Date of Scene: 25 November 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Diana meets a nice young man at a ice rink. They share some coffee and chat together.
Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Virgil Aimes

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana was at Bryant Park tonight for the tree lighting ceremony and to be a public figure for those here to see her and interact with her. Diana was a person of the people, she liked to make available for people so they could get a feel for how she is and let that connection make them more receptive of her goals in life, protect and try to help make the world a better place.

Diana Prince is on the ice rink in the center of the park. She's wearing a pair of white skates which made her well over 6'0" in height, she's got on some black slimfit jeans and a dark red leather jacket that is zipped up over a white turtleneck peeking out above the collar of the jacket and going up her slim neck. Her hair is tied back into a ponytail and she's wearing some white mitten gloves on her hands.

Diana has been skating with the children on the rink for awhile now, the Christmas Tree has been lit and now the park goers (and there's a lot of people here) are simply enjoying the Winter atmosphere.

Diana has been all smiles all evening, trying to speak with as many of the young people as she can.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
Skating around, Virgil had, perhaps even noticed by Diana, laced up some skates and started skating about twenty minutes earlier. He isn't very good. He's one of those people who is obviously used to running fairly often, and tries to skate like he's running, and perhaps bites off a bit more than he can chew when he gets going, but, miraculously, or perhaps a credit in his favor, he has managed not to run into anyone. Like Diana, he is lifted several inches taller than normal, and wears appropriate garb for the weather, which means a knit cap pulled down to his ears and a heavy black winter jacket over khakis that are probably a bit thin.

Even though he skates like he has no business skating, he seems to be enjoying himself and even slows down once or twice as he gets the hang of it to help get a kid up and on their feet.

Eventually, however, his luck runs out and he goes down hard, sliding across the ice face first and risking clipping right across Diana at ankle level. "Oh, sweet mother!" he yells out as he slides, "Sorry!" he immediately says, even as he comes near.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana had the luxury of cheating gravity to aide her from falling... which also made her much more adept at learning how to skate and ever since she was first introduced to it... so so long ago, she'd progressively gotten better every time she'd done it.

When Virgil fell and came sliding toward her, Diana spun about to face him and she lifted up her right leg to keep him from running right into and when he slid beneath ehr she reached down to pick him up and she LIFTED him back up to his feet in one graceful and easy motion... he weighed nothing to her and she had him back up and standing in front of her within a moment's notice.

Diana looked at the young man and she afforded him a very big and warm smile. "Are you okay?" She asked in her heavy Greek accented voice. She continued to hold him by his shoulders in front of her, not wanting to let him go incase he was injured.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
The question of whether Virgil is hurt is answered as soon as the good woman has him back on his feet, the skin across his eyebrow appears to be cut from his hit with the ice, and there is even a bit of blood on the ice, smeared over by where his body had been. It drips down across his face. It's somewhat akin to a boxing sort of cut. Blinking the blood from his eye, he looks around, and looks just a smidge confused at how he is suddenly standing.

Radioactive powers doing strange things again - - he'd have to mention that to the doctors at SHIELD. Apparently he can stand and /levitate/ now without doing it on purpose. As if her hands weren't holding him up. Maybe he's been hit on the head a bit too hard?

"I'm right as rain, nothing to worry about, I didn't hit you did I?" he asks, still clearly distracted at who he is talking to, and aside from being famous, the fact that she's smokin' by the fact that he has blood dripping into his eye at a steady rate. "I'm sorry about that. I got a bit over zealous, tried to do that whole.."

"Maybe I should sit down?" he posits.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would see the blood and it would immediately make her remove her gloves and stuff them into her jacket's side handwarmers. "Oh goodness." She said with a much more serious look on her face now. "Come along."

The Amazonian's left hand would go to the back of his right shoulder and she'd help guide him toward the side of the rink. "There is a bench here." She'd skate him to said bench and then would signal one of the rink representitives who came over to see what had happened.

"Sit sit." She'd say to Virgil then and she'd help him do just that. Diana would then tell the Park Employee to go and retrieve a medical kit and they'd dart off in a hurry to the other side of the rink where the medical staff was for this very thing.

Diana's right hand dipped into her jacket and she pulled out a red handkerchief and she knelt down in front of Virgil and reached up to clear the blood off of his brow. "What is your name?" She asked the teenager then. "And no, you did not hit me, so do not worry." Her voice was calming and warm to most ears.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
Already, the wound was slowing its bleeding on its own. Even if Virgil wanted to prolong the bleeding as his senses came back to him, just so that Diana would fuss over him a little longer, he couldn't make it happen. The light sheen of ice he'd scraped off the ice with his face was also melting rather quickly. Nothing was outright to the point of obvious regeneration, but at least the blood was slowing on its own.

"Thanks," he says as he settles down and finally recognizes her. "I'm Virgil, Virgil Aimes, what's your name?" he introduces himself and holds out a hand toward her.

Glancing over at the ring official, he waves it off and says, "No need for all of that, I'll be fine. Just need to catch my breath. You're sure I didn't hit you? I felt like i ran into something before I got up," he tells her, still a little confused at the events, even if he recognizes her.

Sitting back a bit on the bench, he pulls off his own gloves and puts one to the back of hers as she applies pressure to his brow.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The medical kit was brought over by a man in a bright yellow jacket and he stood there even with Virgil saying he'd be alright... because that just wasn't really how any of this worked. Teenagers always said things like that.

"I am Diana, Virgil." She'd say back to him, still dabbing at the wound until it seemed to be clotting and no longer freely bleeding. "It was a very nasty fall... but no, I moved before you hit me and I picked you up so you wouldn't be down near all the skate blades." She knew it happened all rather quickly so he must be confused.

Diana accepted the medical kit from the Official and she popped it open. A moment later and she grinned. "Superman bandaide or Hulk bandaid?" Her blue eyes looked up at Virgil and she showed him a grin.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"Old Greek names unite, am I right or am I right?" Virgil jokes, seeing as how his name is rather a famous Greek name, and well, Diana is Diana. He does make another gesture at the yellow jacket though, in an attempt to get them to buzz off, clearly not liking the attention he felt like it was drawing.

"Nice to meet you though, oh, you picked me up, that makes so much more sense. I thought I'd done something weird, and that was going to be just a whole different thing I'd have to deal with," he tells her, looking relieved. Though he does wonder how she'd kept her balance while lifting him. She must have had to dig in her skates really fast.

Staring at the kit, he seemed to actually be thinking about it and trying to imagine what he'd look like. "I suppose the green one, my eyes are greenish today, I think, maybe I can pull it off."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would take a Hulk bandaid out of the bag and then pass it off again to the man in the yellow coat. She'd grin again at Virgil. "Classic names are always a plus in my book." She said while unwrapping the bandaid from its plastic and it was likely that Virgil would see some flashes and no it wasn't a head injury, there were a few people taking photos of them and some were even recording it on their cell phones... Diana in public rarely could avoid such treatment.

She lifted the bandaid up then. "Okay..." And she'd place it just over his brow across the cut. "There." She said, smoothing it out across his skin with a few swipes of her thumb. Then her hand went down to rest on his shoulder. "All better."

She'd smile at him again and then offer her right hand to shake. "It is good to meet you, Virgil."

Virgil Aimes has posed:
The band-aid was really not helping much, but Virgil was feeling a bit too much like an idiot to try and explain to Wonder Woman, or to try to explain how he's radioactive and his cells have been repairing themselves faster because of it. Instead, he just accepts her gentle touch with a little flutter in his chest and a smile on his face, trying not to look dopey.

"Yeah, better," he agrees. "You must be used to this, by now?" he asks, flicking a little sideways nod of the head towards the people with the cameras even as he adjusted his hat slightly so that just a smidge bit less of his forehead was showing, and pulls up the collar of his jacket a hair as well.

Taking her offered hand, he gives it a shake and says, "It's nice to meet you as well, Diana. I'd usually ask questions like, where are you from, what's that like, what do you do?" he tells her, explaining that she is stumping all of the easy openers for conversation.

"So, how about can I buy you a coffee? For the eye thing," he asks. "And almost hitting you."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's blue eyes would look to the camera flashes and phones recording them... some were stopping though now that the 'good stuff' had mostly wrapped up and the social-media-shots weren't as ripe as they were.

She looked back to the teenager then and showed him a soft smile. "A coffee would be nice." She said to him then as she turned to sit down on the bench and would move to take off her skates. She had her boots with her in a black canvas messenger bag that was slung over her body and she went to pull them out, block heeled boots.

"Did you enjoy the tree lighting?" She asked Virgil then, glancing over to her left at him. A moment later though and a group of three young girls, 10 years or so in age, skated up to her to ask for her autograph... Diana had to of course ovlige and take the next few minutes signing and chatting them up.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"I know a place," Virgil says when she goes for the coffee idea, and spares only one last quick glance towards the folks with the phones. Hopefully he wouldn't get in any sort of trouble for being photo-graphed with a celebrity. It was hardly his fault, would anyone blame him for stopping to let her tend to him. He sort of doesn't care. Consequences be damned.

Getting up when she was talking to her fans, Virgil goes over to trade out his ice skates for his boots, and takes a seat on the wall nearby, even hopping down to walk, in his boots, on the ice to take pictures of the three girls with Diana when they ask for them. "There you go," he says to the girls, handing their phones back in turn.

He then stands aside, and seems a bit like a /good/ guy hanging out with a girl at the mall. Like he's obviously not enjoying being there waiting for her, but he's not going to make a big deal out of it. He just smiles and is patient.

She doesn't owe him anything, obviously, and even if she did, he wouldn't fault her for obliging her young fans. It was good role model time.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Once it was all wrapped up, Diana would step up and smile to Virgil after waving to the young girls whoe skated off. "Well then." She said to him as she turned toward the throns of people walking alongside the rink and the rest of the Christmas/Holidays-themed park. "You said you wanted to get coffee somewhere else?" She asked him then.

In truth, Diana had the rest of the day free. She'd been here for several hours and it was pretty much time for her to leave and head back to the Embassy but she could share a moment with a young man who'd hurt himself just to meet her! (sort of!)

"Where too then, Sir Virgil Ice Skater Extraordinaire." Then the princess just grinned at him, teasing him of course.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"To answer your question, I wasn't here for the tree lighting. I've just been taking the time every few days to get out and do something fun, thought I'd try learning to skate and heard this park had a rink," Virgil tells her as he walks with her, leading her out of the park along a path towards the nearest coffee place he knows of that doesn't require them to stand out among the teeming throngs of winter-festival sorts. Not that he could expect total privacy, but it would at least be warm.

Walking along with her, he pauses to take an icicle off the bottom side of a bench and proceeds to hold it up to the light as he walks.

"Yes, coffee," he confirms. "Do you get um.. coffee often, or are you usually too busy?" he asks, pointing the icicle at her before he idly flicks it into a nearby snowbank.

He answers her question by pointing at a shop straight ahead.

"Did you just knight me, by the way? I'm going to put that on my business cards. When I, you know, get cards."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would speak to a few more people on her way out of the park, some she clearly knew and others just casually greeting her AND him since he was with her of course. "The rinks in central park are much larger than this one. You might find it an easier time practicing there than here." She showed a light smile to her left at him as he toyed with that icicle.

"And yes, there is a small coffee shop across from my Home here in Manhattan. I visit it... once or a twice a week, depending on the flexibility of my schedule." She'd grin at him then and nod once at his words on cards. "It would be a great title to showcase. You would receive much respect. I am certain of it."

Diana's phone would buzz with a text and she'd pull it from her messenger bag and look to him. "My apologies... it never stops, you know?" She'd say then.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"I know, but they're usually much more crowded too, or so I heard, but I didn't realize there was a big event here today," Virgil explains his logic as he walks. Looking over at her from time to time. He is pleasant with anyone who stops to talk to them, but is mostly just surprised that Diana actually remembers any of them by name. He had never heard she had any sort of Amazonian super memory, but of course, it's not like he'd read her dossier. Yet.

When she starts talking about the coffee shop near her home, he nods his head and says, "Well, if you know that place is good, maybe we could go there?"

"Sir Virgil Aimes," he confirms. "Indeed. I'd get a special hat, too, knights wear hats, right?"

A glance over when she starts to search around in her bag, and he walks backwards in front of her for a few steps to answer while she finds the phoen, "Not really, no, but I can imagine," and then falls in step beside her again, not seeming to mind.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would spend a moment answering a text from one of her Sister's who'd seen her leave the Winter Festival with a 'stranger' and it just made Diana gently smirk/frown at the over protective nature of her kinfolk. The text was sent back in quick order and then the phone was stuffed back into the messenger bag.

Diana looked up at the young man and she'd smile more openly toward him. "Yes." She said at him, lifting her hands up to put her fingers up beside the crown of her head. "Knights wear hats with little bunny ears on them>" She'd say while giving her fingers little wiggles before grinning and dropping her hands back at her sides.

"We would have to take a cab to get to the coffee shop near to the Embassy. But it is up to you, I am headed that way ultimately anyway. What about you?" She'd ask him. "Are you in college here in the city?" She could tell he was young, wildly so compared to her age.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
The young man does his best not to eavesdrop on her text conversation, though seeing as he spends so much time practicing how to shoulder surf and a hundred other espionage tricks, he can't help but spare the slightest of glances. Well time to avoid detection.

"Bunny hat, you say? Of course, do pretty women like guys in hats with bunny ears on them?" he asks her as he turns to walk backwards and lifts his hands above his head, as if showing her how he would look, because clearly she would look like a dream wearing any hat.

"Sure, a cab is fine," he says to her and lifts a hand to flag one down as they get near the sidewalk. "I'm in a trade school, mostly just learning to shut up and listen most days. I think that's the biggest thing they teach you outside of primary school these days, how to shut up and pay attention," he tells her. And though it is far from obvious, he expands on the 'trade school' to keep her from asking questions about it, "Small classes though, lots of experts on hand. Did they have um.. school, where you're from? I mean, I assume you were taught things, but did you sit in rows with other girls?" a pause, "Did you wear a school girl uniform?" he asks.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would wait with her hands inside of her jacket pockets while he flagged the cab and she'd stare at him and listen, shut up and listen, right? Her phone would buzz again inside of her messenger bag but she wouldn't react to it this time.

A sly smirk would show itself on her lips at his line of questioning. "I was taught by my mother and my aunts. There were no other girls my age amongst my people when I was growing up. So everyone on the island had a hand in raising me, to some degree or another. But of course, education on Themyscira is treated quite differently from here."

Diana's eyes would glance up and down the street they waited for the cab bside. "There... so many distractions here, so many things taking the minds of the youth off of their learning... It is a true wonder that as many graduate as they do."

Diana looked back to him as the cab arrived and she went to open the door to let him inside... as women do not always have to enter doors first. "And no, there was no official uniform. Sorry to dash your hopes and dreams, Sir Virgil." She said back to him then in a dry tone of her accented English.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"That must have been intense. Everyone paying attention to you. Other kids diffuse scrutiny when you want to make trouble as a kid, I mean, if you were inclined, and then you didn't have a brother or sister, which can also be fun, sometimes," Virgil says to her standing with her with his arm held up until the cab pulls up and he doesn't hesitate to jump in and wait for her to follow before he looks over at her again.

He glances out the windows when she talks about distractions and nods a little.

"I'm admittedly, probably not the poster child for education. My parents weren't very helpful, I was too busy helping raise my younger brother and sister," he tells her, sharing a bit of his life story. "No uniform? A shame. I mean, nothing to stop you from wearing a uniform now," he pauses and considers who he is talking to, "Not that there should be."
A glance at the cabby in the rear-view mirror.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would enter the cab after him and she'd settle down on the seat and then pull the door shut. She'd smirk over at the young man beside her and then look to the cab drive as well. "East fifty third and first avenue, please, sir." She'd say to their driver with a little kindness hopefully added to her voice for him.

Diana would glance over to Virgil then as she leaned back in her seat and adjusted the bag on her upper body so it would lay beside her hip more comfortably. "I have a uniform." Diana said to him then. "It is very old, very important to me. A piece of my history and my aunt, who meant the world to me. One of the most important Instructors in my life in fact."

She'd show him a soft smile then. "I am glad to hear that you were there for you siblings. I am sure that... was not an easy way to grow up, but it was certainly one that you can reflect upon with a wealth of inner pride."

Virgil Aimes has posed:
Sitting beside Diana, Virgil tries to math out the distance and start guessing at how much the fare will run. "I was more suggesting that there was nothing to stop you from wearing--" he pauses and shakes his head, he was making a joke with Wonder Woman, he needed to deploy a different sort of humor with her. He needed to dig deep and find something she'd find what worked with her, not try to make stupid jokes that would work with Marines and SHIELD trainees.

"You do, I think most people have seen it, it's very nice looking. Is the upper part across your chest metal, or is that just a sort of brass inlay?" he asks. "The uh.. headpiece? Tiara? That's metal, right?" he asks. "And your wrist bands, and greaves, obviously."

Making conversation about her armor. Good move. She likely was fond of it beyond the sentimental reasons.

"And yeah, I'm proud of them. My brother is going to be a police officer in a few years, and my sister apparently wants to get political or something, I'm not entirely sure," he explains with a subtle bit of pride there.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would certainly smile at this line of questioning. "Here." She'd say then and pull back the zipper on the left cuff of her jacket's sleeve, a zipper that went dwon to about mid forearm. She'd then roll the sleeve back and reveal one of the bracers that he just spoke of. "The bracelets of submission." She said then, showcasing them to the young man. Though beautiful in craftsmanship the bracer still showed some signs of damage over its many years of service to the Princess.

"It is all gold. Crafted from the forges at my home. Almost entirely indestructible to forces upon this world... and many from others, so I have learned." She'd show a faint smirk then.

The cab driver was doing several 'looks' back at the two in his rear view mirror as he'd now known who he was shuttling around, but was too enthralled to interrupt them yet.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"You know, usually when a girl shows you her 'bracers of submission' it's about to lead into an entirely different scenario," Virgil says, and immediately almost bites his tongue, because he sometimes just lets things out that he really shouldn't, and after a moment of reflection, he says, "Sorry. My brain is wired for stupid jokes, I don't always double check them."

That said, he admires her bracers. Thinking a moment, he says, "Isn't gold normally rather um.." he has to think of the word which he only recently learned at SHIELD's training facility, "Malleable? Soft."

Seeing the looks from the cabbie, Virgil looks pointedly right into the mirror to get the guy to focus on the road if only for another minute or two.

"But really, it's very cool. The rest is gold as well, then?" he asks.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would roll the jacket sleeve back down her wrist and cover up the bracer. The driver would chime in with a thick New York accent and he'd tell her it was an honor to have her in the cab and this would make her smile sweetly at him, and even do a soft 'Awww' sound. She'd reply to him that it was a Honor to be in His cab.

The princess would then look back over to Virgil and she'd show a sly grin. "Yes, I have heard similar commentary about the naming and how it reacts inside of people's heads here. If you ever meet Tony Stark in the same room as me, you will likely hear a... long tirade of similar jokes and remarks." She'd say with a little continued smirk.

Diana would look down at her lap then and back over to him. "Gold, forged by an Amazon... within our fires... it goes through a process that makes it unlike any other gold found and forged upon the Earth. The rituals and ceremonies make it, as strong as vibranium or adamantium. It is why our weapons are still used today... We can still go toe to toe in a fight against guns and the armors of today."

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"Oh, of course, if I'm ever in the same room as you and Tony Stark, of course, that must happen all the time to random guys with Hulk bandaids on their eyebrow," Virgil says, making light of her understanding of the importance of people. Or perhaps not the importance of them, but their respective social groups.

Looking to the cabbie, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out some money to pay the cabbie for his time, because while the guy is certainly honored, this is New York, and New York cabbies get celebrities in their cabs, and they expect to be paid. Even when it's a member of the Justice League.

Following her out of the cab, he says, "I feel like I'm asking you questions that every random person must ask. I should figure out questions you don't normally get asked," he says to her as he holds open the door on his side of the cab for her, and holds out a hand to help her out.

She'd done the same for him, it was only fair play.

"So, what is your favorite ice cream?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would step out of the cab with his offered assistance and she'd say goodbye to the driver before smiling to the young Virgil and his kind help to exit the vehicle. "Thank you." She'd say to him.

"And you need not fret over finding out ways to impress me with questions... I understand that you may not know -everything- about me." She said with a sly grin shown then. "It is okay to not know who I am. I am not going to get annoyed by it, like some kind of... pretentious celebrity."

Diana adjusted the messenger bag o nher body again and she put her hands back into the pockets of her jacket. "The coffee place is just down there... The Embassy is across the street and two buildings further down." She'd start to walk and look over at him.

"And cookie dough is my favorite ice cream." She said with a little playful grin.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"Cookie dough, I'd have guessed you were something else. Like, you strike me more as the type to like French Silk Pie, not Apple Pie. Not pretentious, just," he says as they walk towards the coffee shop she'd pointed out to him. "More refined taste. Like you'd appreciate the subtleties of something, or maybe you find subtleties in apple pie that I don't? I like apple pie myself," he adds, as if to say that he isn't disparaging her choice, just that she struck him as being more of a Princess in refinement.

That said, he puts his hands in his pockets as he walks.

"I wasn't trying to impress you though, but I imagine people ask the same questions. Questions about your homeland, your armor, your latest adventure. It's," he pauses to think of something again, "It's unrefined questions. I could find out a lot of that stuff by reading interviews you've probably given, am I right? I'd rather ask you something, and know that I'm asking you something unique. A 'Sir Virgil' fact of the day."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would grin at his words as she walked with him toward the coffee shop. When a middle aged couple came out of the front doors with their cups of hot beverageness she reached out to hold the door open and let him enter, countering his cab door manuever!

"I never grew up the cliche ideas of a royal snob." Diana told him. "I say it, and I try to make myself believe it... though it may not entirely be true. I do enjoy the finer things in life, but when I was a kid I would still run away from my protectors to go and find adventure within the wilderness of my home island. The forest there was filled with wonderous creatures that... truly are any little child's wildest imagination. My favorite was always the Unicorn."

Once inside, Diana would take her hands out of her pockets and she'd grin at Virgil. "You bought the cab. I can pay for the drinks." She told him then.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"Of course, the unicorn. In my hometown, we have the giant sewer rat, and of course, the sewer alligators," Virgil says, teasing her back, he believes her story fully, because frankly, she could say they ride around on clouds and drink rainbows, and he'd just nod and say, 'Wow.'

Walking through the front door he says "Thank you," and then walks up to the counter, leaning his hip into it. Reaching up under his knit cap, he lifts it away showing off his rather uniform military style haircut which might be a bit of a reminder of friends she'd lost long ago, or maybe not. Just another guy with a haircut, maybe.

"Cappuchino," he orders and gets a little more specific with his preferences, and then stands aside so that she can order. Once she has ordered and paid, he walks over to a seat and strategically stands by a chair so that she can't claim one facing the room. Deliberately trying to make it so that less people notice who she is.

Taking off his jacket, he hangs it across the back of his chair and puts his hat down on the table.

"Out of curiosity, this might be a less unique question, but is everyone who works at your embassy a woman?" he asks, glancing across the street to try to see through the building.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would order a white chocolate latte and she'd soon join him at the table, doing the same with her jacket, leaving her in her clingy white turtleneck sweater that she had on beneath it, it was tucked into her black jeans. She'd sit down across from him and take not eof his haircut being military-styled but she didn't comment on it.

She did, however, grin at his words and leaned back in her chair. "No..." She said at him, playfully defiantly. "I am the one pushing my mother to allow more people onto the island, regardless of their gender. I fight for both genders, I just... have notoriously had to fight harder for women's rights than I have for men's."

She lifted her drink up to her red lips with both of her hands, pausing before sipping. "We have many fantastic men and women who work for us at the Embassy, supporters of our society. Our Chef, for instance, is a very... colorful personality, and male." She'd then sip her coffee and let her eyelids close gently over her blues, clearly the taste of the drink settled well within her mouth... as the look on her face denoted one of being quite pleased.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
Taking a sip from his cappuchino, Virgil settles into his chair and seems to relax a little. As he relaxes, he catches sight of his bandaid along the ridge of his orbital and reaches up to gently coax it off, grinning a bit to prevent him from making a noise as he comes away with a few eyebrow hairs in the process. The bleeding had been mostly done when she'd put it on, and there is only the faintest bit of blood on the padding in the little bandage.

Folding it over on itself, he puts it in a pocket.

"Oh, I mean, I don't begrudge a," he pauses, "Quasi-mythological society of ageless warrior women if they want to have their rules about who gets to hang out around there, and I don't think your people really want to have tourists walking around snapping pictures, but I suppose it makes sense if your folk were to allow select groups of philanthropists and that sort. Have you heard of TED talks? A Themysciran of that, maybe?" he suggests.

He has no idea what he is talking about, he'd never even thought of it before, but he sometimes lets things roll when they come to him. Okay, he does that almost all the time.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"It is something that I have pushed for for a long time now." Diana would reply to him after she set her coffee back down in front of her on the table, her hands wrapped around its base to enjoy the warmth. "I do not like that my homeland has less foreigners upon its soil right now, than that of North Korea... I know that the differences are huge between the two nations, but still..." She looked over at him as he pulled his bandage off and stowed it.

"That thought at its core, leaves me very uncomfortable. But at least my mother will hear me out on the subject now and we have established a working visitation trial for individuals that have gone through the proper vetting process."

Diana smiled softly again toward him. "Of course, they are restricted to guided tours and made to stay on the beach... but still, it is progress, yes? Perhaps in another hundred years they will be able to... I don't know, enjoy a stroll down the market street with a loved one--without being escorted by an armed Amazonian behind them."

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"Does it? North Korea isn't disturbing because of how they treat foreigners, they're disturbing because of how they treat their population. Your people are cautious of letting outsiders into a utopia, North Korea is cautious because they are fearful that outsiders will let their caged herds become aware how awful their lot is. It's a polar opposite situation, in my opinion," Virgil says to Diana, maybe trying to tell her that he doesn't judge her country for their policies. Not that his opinion matters in a global sense, but he can offer his two cents.

The welt on his eyebrow is completely healed, to the point that one might wonder if he'd ever been injured at all, if she hadn't seen him bleeding rather profusely an hour earlier.

"But yes, I should like to see it sometime, without needing to learn how to make myself look like a beautiful woman," he says, as if he'd been thinking about how to cross-dress the whole time.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would listen to this and she'd softly nod her head a pair of times to his words. "You are a very wise young man, Sir Virgil." She said to him then showing a little warm smile before lifting her drink up for another sip.

She'd glance out to the night time street to her left out of a window on the front of the cafe, the street lamp posts were all sporting festive holiday lights and it was something that Diana enjoyed most about this time of year in the city.

She exhaled lightly and looked down and then back over and up at him, blue eyes upon his face again. "I know that you are right, but it still makes me uncomfortable." She'd then glance down again for a second. "And yes, men are allowed on the island... The vetting process is just a little more stringent, but it is not without possibility. So who knows." She looked back to him then and gave him a reassuring smile.

"One never knows what the future may hold."

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"I have my moments, a lifetime of quiet with drunk parents you want to avoid leads to a lot of um.. introspection," Virgil tells her and smiles as charmingly as he can, mirroring her by drinking from his cappuchino. Watching her with her drink, he seems to be thinking on the prospect while he drinks and watches what she watches, fascinated by the way her mind seems to work. That she enjoyed the lights was rather enchanting.

Or maybe Virgil is just easily enchanted by Princesses. That seems to be a thing lately.

"So, your favorite ice cream is cookie dough. Do you have a favorite," he pauses, "Movie? Let me guess. Cassablanca?" he guesses. She's older than anyone he has ever met, so she might have a fondness for classics.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would reach across the table to take hold of his hand and give it a soft squeeze at the mention of his parents and she'd show him a little smile. "You have clearly overcome a rough childhood. I am proud of you, Sir Virgil." She told him before drawing her hand back to her cup's base.

A larger smile was shown then and a slight shake of her head as she glanced down. "No... I respect it, I suppose, but I have never really been one for films all that much. I find myself getting restless while watching them." She looked back up at him then.

"If I had to choose?" She glanced back outside then. "Its a Wonderful Life, I would say is my favorite." She looked back at him then and grinned. "And... Airplane. It is good to laugh, afterall."

Virgil Aimes has posed:
When she takes his hand, she can feel that it is warmer than normal, warmer even than his cup, which hasn't stopped steaming even when hers likely has. If one were extremely observant, that is.

"I wasn't looking for pity, Princess, but I suppose I did over share a little," he realizes and will have to tell his instructors about that later. He needs to have that particular bit of over share tendency crushed out of him. He can share a little, but sharing something that deep was like inviting a person over for dinner. It wasn't something one should do casually, not for a SHIELD agent.

Listening to her preferences on movies, he nods slowly and says, "I've never seen that, but I have seen Airplane! It's pretty funny," he agrees. He pauses to think of a line, and then remembers the coffee joke, and seeing as it's relevant, offers, "Cream?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would gently nod her head to what he said, her pointed chin dipping down as she stared across the table at him and then watched him as he made the Cream joke and it made her stumble for a second to remember the nature of the joke and the point of origin of it... When she did she just gave him a 'look' and a light shake of her head back and forth.

"I am not going to finish that line of dialogue from the movie." She told him, grinning widely now. "I remember seeing that movie in the theater on the night it released... The entire audience was laughing harder than I had ever heard people laugh before. The jokes were inappropriate and many of them would never 'fly' by today's standards. But back then? It was somehow refreshing."

She released an exhale then and softly shook her head. "We all have those random quirks about us that might surprise others to learn, yes?" She'd ask then before taking another sip from her drink. She HAD noticed his heated temperature, but she wasn't entirely looking to pry about it.

Her eyes were watching him though, but he didn't look ill or in any sort of trouble.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"No? Well, I'm glad I have a chance," Virgil jokes, insinuating that she wasn't saying it because she wasn't so restrictive in her mates. Not because he thinks he has a chance, but if he could get her to blush even just a little, his week would score a ten out of ten for achievement marks. He could even brag about it with other recruits.

Hearing her tale about the audience, he smiles and seems to be picturing it in his head.

"Well, if you're ever not restless, there are some modern comedic masterpieces that might bear your consideration," he tells her. Her watching him doesn't earn too much of a response from him, mostly because he didn't want to be caught staring at her, and thought she might be trying to catch him sneaking looks at her. Her observations only pick up the warmth, really, and that he had seemingly healed faster than seemed natural. Not exceedingly fast, not so fast that it would have been observable to the naked eye, but a cut like that should have taken a day or two to look so 'normal' again.

Scratching at the side of his nose, he asks, "How about roller coasters? I suppose that's sorta like asking if a race car driver likes bumper cars. Um.. what restaurant, in all the world, has made the best food, in all of your considerable travels?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would nod her head once and reached for a napkin from the dispenser on their table. She used it to dab at the cup's lid and then she folded it up into a little square and grinned at what he was saying. "I am always up for a new movie and comedy's are something I truly do enjoy. But they are often hard to find ones that do not go too far with the gross-out humor, which... I can accept, but I like a variety of laughs." She'd show him a litlte smile then. "If that makes any sense."

Diana would then look out the window again when he asked her about restaurants and she'd shake her head slowly right to left. "I liked a restaurant here in town so much that I insisted on hiring its Head Chef when he said he was leaving it."

Her blue eyes returned to him and she smiled again. "So, I guess that means my favorite is now my own kitchen?" She said that as more of a question and her head tilted juuust a little to emphasize it.

Virgil Aimes has posed:
"You are? Well, I will endeavor to find something that balances out the gross out humor, a variety of humors, perhaps starting with some classic Steve Martin? The Jerk? Or Chevy Chase? Fletch. Caddyshack? Planes, Trains..?" he sort of lets a few of the older but not quite ancient comedies roll off his tongue, not wanting to go immediately for newer stuff, but going for the oldest movies he'd really seen, thinking that their humor might be a bit less over the top with certain dirty elements.

Rising to his feet, he pats his pockets, and pulls out a pen.

Taking up a napkin, he writes down his phone number and hands it to her, "You strike me as the sort of woman who is always busy when she wants to be, and not one to be calling to ask about getting food at her private dining room, and meeting her for a movie, so if you ever want someone to watch something with.." he leaves it hanging.

Picking up his hat off the table. "It has been a pleasure making your acquaintance, Diana," he says and starts to pull on his jacket.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would lean back in her chair again and she'd get a look of surprise when he mentioned that last one. "Oh my... Planes, Trains and Automobiles... That movie genuinely makes me cry for all the right reasons. Good and badly so. What a heart warming story!" She'd move to sip her drink again when he'd rise and when he said his final words she'd accept his offered information and would give him a soft and little nod of her head.

"It has been a pleasure, Sir Virgil Aimes." She had taken note of his healed wound already too and it answered her question that he was either a mutant or a meta-human. But he'd given her no reason to inquire to find out and she did not want to be rude and pry too deeply into the young man's life.

"I will add you to the list of guests for our next event at the Embassy, it is the easiest way to get you inside and let you sample the fine dining." She'd offer her hand to shake before he left once he had his jacket on.
