Date of Scene: 31 October 2017
Location: Xavier's School, Westchester, New York
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: X-Man, Jubilee

X-Man has posed:
For the last few days Nate has been in the Xavier Mansion, X-Men, Medical Facility recovering from his last bout of power spiking. The first day he was out completely, his vital signs all showed he is in good health, but it appeared as if he was in some kind of comatose state. The next day he woke up, would eat, and then go immediately back to sleep. This is the third day, and he seems to be fine even though the X-Men are insisting on more tests now that he's awake. Throughout the ordeal they have been scanning him, and his mind was extremely active...

For Jubilee, even when Nate was not conscious she could sense that he was mentally active and aware. At times, she swears as if he was standing next to her, whether it was in the Med Bay or back at her Cabin. There continued to be flashes of his past through their link... Severe beatings taken in the slave pens... Reading Sinister's mind when he couldn't have been more than 8 years old... looking out from some kind of glass encasement filled with liquid... fighting, running, saving humans...

Now, though, he's sitting on the edge of the bed, picking up a shirt he's about to put on. He seems frustrated about being stuck here, and you can hear him grumble "I'm fine... hate bein' stuck in this hospital place... need to see the Sun, feel the Wind, get outta here.."

Jubilee has posed:
"Then let's get you out of here. God knows what they need more tests for. When I got bit, they didn't care to do a single test, just tossed me out the door. Dropkicked me my pink slip. And they KNEW me. The hell do they need more tests on you for, anyway?"

Jubilee is pacing. Just as she has been for three days. "I know how to make you better, they don't." But what she's really afraid of is the possibility that they might decide to do the same to him. And he needs a chance to talk to Jean. What he doesn't need is more experiments. And that is ALL they are...experiments. Jubilee is enraged.

X-Man has posed:
Pulling the shirt over his head, Nate can be heard talking even though the cloth slightly muffles it, "Yeah, let's get out of here before Hank shows back up..." Pulling the shirt down, he stands up and doesn't look any worse for wear for someone that has been out for the most of the past couple of days. He walks around the bed, and takes Jubilee by the hand "Hey..." Waiting for her eyes to meet his own before he continues, "...it's ok, Jubes. Just lookin' out for me. Makin' sure I'm not goin' to kill myself." and from their connection, Jubilee can tell that Nate actually believes it.

"Somethin' I read or heard from a persons head, is that people don't Understand your issue, and people always Fear what they don't Understand." Nate pulls her into a hug, his head resting against her own, "It ain't right, and it's somethin' I won't forgive them for until they ask for your forgiveness." He pauses, and adds "But you got me now, so that stuff don't matter, right?"

Jubilee has posed:
"I guess so. I'm not worried about me. I'm worried about you. You need a lot of food and a lot of sleep. And somebody who cares about ya." Jubilee returns his hug, holding Nate tightly. "I just don't want 'em hurting you. So if we're gonna go home, I'm makin' you somethin' awesome to eat. The food here sucks. Not one fudgecicle in the whole freezer anymore. Sonsabitches raided my stash."

X-Man has posed:
"I know, Jubes." Is Nate's response, letting her hug as tightly as she wants for as long as she wants before moving, "I got a small chance to see and talk to Jean and Scott..." Nate starts to explain, his thoughts drift back towards the short interaction, "...they seemed nice. They were worried 'bout me even with as awkward as the situation was..." He still doesn't think of either of them as his 'parents' but there is no denying the physical similarities, and the connection with Jean transcends just normal telepathic abilities. "I can't wait for what you goin' to make!!" Nate replies, and just then his stomach rumbles, "..and my stomach agrees!"

Jubilee has posed:
"I made a pot of stew big enough to feed the North Korean army. That ought to last ya till tomorrow at least." Jubilee finally releases him with a soft smile. "Lots of veggies and meat." She changes her demeanor slightly, doing her best Nacho Libre impersonation. Because even in 2025 people can still quote it. "This stuff here gives you no Eagle Powers. It gives you no nuuutrients." Never mind the fact that Nate has probably never seen a movie. Any movie.

X-Man has posed:
As Jubilee steps back and tells him about the stew, Nate's features brighten into a broad smile, "Oh yes! I love your stew..." He takes her hand, and looks around "Uhm, how do we get out of here?" A slight coloring to his cheeks, as he adds "I don't really remember bein' brought here to begin with..." When she does her impression, Nate will cock his head to the side, a raised eyebrow completing the 'What the Hell' look, but eventually says "Uhm, ok? Eagle Powers sounds cool, though. So how do we get those?" Without waiting for an answer, he heads towards the door of the room, "Let's get while the gettin' is good!" and with a grin he adds, "Come with me if you want to live!"

Jubilee has posed:
"What the hell?" Jubilee yells after him as they dash out the door and down hallways to make their escape. "You've seen "Terminator" but not "Nacho Libre"? Taking Nate's hand as they run down down one hallway and up another, she squeaks when they round a corner to come face to face with a Deadpool cardboard cutout, and they whirl and run the other way. "Would now be a good time to admit I'm lost?"

X-Man has posed:
"What's a Terminator? or a Nacho Libre?" Nate asks, completely serious, and in no way messing with her about movie quotes. "As they run through the various hallways of the Underground X-Men facility, Nate frowns a little each step they take, and under his breath he adds "This place is kind of like the areas in Sinister's Compound. Hi-tech. Sterile. Empty." The Deadpool cutout almost gets blasted to pieces before Nate recognizes that it has no mind, and he snickers to himself about his mistake. "Well, sounds like we have that in common." His eye starts to glow a little, and as he turns a slow circle, he says "I think it's this way..." and heads down a left hand corridor.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee dashes after Nate as he careens leftward. She has the Deadpool cutout under one arm. "I admire your ability to know where the hell we are." She catches up to him and adds, "We are watching movies this weekend."

X-Man has posed:
"I just asked the computers for a layout of the Mansion, and they showed me the schematics." Nate replies as if talking to computers is something anyone can do on a Saturday morning. "Shouldn't be much further." Left, Right, Straight, and then a set of stairs. Then they are in the Mansion proper. "Ok, movies sound like fun, because it reminds me of the acting troupe from home." Once they are in the Mansion, he takes a hold of Jubilee's hand again, and says "Ok, your turn!" he leans over, giving her a small kiss on the cheek, and glancing at the Deadpool. "Hmmm." then shakes his head, and lets it go.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee easily leads Nate out to the lawn, from there. "I can't talk to computers. I didn't even know a person COULD talk to them. Besides the cussing you give 'em when they won't print." She stops then, looking back and forth. <My bike's in the garage or we can fly, if you're up to it. Jeep's at the cabin.>

X-Man has posed:
"They're different..." Nate admits, "...most just are simple in what you can ask or get from them. Some of the ones you have here, though, they know a bunch of stuff and it's kind of like talkin' to people." He grins at her as they head out into the lawn, "You ever wonder if they cuss back at you? Damn stupid Human, always typin' in the wrong words?!?" Once outside, he almost immediately is ready to fly, and then sighs "Jean wanted me to take it easy for a bit..." Looking towards the Garage, he says, "...so take me for a ride my Biker Lady!!"

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee leads the way to the garage and when they get to her bike, she puts him on, letting him scoot back as she seats herself astride the bike. "Just hold on, ok? You won't stop blowing yourself up, the last thing we need is you falling off. If I break you, I'll never forgive myself."

And with that, she starts the bike, walks it out the door, and tears off down the driveway. Far faster than anyone has a right to be going. But she guides the bike with practiced ease, as they hit triple digits on speed. Before they know it, Breakstone Lake is off to one side, and they are pulling into Jubilee's isolated driveway. "That's how I fly when you're not around."

X-Man has posed:
Nate happily hops on, then wraps his arms around Jubilee's waist as she gets settled, and he nods his head "Ok. I promise not to fall off this time!" He leans in, giving her another kiss on the cheek, before they take off "I'm pretty sure you aren't goin' to break me on the bike..." and he leaves the rest unsaid with a sly grin.

He smiles at the rush of air, the sights and sounds of outside, and the thrill of the speeds they ride. She can feel his excitement and joy in being outside again, and 'flying down the road' with her in this way. Once they are pulling in, he loosens his grip a bit, and chuckles "I like it. We should do it your way more often." and then he hops off the bike as she guides it into her normal spot.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee pulls Nate into a her embrace for a moment and holds him close, the second they are inside with the door shut behind them. "I was terrified," she admits quietly. "What happened in there? I can read people pretty easily but the only ones I ever saw were Emma and Jean, and well....YOU try readin' that..." She pauses. "Of course...YOU probably can..."

X-Man has posed:
Nate wraps his arms around Jubilee, a smile on his features, his heart beating calmly, and contentment felt of the link they share. "I'm sorry, Jubes. I never meant to scare you..." Letting his thoughts settle, he tries to explain the series of events. "I know the Mansion is protected from spying on the outside. I went there to practice. I found I could make my body move through objects. Kitty found me, and she seemed worried that I was practicing without anyone watching me. I showed her how I can manipulate matter, and I must have caused some alarms to go off..." His hands reast easily on the small of her back, his eyes distant as he recalls what he can "Scott came out first, followed by Jean and Emma. When my scan hit Jean and I was shaking Scott's hand I had 'nother flashback. Illusion of the Scott and Jean and Sinister from my World...." He frowns, considering what happened next, "...then it get's fuzzy. My nose was bleedin' bad, and my head started hurtin' too... Next I can remember I was in the place you found me. I guess Jean spent a lot of time there just watchin'. I think they're all worried about what I can do..."

Jubilee has posed:
"Well they should be. They know they better treat somebody as powerful as you right, or ZOT!" She smiles, gives him a squeeze, and kisses him once softly. She releases him briefly to turn and pick up the lifesize Deadpool cutout that she got to the cabin through the magic of not mentioning in her pose what she did with it while they were on the bike, or walking inside. She carries it into the bedroom and stands Deadpool in the corner, facing the center of the room. "How about some stew?" she asks, emerging from the bedroom.

X-Man has posed:
"No one wants to be ZOT'ed!" Nate agrees, and continues to not mention the strange cardboard cutout. Returning her kiss, a contented sigh escaping his lips, and watches her as she walks to the bedroom. When she comes back out Nate is in the kitchen, foraging for whatever is easily available to eat, and nods his head in agreement "Stew sounds great." Then he does recall something, "I think I remember Hank mentionin' somethin' 'bout failsafes removed or some such for my power. I know that I've got real high potential, but somethin' 'bout not bein' able to filter it right... Kind of sounds like what Forge was worried 'bout."

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee frets at her bottom lip, biting it thoughtfully as she furrows her brow. "Well then...maybe it's something I can't fix, and you may have to get their help. I'm not gonna let you zot yourself, that's for sure. And it seems to be happening a little more frequently. I'm gettin' worried, Nate." She's pulling a ginormous stockpot out of the fridge and setting it on the stove to heat up. Carefully this time, she lights the burner beneath it.

X-Man has posed:
Looking up from the fridge, a stick of cheese hanging from his mouth, "Nah Jumes, ya always make me feel mettah..." he says around the cheese, and chomps the rest of it into his mouth. He pulls out a gallon of milk, and pours himself a large glass "I'm gettin' stronger. That's true. I think that's why I'm havin' more trouble lately. Maybe I should learn how to control it better..." he puts the milk back in the fridge, and takes a long drink "I'll talk to Jean 'gain. See what she has to say 'bout it." He runs a hand through her hair as he walks to the couch, and flops down with a sigh. "For now, I just want to relax, and spend some time with my favorite Lady."
