Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez)

Supergirl has posed:
Even when the day is realtively tranquil like today, the waters around Hell's Gate in Metropolis can be treacherous. Especially so for large shipping vessels. The S.S. Baltic Star is a supercontainer, making it's way into Metropolis laden with shipping containers filled with goods from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. And, unfortunately, the captain had quite a bit of ouzo earlier in the day, making his reactions sluggish. The massive ship slides towards the entrance to Metropolis Harbor, only to have alarm klaxons sound at it approaches the dangerous shoals near the islands at the harbor's head. In the chaos consuming the bridge, the crew tries to steer the massive ship away, but a sudden impact and screaching sound of tearing metal on the jagged rocks signals the futility of the evasive manuevers. The huge ship is taking on water and listing to the side, threatening to spill it's cargo containers into the sea.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena has been doing her best of late to be more accessable to the surface world. Its a very trying thing. Very difficult for the girl who has spent several years beneath the waves with Atlanteans and others like her. So to be on the surface so much tends to be a little taxing. Today, she was hoping to take a little break. She was just relaxing near the shoals. At least, that was before a massive vessel decided to take a short cut and wind up in dangerous waters. "Ugh, Surface Dwellers. Seriously?" She quickly begins swimming toward ths ship.

Supergirl has posed:
There's a panic on deck as the angle of list slowly increases. Some of the sailors are sliding on the deck, barely grasping ropes and railings to hang on. Cables lashing down cargo containers are starting to fray and snap under the stress. A few sailors lose their grip and footing, falling into the water.

Suddenly, there's another shudder as something impacts the ship. Or *someone*, as the case may be. Miraculously, the list of the ship begins to reverse, inch by inch, then foot by foot. As the deck once again becomes level, crewmen race to the side railing to see what's happening.

There, setting her back against the gigantic ship and using incalculable might to keep the ship righted, ios Supergirl. The Girl of Steel looks up to see the men staring down at her, some taking pictures. "Everyone," she says in a calm but strained voice. "I think it would be a good idea to abandon ship. I don't know how much longer I can hold this side up. And there's still a gigantic hole in the hull, leaking water."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Suddenly the ship would be a lot easier to lift and maneuver. It starts to move toward the shore. Underwater, Lorena is helping to stabilize the ship. She's not as strong as the Kryptonian girl but the heck if she can't help. Whats more, A school of mixed fish are starting to swim around the vessel, pushing it toward the shore. With all of this going on one might assume The girl of steal has Aquaman in the water helping her. Not the case. Then again actually seeing her would be really difficult. "I don't know if you can hear me but, This is Aquagirl. I'm under the ship. I have some friendsh elping to move the ship."

Supergirl has posed:
With super-hearing and super-vision, it's not all that difficult for Supergirl to hear and see Aquagirl. She sighs in relief and nods her thanks. "I can hear you Aquagirl. If your friends can hold the ship, I can make a quick patch job. Then we can get this boat into drydock.

Once bigger sea creatures arrive to aid the stabilizing of the ship, Supergirl carefully eases up her lifting efforts, then flies down below the waterline. She makes for the hole in the ship's side, pulling the ruptured metal segments back into position. Then, a repair weld is quickly made with her heat vision, the intense temperature causing the water around the welding bubble and steam. Soon, the teamwork has yeilded positive results, and the ship can be moved away from the rocky shoals of the islands and into a clear channel leading to the safety of Metropolis Harbor.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods as she can hear Supergirl, just barely. THere is a lot of moaning and groaning coming from the ship afterall. Not to mention the shouts from the vessel. Still she continues to do her best to maintain the vessel and to keep her telepathy going.

Speaking of which, a number of larger sealife make their way to the boat. Sharks, Seals, Dolphins, and... Even a Narwall has made the journey. All in all its enough to keep the ship from going under.

As the ship is patched, the vessel is moved as quick as the sealife can move it. They begin pushing it towards the shore and to safety. Once safe, the Sealife disperses. Amazingly none of the sharks snag a snack though the narwal accidentally does shishkabob a seabass.

Supergirl has posed:
Once she's done with the patch job, Supergirl helps to push and guide the massive ship to safety. Also, Metropolis Harbor Patrol arrive with tugs and rescue boats to bring the ship in. Once the ship is safe, Supergirl flies back some, waving to the cheering crewmen assembled on the decks of the various ships now involved. And then, she flies back to where she last saw Aquagirl, hovering over the water and looking for the other heroine involved in the rescue.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Aquagirl remained with the ship, helping to move it as it moved. Underwater she is pretty darn fast. As soon as the ship is in position, she surfaces and gives a little salute to the Sailors. Then she dives underwater and swims her way out towards the Shoals again. She does see the girl of steel looking for her and she gives a little wave. "Good work!" She states as she finds a rock to sit on for now.

Supergirl has posed:
"Good work by you too," Supergirl says with a smile. She doesn't need to sit on the rock, just floating in the air nearby. "That was some quick thinking, calling in the big guys like that. It freed me up to do the patch weld." She pauses for a bit, then laughs at herself. "Manners...I'm Supergirl. But, you probably already knew that..." She indicates the S symbol. "And you said your name was Aquagirl? Are you Aquaman's cousin or niece?" That's usually how the sidekick thing goes...

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez laughs, "Anything to help. I'm trying to actually help out more and get better acquanted with the surface world and help out where I can." She blushes. "Sorry. I am still getting used to this stuff." She pauses and smiles a little and gives a nod. "Its nice to meet you Supergirl. Yes I am Aquagirl. No. I am not related to Aquaman. I'm sorta complicated. He is a good friend though. I took on the name because he sorta inspired me." She doesn't really look like an Atlantean.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl isn't totally sure what all Atlanteans look like, anyways. But she nods to the other heroine. "Well, you definately helped save the day today, Aquagirl. And if you're looking for companions on the surface world...There is a group I'm a part of called the Titans. We're all about the same age, younger than the Justice Leage. I'm sure you'd make a great addition to the team."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "Really? You'd want me as part of your team? That would be pretty cool I think. If you really want me to join I would definitely be interested. I mean, I guess I could tell you what I can do stuff." She snickers.

Supergirl has posed:
"Well, I'm not in charge of the team," Supergirl says. "But, I can run it past the others and maybe arrange a time for you to introduce yourself to the team? And, we're also based on an island off the coast of Nantucket. So, that's pretty accessable for you, right?"

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez Nods, "Oh yeah. I can be out of the water for about 2 days before it starts to affect me. If I stay out too long, I'm toast." She frowns over that. "Sure though! I am definitely interested. Give me the time for the visit and I can be there. Heck get word to Aquaman and he will get word to me. Sea Mail is pretty fast for those of us who can can talk to sealife." She snickers.

Supergirl has posed:
"Fantastic!" Supergirl says. "I'll run it by the team and get in touch with you..." her head whips around to look back at Metropolis. There's an alarm going off in the Central Business District that got her attention. "And there's the call for a job for Supergirl," she says with a slight smirk. "It was great meeting and working with you, Aquagirl. I'll touch base with you soon." And then, Supergirl shoots off like a bullet towards Metropolis.
