Date of Scene: 09 November 2017
Location: Xavier's School, Westchester, New York
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Deadzone, Cindy Larsen, Pixie, Kaydin LeGraize

Deadzone has posed:
Tate waits for the students to arrive, stetching to make sure she is limbered up. She wears her X-Man uniform, a black kevleather catsuit with no sleeves, gauntlets, knee high combat boots and her batons strapped to her thighs. Her long black hair is worn in a braid down her back, the streaks of color weaving through.

She's warned the students that this will be a 0 powers training session. In other words, the room will be under her influence. Yes, this makes some students nervous, but it's a mandatory lesson. What do you do if your powers are stolen, like the Genosha collars would have done, or Tate's own power.

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Cindy was nervous for more reasons than one, of course. She's not had a lot of combat training, but she knew, with the state of the world as it is, it's important to be able to defend herself in dangerous situations. -Especially- since she can't hide her mutation, either. Additionally, well, it's been a few years since Cindy's mutation manifested, and she wasn't sure what was going to happen when she stepped into the room.
Making her way inside is, in fact, a bit shocking for her. She gasps at the sensation, stopping just inside the door, staring at her own hands. The claws deformed into regular human fingernails, and the fur along her fingers and arms fades away. It isn't until the sensation hits her torso that Cindy actually cries out in pain. "Hng-aaah!" She screams, clutching at her face with her hands, falling to her knees. She grits her teeth, her feline features reversing, compacting back into a human-shaped skull. As it finishes she falls forward onto her hands, gasping for breath, for a moment just staying there as a couple of tears spatter to the ground between her hands.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn heard that a class was being held for the younger students, who sought perhaps to be X Men in the future. Very curious about that, because maybe she can picks omething up herself, the graduate Megan flies her way into the room. Who exactly Tatum's powers effect, and who they don't, seems up for grabs. But Megan was born a mutant, so her wings remain in place.

She stops in the back of the room though, and lands. Feet on the ground, leaning a shoulder on the back wall, for now not chiming in but just watching and listening.

Deadzone has posed:
Watches with obvious concern, but not moving from where she is. THe students were all warned ahead of time. A lot of the students seem uncomfortable. They were just getting used to their abilities, thinking of them as a part of themselves. To not have access to them feels a little like being naked.

Once everyone that was assigned to the class, she turns to the class and smiles. "Hello everyone and welcome. I know what your feeling. You're feeling a little vulnerable. That's why you're here. One of my biggest advantages is that many mutants come to depend on their power so strongly that they have no idea what to do with themselves without it. That's why when Genosha was enslaving mutants, many just did what they were told. Here at Xavier's, we strive to teach you as many coping strategies as we can, and this includes how to fight when you don't have access to something you have spent years learning to use. Feeling impotent sucks balls." She looks over to the students that snicker at her choice of words, waiting for them to stop.

Nodding her head to the graduate that enters, a wave of nostalgia for her homeworld coming over her, Ms. O'Neal gets back to her lesson. "Okay, so partner up and we're going to go over some basic holds and escapes from holds."

Cindy Larsen has posed:
That was, in fact, why Cindy was most nervous. She was expecting it to hurt, and it did. After a few deep breaths, she pushes herself back to her feet, wiping away the tears from her eyes. Once she's standing up agian, she's just an ordinary-looking blonde girl with blue eyes. She sniffles again and looks down at her hands. "Wow," she whispers, looking herself over. Then Tatum is starting the class, and her head snaps back up to pay attention.

Cindy listens closely as Tatum explains the premise of the class. When she's told to partner up, Cindy bites her lip and looks around a bit. The only other person here she recognizes is Megan, so Cindy approaches her. "H-hey there, Megan," she says, "Um, it's Cindy." She tells her who she is because, let's face it, she looks -completely- different right now. "Uh, would you mind being my partner?" She points with her thumb towards Tatum, indicating that she means for the class and isn't, in fact, that creepy kind of awkward person.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn takes a slow deep breath. Seeing Cindy react as she is, she beginst o walk over, ready to offer help. But then Cindy recovers herself, and in fact seems to be approaching on her own!

"Cindy, good morning," she nods, riasing a hand for a wave. "Well I'm not really here for the class, but if you need one, I can definitely help with that. I can try anyway.

Deadzone has posed:
Some of the students start to mutter. It would seem that Ms. O'Neal has a sort of split personality. When she is teaching Home Ec, she's smiling, laughing, and encouraging the students to have fun while they learn. She's one of the 'fun' teachers. When she teaches music though, she turns into one of those Russian ballet teachers; hard, stern, expecting perfection. It would seem her music teacher persona is the one that teaches combat too. Lovely. Some students comment under their breath that since Tatum got the Music teacher position, she's become a real downer.

"Okay, so you're going to pick your attacker and your attackee. We'll go a few rounds and then switch. Holds are a lot easier then getting out of those same holds. That is what will take the most practice. And yes, Hailey, I *COULD* teach this class without taking your powers away, but I want you feeling that vulnerability. You need to know what that feels like so it's not a total shock to you. Some people get physically ill when their powers are stolen. You need to know if you're one of those."

She goes over to one of the pairs and shows the class the first hold. A basic arm bar. Most of the students already learned this combat, but it's a good refresher. Tatum lets the students practice the arm bar for a while, walking among the pairs to observe them. She gets to Cindy and Megan and smiles to Cindy, resting a hand on her back. "Sorry I couldn't have made that easier." She looks to Megan then, that look like she knows the other woman. Which makes no sense since they barely met here in the school.

Cindy Larsen has posed:
Cindy nods her head to Megan. "I would like that," she says, "I, uh, I'm not really familiar with anyone else here, and... Well..." She looks around at the other students. "I'm kind of, um, the odd one out, anyways, it seems." When Tatum joins them, she offers a smile to the teacher. "Um, it's alright. Thank you for saying something though." It's nice to know that she actually cares that it hurt. "When you told us it would undo some of the mutation, possibly all of it... I came in expecting that. It hurt a lot more the first time, so... Hopefully it'll hurt a little less when we're done here." Maybe she should take some ibuprofen first. "So, uh..." She looks back to Megan and smiles. "Do you want to attack first, or should I?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods to Cindy. "Well, I'm not really a big combat person, but I shall do my best." She'll then look to Tatum, listening, and taking it all in, what's intended. "Hello. I'm not a student, I hope it's not an issue that I'm going to be Cindy's partner here. I'll try not to jump ahead of the class any." Then with a snicker, she'll turn to Cindy. "Why don't you attack first? Get comfortable with yourself with less stress?"

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum walks among the students, checking form, correcting form as it is needed. Her face is stern, her tone is equally as business-like. She does offer encouragement though, so she's not a complete Dragon Lady. "Okay, once you are comfortable performing the arm bar, I want your partner to try the escape tactic." She goes to Cindy, offering to let the girl put her in the arm bar so she can show the students the escape method.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin has been in here for the entire time and he wasnt too happy to have his powers stripped, he felt slow. He looks to the woman as she demonstrates the arm bar escape and tries to do it with Megan.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn has her attention turned from Cindy to Kaydin, and nods. She lets Kaydin do the arm bar, giving him all the time he needs, after having let Cindy do the same. "I do have my own escape technique, but it's slightly unorthodox." she laughs. "It defeats the purpose of a depowered class, but technically i'm not a student..."

Deadzone has posed:
Again, Tatum walks among the students as they practice, looking over their technique and correcting where it is necessary. She hears Megan's comment and chuckles. "Just like you to find the loophole, Pix," she says with a warmth and familiarity that makes absolutely no sense. Pixie wasn't in any of Tatum's classes when she was a student here. Is she this familiar with all the ex-students?

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin is probably corrected and he performs the corrected escape. "So whats the loophole you discovered?" Kaydin asks the woman as he watches her. He then turns to Tatum and looks to see what else he can learn.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks and looks to Tatum. Opening her mouth like she's going to defend her student days, back when the fae part of her was less promineint, particularly before the dagger was wrest from her soul. But she'll just snicker. "Whatever works." To Kaydin, she nods. "Put me in the lock." When he does so, she mutters "Sihal Novarum Chinoth," and she disappears right out of Kaydin's grip, where upon she taps him on the shoulder from behind.

Deadzone has posed:
Many of the students see that Megan still seems to have her powers. Not just the wings but the teleportation too. Some call foul. Tatum looks to the class, a look that tells them to all shut up. "First of all, she's not a student anymore. She's had her lessons in defense and combat. Second, her mutation is not based on the X-gene or Meta-gene. And last of all, sometimes, you'll be depowered by your opponents won't be. Life isn't fair, kids. Anyone that tries to tell you it is, is selling something you don't want to buy."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin nods as he watches the goings on and he tries to focus. Lightning begins to arc around him as he tries to regain control over his powers but in the end the lightning fades and he sighs. He then turns to Tatum and watches the woman. "So anything else to teach us, Ma'am?" He asks curiously.

Deadzone has posed:
"Oh, we've only just started," Ms. O'Neal tells him. She then turns to the class to teach the next step.
