell tale signs of someone who's learned the hard way not to trust. She waits a few seconds, listens to Evan's explanation, stares at that very -distinctive- look he has as he is revealed, looks Logan's way... and then shrugs.

"... Looks like this is your purview," she notes wryly. "It just jumped way out of my paygrade." A pause. She rubs the back of her head, looking aside. "And I'm no good with kids."

Emma Frost has posed:
"His name's not Genesis." Emma says, flatly to the two X-men surrounding her jacuzzi session. "And I'm not Grace, but that's what I'd prefer to be called during my time here. So why not just call him what he wants to go by." The headmistress says lounging in the jacuzzi still. "Don't worry about him. He's obviously not meaning to be a threat. Logan, un-snikt, and Rachel, I do apologize, I imagine that gets quite frustrating. Join me, and take a breather. This place is quite stressful."

Wolverine has posed:
Growling, Logan says, "It wasn't the door." Logan advances two steps, not close enough toattack...yet. His eyes take in everything in front of him. The smell, the visage, everything, especially after Evan falls and reveals himself to the world. "Genesis." Logan says, "I was going to say, "Apocalypse"."

Logan looks over at Rachel, and snarls. "Yeah. Thanks. Huh. Always gotta be me." Logan gives her a look to be ready, and then looks back at Evan. "Explain why you look and smell like him, Ev, Genesis, whatever."

Emma then fills them in a bit more. Logan looks over his shoulder at her, and frowns. "Un-snikt. Hurumph." Logan glowers at her, and then back at Evan. "SNIKT!" Logan's claws disappear into their sheaths. "Somebody better start talkin'."

Genesis has posed:
Looking from one to the other he latches on to the one person that doesn't look like they want to hurt him. "Thank you... Grace, and your right it isn't.." he dusts himself off and pulls his hoodie back up over his head almost like an instinct. Though he does take a couple steps back as Logan steps forward for the first time he seems to take a bit of a stand his eyes glowing a bit more knowing Cyclops Logan might realize that he gets a simular glow when he is charging up. "Please stay back I don't want to hurt anyone like the nice lady in the tub said." he tries to smile a bit, but the hoodie covers his face in shadows so it might be hard to see.

When the claws go away the eyes go back to a 'normal' looking red glow as before. "I don't know how I smell like anyone." he snifs himself. "It has been a trying few days maybe it was the bus I took here?" then shakes his head at that. He then takes a small step forward, "Maybe you can explain to me who is this... Apocalypse.. why do you hate him so much, why you think I am him.. And why is there a half naked lady in the back yard of a school." he sighs exasperated at the whole thing. "I just came here to join the school.. I couldn't take the rocks being thrown at me.. the people chasing me at night.. I... I may of made a mistake... I am sorry." and he turns to pick up the papers to leave. "I will be gone before nightfall just alow me to collect my stuff."

Marvel Girl has posed:
She's not good with kids. That much is definitely true. Then again, Logan might not be much better. Rachel would consider this, if she lived a normal kind of life. Instead, she just asides to him, quietly, "Try not to disembowel him unless you have to," with a wry tone that makes it so hard to discern whether she's joking or not. Probably, a little bit of both.

Regardless, she gives the be-clawed mutant a look to let him know she has his back if it comes down to it, before the attention of those green eye shift back towards Emma. "Grace, huh," she murmurs, half to herself, considering the diamond woman. "More than a bit," she utters, words laced with history she'd rather not recall as she just heaves a sigh. A moment later, she climbs into that jacuzzi, letting herself slide into the warmth of it as she feels the rise of the bubbles. "Wow, so that's what that feels like," she mutters, half to herself. And even though she might seem distracted now, relaxed now --

-- her mind is still primed, tendrils of thought reaching out to keep an unseen eye on the proceedings between Evan and Logan, so she can respond as swiftly as she needs to. One doesn't survive by letting their guard down, after all. Her brows furrow at Evan's explanation -- and soften, only slightly, at the boy's plight. "Trust me," she asides to Emma, voice dry, "it could be a whole hell of a lot more stressful."

Emma Frost has posed:
"You mean like your groundkeeper, smoking on property and brandishing knives at new potential students isn't the top of the stress creators?" Emma teases, lifting her crystalline arms out of the water to rest on the back of the jacuzzi and sighs softly.

It'd be nice if she could just think her way into the heads of the two boys near by softly breathing a sigh as she can't do that just yet. "Logan, isn't that what this place is all about. Second chances and helping people to become the best versions of themselves." Emma says, looking from Rachel, to Evan, and finally to Logan. "This is the chance to prove Charles' ideal is possible, no?"

Wolverine has posed:
"No promises Rachel." His face gets a predatory smile on it, the cigar long since dropped on the ground when the excitement happened. "Might have to." His quick wink, reveals that he was in control and not raging berserker...for now.

As his eyes find Evan's glowing ones, Logan stands up straight, and says, "Kid. I am sure you'd have a hard time hurtin' me enough to do any good."

Logan shakes his head, and adds, "You certainly don't act like him. Someone else will have to tell you all those details, kid. Ah don't know tha' answers. I know every instinct I have is tellin' me ta' end this now, while I still can. But ah'm gonna give Emma and you the benefit of the doubt. Fer now."

Logan crosses his arms across his chest, and says, "Welcome to the school. I'll be watchin'." Logan looks around for his dropped cigar, and picks it up. Brushing it off absently, his eyes never leave Evan...

..until he realises what was happening near him...in the jacuzzi as Emma teases him. With a grin, he tips his cowboy hat respectfully to the two beautiful ladies in the jacuzzi, and says, "True Emma. Can't argue that. Second chances...I've had aboot ten a' them. Charles was there fer me...why not?"

Logan then chuckles. "You two might want to explain ta' tha' kid why two near naked ladies are havin' fun in the backyard." His wink was aimed at both of them this time. "Ladies." He turns back to Evan. "Kid." With that, he exits the bakcyard.

Genesis has posed:
The boy looks at them at least the hostility was going down a bit, and he wasn't sensing any from the diamond lady. He gives a bit of a shrug, "I guess he was right... it is the normal looking ones that are the wierdest around here." and shakes his head with a small chuckle. "I don't know who this person is, or what is going on, but does this mean I can stay?" he seems to be a bit hopefull, but then stops like he realized something. "Wait.. I can't hurt you.. Could it be true? I have always had to treat the world like a fragile egg. I mean sure I can lift a bus with a hand, but doors.. heck even walking without leaving holes in the ground is difficult." he shakes his head, and almost to himself. "A group of people I don't have to hold back with.."

He takes a seat on the ground, and looks up at the ladies.. "Wait.. which one is Emma.. I am sorry." he asks as Logan is leaving the area, though he doesn't approach the ladies for now keeping his distance as he always does with people it was just safer that way. Then right as Logan leaves the boy remembers the whole reason he came here. "Wait! I still need you to sign these!" and starts to chase after leaving small quakes in his path as he starts to chase down Logan.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Emma, says Logan, and Rachel, to her credit, doesn't react in any obvious ways. It almost seems like she didn't hear it, even if she clearly had to have. She just sinks further into the jacuzzi, letting the heat relax her muscles as she shuts her eyes.

"... Definitely isn't," she first asides to Emma, offering a hint of a smile the diamond woman's way as she settles her own arms over her short head of red hair in a slow stretch. "It gets so much worse. Look forward to it."

It's only then that her attention diverts back to Logan and Evan, one vibrantly green eye cracking open as she considers the young man with that piercingly intense stare. "Grace is right. He ought to have a chance, just like everyone. Where I come from, well..." She shakes her head. "... Nevermind. Not important. Take care, Logan."

There's little more than a slight scoff at the Canadian X-Men's parting words and wink, but as he leaves -- Rachel reaches out to speak to the man's mind directly.

    {{Have someone keep an eye on him. Even if he doesn't think he's related to Apocalypse...}}

Well. Rachel didn't survive so long where she was by trusting easy.

Still, there's no outward sign of it, which might be doubly unsettling; the redhead just sinks into the water as Evan asks that question about Emma. "Neither of us," she says, with absolute certainty, before the boy rushes off after Logan. "Huh. Uh. At least he's eager. I... guess."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Eager doesn't always mean good." Emma retorts with a soft response as she lowers her body deeper into the water, her left eye opening to look around the two fellows wander off. "I'm Grace, Emma's my boss." The diamond woman says with a smirk and then the wink returns to Rachel before she closes her eye and allows the scene to unfold around her.

The white queen slows her breathing down and is trying to focus on what Piotr recommended to her a couple days ago, she's working on trying to get out of this diamond form, but she's having no luck.

Marvel Girl has posed:
A dry smile tugging at her lips, Rachel opens both those green eyes to cast a look Emma's way. "Got it," is her answer, returning that wink before she just soaks in the heat, sinking down until the surface of the water nearly touches upon her chin.

"Eager's not a positive quality. Not to me, most of the time," she asides after a moment. "Usually? Eager's just what gets you killed." Cynical as she is, Rachel says it like she was talking about the weather, her green eyes rolling back towards Emma to watch her. She seems to be focusing; Rachel half-considers asking after it, but rather than interrupt the process, the redhead just observes, chewing on her lower lip in idle thought.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Eager and ambition are was drives all kinds. Dangerous and well meaning. But one constant tends to be the selfish nature of the world." Emma replies, as if yeah, the weather is nice today isn't it?. The Diamond woman's chin does lower to just touch the water, her crystal-like body against the smooth inner part of the jacuzzi not what it was designed for and it scrapes the plastic finish. She'll have to pay for that later.

Emma's eyes remain closed as she's still thinking about relaxing and savoring the heat from the pool when a flash of light goes through her mind and instantly the Phoenix is before her trapped body, burning at her from the inside out. Her head twitches and she breathe sharply through her nose, trying to stay in the memory/thought.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"... Yeah," murmurs Rachel as she stretches out in the water's bubbling heat. "Can't really argue that one. The world'll take everything from you if you let it." It brings troubling thoughts to the fore; for a moment, fire licks at her shoulders in subconscious response, steaming water bubbles clinging to her skin into vapor. She shakes her head, and the thoughts are dispelled with the flames, forced down into the depths of her subconscious.

Finding herself in desperate need of a distraction, now, the redhead's attention turns more fully upon Emma. Her body shifting to face the diamond woman, green eyes peer, and her mind stretches out. Subtly, not looking to invade, just skim those surface thoughts as Emma twitches, the sharp suck of breath making red brows lift as she leans in -- more with curiosity than anything else. "You okay there...?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma's face contorts as the mental fires of the Phoenix memories burn brightly, painfully in her head. The hot water against her rocky body further illustrating that point.

Emma gasps loudly as her eyes snap open and she is breathing quite heavily as she's trying to recover her senses and she looks to Rachel and again mistakes her for Jean for a brief moment. "Oh. Um..." Emma says, swallowing her fear and air, recovering from the trauma slowly, "I'm ... I'm okay." The woman lies, not willing to open herself up to a woman she just met who's the exact image of the woman who saved her life, but also put her in this state, or is host to the being that put her into this diamondy confines.

"It's complicated." Emma replies, her breathing slowing.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel is not often the most empathetic person around. Dealing with her own emotions is hard enough -- it's just been easier to hide who she is and who she's related to just to avoid that fact. But still -- like recognizes like. And her features soften, just a bit, as she watches Emma suck in recovering breaths and grapple with something, sight unseen. Even without her telepathy, she knows that look. She knows the signs of someone who's been dealt trauma before. All too well.

So, her response is a simple, "Okay," to Emma's answer to her words. She doesn't really say anything more. She just reaches out, and visibly hesitates a moment, before looking to rest one hand one Emma's diamond-faceted shoulder. No words. She just squeezes against invulnerable carbon and relaxes back into the tub once more, keeping the hand there for as long as it's allowed like a quiet, steadying presence.

"It's always complicated," she asides, a note of gentle commiseration in her tone.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma looks up to Rachel's green eyes as the hand lands on her shoulder. She lifts her arm across her body to rest her hand on Rachel's hand, fingers rubbing kindly on the back of the time traveller's hand. Feeling the way her skin has play and give and warmth like her own doesn't.

"Thanks, Rachel." Emma says softly and quietly before she lowers her hand away from the girl's and slowly sinks back into the jacuzzi, about done with this experiment but wanting to stick around Rachel a bit longer, the enigmatic girl capturing Emma's imagination.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Gaze steady, Rachel feels that cool, diamond hand layer over her own. She doesn't pull away; she just lets her fingers twitch and lightly move under Emma's own, rubbing to provide a presence to focus on. The time-displaced redhead offers the small hint of a smile before Emma's hand slips away, letting her own linger a bit longer before she lets it slip away.

"Anytime, Grace," is her answer, calm and sincere as the jaded redhead can be before she sinks herself back into the water alongside the other woman, perfectly content to linger here with her and enjoy the warmth of the jacuzzi and the company provided. After all... she needs it, too, from time to time.
