Location: Xavier's School, Westchester, New York
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Professor X, Deadzone, Beast

Professor X has posed:
Charles Xavier is not settled at his desk today. Today he is sitting over near a fireplace, his blanket over his lap, the window open to let in some of the cool New York air. He's leaning back in his chair as he reads, the book obviously taking some attention. He's dressed a bit more comfortably this late in the evening, his normal suit having been changed into something a little simpler, a pair of sweats from the school and a polo. Leads one to think he probably was working out...a legit possibility since he's not exactly completely without some musculature. Quiet, nice, relaxed evening it would seem.

Deadzone has posed:
As usual, Tatum can be heard before she arrives. Her high heels click on the wooden floor, a quick rapping at the door before she opens. "Chuck, got you your weekly chocolate bribe from the grade 8s," she says as she walks in. Skinny jeans and an oversized t-shirt that hangs off her shoulder, she is dressed rather casually for her. Must be the weekend.

Professor X has posed:
"Brownies, or chocolate chip cookies this week? I haven't had cookies for a while. I do believe that the extra essay on the values of attention to detail as taught by authors of the Greek poets did teach them not to put nuts in any longer," he says with a bit of a smile but still, when you come in with just the jeans and a t-shirt he looks, almost worried. "Are you alright Tatum? Not getting sick or upset about anything?" He always asks. Sure he could just dig in and find out for himself but that would be rude.

Deadzone has posed:
The home ec teacher smirks, shaking her head at the Professor. "Its funny you should mention that. I -was- going to get them to make brownies, but I decided on cookies. Almost as if the suggestion was implanted into my psyche. Must be my imagination." She holds out the plate to Charles and shakes her head to the question. "I'm good. Actually, really good. Just need a cello to call my own and I'll be happy."

Professor X has posed:
Charles Xavier tilts his head curiously as he looks over to you, a moment. "Cello? I didn't realize that we used those in baking but sure. If you think it will help," he says, skimming through the cookies before picking one. You can see he picks one that seems to have an inordinate proporation of chocolate chip to cookie surface ratio. "Planted in your psyche, hmm?" He goes to answer but then takes a bite of cookie and looks up at you haplessly. I mean, truly, how's a guy to answer such a thought when his mouth is full. That...would be rude. And so he sits back still, and it's a wonder that the cup next to him has milk in it. Almost like he knew cookies or something might be coming his way. Though he does motion for you to take a cookie as well. "How have the students been? Anything going on I should be concerned with?"

Deadzone has posed:
Noticing the glass of milk, Tatum shakes her head again. "I take solace in the fact that implanting the suggestion probably took you nearly a whole hour." She then sits down with a soft laugh and takes a cookie for herself.

"The students are good.... well? good? Well, whatever the word I should be using, they are it. Terence and Lance are being.... " She sighs heavily. "Lance is just a follower. He'll do whatever the alpha wolf says. But Terence? I can honestly see us having to deal with him in a few years in a X-Man sort of way."

Professor X has posed:
"Not in you, I wouldn't do that," he says with a grin. "No no, this one was far more subtle. There were the breakfast bars that morning so you were already thinking about bars and having had them. THen there was the issue with the brown marker, turning you off to the idea since you wanted another color. In truth, by the time it came for you to actually have to decide, you were already very opposed to brownies. So..." he teases. "I wouldn't use my power that way, that petty. It would be fun but there are far more important things for me to do than to worry which dessert you're going to bring me," he says, though still, he has just that little bit of a smile.

As you mention Terence though he nods, quietly. "Well then, we must empower Lance to think for himself and help Terence realize that actions have consequences, and that discipline can allow a person to choose their own consequence, whereas unchecked action causes other to choose the consequence for them."

Deadzone has posed:
Tate listens to the way she was "socially engineered" to making cookies. Its not cheating if powers werent used. She nibbles on the cookie, curling her feet under her. "Well, we can do that for them. Terence seems about as angry as I was when I first got here, but hasnt he been here for a while?"

Professor X has posed:
Charles Xavier nods to Tatum. "A bit. But people seem to come around in their own time. Different wounds take different healing. People build these monstrous prisons of their own making, and need help seeing their way out. For some...it's as easy as being there with them so they're not going through it alone. For others...the challenge gets deeper, more commited and more difficult. Then there's the smaller few who either don't want to or just can't find their way out and those are the ones that are the hardest to deal with but the most rewarding when they are able to see a future which includes them and the rest of the world."

Beast has posed:
There is a knock at the door and a blue furry head pokes itself in. "Charles, are you busy? I wanted to talk to you about..." Hank says, and then he stops, realizing the professor has company, and then realizes who it is. He clears his throat once, apologetically. "Ahh, Miss O'Neal. Good evening." he says with a friendly (if strangely shy) friendliness. He looks between the two. "If I am intruding I can always return at a later and more convenient time." And he tries to blank his mind as much as possible, which is something he has not done around charles in.. well.. a very long time.

Deadzone has posed:
A long, deep sigh. "Lets just hope he doesnt go as far down the rabbit hole as I needed to. It might just be anger about having a 'spot on the wall' talent. I just worry. He graduates in a month and then we lose him. It might not be enough time to help him."

She looks up at the knock and upon seeing Hank, she too starts acting strangely shy. "Dr. McCoy." she replies in kind to his greeting. "I was just offering chocolate bribes and chatting. If you have business, I can just go. I should see to our guest anyway."

Professor X has posed:
"We will see," says the Professor before he takes a sip of his milk and at the knock he looks up. Spying his friend, a smile groes, "Hank, come in, no we were just discussing..." and see Charles doesn't actively scan his friends' thoughts. Around the school he usually tries to keep thingsin check and so, while he wouldn't just blanketly scan Hank's thoughts unless it were for Hank's own good, there's always that ahlf second before he has to put pu that white noise in his head and shut out the thoughts of somebody new. It's what makes travel such a problem, there are always cars and new people to have ot ignore driving past. Still, Hanks' mental shifting to try to think about nothing, which typically ledds to things in people like listening to show tunes or repeating famouse quotes and other non-sensical and definitely non-linear pahts causes Charles to lift his brow, curiously. "Haaank?" He draws out tose a's, looking to tatum as he holds up a polite hand, "You can stay. I'll ask our blue friend here what he's trying to hide later."

Beast has posed:
Beast does sort of have that deer in the headlights expression as he keeps looking between his mentor and his... Friend. "Oh no, Miss O'Neal, you needn't leave. I assure you your presence is.. uhm.. extraordinarily welcome since I was going to ask the good professor if had sequestered a chance to meet with our new young guest." he explains.. and starts getting that forboding feeling that he may be rambling. Which he is. Damnit..

He's not good at hiding things it doesn't help that Charles is staring at him and using the elongated form of his name.. That NEVER is good. Quick! The number of m-dimensional hypercubes on the boundary of an n-cube is <<insert some insanely long equation here that standard text doesn't support>> and n! denotes the factorial of n. An n-cube can be projected inside a regular 2n-gonal polygon by a skew orthogonal projection blah blah blah

"Yes, Charles?" he asks, looking sweet and innocent.

Deadzone has posed:
The thing is, Tatum know exactly what Hank is trying to hide. While she is not the sort to hide things herself, she tries to respect the privacy of the blue, furry genius. It would seem his embarassment is infectious, as the casually attired goth starts looking at the pattern in the carpet with intense interest.

"The boy, David? He was sleeping when I left him. Still having those nightmares." Yes! Talk about the guest. Much better then the elephant in the room. Grabbing another cookie, Tate nibbles like a mouse. Nothing to see here. Nope!

Professor X has posed:
Charles' lips purse, slightly. That's a much worse sign than the elongated tone. His cup of milk and the plate of cookies set down he rolls over to the open window and closes it. Look....Hank gets silence. Nothing but the prison fo his own thoughts, and guilt. SO MUCH GUILT! Okay possibly not but still. "Interesting...." is what he simply says about Hank's brain defense pattern delta thought process. Though if Hank is employing defensive patterns, Charles may as well be the Kobayashi Maru in this scenario cause there's no defeating him...fortunatley Charles will not be playing the prying game tonight.

"When you're ready, Hank. You know where to find me," he says simply about the secret and you talk about now a studnet with nightmares. Tatum was already excluded from his telepathy when she walked in so fortunately he can chalk her wierdness of to...well...it's Tatum (though we should totally call her Tay Tay one day.). "Let me know who's taking lead on working with him. Nightmares can be powerful, and not always the cause of one's own subconscious. Dreams are an easy way for others to try to invade our thoughts. If they continue I will spend time with him and make sure that this isn't something larger at work."

Beast has posed:
Beast /is/ feeing guilty. damnit. He can't help it. Part of him feels selfish for.. what has been going on.. Keeping it quiet and all that. Charles is more than his mentor. He is his freind. He not only saved his life when he turned blue and furry trying to cure himself and was chased off campus, but gave him a home and a family and a future. he owes the man so damned much so why can't he just open up to him?

"Thank you, Charles. I promise you we will.. talk.. quite soon. Just have a few things to get my head around." he says, and is being truthful there.

He then clears his throat once more and holds up his tablet. "Physically, I will be taking lead for our newest ward, with Miss O'neals assistance until we can work with his abilities. I have only heard about his abilities third hand, mind you, and my genetic sequencing is not complete as to the reality vs hypothesis of his power. Medically speaking he is suffering from exhaustion, malnourishment, and some minor injuries that we have dealt with so far. he needs reast, hydration and nourishment. But most of all.. yes.. he needs someone to help him with any mental trauma he may be suffering."

Professor X has posed:
Charles nods, to much of what has been said. "Fair enough then," he intones. "Keep me updated. We could go in early but usually this is emotionally based, and heals with time. It's when it doesn't that we have an issue. Take care of the body and the mind will follow. If we need to do a deeper dive we can have Jean handle it, or I can. Or, if she thinks, we can let one of the younger folks in with one of us there as a guide. We'll need to start developing the next line of healers and caretakers of this school. I may not be here forever." Oh yes, talk about his mortality as Hank is struggling with the guilt. To be fair, when it comes to mind games, even without his powers, Charles is just a dick and totally not fair! He starts to roll out, "Please close up for me when you two are finished, Miss O'Neal. And thank your students for my cookies. They were exactly how I wanted them to be," he says with that little smug grin of his.

Deadzone has posed:
Listening to Hank's response to Charles only increases Tate's own feelings of guilt. She's doing this to him, making Hank feel he has a dirty secret that needs hiding. She turns to look over at the plate of cookies, not sure what to say.

"I'll be sure the students get your message, Sir."

Beast has posed:
The biggest un-secret secret here is.. Beast KNOWS Charles is a dick. But it is Charles Dickishness that got the blue furry scientist to come out of his shell to begin with. But even today, as far as he has come, hank has fears and reservations about who he is.. WHAT he is.. more so than a lot of mutants.

But thats neither here nor there. Right now they have a young scared mutant (again) on their hands. "I will do my best to make sure David is physically hale as soon as possible, Professor. He is an intriging young gentleman that has gone through a lot of tragedy as of late, so you know I will do my best to help him where I can. I just wish.. I was better with the psychology than I am. I know, I know, you've trained me for years in the theory, and I am a fine clinicl psychologist. But I somehow thing he needs a more genle touch than clinical can provide. So don't go getting maudlin on us about your imminent demise." he says, trying to be as dryly hunourous as he can about it.

He then casts a look a Tatum.. and there is still guilt in his eyes.. though not about them. More about how childish he is acting. And sighs apologetically.

Professor X has posed:
He was already mostly out the door as Beast says the last little bit and Charles chuckles. "Haven't you ever heard of a service pet, Hank? Animals can get so much closer to people than other people can. So if you won't embrace the one side, Hank, then embrace the other and realize you still have so very much to offer the young man. If you allow yourself." And with that, Charles is a ghost on his way to wherever he goes when it's sleepy time.

Deadzone has posed:
"I never finished my studies in social work, and even if i had, I dont think I would be what that kid needs," says Tatum, still looking at the cookies as if the answers to life itself might be found there.

The suggestion of Hank as a service pet causes the home ec teacher to glare at Charles.
