Cast of Characters: 232, 142, Melinda May, Captain America

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
A long night is something that is not exactly easy to cope with the following day. A long night before a day of classes at an Ivy League school could find one steadly slipping behind in their work. Thankfully Gwenn managed to get at least a little sleep. Enough to keep her on the go throughout today. Still doesn't mean she hasn't been sucking down coffee like its going extinct on this planet.

All through the day, Gwenn's mind had been going to the events of last night. It was a trying thing. She did her best to get ahold of SHIELD and SWORD but to no avail. As a Last Ditch Gambit she called a private line and left a message to be picked up by Coulson but honestly, Anyone could hear it. The message was simple. 'THis is Gwendolyn Charlotte Tennyson I have an urgent situation that I need to speak to you about. Get back to me as soon as possible.'

Its no mystery where Gwenn goes to school. It's no mystery about her acting as a hero even when it is dangerous for her to do so. Still something was stirring inside her. A deep warning. Something is seriously wrong. As she steps off campus, she begins walking her way to a nearby 'Mr. Smoothie' resturant. She needs something cool after the long day she's had.

Adrien Agreste (142) has posed:
The sheer number of gigs Adrien has had to do has been mind numbing. He was never more grateful for all the homeschooling on business things as he was in this semester. The freedom that comes from powering up and leaping roof top to roof top was part of what was keeping him smiling. Like now. He paused, perched on the sign to Mr Smoothie, leaning forward to look into the eatery. To flip in and get a snack or not to snack. This was rhe question. He had some cash in his pocket (Reasons) and as Chat he could get away with eating anything he wanted in public. Like fries... oh! or ice cream. yum. nonono.... pasteries. all the baked sugary goodness. Chat grins to himself, tossing himself from the sign and toward the ground near the door.

Melinda May has posed:
When Coulson is out of pocket, Agent Melinda May checks his messages. One from a Gwendolyn Tennyson seemed noteworthy enough to follow up on. After notifying the powers that be and collecting anyone sent to accompany her, she makes her way toward the school where Coulson's files said she'd find Ms. Tennyson.

"Any idea what this could be about?" May asks of her passenger. Her driving is rather like Romanoff's. Fast and dangerous-lloking, but completely controlled.

Captain America has posed:
Cap has been mostly silent lately, spending a lot more time off to himself, ever since that doppelganger started showing up in the strangest of places. For most the ride he's just been looking through his own reflection head up against the glass, blonde hair struck out rather haphazardly as he just watches the scenery pass him by.

After a long moments silence he speaks back up saying. "Let's just hope it's not another alien invasion." Spoken in a somewhat distant tone as those baby blues just stay locked on the hundred yard glance far beyond the actual scenery. "The last four took a lot out of me." He jokes with a slightly almost hollow smile.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
As Gwenn makes her way in, she nearly runs smack into Chat Noir. She eeps and stumbles back. Her hands light up pink and a pink platform forms around waist level. High enough for a seat. She lands on it and stands back up. "Umm, Excuse me? You should probably consider not dropping in on people like that?!" She shakes her hands dispursing the pink magic around them.

Quietly she walks in and orders herself a big smoothie. From there she takes a seat by a window and just sips at her drink softlty.

Adrien Agreste (142) has posed:
So focused on the carbilities in his near future, Chat hadn't even noticed Gwen walking in. Nearly run into, the blonde haired young man in a black cat suit leaps up slightly, twisting to land to see what had spooked up.

If he had fur, I swear, it'd be fluffed.

"Oop! So sorry. Focused on the foodstuffs right meow," he says, stepping back to let Gwen step in ahead of him. Because that's the polite thing to do! Plus, pink magic? Shiny!

With Gwen inside and her smoothie ordered, Chat strolls in, completely unphased by whatever looks he's getting. He just swaggers his way to the counter, slitted green cat-eyes surveying the menu for the perfect treat.

"Hmm.... " he vocalizes his indecisivenes at all the options, one arm folded over his chest so the other can perch upon it allowing him to stroke his chin with the tips of clawed fingers.

"What does this kitty feline like tonight...?"

Melinda May has posed:
They're still a few minutes away from the school. May hands Cap her phone as they slow to a stop at a traffic light. "Call the kid we're supposed to meet, so she knows where and when to meet us." While May's phone is a modern smartphone, it's got an exceedingly stripped-down interface so using it should be simple for anyone.

This is a long traffic light, and May is losing patience with the traffic. Not that she'd ever show it.

Captain America has posed:
After a moment of the phone being held towards him Cap does actually grab it, looking down towards it in his hand for a long moment. "No matter how long I'm out of the ice" A light pause while he starts to dial. "Portable phones aren't going to stop impressing me."

Looking down towards the phone he says in a calm voice. "You know, roagrage isn't going to help us get there any sooner." Said with a bit of an understanding chuckle. "Well I mean it could but I don't see getting there a few seconds sooner as worth all that paperwork." A bright smirk crosses his face as he places the phone up to his ear allowing it to ring. He's still not got a cellphone of his own, so Mays is the first one he's had to use in a few weeks now.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn's phone rings and she quickly answers it. "Hello? Oh umm. Mr. Smoothie, 2 blocks from the Academy of Tomorrow. I am there. See you soon." She states giving the information to Cap. She looks at her smoothie and begins thinking outloud. "Okay. Last night I encountered several aliens who were fleeing the planet... Does that sound crazy?"

She sighs, "I swear this would be easier if Ben and Kevin were here." She mutters to herself as she continues thinking about how she is going to explain all of this.

Adrien Agreste (142) has posed:
The menu was surprisingly more healthy than Chat Noir had let his mind wander that it was going to be. Fishing a twenty from his pocket to pay for his smoothie, the black cat opts for a high sugar something with a scoop of whey protein because maintaining the sugar rush is a thing that needs to happen. So, there's orange juice and strawberries and pineapples and more strawberries and some orange juice and yum! Drink in hand, Chat's tail (It's a belt. No, really. It's a black leather belt complete with the metal rings, it just moves like a tail) curls up happily before uncurling and recurling in the other direction. He turns, both hands on the cup, happily slurping as he leans back against the counter, letting the smoothie-rista put the change from the twenty into the tip jar, giving the girl behind the counter a wink over a shoulder.

And then Gwen is talking to herself, probably too soft for anyone to hear it, but Chat's got a cat's hearing, and one of teh cat ears on his head swivels in her direction. (The ears are just leather triangles, but they move jus tlike cat ears.) His green eyes sweep toward Gwen, head tilting.

She's worried. Well, aliens invasions would DO that, but it's the fact that she's concerned that draws Chat's concern. If that worry and muttering about being alone got too overwhleming... Making his choice, Chat pushes from the counter, snags a chair on his way, and drops into it, an elbow leaning on the table as he sits sideways and props his feet up on the back of the bench she's sitting on.

"Would you settle for a Chaton instead of a Ben and a Kevin? I purromise I'm just as pawesome!"

Melinda May has posed:
May is able to overhear the phone conversation, and she will openly admit it if Steve asks. But, at the very least she gets through the intersection and finds a parking space near the Mr. Smoothie almost before Steve can really tell her where to go. Then they're out and walking toward the establishment that is ... less sugar-doom than May would have expected. She's still pretty sure that most of the menu will confuse Rogers while Stark would have a complete field day in here. Everything would have blueberries in it.

Stepping into the Mr. Smoothie, May doesn't announce herself and doesn't call out looking for Gwendolyn. She just looks around, as obvious in this place as Steve would be in the middle of Tokyo.

Captain America has posed:
"Alright we'll be right..." Cap stops in the middle of speaking as he realizes that they're already here. Giving a light nod of his head to one side Cap purses his lips together for a moment adding. "Here." As opposed to the word there which he had originally intended to say. "How do I turn this thing off?" He asks May while fiddling with the phone still not exactly understanding it. "Do I switch it to the side or is this one of those flip-downs?" About as technologically savvy as one would expect from someone that's only even been a part of this century for the better part of four years. "If I just hit this will it shut it down?" He asks while just sliding his finger across the screen finally able to shut down the call.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson snickers, "You could replace Ben but Kevin might take issue with you trying to replace him. He's my boyfriend." She snickers to the Chat. "Have a seat if you like." She notes the woman in black walking into the Mr. Smoothie. Sure she could be some Biker chick or something but she'd put her money on a SHIELD agent any day. She also sees Cap and thats a familiar face, at least to her. She gives a little wave.

As soon as they get close enough she takes a deep breath. "I will cut right to the chase, SOmething not so good is coming. I had a run in with some aliens fleeing the planet last night. They explained that a parasite like race is coming to Earth. They wanted off the planet in fear of being used against people."

Adrien Agreste (142) has posed:
Chat Noir grins, bringing his paws up at the mention of 'boyfriend'.

"No worries there. This Chaton has a Lady," he says, grinning his cheshire grin, right in her looking over at the SHIELD agents. He follows her gaze, and even though Gwen invited him to sit, he stands out of his seat.

"Seems like invitations were needed. I'm not so crass as to crash that party. Well, not right meow anyway," he says, sweeping a bow before giving Captain America and the other woman each a wink.

"Night night," he caterwails as he makes his way out, slurping down the last of his drink, tossing the empty cup into the rubbish bin, and then disappearing into the night.

Melinda May has posed:
Melinda May steps aside to let the cat-man depart, and her only reaction to his appearance and mannerisms is a brief quirk of one eyebrow, then she moves to sit near Gwenn, leaving a seat with plenty of elbow room open for Rogers.

Of course, when Gwenn says there's a parasite race coming to Earth, it's all she can do to NOT glance at the man, considering what he'd said in the car on the way here.

Captain America has posed:
Cap comes to a dead stop right on the spot when he hears about the alien invasion coming to take over earth. He starts to take in a breath to say something before falling silent the hand that has been about to be held up for some sort of speech or comment instead going right back down into place as he decides to stick with stoicism.

He does however give a friendly nod in the direction of the passing cat man, and a bit of pure bafflement at that sign just a few feet away. There's not even an inkling in his mind of what half these things are. Of course he recognizes the words but most the combinations are just completely off the wall strange causing him to quirk an eyebrow for just a moment.

"Five" is what he finally does manage to say to May, after a long moment of collecting himself back together. It's not that world ending crisis weren't important mind, but it was the frequency of them. Oh how he longed for the days of standing for sometimes hours or days at a time waiting to hold the line before getting sent off to kill the next HYDRA Yeti, or Nazi Cyborg, the days of halcyon youth. "Well Gwen, I'm glad you got hold of us, this certainly sounds like something we need to get sorted before it's too late."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson nods slowly, "Things are just really crazy. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Cap, Agent. This is just a really bad thing. The Methanosians I encountered last night. They were scared. They were going through the Bronx, stealing necessities to get off the planet. Some friends and I caught them. They paid for the things and they got off planet. I've never seen that race that freaked out before."

Melinda May has posed:
Why does May suddenly feel like she's fallen into the Men in Black movie? Rogers single-word response pretty much sums it up. "Any idea what we can do to prevent this or at least mitigate it to some degree? Clearly, the people fleeing know something about it. If we could gather intel, it would help."

Looking over at Rogers again for a moment, she turns her attention back to Gwenn. "How long have you known about this?"

Captain America has posed:
"And is there going to be a blue sky laser involved?" It sounds like a joke for a moment but he's dead serious about this as he asks, still trying to put the pieces together see if somehow these are all connected. He looks towards Gwenn with a good deal of intrest now trying to mentally psych himself back up to deal with another world ending calamity. "We'll make sure to take these things down, just need to get pointed in the right direction."

For some people? The constant fight to keep the planet safe would likely just grind them down till they were dirt. But for cap? This was his life, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson frowns, "I called you right after I found out. I swear. I wouldn't keep a threat like this quiet." She closes her eyes a moment and takes a sip of her smoothie. "They wanted clear out of the system before this threat arrives. They ran without any hesitation. That means the threat is already on it's approach. They will be clear out of the system before the end of this week. If they are on that rushed time table... Its coming soon." She frowns.

Melinda May has posed:
"Then get in contact with anyone you can that will have an idea about this. If it's going to be here that quickly, we have close to zero time to prepare a defense." Yes, May knows she's putting a rather heavy burden on the kid's shoulders, but as far as she's aware of currently, Gwenn is the only alien-whisperer known to SHIELD. And possibly not even that. Not yet.

"Rogers, is there anything you can think of here?"

Captain America has posed:
Rogers thinks for a long moment his hand moving to rest on his chin as he looks towards the ground. "I have one idea." He speaks finally looking back up. "It's risky." He starts placing his hands down towards his sides. "But I think in this case honesty is the best policy." He nods his head down slightly. "I think we should spread the word out as far as we can, we've got enough super powered people in America alone that we should be able to kick these aliens right back to where they came from without a problem. Just need to get the word out to enough people and before you know it we'll have an armada of super powered people ready to kick them right back to planet X."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson looks at May and nods, "Permission to put together a team? I know I'm not an official agent, just a consultant, but I would like to set up a little team to work on this problem." She frowns. As much as she wants to be on a proper team, This is dangerous. She rubs the back of her head.

Then Cap speaks up. "Captain, We have no idea what we are looking for. The only information I have on these creatures is that the name the Methanosians had for these creatures couldn't be translated to English. The closest name they had for it was Parasite. As such, We have no idea what these creatures are or what to look for in them. If we tell the world that evil aliens are coming and that no one knows what they look like, people are going to turn on each other. On top of this, any aliens on earth will be under a microscope and violence could erupt towards us... them. Sorry."

Melinda May has posed:
"I have to agree with Tennyson, Rogers. That's a recipe for panic." And it's not helping May's thought processes that the closest translation Gwenn managed to get is 'parasite'. That makes her think of all sorts of unfortunate possibilities. The Goa'uld, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the Trill...

"Do it. Get your team, and keep in contact with me. I'll authorize temporary asset status for the others if need be." WHich means having to justify it to the powers that be, but if she can get Coulson to help her with that it's doable.

Captain America has posed:
Steve blinks a few times before the realization of the ramifications of what he's just said hits him. He thinks for a moment before just saying "Didn't mean right away, of course we need to gather lintel first, I just feel that if we can get clear info it might be good policy to call out the stops to make sure they aren't a problem." He's visibly not on his A game as he speaks something niggling his attention right at the back of his mind as he looks back up towards that massive billboard.

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson nods slowly, "I will speak with every contact I have. I might have to call in a favor with my Grandpa. If there is anyone who might know what these things are its him. You could have possibly heard his name before, Max Tennyson. He's more with SWORD though. Anyway, I think, I am going to get my cousin involved." She nods, "Oh umm. About what I said. I'm an Anodite. Don't worry. The others like me typically are fun loving and won't cause much grief."

Melinda May has posed:
May files the name Max Tennyson into her memory, and raises her eyebrows when Gwenn admits to being a non-human. "Make sure you keep your resident visa up to date." She says it in a way that makes it sounds completely serious, but she's got to be joking. Right? Hopefully?

"Is there anything else you can think of?" She also glances at Steve, to see if he has any questions left for Gwenn.

Captain America has posed:
"Long as you went through the proper channels you're an American same as any of us." Cap states with a smile before suddenly putting a single hand up to the side of his head. He might not have a cellular phone but he does have a nice little earpiece that SHIELD can route messages through although it's not exactly as precises as a cellphone and he can't exactly choose numbers to call it's still pretty good.

Cap looks over towards may and for a long moment he's silent before he speaks up saying just one word, just one "Six."

Gwenn Tennyson (232) has posed:
Gwenn Tennyson looks at Cap and May, "I was born on Earth, In one of the suburbs of New York City. My Grandma came here." She snickers a little. "Anyway I will keep in touch with you all. If I am going to get any information I can't do it from here. Going to get somethings organized. She stands up and grabs her smoothie. "Oh! Try the Smoothies here. They are really good." With that she waves and heads out.

Melinda May has posed:
May watches Gwendolyn leave, then looks at Steve as she stands as well. "Did you say six?" She sighs. "Fine. We should head back to base." She gives the establishment's menu one last glance. "If you want a smoothie, better get it now."

Captain America has posed:
Cap stands there silent for a moment looking to his left, then to his right, and very professionally respectably runs over to the front counter and just calls out a quick order for a vanilla banana smoothie, large. He doesn't even wait for a second moment before just putting down the cash and getting his smoothie right on the spot. A quick turn around as he's got it held up to his mouth sipping away before going right back to being serious with a light cough under his breath. "Let's roll."
