Cast of Characters: Silk, Captain Marvel (Danvers)

Silk has posed:
Another day in New York City! Another battle amid the buildings and bridges connecting one borough to another. On top of the Queensboro Bridge a battle rages on between two individuals.

"What is this, a baby spider-girl?" A man shouts, dressed in a greenish suit with bird-like wings. The man is elderly, but moves with deadly alacrity as he dives and attacks towards a young woman dressed in spider-silk clothing.

"Hey, Bird-Brain!" Silk calls out, "You're scaring the kids and blinding the drivers!" the young woman states, as she flits between the hard-iron braces of the bridge with her own stunning grace and agility. Silk-strands are flicked from her finger-tips as she swings and goes in for an attach, the pair locked together a moment in mid air- a struggle of strength versus speed!

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel happens to be flying high above the scene, drawn by reports of the altercation, but when she spots a young hero already engaging the villain at hand, she remains an observer. Not one to waltz in and steal all the limelight, she wants to see what this young hero can do on her own. At least so long as it's not apparent that she needs her help.

Silk has posed:
The pair are driven apart almost as quickly as they had become entangled- the strong winged man throwing Silk into the air. The Vulture's wings spreading as he dives low and begins to circle, "You're not as quick of wit as that other annoying Web-slinger."

Silk's webbing attaches to the edge of the bridge as she's flung through the air. She begins a long descent down, holding the webline as she swings under the bridge before coming up on the other side to flip in the air and return her gaze on the flying man. She sends out some quick flicks of webbing, and the man gives a cry of pain! "Ah!"

Silk tugs- still midair- bringing the pair closer before her feet find purchase on the bridge's road supports and pulling hard again and bringing the flying man into an orbit where he'd likely crash into the support beams of the bridge.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel starts a slow descent, eyes set on the Vulture and Silk, there's certainly bravery involved. Considering the Vulture often likes taking on Spider-Man, the younger girl is doing a fairly good job here. If it wasn't for the webbing resiude, it could even be considered clean. The bridge has been quite reinforced since the advent of superhero fights, it should take the force of Vulture slamming against it.

Still, if Vulture is even slightly distracted by Captain Marvel's arrival, it will lead to a quicker end to this encounter. She stays quiet though, as to not distract Silk herself.

Silk has posed:
Silk pulls hard- she's not as strong as Spider-Man, but Captain Marvel's appearance has not gone un-noticed by most. Not Silk, of course, she's completely focused on her dance partner- but even Vulture sees her flying up there as he's pulled hard into the bridge's iron support. THUD!

Silk Leaps like a hunting spider, and quickly weaves a web around the villain, before looking up to notice Captain marvel. She waves her hand. "Hi!" she chirps in a friendly tone before she's flitting off to a nearby tall building to take a break.

Cindy is quick, but she's no flyer. She lands on top of a tallish building and just leans against the edge with a WOOSH of air, trying to catch her breath. "Woah. Take it easy now. Its okay."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel returns a formal salute at Silk's greeting, smiling at her at how expertly she stuck Vulture to that bridge. A mistake often made against the spider folks, giving them a venue to entrap oneself. She follows Cindy as she heads for a break on a building top, hovering at her side, "that was impressive. Related to Spider-Man? Or you doing your own thing?"

She chuckles at the post engagement heaving as Cindy needs a moment to catch her breath, and lands next to her, "take your time on that...slow down your breathing."

Silk has posed:
Silk looks up as Captain Marvel lands, "Oh. Its just all this.. open space." she says, waving around herself. "A lot of fresh air. Still not used to it." she mentions, before looking up again towards Captain Marvel. "Yeah, I just need a big breath. Another big breath. Thaaat's it." Talking to herself, now.

"Oh? Spider-Man? Related and not related. Its a complicated thing." she offers, "Personally, I think he's a bit of an idiot." she whispers, "He just does stuff, without any knowledge of what he's doing. No forethought at all." Silk sighs quietly, shaking her head.

"Oh, I'm Silk, by the way! Super spiffed to meet you! You're like a real hero!" Silk says with a grin- it can't be seen, but the smile can be heard in her voice.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Open space is good, he certainly made mistakes facing you, probably disrespected you for your age," Captain Marvel guesstimates, she does like to play observer now and then. Allows her to assess the skills of both heroes and villains, measuring their respective tactics and how they affect the flow of combat. Can't help it after being CoC.

"Is it now...? Dare I ask? Or is it best left private...?" Carol is respectful of privacy after all, she's not going to demand information Silk isn't willing to share, not when there's no need for it.

"Oh, after the display I just saw, I'd say you can call yourself a real hero, Silk." She doesn't introduce herself as it seems Silk actually recognizes her. It's still new to her when people recognize her, she never got nearly that level of recognition as Ms. Marvel. But then those early days are probably what Silk is going through right now. "Did you pick up your skills on your own, or do you have someone to push you?"

Silk has posed:
"Well, I mean, someone taught me when they first started showing up. That was a while ago, but, I've just been." Silk pauses a scant moment. She's a terrible liar- she's never been able to do that well- how does one explain they've been locked away in a bunker for nearly a decade? In this case, in this moment, one doesn't. "Away. Really far away. And, um, keeping my head low. So, I'm sort of out of practice but, you know, its like riding a bike!"

Silk shakes her head, "Naw, I'm not a real hero- just a girl who's got some good stuff going on, and doesn't like to watch bad people do stuff to good people and since I've got this whole spider thing going on, you know. Just doing the right thing..."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel has this uncanny ability to just know when someone is intentionally misleading her, it's not so much a power, as it is a hunch. Okay, maybe there's a level of Kree intuition involved, but she wouldn't quite be aware of it. Either way, she just stands there, arms crossed, staring at Silk rather blankly as she tells her a story. She doesn't say anything, leaving Silk to decide whether she's staying with that version or trying another one.

After a moment of silence to allow Silk a chance to revise, Carol remarks, "just a girl with some good stuff going on wouldn't have managed to fool the Vulture, he's not as stupid as he looks. Granted, he looks quite stupid, but I digress."

Silk has posed:
"Oh. That bit came naturally." Silk says, that much is true. "I just. Um.. Well, things aren't *that* good?" she asks/states next, eyes wide as she looks up at the very much so taller Captain Marvel. "Um.." she's really unsure what to say as that look seems to cause the young woman a little bit of uncertainty.

Up close, its not hard to see that Silk is an adult- although she does have that apparently amazing Asian Anti-Aging gene going on, so it is difficult to truly say how old she is. And her skin is so nice! Almost like she hasn't seen a day of sunlight for years.

So. Um. Yeah, that was really a lot of fun, right?" Silk tries to change the subject.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Marvel continues to look at Silk, perhaps intentionally making her a little uncomfortable, before easing her crossed hands down to her sides, "so maybe you are naturally gifted. Whatever the case, it was fun, and I enjoyed watching you perform, Silk...would you consider becoming an Avenger down the line?" Just a question, not so much an open invitation, but apparently the Avengers do like to keep track of potential recruits.

Silk has posed:
"An Avenger? Well. I don't know, maybe?" Silk replies, "I don't really know all that much about the Avengers." she admits- "I'm not exactly your girl for up-to-date knowledge of current events." she admits, "Like I said, I've been away! Out of town. Way out of town."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Way out of town...?" Carol looks a bit skeptical as she asks haphazardly, "as in 'space' out of town? Or a foreign country 'out of town'?" She gets a sense that Silk isn't being truthful, just not to what level.

Silk has posed:
"Err. Well." Silk pauses, eyes wide. Caught in the lie. She's unsure of what to do! She swallows. "Well, um.." she stammers, "Like.. well... way out of town like.. um.. " she shrugs a little, "Think..like, well.." she takes a slow breath- heroes were people who helped, right? Surely it was okay to tell someone like Captain Marvel! "Like a hidden bunker under the city out of town? For..like eight and a half years?"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel was assuming different possibility, but what Silk actually reveals was never an option she took to account. There's a momentary look of surprise across her visage, before she walks up to Silk and reaches to embrace her rather powerfully. Intending to hold her for a moment, if Silk isn't fast enough to choose to escape first, and leaning towards her ear as she whispers, "Silk, I would like to invite you to Avengers Towers, I want to speak with you...if you will grant me the opportunity. I'm -very- impressed with you." That's all, nothing more, nothing less, just a show of support that may not be necessarily welcomed, and a request for a private meeting down the line.

Silk has posed:
Silk gives a squeak! Silk-Sense only really warns her for danger. As it turns out, a strong hug from a Captain Marvel. "I.. Um.." she swallows. "Okay, sure. I'll come by, we'll keep it easy. Heroine to Heroine! YEah, it'll be great." she says, with a swallow. "We can talk, it'll be great!" she offers as she extracts herself from the tight hug.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol does eventually lets Silk escape from her tight embrace, and offers her another salute, "I'll hold you to it, so you better show up...keep on fighting the good fight!" With that she takes to the air, proceeding to her next destination.

Silk has posed:
"Okay." Cindy offers, as she watches Carol go to fly off, taking a moment before she's off on her own- swinging through the city.
