Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Stardust, X-23, Kaelyn Silverleaf

Stardust has posed:
The beach is normally popular, but today there is an especially large crowd. Visitors from far and wide have come to see the local sensation that has been making news around the country: some freak underwater tide has brought the rusting hulk of a sunken World War 2 U-boat into the shallows. The conning tower and a couple of feet of the top of the hull are clearly visible over the gently rolling waves, rust-red against the blue water.

There is a coastguard patrol boat circling the wreck, and a couple of other official-looking launches helping to keep the curious at bay. There are probably bodies on the boat and nobody wants Joe Public interfering. A stretch of beach roughly a hundred feet wide has been closed off as underwater archeologists start the slow process of bringing in equipment and setting up their operation. All around the closed-off area, there are sightseers taking photos.

Elsewhere, life on the beach attempts to go ahead as normal. Though perhaps resentful of the large stretch of beach closed off and the crowds of sightseers, there are still people out to enjoy themselves in the normal ways: sunbathing, playing ball games, surfing, swimming, people-watching, eating ice-cream.

All, of course, is not what it seems. Inside the rusting hulk, there is movement. Were anyone close enough to the hull, they might just hear a continual tap-tapping against the interior bulkheads, as the beings within guide themselves through the total darkness by the sound of echoes, slowly preparing for what is to come.

X-23 has posed:
Laura makes her way to the beach, only it doesn't seem like she intended to get there, because unlike most people wearing their swim wear, she's dressed like she's about to go into some goth club. That or just chill somewhere, point is, there's nothing summery, or water-ready about her. Yet she walks along the sandy beach, even without intention to sun bathe or dip in the water. Albeit the unexpected surfaing of the submarine gives her pause enough to stop and look. Curious for the most part, her senses tell her there's something there.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae is dressed well fit for a beach! She is wearing a haltar style bikini, with a pair of blue jean shorts over the bottoms. Over her shoulder is her ever-present brown leathe rbackpack. She pauses as she wiggles her toes on the beach and enjoying the sand before she begins to walk forward... She's oblivious really to wierdness at this point. Still her little dragon-construct Fanhuil isn't completely and the creature pokes its head out of her backpack and chirrups.

Kae pauses and turns the way the little creature is looking raising a hand to her forehead to clear her bangs from her eyes those bracelets of hers jingling a bit as the extremely curvy female looks... on.

Stardust has posed:
Colette's outfit could easily be mistaken for a rather eye-catching white wetsuit, but like Laura she wasn't dressing for the beach, and isn't here to surf. She's here as Stardust and wearing her superheroing outfit. Or one version of it. It changes all the time, which can be useful. It hasn't escaped her notice that means that if there's nothing to this U-boat thing, she could potentially change her outfit into a bikini and just enjoy the beach.

Not only has this not escaped her notice, but as she flies closer and closer to the beach and the smell of sea air enters her nostrils, it becomes an increasing temptation. Just give up the mission and slack off in the sun. Unfortunately for Colette, the voice in her head is particularly insistent about this one, and the voice in her head controls her power to change costume. The voice is particularly insistent because there's a possibility this U-boat is one he had a run-in with back when he was still alive.

In a world where flying heroes are not entirely rare, Stardust's arrival is small news compared to the presence of the U-boat, though it's not unnoticed. As she hovers in the air a hundred or so feet above the wreck, there are some nervous murmurs in the crowd. Why is there a super investigating? Just another sight-seer with a better vantage point, or does she know something they don't?

X-23 has posed:
Laura doesn't quite notice Kaelyn, though no doubt there are some people who do neglect the U-boat because of Kaelyn. Laura on the other hand is more interested by Colette's arrival shortly after the U-boat, and whatever it is that she can sense within. Curiousity is a problem, and Laura starts marching towards the vessal.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks a few times seeing the U-boat. Then she reaches into her bag and pulls a broom? How she gets something like a full sized hand woven broom from a backpack is anyone's guess. Still the severely curvy woman, settles a foot on the bunch leading to the broom's whisks, then grips the stalk and silently floats into the air, soon enough she is standing on the broom like one would a surf-board as she glides over toward Colette.

"Hiya long time no see?" she says and smiles then looks at the ship... "What's going on here?" She asks curiously now.

Stardust has posed:
Laura soon comes to the edge of the closed-off area, and is quickly cut off by a guard. He trots towards her, holding out a hand, and calls "Excuse me ma'am, I'm afraid you're gonna have to stay behind the tape." He has the bored expression of a man who's been doing that all day.

Colette tilts her head curiously at the approach of the broom-rider, and breaks into a grin and a wave when she recognises Kaelyn. "Hey," she calls back. "Probably nothing, but..." She swoops low towards the front of the conning tower, hovering a few feet away from it and peering at the metalwork. "Can you make out any markings? There should be a number but it looks like the paint has..."

"<<Please do not approach the wreckage>>" The amplified voice comes from one of the patrolling launches which approaches the wreck at speed to intercept the two fliers. A coast guard stands on the prow, holding a megaphone. "<<This is a scheduled wreck, it is illegal to enter it. Please move away.>>"

Colette turns in the air and cups her hands to her mouth to yell back "Just wanted to take a close look! I'm not touching anything!" Behind her, there's a faint cracking of rusted metal as the hatch handle starts, very slowly, turning.

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks at the guard, then at the vessal, then back at the guard. Is it really worth it to draw attention to herself for mere curiosity? Perhaps not. She certainly won't gain much from killing this guard, who is merely doing his job, and isn't even a designated target. She nods quietly, and remains behind the tape.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks and motions to the wreck "I think it's opening." She responds quietly, the woman gliding a bit further away from the sub and then she calls back to the person with the megaphone... "May be scheduled or something no clue buuuuuuut I don't think entering it is going to be the problem... I think something's coming out!" She calls out and glances back to the sub curiously, the woman reaching into her pocket tugging her phone free. She enters a few numbers and a couple rods pop out of the phone and hover there briefly as Kae snatches them up with one hand and puts the phone away, where she waits with what is one of her rods of destruction in one hand, and a warding rod in the other.

Stardust has posed:
The guard that had stopped Laura turns away from her with a frown, becoming aware of something going on behind him at the wreck. Some of the crowd seems to have noticed too, and around her cameras and phones are being pointed.

Colette turns again at Kae's words, drifting backwards through the air to increase the distance between herself and the boat. "Coming out?" she repeats. "That's not... " Her words are drowned out by the launch, which guns its engine to close in and move between the two fliers and the boat. The man with the megaphone raises it to his lips, but is startled to silence by a loud CRACK behind him as the hatch bursts open.

Back on the beach, the muttering increases and is suddenly punctuated by a scream. Panic spreads quickly through the crowd as more people make out the shape of pallid figures climbing out through the hatchway. Four almost-human forms, dressed in decaying fragments of what were perhaps once Nazi uniforms, their skin so pale it appears translucent, with scarred skin where their eyes should be.

X-23 has posed:
As if it wasn't already obvious to all, Laura points at the wouldbe zombified Nazis climbing out of the submarine, her arm extending past the guard's shoulder to draw his attention, "danger," she states the obvious just like Captain Obvious.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks and stares... "Ok so water-rotted zombie nazi's..." she says flatly... Now Kae is not going to be firing first but she does wave her hand extending a ward out and around the ship its self in hopes of locking the zombies there, hopefully not to like go walking into the crowd on the beach.. "I'm going to extend a ward just in case... " she says to Colette "Just be ready in case things really turn to hell!"

Stardust has posed:
Colette points towards the figures clambering out of the hatch and calls out to the coastguard. "Hey! They must have entered illegally, you should arrest them! However they may be the results of a failed Nazi super-soldier experiment, so I don't recommend it. How about leave this to us and we'll try not damaging your nice wreck too much?" The pilot of the boat does not give the megaphone user time to answer, and the boat speeds away in blind panic.

Even Captain Obvious might think Laura's warning superfluous with the panic ensuing on the beach. Most of the bystanders start to run in the general direction of away, while Laura's new friend the guard attempts to hustle her back with the rest. There are however still a few brave souls hanging around that he finds himself having to deal with too - some people just can't resist the lure of a selfie with a Nazi zombie, or whatever these things are.

Four figures emerge onto the tilted deck of the ship, walking clumsily, heads turning rapidly from side to side as if they were looking for something, though without eyes that seems unlikely. After a few moments they seem to have their bearings, and start walking along the length of the deck, towards the shore.

"Not zombies," Colette tells Kae. "Probably. Experiments. Though now I think about it, possibly Nazi experiment zombies. Either that or..." she shudders a little. "They've been living for eight decades in a sunken sub. Uh. Ward away?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura doesn't budge when the guard tries to move her, instead she just quips, "I am safe." Seems like she doesn't say too much, but she does wait on the beach, glaring in the direction of the creatures coming out of the vessal, just waiting for them to approach her.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae nods and begins muttering she her self isn't speaking loudly per say, but well her voice is carrying, kind of a whisper on the edge of one's ability to hear. It might even be hackle raising what with how her voice plows through the various syllables spoken in some wierd arcaic language...

Kae raises the rod in her left hand and points, and soon enough a line litterally forms in the sand... It starts off small then shoots off in two different directions, this extending out for some ways before suddenly turning to zoom around the sub its self, as the line is drawn small runes litterally appear floating above that line in the sand and glowing softly. Those that aren't wierd zombie things might find it quite easy to pass beyond the ward though the passing might raise one's hackles or the power within might even feel like static creeping over the surface of one's skin briefly as they pass the lines... Soon enough the ward line reaches the other side of the ship, now circling things... The rod continues to glow as it provides the ward its self with power... Kae then shoves it in her back pocket... "That should slow em down!"

Stardust has posed:
As the noises of screaming on the beach reach the ears of the four creatures, they quicken into a lumbering, predatory run. While it may be impossible to be sure of the motivation of anyone who's been stuck for eighty years in a metal box, that seems clear enough. The fact that they have somehow survived eighty years in that metal box without food or air is reason enough to take the threat seriously. In seconds even the guards and selfie hunters have run for it, leaving Laura standing alone in a wide stretch of beach.

The creatures wade through the shallows towards the beach, and Laura, until they reach the line of power marked by Kaelyn's ward. The stop, puzzled, hands pressing at the air. The leading Thing gives a loud, gutteral growl, and hurls itself at the ward. It moves as if the air around it had thickened, but inch by inch it forces its way through the ward. The others attempt to follow it in the same way, though they're having a bit more trouble.

"That's... cool," Colette says to Kaelyn. "But I think you tuned it too far towards 'zombie' and not enough towards 'Nazi'? I dunno. Oh, by the way, those things may have superpowers. Ought to warn you."

X-23 has posed:
Laura glowers when the creatures break into a sprint towards her, making their approach through the water. Rather than freeze in terror or turn tail and flee, a loud sharp *snikt* sound heralds the four adamantium claws that extend from her hands, as she in turn charges at the zombified nazis. "YAAAR!" She growls at them and doesn't wait to test if the ward works on her as well or not, she comes slashing and rending, all too pleased to be shredding something apart. Keeping under control, not unleashing any fury is a rather difficult task. She enjoys being unable to let go for once since her escape from the Facility.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks as Colette tells her that they have super powers "Soo you've run into these before?" She asks.. Then Laura charges the things with a loud roar... kinda... "Ummm.. Yah that's gonna make fighting these things a bit tougher..." She mutters, and raises her rod of destruction, pointing it at a zombie thing in the back... "So it's safe to go ahead and engage I guess?" she says...

The redhead mutters a few words now and the rod glows briefly before a bolt the size of a tank-shell, and possibly with similar hitting force lances forth from the rod and zips toward one of those zombie things at high speed, should it hit there'd be a loud crack, kind of like a sonic boom as the kinetic bolt would deliver its full force in one massive release. "Oh yah umm so I fight at range ya remember right?" Kae asks curiously to Colette least those two can work together here...

Stardust has posed:
Colette nods her head to Kaelyn, and yells "Yep! Attack them from the rear, I'll take the front. Don't get too close!" as swoops up through the air in pursuit of the escaped Nazi Experiments. She yells a warning to Laura as she flies. "Run! Get the hell out of here, get away! It's danger..." *Snikt*. "Or that."

As Laura starts running, so does the Experiment, charging straight at her with an animal roar. The speed of the Experiment comes as a surprise to Laura, though its fighting skills are obviously as rusty as the hull. Her claws slash across its chest, opening slick, gaping wounds, while the claws on her other hand pierce through its shoulder. It keeps coming though, grappling her with a formidable strength that's about the equal of her own.

The rearmost of Experiments takes a direct hit from Kaelyn's bolt. The impact blasts it into the water, where the full effect cannot be determined - - but at least it isn't getting straight back up.

Colette loops up and dives down at the second in line of the Experiments, reaching it before it can join its companion in attacking Laura. She grabs it by the head and jets upwards, carrying it with her high into the air. The Experiment swings its body around, trying to grapple her with its legs, and while swinging wild punches at her.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae peers at the end of her rod, blinking a few times "Ok so leftovers from fighting the Darkseid invasion is quite useful?" she says, now looking for that creature she just attacked.... She then notices another one still standing then looks to the Ward... She waves her hand in the direction of Colette now forming a gate, below the creature, the other end opening horizontally toward the sub... "Throw the critter into the gate!" she calls out, now resorting to trying to simply aid the other two in their fights...

She looks to Laura, and up comes the rod of destruction this time as she focusses on the other of the 4 critters still standing. This time an arcane bolt zips out from the rod aiming at the back of the 4th critter in an attempt to try and turn it or keep it off Laura...

X-23 has posed:
Laura, though in peak condition, still might not match the strength of a nazi zombie. She's only 15 after all, but she certainly has the superior martial skills. The moment the experiment races back at her and keeps struggling through getting bits and pieces of it sliced off, she takes a hold of it. A short grapple, and she tosses it right into the gate, per Kaelyn's recommendation. If successful, she'll just growl and look for other threats, if not. Out comes the feet claws as she really goes to town on the thing. Her style is quite jarring, one hundred percent offense, looking for the kill, showing zero concern for protecting herself. This naturally allows the thing some hits, but it seems Laura heals from the damage as fast as she receives it.

Stardust has posed:
Colette and the Experiment she's struggling with continue to rise higher and higher into the air until they're little more than a dot. The dot seems to hang there for a few moments before it starts getting larger and larger again. Still struggling, the two come back the way they came, crashing down like lightning. Colette's voice can be heard calling "A little more to the lef... " just before the tangled pair barely miss the gateway Kaelyn opened, and smash into the shallow water, sending up a fountain of sea and sand up into the air.

The Experiment attacking Laura fights with a single-mindedness that is frightening, but tactically ill-advised by someone with her kind of weaponry. It focuses on trying to crush the life out of her, and its considerable strength feels crushing on her ribcage. Were it not for her healing factor, she'd be in considerable trouble. However so single-minded is the Experiment in attempting to crush her that it can do little to stop the slashing and stabbing of those adamantium claws. Again and again she tears into its near bloodless body, tearing muscle and flesh. It doesn't seem to react with pain, but it simply cannot stand up to her claws. Before long it's just not able to keep on, and she is able to hurl it, with ease, through the gateway.

The bolt from Kaelyn arcs through the air and finds its mark, blasting into the back of the third of the Experiments just before it reaches Laura. It stumbles weakly forwards, burned and weakened by the blast, straight into her waiting arms. Threat found, but significantly less of a threat that it was a moment ago.

Colette bursts out of the water again, still wrestling the second Experiment. The crash seems to have taken a lot more out of it than out of her, and she pounds it with her fist, three loud cracks as her fist slams into its face. It goes limp, and she hurls the body into the gateway after Laura's.

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks from Colette to Kaelyn, and quickly assess the situation is under control. Not interested in questions, *snikt* her claws retract back in, only traces of blood suggesting they were even there a moment ago. She turns on her heel and starts to walk hurriedly away from the scene. Figuring by the time Kaelyn and Colette wrap everything up, she should be able to clear away and avoid any reporters, and questions.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
After Laura finishes number 3, Kae tilts her head, and forms well what looks to be a blue glowing lasso? She whirls it over head like any proper Texas rodeo girl, and catches the thing about the arms and shoulders... She then snaps her end of the 'energy' lasso and causes the thing to flop up into the air before Kae flies a few circles around it, thus causing it to be spun around and around and then she lets go, flinging the creature through the gateway... "There's one more that I shot, he fell in the water around here, I'd find em and send em through!"

Stardust has posed:
While Laura and Kaelyn finish off the third, Colette dives back into the water, seeking out the fourth Experiment, the one Kaelyn had blasted into the water a the start. Kaelyn's bolts don't seem to be enough to kill these things, but as Laura discovered they certainly weaken them badly, and Colette has no difficulty fishing out the last of the Experiments and hurling it through the gateway. She spits out a mouth full of sea water, brushes her hands off and looks around in satisfaction."Good work you two!" She looks around, sees Laura walking off into the distance, and amends her statement. "Good work, you one. Uh. She probably has the right idea, let's get out of here before there are too many questions. "

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae umms and nods... "Gotham right?" Kae asks curiously, then opens up a gateway to said destination.... Kae then steps through and waits Colette for a while...
