The Battle of Brooklyn, Part VI
Date of Scene: 02 November 2017
Location: Brooklyn, New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Zhao Lin, April O'Neil, Savage Dragon, Vincent Black

Zhao Lin has posed:
It was only a night or two ago that the police report went out regarding that so-called "SHIELD operation" that resulted in 5 members of a Chinese gang dead in an alleyway in Hell's Kitchen. They were not typical Chinese mafia - each one bore a tattoo of a serpent surrounding a skull. Two were killed with Chinese swords, three were shot. Witnesses claimed to see a furred man with a tail, who looked like a snow leopard, fighting the thugs. Zhao Lin fits that description to a tee, and no one else has seen him since.

That is, until today. Here, in broad daylight, the martial artist makes his appearance. He's crossing the street, heading towards what looks like an abandoned warehouse. His movements are unsteady, the leopardine man clearly intoxicated beyond a reasonable amount. He stumbles across the street - may as well add jaywalking to the list of offenses - while at the same time upending his canteen, taking a heavy drink from it while he walks. He's unaware, perhaps, of just how much trouble he might be in, at least once the dirty cops with connections to the criminal underground get wind of his involvement in the recent deaths.

April O'Neil has posed:
April O'Neil worked the morning at the Station in Midtown Manhattan and she was now riding her bike back home to get ready for a live podcast online with a friend's show, she was going to be one of the guests on the show to talk about the report of Morlock murders in the sewers and the 'ninja turtles' that were supposedly seen fighting the murderers. April was considered an expert on these mysterious vigilante turtlemen, so she was eager to spin the story to keep the guys safe...

With yellow jacket on to keep her safer on her bike, white/black bike helmet on, the young reporter pedaled her way down the street, unaware of who the drunk was on the right... those were pretty common amongst the homeless.

Savage Dragon has posed:
The Savage Dragon though he prefers Dragon is new to New York. It shows by the way he walks around looking up and reading signs or staring at the GPS on his phone than the rest of those who walk past. A giant green man with a fin on his head wearing a Chicago Bears Jersey stands out, especially when in one hand hes cautiously juggling four hotdogs between fingers. Cell phone in the large hand.
"So very lost." Fortunately for Dragon hes got an adjustment period to get used to things in order before hes on active duty with the NYPD. Badge and gun are already his at least. That badge actually hanging off his belt (but hidden under shirts length). The gun not on his person. At the moment as he plays tourist and follows his phones directions around he is oblivious to those around him.
"Swipe damn you!" A quick look around and he shoves that pile of hotdogs in to the nearest persons chest. "Hold these willya."
"SWIPE!" Big Green shouts at his phone, a far too large finger slashing furiously and uselessly.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent's been tipped off by an informant in a baggy hoodie, a grey beanie, and a pair of very baggy jeans. The cop starts down an ally after blocking it with his car and preventing any escape that might be had by the known suspect. The cop slowly opens the door to his car and climbs out, his wizened eyes scanning the area for the suspect he was tipped off that was in the area.

Leaning against the back quarter panel of his car and crosses his legs and pulls out a pack of cigarettes, poping one out to pull from the pack with his lips before lifting his other hand to light it. He's trying to remain calm while looking out for the rumored Snow-Leopard-Man.

Zhao Lin has posed:
Zhao Lin is pretty easy to see, really. He's not making any effort to be sneaky or conceal himself, and in fact he's about to head into the alley where Vincent parked his car when he stumbles and almost walks right into April on her bike! "Ai-yaah!" he exclaims loudly, spinning around to avoid having his gourd knocked from his hand! "Watch where you are going!" His accent is thickly Chinese, and he growls in his throat before stumbling drunkenly into the alley. He doesn't seem to notice Vincent, or the other cop that's lost roaming the street currently. His tail flicks irritably behind him, and he continues down the alley, closer to Vincent, as he takes another drink from his canteen, chugging down a few mouthfuls of the clear liquid within.

April O'Neil has posed:
April noticed Savage Dragon, how could you not? And its her resulting staring that had her nearly run RIGHT OVER Zhao.

Her hands squeezed on the handlebars of her bike and her tires skidded to a stop as Zhao blurted out back at her.

"I'm sorry!" She shouted at him and then her blue eyes narrowed when she saw Zhao's face. "Hey... its you." She said at him. Zhao had saved her from a group of angry attackers back in June or July, and then he'd walked her all the way home like a drunekn gentleman. She hadn't seen him since.

"Are-- are you alright?" She asked him.

April went to get off of her bike and walk after him into the alley, wheeling her bike at her side.

Savage Dragon has posed:
It is the 'Ai yah!" That snaps Dragon's head up from the phone in his grasp. His green eyes center on Zhao and April, cop instinct has him being nosy for a moment. Its only briefly though as the two in question apparently know one another.
The individual beside him, smelling of hotdogs now and quie annoyed looking stares openly at Dragon walks over and hovers near a trashcan, "Don't you do it." Dragon says roughly. The short heavy fellow in glasses just slowly drops the hotdogs in and walks briskly past the Green former Chicago-Cop, "Good day, sir."
"Why you ass..."
"I said good day!"
Forgetting his phone now and the two wheeling the bike in to the alley Dragon races over to check on the now ruined meal of dogs. His fingers crushing down on the rim of the outer can, crushing it under his strength. A string of obscenities escaping him.

Vincent Black has posed:
The detective with the badge on a necklace around his neck is still leaning against his car with his hand up against the butt of his cigarette before he pulls it out and exhales a plume of smoke. Vince pushes off his car and into a slow walk towards April and Zhao, though the string of cusses from the other end of the alley. That causes Vincent to turn his head for a moment but he looks back towards Zhao and April.

As they get closer, Vincent motions towards April with his eyes as he moves his hand to motion towards the hanging badge.

"Excuse me sir. Can I have a few words with you?"

Zhao Lin has posed:
Zhao Lin twists around on his heels, stumbling back a pace or two, when April stops and seems to recognize him. He wipes his mouth on the back of his arm, watching her as she comes down the alley towards him, bike in tow. "Oh, yes, I remember you. April O'Neil, you are a reporter." He grins broadly, his tail flicking behind him. "You have not said anything bad about me to the public, have you?"

His ear twitches when he hears another voice behind him, that of Vincent. Again he twists about, swaying unsteadily, like he's had -way- too much to drink. In fact, he drinks some more, watching Vincent as he approaches. He's still unware of Savage Dragon's presence on the street, lamenting his lost dogs. When he lowers the canteen again, Zhao Lin starts to talk to Vincent rapidly. And loudly. And in Mandarin Chinese. He's speaking pretty fast, even someone fluent in the language, but not a native speaker, would have trouble keeping up with him.

April O'Neil has posed:
April glanced back when she heard Savage's voice back over her shoulder, but her main concern was on the mysterious Zhao and where he's been at all this time.

"You... look drunker than I remember." She said back at him. "And no, I haven't mentioned you to anyone."

April would stop wheeling her bike along when Vincent made his presencen known and she turned back to look at him. "Hey." She said at the older detective. She looked him over when he gave her some kind of 'signal' and she then glanced back at Zhao.

"Are you arresting him?" She asked, cause she kind of had a big mouth and didn't really contain it all that well.

Savage Dragon has posed:
Giving up on the hotdogs Savage Dragon resumes the battle with his phone. This day so far turning out to be a bust. The conversation down the alley is caught by his ears but only bits and pieces, "Reporter. O'Neil. Drunk. Arrest?" Arrest has him looking over curiously. Minding his own as best he can, now he is just being extra nosy.
Don't mind the giant green man trying to look super preoccupied by modern technology though by the standards of now his cell phone is a geriatric.

Vincent Black has posed:
"Whoa. Slow down. English." Vincent says, starting at Zhao and frowning before he glances to April and motioning again with a bit more fervor to get her to back away to a safe distance. Vince turns his attention towards Zhao and starts to read him his Miranda Rights.

"You have the right to remain silent." And the whole warning is issued as Vincent reaches behind his brown leather jacket to pull the cuffs off of his belt and holds them up towards Zhao and motioning for him to lift his hands to be cuffed.

Zhao Lin has posed:
Zhao Lin shuts up when Vincent tells him to speak English, but as soon as he starts to read him his rights, the leopard-man changes tactics. "Shi de xiansheng. Okay, I leave now? Okay." He smiles brightly, like he doesn't understand the situation, and turns to wave at April. "Okay, nice see you again, goodbye." He smiles at Vincent again. "Goodbye, thank you." He bows a couple of times in that stereotypical manner one would expect from a Chinese tourist, and starts to stumble his way around Vincent. Should the cop make a grab for him, of course, Zhao Lin just so happens to stumble and sway just out of reach, avoiding being grabbed hold of.

April O'Neil has posed:
April caught sight of Savage Dragon again out of the corner of her eye, but his football jersey just made him look like a curios onlooker so she accepted that and put her eyes back on Vincent and Zhao when he started reading the leopard man his rights.

"Woah, woah." She said. "What did he do? He's just drunk. There's drunks all over this place." April pointed across the street at old Mrs. Crabapple. "She's drunk ALL DAY!"

When Zhao started his retreat though, April visibly winced as she could tell this was probably going to go badly... she knew that Zhao was a capable fighter, Vincent? She wasn't so sure about.

Savage Dragon has posed:
Cell phone pocketed now Savage Dragon has serious face going on. His brow lowering to darken his features as he strides down the alleyway, "Perhaps I can be of some assistance here." He looks like some mutant tourist in that Bears jersey.

Vincent Black has posed:
This isn't the first time someone has tried to weasel their way out of an arrest, Vincent does reach for the man's arm, but also, shifts his body weight and tries to block Zhao's advance.

"No thank you! Please step back." Vincent says towards the tall green man but his focus is still on Zhao. "No, you spoke to the reporter, you're under arrest for the suspected murders of five different men with witnesses describing someone exactly like you." Vincent says, to Zhao, but also to get April to understand the gravity.

Zhao Lin has posed:
Zhao Lin peers at Vincent, looking perplexed. "Sorry? I do not understand. Excuse please, I am late." He smiles again, taking another drink from his canteen while he attempts, again, to get around Vincent. This time, should the cop grab for him, Zhao Lin reacts by grabbing the cop's wrist, and with a jerking tug and a twist, ends up slipping around him, turning Vincent around to face back the other way, while Zhao Lin is already walking back the way he came, away from Vincent's car. He smiles at Savage Dragon, a big friendly grin. "Hello! Lovely day, yes?" he says in passing.

April O'Neil has posed:
April did what any reporter would do who didn't want to directly get involved in a fight herself.

She pulled out her phone and started recording it on video. She didn't know Zhao -that- well and she figured Vincent was eitehr going to be in a lot of trouble or might need some kind of video evidence to help him with all of this.

April gave a glance over at Dragon and she looked him up and down for a second, cause he had a 'feeling' about him as well, but when Zhao made his aggressive she looked back at him.

"Oh god." She muttered.

Savage Dragon has posed:
"It was. Yeah. Wait, no not at all." Savage Dragon ignores Vincent about staying back. As Zhao makes to just pass him by he reaches over and grabs the large green dumpster hauling it between himself and the wall, blocking the path out of the alley unless Zhao wants to go all super acrobatic. Possible. Dragon has seen everything and wouldn't be shocked.

"No, Officer Dragon of the 11th Precinct for the NYPD. Not God. Thanks though." He teases April without looking at her, his eyes deadset on Zhao. Not even sure what this is about but hes here for backup!

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent's arm is forcibly moved and he's spun around by Zhao. The ancient man blinks back over towards Zhao and then he blinks a few times. Should have figured the guy was a super. But could never have guessed he was a cop. Vincent pops his neck and takes another puff of his cigarette and steps towards Zhao.

"Ting!" Vincent says, remembering a bit of Mandarin he's picked up over the long years he's lived, the times he would stop in the chinese district to eat dinner or converse with the locals while on a case or not on a case. The man has been through a hell of a lot and through wars. He's tired of being bested. "Now. You are under arrest and if you walk away I will use force and add that to the list of charges against you." Vincent warns walking closer towards the Asian man.

Zhao Lin has posed:
Zhao Lin stops when the dumpster is moved in front of him. In fact, he looks up at Dragon, the much taller man practically looming over the Asian snow leopard, and his eyes narrow slightly. "This is not what you think it is," he says in a low tone, meant for Dragon's ears only. Then he hears Vincent approaching behind him, and the martial artist turns once more to face him. "Okay," he says finally, "I see you are leaving me no choice. I am sorry."

Zhao Lin takes a few stumbling steps towards Vincent, at the same time taking another drink from his gourd. He's just about back to Vincent when he trips, sways and stumbles heavily, taking a few harder steps towards Vincent, when his arms jerk out forward with incredible force! He strikes Vincent right in the chest and the stomach with enough strength to knock the man backwards. Zhao Lin holds that pose for a moment, his legs locked in a rooted stance, his arms outstretched, hands turned inward and clenched as though holding a pair of cups - though one is still holding his canteen. In that moment, suddenly, the martial artist is steady as a rock, his muscles taut, his eyes suddenly sharp and locked on Vincent. Then he draws back upright, and adopts an uneasy stance, arms still held up, slowly rotating which is in front as he stumbles a little to his left.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent was about to side step when Zhao's attack materiallized and the blows land on the cop, hitting him in the chest and ribs. The force of the blows flow through the man, sending him backwards off his feet onto the pavement. The old cop rolls over quickly, scuffling his jacket as he gets back to his feet, seemingly shruging off the damage with little more than a wince.

"Okay. No."
Vincent slips the cuffs back into their own holster on his belt and he dusts off his backside before looking to Zhao, taking up a rudimentary defensive stance and stepping closer to Zhao, his hands help up in front of his face and chest again.

Savage Dragon has posed:
Savage Dragon says, "It never is and thats a bad idea... I suggest you stand down or just entirely not listen to me and continue to assault a police officer." A loud sigh escapes Dragon and in a blur of green on oranges and blacks he is leaping through the air, swiping with fast grab towards Zhao. It's quick but its clumsy and all brute force. Dragon's not used to finesse having to be employed. His way gets things done... Usually."

April O'Neil has posed:
April was just wincing and watching all of this unfold. She looked over to Dragon as he said that he was god which made her smirk for a mere moment before she'd look back toward Vince. She couldn't remember Zhao's name...

"He's right!" She shouted in agreement with Dragon. "You're gonna be in worse if you don't stop!" She warned the snow leopard man.

Zhao Lin has posed:
Zhao Lin is incredibly difficult to predict. His movements have him weaving and swaying unnecessarily, like he's having a hard time staying upright from intoxication. The truth is, the leopard-man is practically sober, and he knows exactly what he's doing. "Yaaaaah!" He hollars as he charges towards towards Vincent! It looks like he's going to tackle him, but without warning he tumbles forward into a summersault, just ducking under Dragon's grab. He rolls onto his hands, lifting himself up off the ground and kicking with both feet at Vincent's ankles, shoving them out from under him! The fall forward is interrupted though, as Zhao Lin switches back to crouching on one leg, and shoves at Vincent's chest with both hands, reversing the direction and instead throwing him backwards! He rises up quickly, balanced on one leg, the other outstretched in front of him, arms held out like a bird's wings. That turns into a forward flip, slamming his heel down into Vincent's stomach, knocking the wind out of him with force.

Then the drunken boxer is up on his feet, and he grabs April by the wrist, only to pull her a few paces away. "Okay! I have to go now. Good to see you again, stay out of trouble!" He shouts the last of it as he bolts towards Vincent's car, launching himself over the hood with a parkour-style leap, and he dashes off down the street!

April O'Neil has posed:
April is tugged by the wrist by Zhao and she listens to his response. When he runs again though she just shouts after him. "You're going to get yourself killed!" Her words were a bit agitated now because she knew how cops banded together when one of their own was injured or worse by a criminal.

April turned off the video recording and she'd go to dial the police to get them here to deal with Vincent while she looked to Savage. "Is he okay?" She'd ask him, since he said HE was a cop. "Are you under cover?"

Savage Dragon has posed:
Savage Dragon missing with his ill timed swipe pivots with a surprising amount of grace for a man of such bulk, it looks like hes ready to pursue the spry mutant but that ceases as soon as April's wrist is released and Dragon can cover Vincent's downed self. He doesn't bother to give chase instead hunting for the mic either on the unconsious man's body or the car.
"This is Officer Dragon on site at uh... shit, " He rambles off the last street sign he seen, "We have a 10-1 Officer might need some medical assistance and the suspect is on foot traveling... " A mumble, "South."
Dragon releases the mic's button and leaves Vincent where he is.
"You're going to need to stick around to give an eye witness account. I don't know. I think he'll be fine... just had his clock cleaned by a ninja." He informs April. "Also, you kind of almost looked like you knew that guy. Whats up with that?" Not cop jargon there.
"Undercover? You're joking right?"

April O'Neil has posed:
April put her left hand on her hip and her right one (still holding her red phone) just hung up the phone when she heard him call it is.

"Yeah..." April sighed, annoyed. "I know.... I've been through this way too many times." And it was true, the cops around here knew her like she was one of them practically... though they sure didn't treat her like one of them.

April looked to the south down the alley to where Zhao had gone and she motioned down it with her left hand. "Yeah, I mean, well, I kind of know him." She said to Dragon, looking at him. "He saved me from some guys who were upset about an article I ran on them online. He's not a bad guy, he's a... you know, like a vigilante. They're a dime a dozen these days, right? Well he's one of them. At least, I think. I only ever seen him that one night."

Savage Dragon has posed:
"I kind of figured." Dragon remarks about the vigilante thing. "But right, dime a dozen and really you never know. The smart ones work with the law though." A shrug from the brawny police officer and his arms fold over his chest. The stomach rumbling ignored. "What a crummy day." He laments. "Seriously just craptastic."
"Welcome to New York, right?" Dragon manages a grin at April, "Names Dragon by the way. You wouldn't happen to know where uh, you know, nevermind. I'll figure it out when we're done here." Done here what? Awaiting an ambulance and actual on duty red-n-blues to show.
