Synopsis: A bit of testing to be sure all is well featuring several members of the Titans.
Cast of Characters: Miss Martian, Supergirl, Power Girl

Miss Martian has posed:
It is the following day and M'gann is up and waiting for Supergirl. She hopes Robin and Wonder Girl will also be joining as they said, but given how often things happen with heroes, one can not count on them always keeping appintments. She waits in the lound in Titans Tower, studying human language reading. It is so shallow, Martian Ideograms contain extra layers of telepathic information below the surface meaning...and thus take up far less volume.

Supergirl has posed:
After Supergirl related M'Gann's request to her adoptive parents, the doctors Danvers were thrilled at the chance to help the martian girl out. They even let Kara take a day off from school so she could be with her new friend in hopes of keeping M'gann at ease. So, Supergirl is at Titans Tower at the proscribed meeting time, finding only M'gann there. Kara smiles and waves to the green girl. "Well, they're all set at STAR Labs. Are you ready to go?" Noting the absence of the others, kara smiles and give M'gann a reassuring hug. "I'm sure the others just couldn't make it becasue of school or other responsibilities."

Power Girl has posed:
Donna is in full armor as she walks up behind M'gann, who is reading. "Still trying to learn about humans, are you?" She says with a laugh. "The best way I can tell you to learn, is to experience." She then looks to Supergirl. "I'm ready. I'm just going to be guarding M'gann....just in case." She says before looking to M'gann....and putting a hand on her shoulder...and giving a reassuring squeeze.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "I will go, though I am still less than certain about this, I think it is necessary to learn what we can about how my powers function." She is Glad Donna is along, the Amazon and Kryptonian have different weaknesses than she does, between the three of them they are likely to be able to handle any threats that arise.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl mirrors Wonder Girl and comfortingly pats M'gann on the shoulder. "Superman trusts these people. And so do I. Give them a chance and you'll see." And, emotionally, Supergirl does trust these two completely. Which might be reassuring for any empaths. "Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers are two of the world's leading scientists on exo-biology and astrophysics. You're in good hands."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann steps outside and takes to the air. One thing she does not know is how fast she can fly...but given how little skill she has at flying so far, she has no intention of tryoing for any speed records. She will just fllow Kara and stick pretty much to a strait line. She does know that Supergirl trusts these scientists...but tried hard not to read deeper than that. Kara should know M'gann still has not mastered touch shielding.

Power Girl has posed:
Wonder Girl Is right being M'gann, but she's letting Supergirl lead the way to Star Labs. She does keep an eye on M'gann though....

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl leads her teammates straight for Metropolis, and STAR Labs. It's a quick flight, and there's not much to talk about on the way from Nassau County. When the trio arrives, landing outside the entrance to the building, they are greeted by two scientists, a man and a woman, both looking to be in their middle age. The man is tall, with short cut black hair and glasses, and the woman has long blonde hair and a serene, motherly face. Supergirl leads M'gann and Donna to the pair, smiling. "Miss Martian. Wonder Girl. This is Dr. Jeremiah Danvers and Dr. Eliza Danvers. They're the scientists I was talking about and they're going to take good care of you, Miss Martian." Both Jeremiah and Eliza offer their hands in greeting, with Eliza saying, "It's wonderful to meet you both. We're so glad that we're able to help you out, Miss Martian."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann tries to figure out the right greeting, "Thank you, Doctors Danvers. I have discovered a number of things since I arrived on this world last week. For one thing, I can not fly on Mars, nor am I as strong or tough. Then there is my...problem. I assume Supergirl has briefed you on that?" Fire, that is her problem...well other than ;lack of experience anyway.

Power Girl has posed:
Wonder Girl is standing behind them and looking somewhat imposing in her full armor. She doesn't say much, but does listen to them both.

The strange thing to the assembled titans, is that a blonde walks through the area, in a lab coat, heels, glasses and her hair up in a bun. other than those little details, she could very well be an older version.....of Supergirl.

Supergirl has posed:
The passing of the blonde woman does catch Supergirl's attention; not becasue the scientist reminds her of herself, but becasue the woman looks similar to her mother, Alura. But that's impossible...Kara shakes her head and returns to the matter at hand.

Eliza nods to Miss Martian. "Yes. You said you were having issues with picking up stray thoughts and focusing with many people around. And also fire."

Jeremiah chimes in. "We prepared a special lab to work with you. MOstly scans and monitoring while you perform physical tasks..."

Eliza gets an appologetic look on her face as she finishes up. "But I will need to take some blood and possibly tissue samples. I promise, they'll be destroyed once the analysis is complete."

For her part, Supergirl gently puts a hand on M'gann's shoulder, smilng as the Danvers do their pitch.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann frowns, but nods slowly, she senses no ill intent from these two, so she will allow them to proceed. Of course, attempring to get a cell sample from someone whose shin can stop a tank shell may prove a bit tricky.

Supergirl has posed:
The Danvers lead the group through a brief security kiosk, where everyone is signed in. Then, the party goes to a sterile room before Jeremiah leads the others out so that Eliza can do a basic physical examination of M'gann in privacy. The exobiologist also uses a mudical device that looks like an energy pistol to take the blood and skin samples. "It produces a localized nulification field," she explains to M'gann. "So, the part of your body that the samples are being taken from temporarily is de-powered." In this case, a small patch of M'gann's skin on her arm. "It doesn't work on a full sized body, something about conflicting resonnances in the field emitters. But, it's helpful for working with someone with indestructable skin." And aside from a brief prick of pain and a numbness that soon fades away, there's no lingering effects.

While Eliza starts running her tests on the biological samples, jeremiah takes the group to the prepared lab. Several emitters are placed around the large, 50' by 50' room; some designed to scan and record, some designed to create specific conditions. There's also several super-dense sets of weights. Jeremiah leads Supergirl up to the control room, the uses the intercom after turning things on. "Okay, Miss Martian. Just go ahead and start flying or lifting or whatever you feel like doing."

Power Girl has posed:
Donna listens quietly, so she doesn't see the blonde walking by. She listens quietly to the Danver's and just...looks mean.

Miss Martian has posed:
The first thing Eliza learns is that M'gann's cells are not primarily made of free water like the cells of Earth creatures, but are instead filled with some kind of oil. Something stable at a much lower tenperature than water, which makes senseas winter at the south pole of Mars can get to below the freezing point of carbon dioxide. The oil is quite flammable, which probably explains Martians being vulnerable to fire.

M'gann decides to start with the weights...Lifting Weights is pretty much the same with or without super strength. M'gann has a top lifting under the base lab conditions of roughly 500 tons, but might be able to lift more under extreme stress.

Supergirl has posed:
Information is gathered by the sensors, and Jerimiah monitors the input and results. He also takes note of the results that his wife sends regarding M'gann's physiology. After a few minutes, Jeremiah uses the intercom. "Okay, Miss Martian; you're doing fine. I'm going to start slowly altering the lab's environmental settings until they line up with the environment on Mars, as we know it. Just keep doing all that." And slowly, the room does start to change in temperature, humidity, and even gravity, over the course of the next several minutes.

Power Girl has posed:
It's right about then that the blonde woman walks into the lab monitoring area to assist the Danvers with Miss Martian. She adjusts her glasses as she walks by Supergirl, but also monitors M'gann. "You know there's less oxygen on mars, right Dr. Danvers?" she says softly. If Supergirl decides to look her over, she'll find her nametag is 'Karen Starr, Xenobiologist', and that she's certified to be part of S.T.A.R. Labs.

Miss Martian has posed:
Cold has no effect on Miss Martian...her body is built for it. Humidity also has not noticable effect. Gravity has the normal effect, allowing her to lift even more due to reduced resistance. Reducing the water content of the air likewise has no effect.

When Dr. Starr speaks, M'gann concentrates on her for a moment and gets a strange telepathic resonance. She frowns and tries to decidewhether to investigate. The Suggestion the Xenobiologist makes seems reasonable though...

Supergirl has posed:
Jeremiah nods to Doctor Starr. "Of course. That's being factored in." And he goes back to focusing on the tests for Miss Martian. "Are you okay there?" he asks as M'gann gets that telepathic resonance. "Anything wrong?"

Supergirl looks over at the blonde scientist, moving a bit closer to the woman. She can't help it, but Kara is staring at the blonde scientist.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann shakes his head and says, "It is odd, it is like Miss Starr and Supergirl are the same person, they think so much alike, it is like an echo."

When Jeremiah starts lowering the air pressure or oxygen content the first notable effect is observed. At Mars normal pressure and oxygen levels, M'gann is weak enough to be barely able to stand under Earth Gravity...about what you would expect for a Martian in Earth Gravity.

Power Girl has posed:
Dr. Starr watches all of this and lets out a breath. "Mmm....that explains a few things. Miss M'orzz body chemistry is based on oil, rather than water, due to the lack of water on Mars. So her fear of fire is not just psychological, it's physical. If she's touched by fire, she'll likely go up like a dry tinderbox. And there's less chemical reactions on Mars, since making water is a reaction of Hydrogen and Oxygen with a spark causing the reaction. So Mars with less oxygen is likely going to have more use for oil rather than water." She then looks to Supergirl and makes it a point to WINK at the woman.

Supergirl has posed:
The wink from Dr. Starr catches Supergirl off guard. Kara blinks in confusion, with M'gann's statement making things extra confusing for her. Jeremiah looks between the two blonde a moment before returning to his task. "Okay, Miss Martian, I'm going to increase the psychic screening so you don't get any more interference. Sorry about that." There's a few adjustments, the psychic feedback subsiding, then vanishing, and Jeremiah uses the intercom again. "Is that better?"

While Jeremiah works with M'gann, Kara steps over to Dr. Starr. "Do...you know me?"

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann M'orzz says, "Once Eliza knows what kind of thing she is looking for...at least in part, she begind examining molecules that are reactive to Oxygen, especially ones that are unique. There are occasional life forms on earth that do not survive contact with oxygen, things that live inside ocean vents and the like. She has to perform the first set of tests under mars normal atmospherc conditions and then perform a series of sequential tests under progressively higher pressure and partial pressure of air to determine what is reacting.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann apprecites the screening. She wonders if such resonance is common among humans...well obviously not too common as it is the firrst case she has encountered. She responds, "Yes, better, thank you."

Power Girl has posed:
"More than you realize, Supergirl. But I'm not the reason why you're here. M'gann is." Karen says with a smile. "Or, she's the reason you came here. I just happened to be here." She says after she switches off the microphone. "Did you happen to have any sort of check-ups when you came to earth?" Dr. Starr asks.

Supergirl has posed:
"Well...of course I did," Supergirl replies, still very much confused. "Superman brought me to the Danvers and they examined me." There's other things like the trip to the Fortress and that the Danvers took kara in, but that doesn't need to be known. "Why do you ask?"

Miss Martian has posed:
Eliza finds a possible suspect, something that quickly bonds to oxygen to assume a different form, but it does not seem to have any effect on the metabolism. In fact. it is rather strange in that it has no apparent effect in either form. That bothers Eliza, anything found in a cell should hve some use to the creature. Perhaps the use is not something they can easily detect. Didn't they say the Martian can shift forms? Perhaps it hasan effect on abilities she has not yet demonstrated.

Power Girl has posed:
"Likely, someone took some blood, or a swab of your saliva, or something like that from you, Supergirl. I have a lot to explain, Kara Zor-El. For the moment, know that an anti-alien group tried to take out Superman.....and failed." Karen says in a hushed tone that only Supergirl can hear.

Miss Martian has posed:
Eliza says, "Dr. Starr, would you come look at this, I have found something unusual." She shows you the results of her tests so far, "I have not encountered anything like this, and am unable to determine a metabolic purpose for it, but it seems to the the substance that most directly corresponds to the added abilities Miss Martian has demonstrated."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl has complletely forgotten about M'gann's testing now, and the words from Dr. Starr are just causing more confusion. "Wait...what are you talking about?" There's an answer that Kara isn't seeing; doesn't want to see. And she's blinded by the trust she's placed in the only two humans that would have had access to things like tissue samples. "I don't...don't understand. What do you mean, 'tried to take out Superman'?"

Power Girl has posed:
Karen looks at the results of the tests and seems to think on it for a moment. "Put an object in the area with Miss M'orzz. I have an idea, especially with some of these anamolous results you're getting on the side, and her telepathic abilities." She says before looking back to Kara, and speaking in a tone only she can hear. "As in 'try to beat the holy hell out of him, make him give up, and either kill him or drive him off the planet.'"

Miss Martian has posed:
Eliza points out, "There are a number of objects in with her already. Mostly the weights we were using to test her strength. What did you have in mind?"

M'gann is working on demonstrating the abilities she has under Martian conditions. Her shape-shifting, her camouflage abilities, and her agolity to disperse her mass.

Supergirl has posed:
The tests continue on a while longer, and then Jeremiah flips on the intercom. "Okay. I think that we have enough testing information to start with now. Returning the lab to normal Earth conditions. How are you feeling, Miss martian?"

The inaudible tone. The close resemblance. The talk of tissue samples and something fighting Superman...Supergirl's hear beats faster and she's in a panic, eyes wide. "Who are you?" she asks the blonde woman. "Wha...*what* are you?"

Miss Martian has posed:
M'Gann senses that someone has some other test in mind and waits before leaving.

Power Girl has posed:
Karen places a hand on Supergirl's shoulder and sighs. "Calm down. I don't want you to panic, but I do want you 'aware' of what has happened." She says softly, looking over her shoulder at the Danvers. "Who I am is Karen Starr, as my tag says. Before a month ago, I was known as Galatea....of Project Cadmus." She then holds up a finger to stop Supergirl. "Do not call me Galatea. the only people that know me as that name, other than you or any of the Justice League is Cadmus....and I will react with great hostility."

She then takes another breath. "I am a Clone.....of you, Kara Danvers. Yes...Cadmus knows of your parents. They also know of Superman's and many of the real identities of the Justice League, but they are primarily anti-alien. Which means Wonder Girl is not 'AS' big of a risk to them as M'gann. SO they cloned me to be their 'perfect little pet' so they could take out the aliens they saw as a 'threat'. It ended up being that their version of 'threat' meant 'those they couldn't control'. I broke out of their little mold and developed my own little personality that they couldn't touch. I went along with their charade and fought Superman, but....as I fought Superman....I talked to him. Got see the measure of the man, instead of the 'alien', which....technically...I was related to. The more I fought him, the more I admired him, and....eventually...we stopped fighting....even as my 'masters' ordered me to kill him. When I didn't, they tried to kill us both....and we sent the missile into space. It was after that Superman helped me renew my identity as Karen Starr. And I even have a degree in Xenobiology. But I did remember that whoever got your sample.....it wasn't directly from the Danvers' hands. Someone either stole it, or they had direct access. So that's part of the reason why I'm here. I've already investigated the Danvers and they're clean. It's someone ELSE in STAR labs, and I'm trying to find out who."

She then smiles to Supergirl. "And before you worry too much, I work with Superman in the Justice League. Superman himself cleared me."

Power Girl has posed:
Dr. Starr then looks to the Danvers. "Can you get her to lift objects with her mind, then pass through some of the denser stuff, like walls? that might be the anomalies you're getting.

Supergirl has posed:
A clone. The words ring in Kara's ears and she feels dizzy. She actually stumbles a bit and has to grab onto a table for ballance, crushing the edge. Jeremiah looks over at Supergirl, concern all over his face. "Supergirl? Are you alright?" But it's clear that she's not allright. Supergil looks like she's taken a gut punch and has had all the air knocked out of her.

"I...I..." Kara fights for breath, trying to deal with the rising panic inside her. "I need to go....get some air..." And in a stunned daze, she starts leaving the lab. She takes a moment to turn to Jerimiah, and tells him, "Just keep going with the tests. Help M'gann out..." Another look of shock at Dr. Starr, and then Supergril flies out of the lab at super-speed, headin out and away. Somewhere. Anywhere.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann gets the request and replies, "I can not generally lick things up with my mind or anything like that...the closest thing I can do is this." She Picks up a parbell and throws it into the air, then creates a flrce blast to puh it up. She is trying to keep it balanced but not doing very well.

Power Girl has posed:
"All right. I thought, with telepathy, that you'd have Psychokinetic abilities too. I was Mostly trying to see your limits, but we have plenty of data for now. Do you mind if we call you back for more tests later on?" Dr. Starr says into the Mic.

Wonder Girl has wandered out to look for Supergirl.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says with a frown, "I have no idea how I fly or produce thoseforse blasts, perhaps they are psychokinetic powers."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl says, "Perhaps." Dr. Starr says. "That's why I asked to bring you back in for more tests. Using your powers like this is exhausting if you're inexperienced with them. So, We're going to try and let you cut loose a little bit with your powers here, in a...hopefully, safe environment." She then clicks off the mic and wanders her way into the dome area with M'gann. "it's possible those are your Psychokinetic powers, but if we can, help you test your limits." She then tilts her head. "This also means playing with fire occasionally. You will freak, but I do promise that we'll put you out before any major damage is done." As she explains this, she picks up one of the heavy barbells and tosses it aside like it was made of balloons."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann nods...then thinks a moment, "Phychokinesis is movint thngs mentally, right. Could I be moving myself mentally? Could that give me added strength and toughness?"

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl says, "Well...that was one of the tests. I wanted you to see if you could go through one of the objects.....and then become super dense....to force something to expand and 'explode' away from you because you're suddenly so much denser than it is. but that's for another time.""

Miss Martian has posed:
"I can do the going through things, but my density is generrally limited by my current form. I really do not have much practice with that aspect of my powers," replies M'gann.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl says, "Well....that's what we're here for, M'gann. We'll help you test them, test your limits, push them if need be and maybe develop new powers." She then sighs a bit as she flips a switch. "Also, Supergirl may need you as a bit of a rock for the next few days....""

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "I could not help but notice Supergirl flew out fasat and looked upset. I was wondering if you could explain why?"

Power Girl has posed:
"Yeah. She was asking me questions because I looked so much like her, M'gann." Karen says looking to her. "I look a lot like her....because there's an anti alien group called Cadmus......that cloned Supergirl to be their 'weapon' against aliens like Superman. And I'm the clone." she then sighs. "I think it made her panic because someone cloned her. I just hope she doesn't suspect her parents, because they didn't do it."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "Perhaps there are more specific reasons why it is upsetting, though I would not know them."

Power Girl has posed:
"I wouldn't either. Still. I am her clone. Aged to make myself look like an older version of her, but I am." Karen then smiles. "before you wonder, I AM with the Justice League, and Superman is the one who gave me the name of Karen Starr."

Miss Martian has posed:
"I have very little idea what you are talking about, I am restricting myself to learning from earthly literature and mass media...it is far slower than learning from minds or Ideograms, but much more polite," M'gann explains. She has heard Supergirl mention Superman, but has little more than that.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl says, "The Justice League is a group of superheroes, like you and I, that try to help people when they are able. From the little problems they can't handle themselves, to the bigger problems like saving the world."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann frowns thoughtfully, "So like the titans, but more experienced?"

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl says, "Something like that. If you call being only two months old, 'experienced'. I do know that someone, other than the Danvers', was able to get Supergirl's DNA sample from STAR Labs, and was able to get it to a remote location to make a clone. And I want to find out who." She then tilts her head. "it's also why I want to push your limits so quickly, M'gann. It's VERY likely Cadmus will come after you, as they did Superman.""

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann frowns, "That will require thought. I need to learn so much basic stuff, I am not sure pushing my limits is a good idea. You need to lay the foundation before you raise the tower."
