Take off! For the Great White North! Take off! It's a beauty way to go! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jm4LoOaAWI
It's a cold crisp today in the Great White North, too cold and crisp even for the Polar Bears to be out and about in the immediate area. Not that they would be about as there is an explosion of light and sound as a Boom Tube opens. Thunder cracks across the clear skies as ice and snow swirl in a blinding, glowing calamity as the pair arrive.

He is very oriented towards pleasing here. She said she wanted to train, and there are 4 boulders arranged, each about 100 feet from the next in a good sized square. Power boy pulls in a cold breath and the tube smashes closed behind her. His feet crunch as he walks over to a small radio. He presses play, and 'House of Pain' begins to play. "This is yuor house of Pain." He cannot hide the grin due to the music, his breath turning to cold mist as he speaks. Dork.
His features quickly darken. "Here. I am going to teach you to correct your fighting form, and to fight to win. Now, whether or not you use the techniques we are going to use is up to you. But the first thing to teach you is a couple of punching and elbow combinations, and to use those amazing legs of yours to gain space, power, and to devastate opponents. We have a tap out, and a code word. If you want to stop? If you need to stop, you say Space Boys are sexy. Okay?" He actually blushes a little.

Supergirl has posed:
Kara blows out a breath and looks from the boulders to Power Boy. She swings her arms a little as she adjusts to the chill and sunshine. She places a hand on her hip when he says the tap out phrase and shakes her head. "Barbarian. What ever happened to good old fashioned "stop"?" She wonders with a small smile tucked into one corner of her lips before she rolls her shoulders and walks over to the boulders. "Ok. So we're punching these? Am I supposed to hold back or do you want gravel?" She asks, determined to learn well.

Power Boy has posed:
"No space girl." Power Boy replies. "First, I want to get used to punching a person-shaped target, as placement matters. Second, those boulders had to be be trucked a couple of hundred miles. It was kind of a pain." Not really. "But I just don't want to set up another house of pain every time. So we are going to start with you punching into my hand. Okay. Left foot forward. Get low." He slides his left foot forward and lowers a bit. "Left hand up to catch. Right hand back to punch. You operate at regular speeds. I will move faster to avoid being hurt. Over time, we will start training at superspeed. You'll be a wrecking machine in a few months." He moves to put her in position. He says. Watch me." Her performs a punch. It is fast. "Notice I am using my hips, my abdomen, my chest, my back and my arm. A good punch uses the whole body. All your power, Kara, is in your hips. its your center of gravity. I want to you to get that power into your punches." He holds up his left hand. "(Alien word!)" Apparently it means 'go!'

Supergirl has posed:
Studying Power Boy's form, Kara carefully makes a fist and settles her feet apart. "I mean, I get the basics. I'm not that bad at it, am I?" She asks and studies his face as she gets her arms up. Her elbows point out a little, shoulders hunched a bit like she's seen Earth boxers do. She throws a slow punch, trying to figure out how to move like he does. "Considering I wasn't raised to be in a warrior caste I mean." She adds on before he can tell her just how lazy it is to rely on strength alone.

Power Boy has posed:
"Square your shoulders." He snaps. "If you are not warrior caste, why are you fighting?" he snaps. Power Boy leans a foot out, lightning quick, to correct her foot placement, attempting to sweep her off her feet, literally.
His left hand snaps out to catch her before she falls and hits her tush on the ice, not because she cannot handle it but because he cares. "No more of this caste stuff. If we are dating? Courting? Whatever? You are abandoning that. You are both a warrior and a cleric. What did they call them here? Paladin?" He asks. "Reimagine yourself, and lets get to work. Wider! Lower! More power. I want it coming from your hips, up to your fest. i want you to feel like every erg of your being is punching. And you aim the end of your punch all the way through my face at the back of my head. You punch with -everything- and you try to punch through me. Are you here to protect your cousin? When Darkseid comes for me and Kal are you going to let him kill us both, or are you going to cave in his face?"
He's trying to psyche her up. His tone is enthusiastic and encouraging.

Supergirl has posed:
Kara scowls, straightening and throwing a punch at him with more focus. "Look- I'm trying, but I can't give up being Kryptonian over night-I don't want to forget my home." She curls her fists tighter. "Kal doesn't need my protection, I was sent here for no reason it seems. Stupid debris." She punches again. It's easier not to focus on his face. She'd feel guilty punching at him, so she hones in on his hands. "I was a scientist-sort of. Cleric, what even is that?"

Power Boy has posed:
"Then be a scholar and a scientist, as well as a warrior. Stark does it. Captain America is some sort of artist and warrior. Black Knight is apparently a warrior and a scientist. I'm not dumb, am I?" He corrects her. "Punch out my eyes. You want to put those knuckles through my face and touch the back of my head." He keeps catching her fist. Each punch seems to satisfy him more. his critiques getting shorter. His compliments coming in now and then. "Like that!" He says after one she could feel. "Throw two more just like that!" he's excited. It isn't hard. It's more just getting the feel for it.
"You one day might have to protect -me- Kara." He tells her quietly. "The world loves your kind. it hates mine. I have three whole friends in the world, not including Kirby."

Supergirl has posed:
"You know I'd protect you, besides, you could almost be like a Kryptonian." Kara points out. "Better than a Daxomite." She huffs and settles into a rhythm, still avoiding his face. She just can't bring herself to strike anywhere that might seriously hurt him. "Everyone keeps saying I can be anything I like. But I-that's a lot and I can't just do that over night can I? I know it's hard to change my thinking, same as you."

Power Boy has posed:
"You have better senses, but and heat beams. I have constructs. You have better control. I have to worry about losing myself in other emotions, but I can superspeed my limits when I do so." he gives her a look, "Punch at my face!" He gives her a look. "Right here. Do it! As long as you do not go full speed, I can avoid it!"
He frowns a bit, then he kicks into their full speed. She can perceive it, but they are fast. He makes a superspeed snow angel and gets back into position before her punch connects with his fist.
His smile is soft. "And you might have to protect me. Someday he will come for me, and make no bones about it. He is far more powerful than you or I am."

Supergirl has posed:
"I don't want to hit your face, you have a nice face." Kara protests and breaks away, shaking out her arms. "Why would he ever come back with four Kryptonians-five if you count Superboy-defending the Earth?" She asks and stretches a little, balking from the intensity of their training.

Power Boy has posed:
She really isn't warrior caste. Power Boy frowns at her, crossing his arms over his chest. 'Well. He'd love to have a trio of Kryptonian concubines. Though I think he says you will be the lowest ranking of them." Power Boy draws in a breath, watching his breath turn into misty puffs in the cold as he speaks.
"The fact you cannot comprehend the nature of true evil makes me care more about you. It also makes me more ashamed that as naive as I am about some things, I am not the person you are." He's starting to get down on himself. "He's evil. He is vanity. Pride. Power. Maybe even Evil personified. You slighted him. You bested him. You showed it could happen. If you ruled through fear, wouldn't you crush hope." He points at her shield to prove his point.

Supergirl has posed:
Looking down at her shield, Kara makes a face. "It's a family crest. It only means hope on this planet because humans don't read Kryptonian." She crosses her arms over her chest, looking up at the sky. "I don't like having to hurt other people to protect this planet, that's true enough, but, I kind of hoped learning how to fight properly might help me to hurt less, you know. I don't want to resort to throwing people through walls or breaking limps. It feels...awful." She confides, looking to Power Boy and slumping her shoulders.

Power Boy has posed:
That makes him smile. "So, it is better to cause massive property damage and to risk other lives because you do not want to hurt people?" His hand reaches for hers. "best person on the planet. you humble me. You shame me. I want you to to use your big brain of yours, and i want you to determine the risk to innocents that you eliminate by ending a fight decisively in three moves rather than six? After you determine that, realize that I will teach you to end it in one, and you can forgoes the finishing moves I know to kill my foes/" Power Boy gives her a look. "Do not think of it as hurting your foe. Think of it as managing and diminishing risk to yourself and others in a pro-active matter. I'm not going to teach you to kill people. i am going to teach you to end fights with temporary, but fight-ending injuries." His blue eyes are intent. He offers her a hand. "Lets go get warm? I can make cocoa at my place?"
