Cast of Characters: Silk, Aqualad

Silk has posed:
*Ding!* The Elevator door of Titan's Tower opens, revealing the dressed in Silk-uniform Silk. She's got some flowers with her, just in case Kaldur is still feeling under the weather. She peers around the lounge, with quiet curiosity, "Kaldur?! ARe you here? Are you okay since, you know, that whole thing with the lady...?"

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur is not far; at the first call of his name, he sticks his head out from one of the monitor rooms, and his cool expression brightens minutely at the sight of the petite wallcrawler.

"Hello, Silk," he greets the woman, moving to intercept her. He's dressed informally, in Titans-branded sweats and a hoodie, both in pale grey. Slightly over-wide sneakers protect his feet and he walks towards Silk, giving her flowers in her hand a curious look.

"I am well. It was some minor attempt at enchantment," he explains. "Odious, but not permanent or painful. Are you uninjured?"

Silk has posed:
"Oh, I wasn't sure if you were feeling sick or something after all of that, so I brought some flowers just in case you were still under the weather!" Silk states, offering the flowers out to Kaldur quietly. "You know, just in case." she says, with a little smile.

"I'm okay, yeah. No injuries here, though super creeped out about that dude trying to shoot and stab me with darts... I don't know what's up with that guy." Silk says, as she reaches up to remove the bandana-esque mask she wears.

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur looks unsure of what to do with the flowers, but he takes them carefully in his hands and examines them carefully. Surface flora is bright and colorful, and very delicate. He bows as if Cindy had given him a rare set of gems.

"A very considerate gift, Cindy," he says, his tone still grave but appreciative. As she removes her mask he invites her to seat herself and settles into one of the chairs as well, still cradling the flowers as he's unsure of what to do with them. "An unfortunate confluence," Kaldur agrees. "He was determined to hurt you. You seem none the worse for wear at least," he says, with a smile ghosting his stern, placid feature. "And it seems the woman made a great deal of chaos but did little other damage."

Silk has posed:
"The was after some kind of emerald. I have it stashed somewhere, right now." Silk states, as she sits. The flowers are not, in fact, living whatsoever. They're made of silk of the finest quality. Silk spun by silk herself. The flowers are not just folded pieces of cloth, no, they are woven as they seem- roses, daisies, a number of of other flowers all designed to last. The stems, even, are silk- albeit of an odd type that is stiff and can support the flowers above.

Cindy doesn't have any money. She can't afford to buy flowers- so instead, she made them. "Yeah, you were totally not yourself. I'm glad you're okay, though!"

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur grimaces a little. "Yes. It was a compulsion," he remarks. "One I should not have been afflicted by," he adds. "I spent many hours training with the warmages of the Atlantean magi. I have endured similar spells from Mera herself. It was... insidious. Perfectly executed. I did not even realize I was afflicted until you said as much," he tells the dark-haired girl.

He exhales and shakes his head. "Forgive me. I do not intend to add my troubles to yours. Tell me more of the strange man," he remarks. "He was very determined. Someone from your past?"

Silk has posed:
"Kaldur, there isn't really anyone from my past." Silk states, "At least, no one I know about. I mean, who would know about me?" She wonders aloud, "But, yeah. You were walking all wrong, and talking wrong, and your eyes were weird." she states, "If its one thing I can do its remember. A spider never forgets. Well, its supposed to be an elephant- but, in this case, a spider."

Aqualad has posed:
"An ele--" Kaldur furrows his brow, trying to remember. "I did not know elephants were so intelligent. I will remember this," he promises the slender girl.

"I am grateful you remembered. A sure way to jostle someone from a mild compulsion is to point out they are acting so irrationally," he reminds her. "You did very well."

"Are you hungry? Something to eat, or drink?" he offers, glancing at the flowers and trying to find a vase or somehting for them. He still seems unaware they are cunningly crafted art instead of the real thing.

Silk has posed:
"Its an expression. I don't know if its true or not, but Elephants do have really good memories. Very intelligent." Silk states quietly, "Oh! Yes, I'd love something to eat. I'm sort of drained after making the flowers." she admits, "I made them myself, I never tried flowers before." she says, "I used to weave a lot of clothes for myself when I was.. um. Away."

Aqualad has posed:
"They are very well made," Kaldur tells Cindy, seriously. But he does everything seriously. He sets the flowers upright in a vase that won't let them get crushed and heads to the kitchenette. Really, it's a full-service kitchen, but Kaldur's been banned from the stove. Too many fire alarms.

He finds some cold food-- crackers, tuna, cheese-- and in less than a minute, has a small platter made. Drinks, as well, in the form of sweet iced tea. All is brought over and set in Cindy's easy reach with the same deliberate care as Kaldur brings to everything.

"You have some skill, Cindy," he tells the dark-haired girl. "I did not realize you could do so much with your webbing. It is an impressive skill."

Silk has posed:
"I've had a lot of time to practice with it. I didn't have a lot to do for a long time." Cindy replies, as she looks at the food Kaldur brings, "Hey! Thanks!" she says, helping herself to some crackers, tuna, and cheese. Heroing is hungry work.

"I can do a lot with it, and its a lot of fun to make clothes with it." Cindy says, "And, really, I've got no clue what I'm doing. I have like zero skill. You're being way too kind."

Aqualad has posed:
"It is all the more impressive for your lack of formal training," Kaldur tells Cindy, determined not to let her dismiss her nascent talents.

He helps himself to a few snackies, but lets Cindy dive in without restraint. She's surely hungry, particularly given her recent exertions. "If you ever find yourself feeling that the heroics of the day are no longer your calling, it seems you have a fallback career as a tailor," he offers, with a glint in his pale eyes that suggests a humorous turn in his voice.

Silk has posed:
"I'm sure I could, but really, I don't see that happening anytime soon. At least not while Morlun and his hunters are after me." Cindy notes. "You know, I bet that dude had something to do with them. First was Daemos, and then him. I wonder if he works for them.." Silk states with a quiet frown, "A lot of insanity in this world, apart from that, and I think heroes are needed... especially now." Cindy replies.

She continues to eat. "So, tell me more about Atlantis, huh?"

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur blinks at the question, furrowing his brow in careful thought. "It is in some ways much like New York. Very different, in others," he allows. "One cannot see very far in the cities, even with the lights that are kept ever-burning. So smaller communiites are closer-knit. We must depend on one another. New York is so much... denser than the cities under the water, though," he reflects. "I do not understand how humanity endures such close conditions.

Silk has posed:
"Me either." Silk replies, with a shrug. "A lot of people close together kind of makes me uncomfortable." she continues, "Lots of noise, and so many smells, and colors and lights. Its really distracting." Cindy says, with a little breath, quiet a long moment.

"People depend on one another here." She says, then, "You just sort of have to look closer. People like to think they're alone, but, they aren't... its all interconnected."

Aqualad has posed:
"I understand," Kaldur says, with some sympathy. "And yes, I agree-- this city is smaller than some think it to be. It is close and tightly connected. People have few gaps between one another, though they pretend otherwise."

He rises. "I am glad you are uninjured, my friend. And that you are visiting the tower again. I must return to my duties at the observation ring," he apologizes. "But I'll see you soon, I hope?"

Silk has posed:
"Yeah, sure!" Cindy offers, "Thanks for the snack!" she states before she stands up and walks towards the window, opening it up. "I'll see you later, Kaldur!"

And then she leaps out of the tower, wholly fearless of the fall that follows- Thwip! A swing and she's away.
