Oracle has posed:
It's early in the night -- dark settled across the rooftops of Gotham a mere half an hour ago, and yet at least one member of the Bat's family is already in the sky. Soaring through the air between the Gotham National Bank and Wayne Industries' tower, Batgirl is not in a hurry but she has a particular destination in mind. She makes her way through the city, finally landing on a flat rooftop on the edge of Chinatown, settling in to do some serious watching tonight.

Lady Shiva has posed:
About fifteen minutes later, there is a hint of sound from behind Batgirl. Shiva typically makes no noise so her doing so is on purpose to let the woman know she is no longer alone. It's her version of being polite. She is standing in the middle of the roof, on the loose gravel that covers yet there had been no sound until she reaches the center. A testiment to her skills.

The woman is dressed in an Asian style shirt in red, simple black pants with slippers on her feet. There is a black leather trenchcoat worn over top. Her long hair is down, lifting lighting in the slight breeze blowing over the rooftop. She isn't trying to approach but instead waits, hands hanging at her sides although she is more than prepared to rrespond if the young woman reacts poorly to her arrival.

Oracle has posed:
The sound of feet is unexpected, but not exactly surprising. What's surprising is WHOSE boots made the noise. Batgirl comes quickly to her full height when she realizes who she's facing off with, but she doesn't make any aggressive movements. One hand goes to her belt and remains there. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" she asks quietly of the other woman. "I know my skills don't begin to measure up enough to warrant personal attention from you."

Lady Shiva has posed:
That earns a half smile from Shiva as she regards Batgirl. Her expression is difficult to read. She likes to share little of herself with others. So that little smile is very emotive of her. "For now, perhaps. Someday that may change." She keeps her eyes on Batgirl's masked face but she is aware of that hand at the belt. She knows the family carry all sorts of little toys in those utility belts. It wouldn't do to assume any of them are not dangerous simply because they are not to her skill levels in hand-to-hand.

"A little bird told me you are seeking out Richard Dragon. To help instruct the Little Bat in preparation for next year."

Oracle has posed:
A little bird did, hmm? Batgirl's skepticism is mostly hidden behind her mask, but she studies the assassin thoughtfully. "I am," she replies cautiously, perhaps unsure if that's against the rules or something. She doesn't know the rules of this engagement!

She makes no other movements, her hand remaining on her belt without pulling any toys. Batgirl definitely seems to be of the "don't start nothin', it won't BE nothin'" mindset right now. "What about it?" she asks, still in that cautious tone.

Lady Shiva has posed:
There is an air about Shiva which is so at oddes with who and what she is. It's a peaceful air. Zen. As though the world is completely in balance and her place in it is understood and embraced. She simply is. A force of nature. She can just as easily kill a person with that same zen quaility which is part of what is so frightening about her.

"You simply had to ask. I would be glad to as Richard to train him. Or any of you who may someday earn my attention. That is the only reason you sought him?"

Oracle has posed:
Batgirl is ... surprised isn't the right word. "I'm sure you're aware he's already trained many of us," she comments slowly. Some things are easily seen in the way a person moves, the way they fight, when you're as versed as people like Shiva and Batman are. "What other reasons do you suppose I might have?" Maybe it's impertinent. But Barbara's kind of the curious sort and if Shiva wants to chat, well... why not? Maybe she'll learn something.

Lady Shiva has posed:
"I am aware. I have known Richard for many years. I have helped him train others. I have brought him people to train. He is..." Shiva pauses as though she is testing out a new word. "Friend." Her brow furrows slightly as she considers the word and all it's connotations. Then the moment has passed and her serene expression returns. "I am certain he would be willing to assist you both. After all, sometday it may be your turn." That brings another smile to her face as her expression shifts to speculative as she flicks her gaze over Batgirl, assessing her stance and wariness. "Although your Father figure would protest. Again."

Oracle has posed:
"Yes, well... when you want to fight to the death just to see who is better, it's ... perhaps a little bit of overkill," Batgirl ventures, not in an insolent tone -- merely an observation. "Not that I can fault you for wanting to test a student. But one cannot expect them to continue to learn unless one leaves them alive to continue to improve." She shrugs slightly. "If you are of a mind to pass the word along, I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated by all concerned. Regardless of what happens with all of this, the additional training is never the wrong choice."

When the gaze flickers across her own person, Batgirl does go a little more toward 'ready to move in an instant.' "Quite frankly, I don't see the value in becoming so good that someone of your ilk merely wants to kill me to prove they're better," she admits. "I do what I do for other reasons."

Lady Shiva has posed:
There is a lifting of her brows. Shiva considers her a long moment as she weighs the words. "Perhaps I should speak with the Batman. Your education in regards to me is severely lacking." She never moves, nevers shifts her weight or changes her balance. No movement other than the shifting of her jacket and hair in that light breeze. There is a slight hardening of her expression, a hint of that danger beginning to leak through the edges of her normally tranquil expression. "I am offended at your judgement of me. It is insulting." She shifts for the first time, chin lifting a bit and shoulders squared as begins to turn to the side as though to move away. "When you know me, then you may judge. Until then, this conversation is over."

Oracle has posed:
"Perhaps so," she murmurs readily in agreement of Shiva's assertion about her education. The observation was not intended to offend, but well... it's not like they're gonna be best buddies! "My apologies for the offense," she does offer as Shiva turns to leave. "Thank you for sending word to Dragon."

Lady Shiva has posed:
As Shiva reaches the edge of the building, she glances back over her shoulder. "There is more to me than you know," she says simply. "I will contact Richard and, if he is willing, he will arrive in his own way." She never knows if he'll just walk up to someone or not. They have very different paths in life. A moment later, she steps off the side of the roof and is gone as silently as she arrived.
