Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: X-23, Winter Soldier, Power Girl, Mon-El

X-23 has posed:
In an alleyway behind the Shawarma Palace, Laura has found a good spot to sit in between piles of trash, nibbling on a bit of pita that she manages to get herself. Keeping relatively out of sight, unless someone was specifically looking towards her while walking by. This is likely what gives a group of bullies the impression they are alone with their hapless victim. It's a poor kid who just finished his shift at the Shawarma Palace, a mutant who is notable for the bubbles that seem to fly out of his mouth every time it opens. Seems like one of the ones who got stuck with not a very useful ability, as he finds himself in a bottom of a pile, getting beat on by goons with nothing better to do, "take that mutie, you should just kill yourself!" They taunt him while landing on more punishment, some taking the time to film it on a smartphone.

Winter Soldier has posed:
Thankfully enough, Bucky was just walking down the street...actually headed towards a nearby History museum that he heard had a Captain America exhibit. He was hoping since they had a piece of the Howling Commandoes in it that he might be able to find out something about himself in a subtle way....as his mind was still a giant spaghetti dish of a mess.

He's wearing simple clothes, staying out of sight and out of mind. a baseball cap keeps his hair in check and doubles as a cover for his face, he wears a brown jacket that covers his metal arm with a dark red longsleeve shirt underneath, coal-black pants, and just some casual boots. But he sees bullies beating the kid up, and the former assassin approaches, speaking in a grim voice.

"Hey....leave him alone." and he just -knows- there's gonna be trouble now....damnit.

Power Girl has posed:
As of late, Power Girl has been listening for things more muted than the usual gunshots.

That, of course, is why she is even aware of this particular assault taking place. There is a CRACK that echoes in the sky, so loud and heavy that it'd turn heads were it not for the fact that it is only audible several seconds after the unmistakable form of Power Girl is already on the scene. Her red half-cape flows in the wind, the bright white of her uniform a spot of perfection among the dingy grunge of the alleyway.

There is no banter, no warning. She literally just starts pulling people off of the prone victim, being only gentle enough that as she frees them from the person they're beating, they won't be particularly injured. Unless one or more of them is more than human, it won't take long for the young man to be out from the pile, considering that a bulletproof alien is pulling the throng's components apart.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar Gand has only been on Earth for a few weeks, at least as far as he remembers, so he isn't very familiar with a lot of Earth issues like the anti-mutant crowd. He notices the unusual boy leaving the restaurant and then getting attacked--seeminly unprovoked--by a group of bullies.

Now, instead of trying the verbal route first as Bucky does, Lar simply rushes up to them and starts grabbing them and throwing them off of the victim like Power Girl does...except without the restraint she is exercising. Not that he's -trying- to cause them permanent harm, but more that he hasn't quite "re" figured out how to control himself that well yet.

X-23 has posed:
The bullies stop for a moment, well, not all of them, a couple still keep their feet pressing down on the hapless mutant. The leader of the pack, a guy with shades and a leather jacket and loads of gel in his hair turns towards Winter Soldier with a smirk, "what? You got a problem with a little mutie getting what he deserves?" He asks him, a few of his friends motioning for Bucky to move along.

But then Power Girl shows up on the scene, and she turns out to be a great deal more convincing and intimidating than Winter Soldier. The two pressing down on the guy get thrown off him, before they can even say anything, several others create quick space between themselves, their victim, and the newly arrived Power Girl. The guy with the smart mouth giving Winter Soldier attitude, looks a lot less sure of himself as he turns to look at the striking Power Girl, "errr...we were just having fun...we're friends, we were playing, you can cool it superbitch!"

Those who weren't creating distance enough, gets tossed easily by Mon-El, a few crack their bones from the force of the throw. One of them points at Mon-El, "it's one of them super criminals! Watch out guys!"

With all the noise, Laura steps out of her hiding spot, looking on curiously as she licks her finger clean from the last morsels. The mutant with the bubble powers looks quite battered and disheveled, lying on the ground without moving, breathing heavily.

Winter Soldier has posed:
"....."

Bucky can hear the woman of steel approaching them, but before he can necessarily react, she's already throwing people aside. He doesn't really seem surprised or otherwise shocked, but he does give Power Girl a small nod.

theeeeen his attention falls upon what looks like the leader of the wolf pack in front of him, and when asked. "and what has he done to deserve it. I should say you deserve the same." a small smile then, and because Bucky always stuck up for the little guy (looking at you Steve) he simply attempts to knee the man right in the crotch, zero effort, yet with a coldness to his features. What? You beat a guy up, you pay for it.

Though then his eyes fall upon Laura, and he says nothing. Mon-El gets a glance too since he's ragdolling guys.

Power Girl has posed:
Though Power Girl is not trying to hurt them as -yet-, she is not entirely arguing with the idea. For the moment, she kneels next to the mutant on the ground, taking a time to inspect his injuries. "Hey, come on now. Let's get you out of here." she states, moving to pull and stand the mutant up. Earlier, she'd been a bit more sociable with the idea- taking a social stance. Right now, she is more interested in making sure that the young man gets the treatment he needs. She stands him up so that he's on his own two legs, and, for the first time, speaks.

"You know, I think that that is just about the dumbest god-damned thing I have ever heard." she says, in response to the lead-hooligan's moment of sublime ignorance. "You start off, saying that he's your friend, playing around, as if there's some sort of friendly ritual that friends do that involves beating the shit out of a friend in an alley. Truly, it's an old pastime, lynching a close acquaintance." By the time she's stood the mutant up, she's looked through his skin and noted the formation of some bruises. He could, however, in Peej's professional opinion, feel better by seeing the comeuppance that this group of men get.

"Then, let's talk about how you decide to punctuate a statement meant to earn my trust and mercy by calling me Superbitch. I think I know exactly what to do here." she states, stepping a little out of the alleyway. She disappears for half a moment, a rush of wind accompanying her disappearance. Then, after perhaps a second, she returns. Now, she's holding a brick.

"I propose that this brick, being your intellectual superior, be given custody over the lot of you following your incarceration. All in favor?" She's hamming it up a bit, in order to make it a little less of a harrowing and violent situation for the young mutant. A little levity to stave off the emotional scarring.

Mon-El has posed:
As soon as he and Power Girl have succeeded in getting all the attackers off of the innocent victim, Mon-El quickly examines him with an X-ray vision scan to see if he has any severe injuries. Seeing that it appears the young mutant will recooperate, he is visibly relieved. "He'll be all right, I think. But why? What'd he do to you?" While Mr. Mouth Bubbles doesn't seem to have suffered any permanent damage, it hasn't occurred to him yet that he might have caused the same to the humans he just threw off.

He watches as Power Girl starts to insult the bullies. Hm, she seems to move as fast he himself can and in a similar manner. Maybe she's from Krypton or Daxam? Though he does chuckle a bit at the brick comment and the sarcasm. She certainly has wit. "How can we call for medical treatment for this human? Er, mutant. Human mutant?" he asks toward anyone who will answer.

X-23 has posed:
Bill, the guy who was leading this beatdown for no other reason than the kid was a mutant, doesn't seem nearly as sure of himself now that metas entered the scene. He's so busy being scared of Power Girl and Mon-El, he has zero shot of reading Winter Soldier's knee to the crotch, as he yelps in pain and drops down on his knees, before curling in the fetal position on the ground, "what the fuck, man!? We didn't hit him that hard!" He wails, rolling in pain. His friends, meanwhile, look at each other, even as Power Girl is seeing to their poor victim, "hey, we was just playing," they try to down play their role, leaving Bill to his fate as they try to scatter in a hurry.

Bill in the meantime, agonizing on the ground after the glory shot by Winter Soldier, is wailing as Power Girl sounds like she just might inflict further punishment on him. "I'm sorry, it was a slip of the tongue, you're just hot and all...y'know?? Sorry I called you Superbitch. Please just let me go..."

The others don't even wait, they try to make their escape from the scene, hoping Mon-El, Power Girl and Winter Soldier will just deal with Bill and that'll be the end of it.

When Mon-El asks about the mutant's injuries, Laura casually remarks, "none of his injuries are fatal, he just took a beating, he'll live." Having that said, she does keep largely to the side, not directly involving herself.

Winter Soldier has posed:
Bucky just watches 'Bill' fall to the ground in pain. In truth, it was force of habit. Cruelty is met with Cruelty in his book, but he gives a glance Mon-El "With her here, it's likely a sure sign that the cops are already on their way." He looks to Power Girl, not a statement of demonitization or talking down to, but rather an observation that's actually a compliment for her. Though he shakes his head when Bill admits to why he called Powergirl Superbitch.

"Kids these days." he recalls when the times were simple and most men were gentlemen. Oh how he wishes it was the 30s/40s again....well kind of, being in WW2 still would suck. He looks then to Laura when she speaks, simply giving her a small nod at her observation skills....or perhaps potent mutant abilities?

Power Girl has posed:
"Well," she begins, reaching up to massage at her brow. "Okay then, just a moment." she states, moving away from the mutant's side, and bolting up over Bill to grab the retreating individuals up not by their collars, but by their waistbands. Because, specifically, that cannot be pleasant. Her intent is to snatch them up and return with them- if only to ensure that they -all- go down.

"I had a police cruiser I was dealing with earlier," she begins, once she's managed to set them back down, "But I'll need both you," she gestures her head towards Bubble Man, "And you," her head nods to Laura. "To come down to the station and give some form of statement. Something will come of it if I turn them in personally." Her voice lacks any wavering, and she seems so very certain. Laura's ability to notice things beneath the surface on the mutant goes ignored- if only because she'd rather not bring it up and make the conversation perhaps a touch more difficult.

Mon-El has posed:
Mon-El doesn't chase the other guys, instead just calling after them. "Well, you should be much more careful next time then! You wouldn't want to accidentally kill a friend. Because then it's not playing anymore. Or maybe you should choose a more fit opponent for yourselves." Based on what Vanya told him, fighting is done for fun on Earth sometimes. He did enjoy that little friedly scuffle he had with her, after all.

But then Power Girl goes and grabs them anyway. "Hey, maybe you should let them be. I think they were just boxing and overdid it a bit. He will be all right in the long run." He glances at Laura who seems to have confirmed this. "Oh, how did you know?" he asks. "Are you a mutant too? Or are you foreign to this planet?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks at Power Girl and Mon-El and she sees Superheroes. It's Winter Soldier who gets most of her attention, his poise doesn't suggest a random helpful bypasser on the street, so she tries to take his measure by studying his posture, looking for any other telltale marks about him. She assumes he must be at the very least an operative, but there's no guarantee from just a brief encounter.

"No! Wha...ARRRGGHHH!" None of the bullies really have a chance, a snowball in hell has a better shot then they do against these odds. Power Girl collects them in no time, and in a manner they do not appreciate in the least, all appeared pained and quite remorseful all of a sudden as she gathers them together. "We was just playing, we told you...you're taking it too far," but then they look at the sad state the bubble generating mutant was left in, and finally shut up. "We're sorry, we promise never to do it again, ok?" Hey, it's worth a shot, she's a hero after all, right?

When Mon-El offers his input, they all are quick to point at him, and tell Power Girl, "see? He gets it! We promise, never again! We learned our lesson for sure!"

Laura looks at Mon-El when he asks her a question, but gives him a different answer than the choices he offered, "I saw it, they beat him, the bruises on his body suggest no fatal injuries...he'll live."

Winter Soldier has posed:
Bucky just watches as Power Girl does her thing, rounding up the leftover punks with almost insulting ease. Seeing that -that- particular job was done. Though the beat up young men now pleading for some semblance of mercy is somewhat satisfying, a price must be paid. No man deserves to stand above another, in his own humble opinion.

But it's Laura who catches his eye, and he meets her gaze. Though his was more reclusive, but not cowardly....broken. As such he straightens out his baseball cap and steps over Bill with relative ease. "I don't like bullies." he mumbles to himself...and that alone brings flashbacks, a hand to the side of his head...but the memories are shattered, broken. More pieces to an evergrowing puzzle.

"...sounds like you have everything handled."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl's response to their pleading is to start shaking them upside down in the most incredibly torturous way possible. It's humiliating and rather painful, but won't leave any marks or injuries. She offers this light sigh, and then just sort of tosses them to the ground next to Bill. "No, they weren't playing around. They're begging for mercy now, but the arrest is the kind of mercy they deserve. Unless, of course, they're willing to play their game with us. I mean, we could take turns. Since they were kicking someone on the ground, -we- could start, right? I sure could use the workout. I wonder what happens to the human body when I kick it as -hard- as I physically can. I've always been curious."

She looks around for a moment or two, at the others present, before she pauses on Mon-El. "Can you do me a favor and get these guys tied up with something? It'll take me a few moments to gather the authorities."

Mon-El has posed:
"So you have very advanced medical expertise, okay then." Lar replies to Laura, shrugging. It's not exactly clear whether he's being sarcastic or he actually figures that it must be true.

Mon-El hms when Power Girl contradicts the claim that they were just playing. "Well yes I admit they were overdoing it, but--" he cringes when she shakes them up and down. "Arrest? So boxing is illegal? Well then maybe they should face the law, it's only fair." He starts to search for something to restrain them with.

X-23 has posed:
Laura continues to look at Bucky intently, there's a chance she might have said something if others weren't near by, but as that is not the case, she gives him the courtesy of not bringing to public anything he might not necessarily liked share. Call it Honor Amongst Assassins if you will. Not that she knows anything about him, but she has so much experience in her young age, she has an intuition about him.

Bill's friends prove to be cowards, as if that shocked anyone, crying for mercy and screaming in horror as Power Girl gives them a sense of what it's like to be bullied. By the time they're thrown next to Bill to writhe on the ground, they all attest that they've learned their lesson. "Please...just call the cops," they plead, apparently having had enough of a taste of their own medicine.

"We promise not to go anywhere, you don't have to tie us up, please?" The crowd of wouldbe goons now stare pleadingly at Mon-El.

Winter Soldier has posed:
Bucky just kind of puts his hands in his pockets, gives a single nod, only one, for everyone in attendence....and then he walks off...crossing the street like nothing even happened.

In stranger news, a car seems to cover his view for only a single moment. When the car moves?

He's gone.

Power Girl has posed:
Without much else to the gesture, Power Girl leaves Mon to it. She considers him at least capable of tying the men up. She steps out of the alleyway and gestures to the mutant they were kicking and beating moments before. She seems to be interested in carrying him, and if he'll allow it, she'll take him with her to the same station that she had turned in several violent anti-mutant rioters she'd turned in earlier in the day.

These were men she could trust to at least follow through with the arrest and criminal proceedings- if for no other reason than that it was Power Girl that brought them there. Bubble Man will get the proper medical attention from them, and then from that station she'll end up retrieving a squad car in order to make the arrests that, well, need to be made. She'll be gone for a few minutes, at least, before all of that can be dealt with. The police aren't necessarily as fast as a Kryptonian.

Mon-El has posed:
"Cops? As in police?" Lar isn't sure but given the context that's what it sounded like. "Well it looks like she has that part handled." he gestures toward Power Girl. He shrugs and gives up the search for restraints. "It's not as if you can escape us, anyway." He looks somewhat distracted though. If boxing is indeed illegal, then why was it that no one tried to stop he and Vanya before? It doesn't quite make sense. "Why did you try to force him to play? He didn't seem to want to."

X-23 has posed:
"My name is Jerry, thank you for saving my life," the shaken victim whispers to Power Girl as she carries him to safety, "I thought I was dead..." he says, shivering as she carries him.

The bullies in the meantime are left agonizing on the ground with Mon-El, and they don't appear like they will try to escape, if only for fear of having Power Girl come back after them. "We just hit him a few times, he was supposed to hit back, you know...? Maybe he's not good at this game?" They offer Mon-El.

Laura in the meantime, seems to have pulled a vanishing act much like Winter Soldier, not caring to linger there.
