Vision has posed:
A quiet evening at Avengers Mansion. What else can one ask for? Now fully back on the roster the teams sole Synthazoid is slowly fitting himself back into the group and tonight one can find him sitting quietly at one of the low-bqacked recliners, dressed casually, leaning foreward over a small coffee table on which sits an antique chess set. His red fingers are steepled before him and he stares at the bopard, seemingly deep in thought, but what passes for deep thoughts in a cybernetic organism?

In this case he is also monitoring the Avengers threat computer, abliet remotely, as well as reading a treatise on hyperspatial physics, watching the newest season Mr. Robot, and learning Taiwanese cooking online.. 1930's Dixieland Jazz wafts through the room from hidden speakers.

Radiance has posed:
Hermione is exhausted. Captain Rogers was right. Hermione does think unfavourable things about him at the end of his coaching sessions. Perhaps not cursing his name, but definitely wishing him oodles of bad luck. Even after a shower, Hermione is still sore all over. How is that even possible? She can be shot at with bullets and barely feel them, but two hours in the gym with Steve has her feeling every muscle in her body as if it's screaming for rest.

The ex-cheerleader, now receptionist for Stark Industries, gathers her things and gets ready to fly home, but she can't help but want to explore a little. It's the Avenger's mansion, after all! Her heroes live here, eat here, sleep here. The fangirl in her explores just a little, stopping when she sees *him*! She bites her lip, not wanting to get too excited, but unable to stop herself. Hermione clears her throat to alert Vision of her presence, shaking with excitement and wishing she had her Avengers poster here to get another signature.

Vision has posed:
The young woman needn't have warned Vision of her presence. After all he was monitoring every camera in the mansion, more or less. Nothing creepy about that, right? He didn't monitor any of the private designated areas, such as bathrooms or quarters, after all. Her entire time in the mansion this day, while he was here, is layed out before him in his 'mind'. As well as research and analysis, such as facial recognition of who she is, her profile on both the avengers datagfiles AND stark industries employment records, her social media links, her FICO credit rating, her SCHOOL records.. all of it is taken into consideration well before the moment she clears her throat.

HE reaches over the board and moves a Pawn to head off a Knight of the non-existant other player, never once looking away from the board. "Good evening, Hermione Langdon." he intone solemnly, though he hasn't looked at her nor have they even met as of yet. "I hope your training session with Captain Rogers was informative."

Yeah... not creepy at all.

Radiance has posed:
Hermione pauses when hears Vision's voice. It's familiar. Really familiar. But, she's never met him. She looks a little confused. But then, she often is when dealing with anything that Tony has any sort of influence in. "Hello, Mr. Vision, Sir. I hope I'm not interupting." She eyes are as bright as her large warm smile.

When asked about her training, she heaves a sigh. "Informative is a very good word for it. I was starting to forget what pain felt like. I haven't hurt this bad since training for Nationals." She must mean when her highschool was the Nebraska State cheer team champions. They came in second place to Iowa that year in Nationals.

Vision has posed:
Vision nods solemnly, slowly standing and walking around the table to the opposite side, where he sits and again regards the board; This time from the opposing angle. A subset of his mind, sandboxed, has devoted cycles to being the opposition of himself without actually KNOWING what his primary self is doing. "No, you are not interupting me Ms. Langdon." he replies in that harmonious monotone of his as he contenplates his defense against his offense.

"Captain Rogers would probably be gratified to hear that." he finally says as he moves the bishop to block the pawn he moved moments ago. "He equates effort with learning.. and pain is a signifier of effort." he finally looks up from the board, leaning back to once against steeple his fingers as he regards her with his solid golden eyes. "If your teammates of the time had practiced as much as you had and not fumbled on the second anterior jumpflip, It is likely you and they would have won the championship."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione's jaw drops as he talks about the performance at Nationals. She then grins widely, having decided that Vision is clearly both very smart and a very good person, just because of his apparent liking of cheer, as well as his agreement with her. "Between that and Iowa using a cannon in their routine, I'm just glad we came in second." She looks down at the chess board, looking lost at the pieces. They make no sense to her. Just little horsies and castles and other funny shapes. "Mr. Vision, Sir? How is it that you and Jarvis have the same voice? If you don't mind my asking, that is. You can just tell me that it's none of my business if you don't want to tell me."

Vision has posed:
Vision raises a hairless brow at that question, then lowers his hands to his lap. "I do not mind your asking." he tells her. "But I alaso do not have a good answer for you. While there are definately simularities between my voice and that of JARVIS, we are not related beyond the fact that we are fellow artifical intelligences. Perhaps it was an.. unconcious chice, on my part. I remember my voice, my original voice; The voice my father gave me. It was a terrible, unearthly thing. There is a possibility that when I first interacted with The Avengers computer, trying to ypass their security so I could destroy them at my Father's wishes, I found Jarvis's voice to be.. pleasant. Unlike Ultrons. So perhaps I adopted it for that reason."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione listens and nods, smiling to him. "Well, I like it. And you're right, it is pleasant." She gets out her phone, one of Stark's. "Mr. Stark let me have access to him. I'm one of the few people that gets the app." She smiles and her shoulders lift with excitement. "I still can't believe I'm getting to meet all of you and learn from you. I just hope some day that I can help you as much as you all have helped me."

The young woman points to the board. "So, how do you play that game anyway? Isn't it kind of ... boring? THe only people that played it at home were the brainiacs, so I guess you have to be kind of smart to play, huh?" Even as she tries to make conversation, she is looking Vision over, taking a mental picture of him to remember forever. 'The Day I Met Vision'

Vision has posed:
Vision stands again and takes the originals seat he was in, once more regarding the game layed out before him. "The best way you can help anyone, Ms langdon, is by learning.. and helping yourself as much as others." he informs her. "Do not be selfish, but at the same time do not be too selfless as well. Our occupation, as superheroes, as avengers, is a perilous one. many of those in our profession become scarred, or cynical. It is a hazard of the job, of the risks and burdens we take. Do not jump into this life thinking it is a grand adventure, lest you dissapoint yourself at some point."

He looks up at her. "I am not trying to disbuse you of the notion of being a hero, Ms. Langdon, just warning you of the inherrent difficulties. Heroes do not always win. Heroes don't always save everyone. You have to be prepared to lose, sometimes." and with that he moves a pawn.. and checkmates hismelf.

"And unlike this game, which i assure you does not requires as much skill and mathematics as it does strategy, there are few do overs."

Radiance has posed:
The young woman nods her head. "It's funny, Captain Rogers said a lot of the same things. I told him about how my grandfather served under him at his last battle. Grandad used to tell me all about the Captain's sacrifice all the time. Every Veteran's Day. He's going to be here tomorrow. I'm going to be wheeling Grandad in the parade. He's coming just to see Captain Rogers. I just always wanted to be like him. I never dreamed he'd be training me to fight. And Mr. Stark training me to fly. I can actually hover now at higher ... altitudes? Higher in the sky."

She wraps her arms around herself, the weight of the words though causing her to think hard about her gifts and what she can do with them. "I just... I was given these powers for a reason. I feel like I am sort of obligued to use them to help people. Does that make sense?"

Vision has posed:
Vision frowns a little as he sits back again. "I would ghate to disagree with anyone, especially someone I just met personally but..." he thinks for a moment.. "Uless you believe in a superior all powerful being then no.. you were not given your abilities for a reason. At least one not decreed by any force one would call fate. /I/ was created, and given my abilities, for a purpose. For you, though, it was more or less a random quirk of the universe."

"Not that it makes you any less of a person, or a potential hero. It isn't what fate decrees, or what random chance goves that, matters. It's what /you/ choose to do with what you have been given. be it random or for some purpose."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione looks to Vision, chewing on the inside of her cheek. Why is this conversation constantly happening? "Well... I kinda do. I was raised to believe in God. I know he's not to popular here in New York, it seems like the church I go to always has room in the pews, but, yes, I belive in a superior, all powerful being." She hugs herself tighter, having a harder time staying faithful when it is come into question almost daily.

"I know that other God's exist. I've been warned by Balder that if I spend too much time with him I might end up going to Valhalla instead of Heaven when I die, but I believe that I was given these powers and I chose to use them for the greater good of all."

Vision has posed:
Vision furrows those brows of his slightly. "While beings such as Baldur or Thor call themselvs gods, they are not truly superior beings. They are /advanced/ beings no matter how they present themselves. They can bleed. They can be killed, ableit it is extremely difficult. They are not /God/, if such an entity exists. Being different, being more powerful, does not make a being a true God."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione moves to sit down then as the conversation grows more serious. "It's true, that with people like Thor and Balder walking around, we have had to re-evalue our thoughts on what God is, but who is to say that He isn't just a being, like them but even more powerful, who has taken it upon himself to guide us and lead us. Like children."

Vision has posed:
Vision is silent a moment, before he actually shrugs. "WHo is to say he /is/ a being like them or us?" he asks us. "If such a being wer eto exist, to encompass the entirety of the cosmos for which we are but a tiny speck, he or she or they would have to be so much more than a simple life form. Does Thor embody the entirety of lightening? No he does not. A being or concept that represented all of infinity could, by it's very defintion, not be contained in anything so mundane as to be finite."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione nods, smiling. "Amazing, isn't it? Something so vast and beyond our comprehension. How can we not look to it with awe and reverence. And it has chosen to help us, guide us." She grows thoughtful then, the dark seed of faith having been suggested to her before. "Or possibly just ignoring us as we ignore dust mites. But, I like to believe that there is something out there more then just us and that it wants to help."

Vision has posed:
Vision owers his hands again to the armrests. "Well of course there is more than just us 'out there'. We have phsyical evidence of alien species, of extradimensional enities with vast near-omnipotent abilities. But that is /near/ omnipotent and in an infinte universe 'near' is nowhere near to close, to badly paraphrase Douglas Adams. As to whether a truly omnipotent, omniscient entity or entities exist.. If they truly cared, there would be no death nor suffereing. And there are plenty of both."

Radiance has posed:
She's heard that last arguement before. It's hard to stay strong in one's belief when presented with arguements like this one. "They say that God works in mysterious ways. If we suffer from death and sickness and crime, I have to believe that there is a reason. I may not be able to understand it but... " She points to the chess board. "I was told once that the game represents a war. Do the pawns understand the things the king asks them to do? Or that the player makes them do?"

Vision has posed:
Vision looks at the board a moment. "In this case, they do not understand.. because they are peices of plastic with no intelligence or sapience. But in real war there are variables, including human concience and fear. So the comparison is not an apt one." he tells her. "To say god works in mysterious ways is one thing.. it strips any responsibility of learning what those ways are from the believers. But even today, right now, millions of children die of hunger and sickness and war.. How does one recitfy that with god's mysterious way? It just absolves someone from bearing any resposibility for trying to make it better."

Radiance has posed:
"But that's just it. We are responsible to try and make it better. To help our own kind. To be better as a whole. Only, most people are too selfish to do that. They only want what is best for them." It is the usual arguements that the faithful make to try and maintain their beliefs in the overwhelming proof that they could be wrong. Hermione rises from her seat and picks up her gym bag. "I ... I should go. I have to fly to Clinton and it's getting rather dark. I'll be a beacon at this rate," she says, referring the soft glow that surrounds her.

Vision has posed:
Vision isn't faithful nor a disbeliever. he is just himself. So he nods as she stands and he stands as well. "Yes, it is getting dark. Please fly carefully." he says pleasantly. "It was a stimulating conversation, Ms. Langdon. Have a pleasant night."
