Cast of Characters: Darkness, Samantha Nishimura

Darkness has posed:
It's a Thursday Night, Ladies Night, at Club Lux which is one of Jackie's favorite places to visit... especially on Ladies Night. Jackie is in one of his tailored white suits, and he is near the bar instead of one of his private booths. Nights like tonight he likes to walk around, and meet anyone he comes across. He sends someone a quick text with a selfie attached, and then put's his phone away. The crowd isn't too rowdy, but there are the guys who have had too much to drink, and a little too forward with the women. Jackie lets out a long sigh, looks to a bouncer, and nods his head to a group of college boys that are too frisky. The bouncer gives Jackie a thumbs up, moves in, and escorts the boys out with the help of three of his friends. "Gotta love the college kids."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
Samantha's only back for a few days, before it's back to the jungles, and mosquitoes, and sweat, and rain, and sand in her everything, and --why is it she's going back again? She shakes her head as she coddles a mouthful of bourbon, watching the bouncers escort some guys out. "Aww, that one was CUTE..." Guess she won't be meetin' that one tonight. Probably for the best, if he's the type that gets bounced. Ah well...on to the next...

Darkness has posed:
Jackie over hears Sam's comment, looks over in her direction, and raises an eyebrow at her choice of drink. "You're better off without that type of guy..." Jackie says to her past a few scantily clad women, and a few guys with shirts two sizes two small. "They're the type of guys that don't take No for an answer..." as the bouncers walk back, one gives Jackie a pat on the shoulder, "Got'em for ya Jackie..." and they walk back around the club. His eyes turning back to Sam, he raises what looks like a glass of Milk, "Better hunting next time." His ice blue eyes linger on her for a minute, not his normal type, but the same could be said for his favorite lady as well.... interesting...

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
Sam smiles warmly at Jackie. "Well, then I suppose I should thank you for sparing me having to embarrass the poor guy by teaching him what "no" means. Could I buy you a drink?" Only then does she look at what Jackie's drinking, and it's her turn to arch a brow at his choice of drink. "I've heard it does a body good..."

Darkness has posed:
Jackie finishes off his milk with a wink in Sam's direction, "and I'm sure..." the honesty is present in his voice "...that you are more than capable of dealing with an oaf like that." His eyes move over her frame, not soft like most of the others here, "But let me say that I take a personal stake in making sure idiots like that don't even get the chance. I believe women should be treated like Ladies." He slides the glass back to the bartender, "Absolutely. Milk, please..." and he nods his head once, "...and I think most would agree that it does, in fact, do my body good."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
Sam can't help blushing a little at that last statement. "Well yeah, it seems--" She clears her throat and takes another sip from the squat glass of amber liquid. "So, what are you, hired muscle? The big cheese? Taking on the dregs of society on behalf of women everywhere?" It would explain why he isn't drinking, at least. "I'm sure they appeciate your eye for detail..."

Darkness has posed:
"Me?" Jackie responds, a smile on his features, and a twinkle in his eye "Well, let's say I work for the guy that owns the place. Not quite a bouncer, but something like that." His smile is genuine, and he seems to have fun with the word games. Nodding to the bouncers, he says "I've helped them out a time or two, and made sure they walked away without going to the hospital." He shrugs as the bartender brings over another milk, "Sometimes it's about helping people out more than anything else." He turns to focus on her solely, and asks, "So, what's got you in a place like this? You're not the normal crowd... and I have to say... I like that fact."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
With half a smile and a roll of her eyes, Samantha laughs. "No, thank GOD I'm not part of the normal crowd." She shakes her head, looking around at the 'normal crowd' for a moment. "No, I'm just back here for a few days and looking to shake the jungle off me a bit. I've been on an archaeological dig in South America for the past two months, and I got a few days' reprieve. Had to come back here and talk to a cartologist about a map we've been going off of, which my partner seems to think may be somewhat inaccurate." She grins and sets down her drink. "God I sound boring."

Darkness has posed:
Reaching over to grab his milk, Jackie watches Sam and listens intently as all the dancing and music happens around them. He take a quick drink, placing the glass down, "Jungle? Archaeological? South America?" Jackie seems genuinely interested at this revelation. He pulls a stool up to sit close to her, asking, "So, these digs you go on, I'm sure you find interesting things. Things that people haven't heard or seen for hundreds or thousands of years, right?" Sam can tell that he is not just entertaining her, "Have you ever heard, or run into a legend or story about something called The Darkness?" His knee bumps into her own, and he leans in closer so that he can hear her better... maybe...

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
"Oh sure, I've heard of it. Mention it to anyone down there, and all you'll get is 'Madre de Dios' and a good view of their backside as they high-tail it for somewhere else. Anywhere else. Nobody down there wants to talk about that kind of thing. Something about the idea that even talking about it will somehow attract it. Not so sure about that sorta stuff myself. I've seen a bunch of really crazy stuff, but the worst of it is stuff you never saw comin', and certainly weren't talking about." Samantha seems a little lost in thought over the matter for a moment. "Why, is it something you're interested in?"

Darkness has posed:
Now that definitely gets Jackie's attention, and he reaches his hand out to Sam "Look, it's loud here..." he nods to the private booths in back, "...if you don't mind, I've got a booth back there. We can talk, and I'll take care of your drinks." He pauses, and adds "I've run into some weirdos that talked about it, and I"ve been trying to dig up information about it ever since..." He grins, giving her a smile that a Superstar would be jealous of, "...call it a professional interest when people are yelling at me, carrying knives, and other madness."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
"Oh, uh..Sure!" She's not the kind of girl to get invited back to a private booth with a guy like this. Ohhhhhh wait. She's getting invited back to talk about ancient archaeology. Right, yeah she's the type of girl who gets invited back to a booth by a guy who looks like this, to talk about archaeology. She picks up her glass from the bar and nods to Jackie. "Lead the way, Sir!"

Darkness has posed:
Jackie reaches out, linking his arm in her own, "Sir? Really? I don't think so... if this is how you're going to talk to me I'm going to get you more drinks..." He looks down, asking "...what're you drinking anyway? Ty better not have been giving you the cheap shit." He walks her through the crowd, more than a few of the women giving Sam a very very dirty look, and he's back at one of the booths. It's amazing how much quieter it is, while still enjoying the music, "So look, where I come from, we don't give stuff away for free. So, what can I trade you for what you know about The Darkness?" There is a sly grin on his face, and he sits rather close to her but not enough to make her feel awkward.

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
"Uh..Maker's Mark, Private Select. It's good, if you can find it. Every place customizes their own batches, and I'm always curious to see what the differences are from one place to the next. This one's strong on oak. Sorta tastes like...it was aged at sea. Something about the salt in the air, I can't explain it. It's good, though." Sam smiles. "How about a name to call you instead of Sir? Cause then you don't have to chide me for it, and I'll know who I'm talkin' to about the baddest stuff known to man..."

Darkness has posed:
Jackie blinks... blinks again.. and a smile spreads even more across his face. "Damn. And you know your drinks." He shakes his head, "Sounds good. I'll make sure to keep them coming." He leans back against the couch in the booth, his arm drape across the back of it, "Jackie, nice to meet you..." and he is waiting for her name next, a small grin at the comment 'baddest stuff known to man'

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
"Samantha," she offers brightly. "But mostly people just call me Sam. So...Jackie, then. And definitely not 'Sir.' What do you wanna know about The Darkness?" Sam smiles a little more easily, intrigued by his proximity to her. "I figure if you've heard of it, you know at least a little about it. I could give, y'know, the hour-long lecture. Or just pull up one of my documentaries on it. But I figure maybe I could just fill in the holes if there's stuff you don't know about it."

Darkness has posed:
Jackie hmms, for a moment, "I like Samantha." he decides after a moment, and just then a waitress comes by with a bottle of Michter's 20 Year Old Single Barrel Whiskey. She gives Jackie a kiss on the cheek, and Sam can hear her whisper "Be nice. She seems like a good girl..." Jackie rolls his eyes, and pours a glass for Sam "Try this. Let me know what you think." He takes her hand, and puts the bourbon in it

"So.. what do I know. Some kind of evil that's been around forever. Some craziness about it tied to the devil. Fighting angels. But nothing really other than stories. We can start with the high level, and I'll ask questions as we go if that's ok..." He'll pause, and add "You don't mind, do you? Realize you might come here to not deal with this stuff before you head south. I'm sure I can find somethin' else for us to do as long as you promise to come back and talk to me again."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
Samantha grins and shakes her head. "Nah I don't mind it at all. You can ask anything you want to. The Darkness is...well it's the oldest thing there is, as far as we're concerned. Y'know how the story goes, 'And God said let there be light.' And there was light. But when He separated it from the Darkness...well that just pissed The Darkness right off. Sorta like being banished from the presence of God or some such. All that was left was hatred and vengeance. The Darkness has been trying to get back at Him ever since, or so the story goes." She takes the drink and sips it, narrowing her eyes as she focuses on the flavour. "That's...wow. Kinda takes ya by surprise, doesn't it? The spices, and...something sweeter, like a vanilla maybe." She sets down the glass and looks at Jackie. "That's better than your boss' Maker's Mark, but I guess ya probably knew that..."

Darkness has posed:
Jackie offers a small smile, eyebrows raised, at the comment on the bourbon, "Yes. I know. I'm not much of a drinker, to be honest, it's not good in my line of business to be impaired. Still, I can appreciate a well made drink, and a certain friend of mine is /very/ fond of bourbon..." He taps the bottom, "and this is what he asks for, so I know that it's good." He tilts his head a little, eyes twinkling with mischief. "I'm glad you like it, Samantha. Least I can do since I'm taking up your time."

He listens to the story, really listens, and he thinks through what she's told him. It's obvious he has a vested interest in the conversation and the stories, but why is difficult to tell "So before God, like Big G God?.." He grumbles a little, "How does The Darkness get back at God? Tempting people? So is this another story similar to the Devil?"

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
"Well, who knows, really, the Darkness may have even been around since before Big G God. But it's not like the Devil, no. I mean." Samantha sighs thoughtfully, trying to decide where to begin. "I found a scroll once that talked about all of this. Like the Darkness as a whole entity. It's not a matter of good and evil, or temptation or greed. I mean, my thought is, maybe The Darkness was God at one time, y'know? It WAS everywhere and WAS everything, just like the Bible says God is. And it says RIGHT THERE in the bible that in the beginning there was only Darkness, and when God spoke it separated in an instant. There was light. There was a whole host of creation, all at once. Y'know then the Feds hid the fossils for us to find." She winks. "But think about that for a second. The Omniscient and Omnipresent, rent in two, divided off from the half of itself that became Light. And banished. I imagine God would be pretty pissed if some other God came along and went 'HALVSIES!'" She makes a cleaver-like chop with her hand right down onto the table. "Now. You're done, go run along. You'll be feared and loathed for the rest of eternity, and you're no longer allowed to be here, or anywhere." That kinda anger. God anger. Eternal, raging, vengeful anger. Except if the scrolls are right, The Darkness found a way back."

Darkness has posed:
Jackie leans his head back on the booth, and closes his eyes as he thinks about what Sam just told him. More than he's learned at any point yet, and it's a lot to take in. Anger. Violence. Rage. It all makes so much more sense. He lets out a long contented sigh, before he looks up, leans forward and plants a kiss on Samantha's lips.

More of a quick peck than anything else, but Jackie leans back with a big grin on his face, "Samantha. You've made my night, you know that?" Almost as if the kiss was just a high-five, and he pours her more of the bourbon. "Ok, so how'd it find a way back?" handing her the drink again, and scooting a bit closer. "By the way, you get bored of talking about this let me know, and we'll find something else to do for awhile."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
Samantha blinks dizzily for a second, processing that ki--was that a kiss? She blinks again. It was a kiss. Still processing. By the Gods he's beautiful. "Uh, n-no I mean how could I ever be bored talkin' to--about...about stuff I've spent my life studying, y'know?" No, Sam, you don't sound like a tipsy and stammering fool at all. "It looked for a long time to find a vessel that could hold it. There's not that kinda hate in the animal world. But when man came along. Man, y'know, God's creation, and the first thing he did was go and stab God in the back and lie about it. The Darkness supposedly found its vessel, and it's been running its course from one generation to the next ever since. But nobody really knows if that's true. I mean I think we'd KNOW if someone here had the original god in him, right? It's certainly not anyone I've ever met."

Darkness has posed:
Jackie watches Sam as she slowly recovers from his unexpected physical expression of gratitude. There's a small smile on his face, and he takes the bottle to put the cap back on it. He slides it to the other side of the table, "You feeling ok, Samantha?" He finishes his milk, sliding the empty glass next to the bourbon bottle, "Come here. Relax." He pulls Samantha over so that her back is to him, and he starts massaging her shoulders. "Let me tell you a story I heard..."

As his strong hands work the muscles of her neck and shoulders, Jackie's deep voice takes on a storyteller type tone, "The Darkness found in man the seed of Hate, Anger, Violence. But what The Darkness also quested for is Change. The monotony of an eternity of the SAME could not be allowed. Creation. Chaos. That is what the Universe needed. It found that potential in Man. One Man to another was not appropriate until it found a particular Bloodline. This Bloodline was never happy with it's lot in life. It wanted more. Knew it could do more. Wanted the World to /be/ MORE. In this The Darkness found a kindred spirit, and from that point on it has worked with this bloodline sewing the seeds of Chaos. Some for Destruction. Some for Change that is Needed. Humanity is not perfect, but they can be the great cultivator of Change given the right power."

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
Samantha has gone to heaven. She's pretty sure of it. As Jackie rubs her shoulders, she listens to his story. It all makes sense, but why didn't the scroll she found have all that on it? And if he hasn't ever seen that scroll...how does HE know the rest of the story? "You're reaaaaally good at that," Samantha says, her eyes closed, vague on whether she means the story or the massage. "I'm fine. I'm better than fine..." Her voice has taken on a bit of a dreamy tone.

Darkness has posed:
Jackie's voice seems to whisper into her right ear, hands still working the muscles of her shoulders, "So, if I asked you a favor, would you mind doing it for me?" His chest pressed up against her back, "If you find anything else, would you mind telling me about it?" Did his lips just brush her ear, "I could pay for it. Or whatever you need, Samantha..." she feels him lean back a little, "...and if I hear anything else I'll let you know too." The massage stops, and his hand comes up to tilt her head back to look at him, "You doing ok? You need a lift home?" there is a bit of honest concern in his voice.

Samantha Nishimura has posed:
"I'm...Maybe I've had a little more to drink than I intended. I don't really think...no, I don't think I should drive, anyway. I could call a cab, though, it's no big deal really. I'm staying at a hotel nearby anyway, while I'm in the city." She pauses, backing up to consider his request. "I...I could definitely do that. Let you know. Anything you want to know. Anything you want."

Darkness has posed:
Looking down at her, Jackie shakes his head "No, not going to do. I'll take you back to your hotel." He kisses her forehead, and lays her back into the booth. "Don't move." He wanders back out, and is gone for a few minutes. When he comes back he is on the phone, "Yeah. I'll be a bit late. Got someone that needs a ride to her hotel..." there will be a pause, and he chuckles, "...she's really nice. I don't know if she'd be into that..." he raises an eyebrow, "...you are entirely too bad. I love it." He looks at Samantha, thinking for a minute, "We'll see... hey hey... don't be spoiled. I'll be home soon."

He hangs up, and helps Samantha to her feet. "Ok, tab is taken care of, and if you come back here they know to call me. Let's go, Samantha." He helps her past everyone still partying it up, and eventually takes her to his car. Opening the door, he places her inside, and moves over to the driver side. Again he looks at her, and seems to consider something "Ok, let's get you home..." and he drives off, away from the club.
