Location: Gotham City
Synopsis: Capes meet in civvies... it's always funny.
Cast of Characters: Flash, Oracle

Flash has posed:
It is a dark night in Gotham like it usually is though as Barry finds himself walking in this particular dark alley he is glad he is not alone. Of course he could handle any threat if he had to, but here in Gotham it seemed all these people were on edge from crime, and all these alleys were way too dark for their own good. This time he had been called in as a favor to one of the guy who usually does this forensics on a crime sceen had some sort of family emergancy, and Barry was in Gotham already.

So there he squated infront of a dead body looking at it carefully next to him a very ordered crime kit as he looked over the scene before messing with anything. Around him were a couple of police officers to 'escort' him as he was to them a stranger in Gotham, and thier guest. Also there was someone taking photos to make sure everything was documented, and stored so when he did start it would all be stored which to most scenes might be more by the book then even Gotham PD was used to. Barry looked at the body, and the things around it fasinated though not by the cruelty.. There was a hint here of who did it, and why so he would find it, but first was the process of marking each unique thing here with little number markers.

Barry finally spoke up, "Alright guys.. I need your shoe size, and to see the bottom of 'em.." moving away from the body to check to photographer first. He got a few groans, but insisted.. "listen I am sorry, but you guys are new to me.. I just don't want to follow a clue, and it be off because someone walked over something they shouldn't.." His shoes had a plastic wrap around them as he had put them on before hand, and knew well what kind of marks they left.

Oracle has posed:
Usually Barbara would absolutely NOT be called to a crime scene. She's a consultant, and only for computer forensics. But in this case, when the name of the deceased hit her father's desk, he made a call. So now, there's a statuesque redhead wearing a pair of jeans, a black blazer over a white blouse, and running shoes coming through the police line at the far side of the scene. She looks rather grim and pauses to speak to the officers holding the line.
Before even approaching, she grabs a couple of booties and slips them onto her shoes. Then she makes her way to the body, stopping a good distance back. "Mr. Allen," she says. "I'm Barbara Gordon. Sorry to meet you in person under these conditions." She is studiously avoiding looking at the body. "I need to know if you've found a laptop on the site. He should have been carrying one."

Flash has posed:
Barry had cut off the person taking photos, and had their leg up looking at the bottom of it as she entered. He smiled and nodded not looking at her at first, as he seemed to be using some tweezers to pull something out of the bottom of the shoe. It was a small metal object that he brought back with him into the light with a slight "hummm.." dropping it into an evidence bag. After this he turned his attention... "Miss Gordon, I did not expect to run into you here.. Sorry for the rudeness, but I had to get that collected." turning he moves over to her. He seems to offer a hand, then realizes that would't be a good idea with his gloves, and all. "A labtop huh... well that would explain what I just found." he holds up a small bag. "You see these marks on the metal.. That is nickle oxide-hydroxide if my guess is correct. Usually used in NiCad batteries.. Though I wasn't sure why it would be here. A labtop would explain it." he turns and looks back at the scene.. "If I can find where he stepped on this I can prob find the Labtop, but it is most likely damaged if this is on the ground."

He looks at her feet, and sees the covers with a smile.. "I see you at least know one of the rules.. Please if want to follow me you might know better what to look for." he stops though before he leads her forward. "Three rules. Don't touch anything.. If you spot something say something I will collect it, Two, don't take anything.. This is actually a crime I am sure you know that, and rule three.. If your going to be sick leave the crime scene first." he looks at her seriously.. "I am taking a chance here because well... your a Gordon, and smart.. Please don't get me in trouble." he does smile as he says it, as he isn't upset at this, or think she would, but has to be clear in the door. He turns then stops, and looks back.. "And it is a pleasure to meet you too... though I expected you to be taller." and chuckles a bit moving back towards the scene.

Oracle has posed:
When he proffers the small bag with the sliver of metal, Barbara pays close attention. And then she's right on his heels as he moves... but it's the spiel that makes her grin. "No puking on the evidence. Got it," she teases lightly. "Taller?" she then asks. She's already at just over six feet in her sneakers. "I think if I were any taller, I'd have to play basketball," she observes mildly.
As they walk the crime scene, Barbara's demeanor is definitely professional. And she shows no likelihood of touching anything or being ill. She does, however, come around him and pull out a high-intensity penlight to peer under dumpsters and around things. The techs can climb through the trash, but she's looking for something very specific. "If the man's who his ID indicates, he's a forensic accountant that I've been consulting with on a RICO case," she tells Barry seriously. "If the laptop is gone, the case might be up in smoke too."

Flash has posed:
Barry chuckles, and nods.. "For a moment there I thought it was you who was trouncing around Gotham in a Bat-suit... They say it is Batman, but wouldn't that fool them all if Batman wasn't a man." he eyes her with a grin. Of course he knew that wasn't true, he knew who Batman was, but honestly she had the build for it. Maybe he should mention it to Bruce, though he quickly shakes off that idea.. No-one told Bruce anything, he knew that even more though he did chuckle at her comment dismissing that line of thought all together.

He walks carefully looking at the ground with a paracticed eye, moving to the wall putting a marker there, and a few places where there were some fading footprints. "It looks like this alley sees a lot of traffic there is going to be quite a bit of evidence to go through." he mentions as he puts down more markers. He looked at the trash bin, and sighed.. He was prob going to be the one jumping in there sooner or later, but for now he was doing the outside.

As he moves away a bit he seems to think for a moment.. "Maybe.. But the question is did they know that." He pulls out a special light from his pack and flicks it on his hand to check. The spectrium of light is different from normal, as he moves to the body. "It is always sad to see someone who turned around to help like this, but... this is what we do." he added in a light voice. He crouches over the body, and flicks the light on him.

Of course the blood seems to light up, but from it also there is a small path that moves away, and of course right to the dumbster. Barry sighs, "Why do they always have to throw things into the dumbster." cause now he knew he had to go in there. He moves back that way, "The liquid that labtops use show because of the checmicals in them.. Most people don't realize how hazardus a labtop can be if broken." he moves towards the dumpster he flashes the light on it looking for more of the chemicals. "I mean they are better then the old monitors of course, but still.. Get enough of that stuff on ya and your going to have a rash, or burns.. Not to mention the power discharge." What he is doing seems to be getting ready to take prints before he touches the dumbster itself, but that is a process. "Keep looking though... It might be an old trail it could be anywhere around here."

Oracle has posed:
Why do they always throw it in the dumpster? Barbara smirks faintly. "I swear to God, they throw it in there *just* to make sure you have to go dumpster diving," she tells him. "Gotham thugs suck." She completely ignores the line of casual chatter that comments on how SHE might be the Bat, but she does mention, "Nah... it's definitely a guy. Dad talks to him."
When he's following the leakage straight to the dumpster, she ponders. "It's possible that it was just a robbery," she admits. "This guy's not a Gotham local -- he came in from DC yesterday. Certainly plausible that he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time."
Pulling in a deep breath, Barbara blows it out slowly and then says, "*I'm* not paid enough to go in there. So it's all on you, forensics man. I'm a computer tech." She grins at him a bit -- ha, ha, you have to dive it.

Flash has posed:
As he takes prints off the dumbster he nods to her, "He actually talks to your father... That has to be so wierd talking to some guy dressed up like a bat." he shakes his head, "I mean one might give a slight chuckle wouldn't they?" and he continues his work. There are tons of prints, and maybe he is stalling a little bit, but he tells himself he is just being meticulous. Once done he has the guy take some photos, and then pops the top.. of course it is full, and that gets another sigh. "I think they think we won't go in there.. like it is some forbidden zone." he lifts a bag out carefully setting it to a cleared area to the side flashing light on it before he gets the next one. "Sure.. I will take about ten showers after this, but... just part of the job."

As he continues to dig it out he continues talking with her, "So whats a lady like you doing here.. I mean sure I get this is your reco thing, but I mean that usually the computer tech people wait till I find something before coming down to look at it. I don't mean to pry.. well okay a little, but it takes my mind off this task.." and he chuckles a bit giving her a grin again. "So why are you here tonight right after the scene was called in? Or is it something you just usually do here in Gotham?" Finally getting it to the point where he has taken out most of the big stuff he shines his light in here.. He is looking for needles, or other sharp objects.. One does not just jump into something like this without looking that is how one gets hurt. "Besides... for our playing... I know you are a patient person. At least when you think you have the win." and gives her a bit of a wink on that one.

Oracle has posed:
Barbara shudders. "There's a reason I did *not* want to be a forensics tech. Eeew!" Not that Barbara hasn't dealt with far worse, but not in civvies, for certain. She's still making a point of not looking at the body. "Normally I would have waited, but I was alarmed at the possibility that they took the only solid evidence we have in the case. Personally, I figure if it was the guys we're after, we just flat never would have found him, so I think you're right in that it's probably a robbery." She's lived in Gotham most of her life -- there's a LOT of crime. Especially in some areas. "But I live just down from here, so it was an easy jaunt to see if I could get my hands on it earlier than usual."
Offering a faint smile, Barbara adds, "Hey now! I can be patient even when I'm losing! I'm kind of stunned that such a meticulous guy *isn't* more patient." Because his work ethic here is very obvious. Although, knowing that he's a speedster, it makes more sense. But the wicked imp on her shoulder makes her comment on it just to see what excuse he'll make.

Flash has posed:
Right before he hops in he looks right at her and shurts, "It's a living" as he had watched way too much flinstones as a kid. He then hops into the trash bin he moves carefully pulling out a few more thing putting them to the side outside, talking as he works, "Maybe I am and it is just a ruse to lure you into a false sense of security." and gives a bit of a chuckle which inside echos a bit. "Though living around here, I bet your Dad loves that... I mean Gotham is one thing, but there are safer places. At least tell me the rent is cheap?" then stops talking.. "Wait... We got something.." there is a silence then a "Yeow!" as he practicly jumps out of the trash bin trying to move away as a wild cat jumps out... His voice comes back out.. "Can we pretend that didn't just happen." he asks as he climbs back out with a flat metal looking item in his hand. It would be reconizable to Barbara of course though the end of it would have a hole in it.

He doesn't hand it to her though, "I need to check it for prints, and I think this hole might give me the caliber of weapon.. I want to say 45, but I have a tool in my kit that will tell me for sure." he holds it up, and looks at it.. "Though it doesn't make sense." he adds climbing back out.. "If your bad guys did this, why did they just toss it.. I mean you would think they would take it." though he shakes his head at that.

Oracle has posed:
"The rent is not cheap, but... I like Gotham. Being close to Dad is a side bo--" As the cat comes hurtling out of the dumpster, Barbara jumps back just a bit. "Holy crap!" The redhead scowls at having sounded like a girl about something like that. "I won't tell if you won't," she replies with a small grin. "Jesus, that startled me."

Once he's out of the dumpster, she's elated to see the computer he's carrying. Pursing her lips as he says she can't have it, though, Barbara offers, "You could put it in an evidence bag and print it at the station. I want to see if we can extract the hard drive; it's the only piece I need." She gives him a hopeful look. "I promise to go straight there, and your chain of evidence won't be compromised. I'll sign for it and everything."

Flash has posed:
Barry is doing just that as she suggests it though she does get a large grin at her joke. Though he holds the bag in his hands, he seems to consider it then shakes his head. "If you take it one of the police officers need to go with you I can't send it alone. I am sorry, I would, but whoever did this can't get away with it." he gives her a smile with a shrug. "I would tell my own mother that... well if she were still alive." he frowns a bit at that, but throws it out of his mind. That was a long time ago, and well delt with not to mention the important lesson about changing time.

He waves over an officer, "Listen.. Still take it right to the lab get it checked for prints the person that shot him might of touched it." he glances around.. "This doesn't look like a professional hit, so maybe the made a mistake. I need to keep looking around here see if they left anything else." He looks up, "How bout after you find what your looking for you give me a call I am going to be in Gotham for a bit... And well you are only the second person I know."

Oracle has posed:
Barbara gestures at the same time he does for the same officer, and she grins at him. "I'm more than happy to take an escort with me. Not a problem at all. I'm thinking that they weren't after the laptop -- it was just in the way. But we'll see." The redhead tilts her head and says, "I can do that, sure thing." There's a pause, though, and she smiles. "I really appreciate this, Barry. Tell you what... let me buy you dinner tomorrow? As a thank you."

Flash has posed:
Barry chuckles, and nods. "Oh that would be great.. I wonder what kind of things Gotham holds, and I have to try to get an appoitment with this rich guy that is never around." he shakes his head. "I guess I was voted to try to talk to Bruce Wayne if you can believe it. I guess he is some big wig round these parts, but I think I am cursed as he is so hard to get in a room." he hands her the laptop with a shrug. "I heard he had a place around here somewhere maybe if I just show up at his front door." and laughs at the idea. "Prob will have some thugs throw me out"

He turns to get back to work, and stops. "Hey thanks for being so friendly I know I might be... stepping into your turf, but I am just here to help. I want to make sure ya know that.. no contest of liquid throwing here." and laughs with a small wave before turning back to the work at hand. "Alright guys, lets get to work... I want all the tags photoed, and every inch checked with nothing touched.." though he seems to be talking to the cop that is left over, and the photo guy which kinda just give him a look with a shrug getting to work with him.

Oracle has posed:
Barbara blinks at him and looks curious. "Uhm.... do you mind if I ask why you need to see him?" Because Bruce, of course, is a big deal in Gotham. She sounds just casually curious about it, but her green eyes on her are sharp as she takes the laptop from him in her gloved hand so that it can be put into an evidence bag for its trip to the station. "I mean... it's not my business, of course. But if you can't through his official channels, I can make a call." The offer seems sincere, and she pauses to wait for his answer while he gives instructions to the other officers remaining.

Flash has posed:
Barry stops, and turns to look at her actally a bit confused that she would even be able to do something like that. "Oh um.. Well the Mayor of Central City wanted to put up a new school or something, I mean it is for a good reasonto help kids learn science so I was kinda forced to agree, but I don't really understand it honestly." he gives a small shrug, "I mean how am I just a pion supposed to get in with the rich folk?" he chuckles, and shakes his head. "I think it is because I can talk science I am supposed to wow him with the things the school would teach, and since I am just some blue collar me asking for money doesn't seem to be 'offical' if I am turned down.

He just chuckles, and turns his 'ideas' on why being a bit more detailed on someone who just doesn't know what is going on, but it was't his thing to get involved in politics. He also couldn't talk to Bats about it because this was an 'official' question to Bart not flash. "I am going to give it a few more chances officially, and if nothing I will have to use my head to get inventive." and gives her a wink pointing to his head. She would know when he starts doing that in chess things go wierd, but it wasn't always a loss. "If it wasn't for the kids I would just dismiss it, but I am just a big softie."

Oracle has posed:
Her expression is amused as he talks. Barbara says mildly, "Well, if you can e-mail me the information with a bit more detail than that, I'll put it in front of his nose and get you in to see him." Handing the computer to the officer standing next to her so he can bag it, she looks back at Barry and shrugs a little. "My father's the Police Commissioner. We've known Bruce a long time. Since you need an answer quickly and it's for a good cause, I'm willing to use the back channels for it if you like."

There is no arrogance to her offer, no sense that she thinks her relationship with Bruce Wayne is all that and a bag of chips. It just comes across as if it really is that simple for her to pick up the phone or walk into the man's office and stick something in front of his nose. "That being said, I think most of those kinds of requests go through Lucius Fox at the Wayne Foundation. But I'm not sure. I'll make sure it gets to the right people, though."

Flash has posed:
Barry nods to her, "Wow thanks! That is some pretty big pull you have there Miss. Gordon remind me never to get on your bad-side." and laughs a bit with a smile. "I will have that E-mail sent when I get home, and to be honest I have no idea who this Lucius is I didn't really look into the Wayne Foundation, but I never been good at this political stuff." He shrugs a bit, "I am sure it will work out now that I talked to the real person in charge of Gotham City." and gives her a grin meaning her.

"Now if you will excuse me M'am I need to get back to work." and even gives her a small salute, though with his big grin it is obviously a joke... "Maybe I should of let ya win more in our chess games.." he says as he heads back to working on the crime scene. Of course when she won he didn't let her win that would of took the fun out of it for both of them, but she didn't need to know that.

Oracle has posed:
Barbara just laughs and turns away to head for the police station with the officer who has the computer, shaking her head. Letting her win indeed.
