Beef tacos, now with paper cows!
Date of Scene: 13 December 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Origami and Rift meet up for tacos, and play with a cow.
Cast of Characters: Origami, Rift

Origami has posed:
Mighty Taco has a sale on tacos today, in bulk. Great for a student on a budget who might have a freakishly large appetite. Alternately, just because somebody might be a bit of a cheapskate. Ticky tacky plastic decor from a factory, and Mexican food more American than apple pie or baseball.

Miyako Moore sits outside with a plate of tacos and a stack of napkins, in her firefightery gear. She sits and listens to a radio idly, munching on a nacho chip, twirling a napkin between her fingers boredly, looking around.

Rift has posed:
Tacos! In bulk! Yes PLEASE. Kitora made a beeline for this place, using her fastest transportation method. She did mak sure to land nearby and turn her aura off so she looks relatively normal - as normal as an Asian girl can look with bright red hair and sunglasses covering her eyes. She steps past you as she orders two dozen tacos. She grins widely as she lays the money on the counter.

Origami has posed:
Because this is a great deal for groups, there's a bit of a line of people stocking up on food for the office. Funds are taken! Tacos are quickly made and served up in two boxes on a tray! Hot sauce is offered! Foods are procured! The smell of cumin and lime in 100% ground beef slurry drifts appetizingly up from the boxes toward your nose. Yum.

Miyako Moore idly pretends to share a nacho with a folded up napkin on the table, boredly, glancing at her phone for a moment. Hmmm.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua sits down at a nearby table, glancing at some girl who's pretending to feed a napkin as she quickly devours a taco - then two. She smiles. "Oh my - I need to come here more often - _especially_ on Tuesdays- maybe I can afford to fill up for once..." she mutters as she keeps an eye all around. The kind of passive surveillance someone used to being bullied has.

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore nods, "Yeah, they sent me down to get tacos for the fire station. But then they had a fire, so I'm waiting for them to get an all clear so they can have warm food. It's a great deal.."The folded napkin moos softly and grazes on a piece of guacamole in front of it.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua raises an eyebrow as she looks. "Ummmmm...." She glances at you - then at the napkin, as she gets up and moves to sit by you. "My name is Kitora," she muses. "And... did that napkin moo?" she asks softly, keeping her voice down, curious as she looks at the origami cow.

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore waves a bit. "Miyako, hi there, Kitora." She waves softly with a hand covered by a disposable plastic glove. She looks down at the napkin. The napkin tilts its head and looks back up at her. Both shrug a little. "Of course not. Napkins don't moo." She grins playfully. The origami cow lowers its head to the guacamole again as Miyako scoops some beans and nacho cheese onto a chip and crunches on it.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua blinks. "That's no napkin," she muses softly. "It's fine - I've seen weirder stuff. Some kind of spellcraft?" she asks softly as she had quickly finished six tacos. She just watches the cow curiously as she reaches a finger out to gently pet it.

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore nods, "Some sort of magic, yeah. I don't know a lot about magic, though, so I haven't really figured it out. Oh well!" The cow moos softly and feels pretty napkin-y, but doesn't seem inclined to go squish. It shakes its head and a small cowbell noise tinkles quietly. Miyako shrugs a bit, smiles, and scarfs down another nacho, nibbling a bit and picking up another napkin.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "That's a neat trick..." she muses softly, clicking her tongue as she finishes her first dozen. "Ah - that hits the spot - I'll work on these in a bit." She is fascintaed by the little cow as she leans her head odwn to get a closer look.

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore nods, "Yeah, I do a few other things too, but cows are adorbs. How are you doing today? Anything exciting going on?" It's an origami cow. That acts like a real cow, occasionally nibbling at a smear of guacamole. It's cute. Not much else to say here though. She folds on a napkin a bit, making it into a small paper flower, and puts that down on the side of the table away from her nachos.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua watches the flower, expecting it to start growing. "Oh, you know - eating two dozen tacos, telling the laws of physics to obey my whims, that kind of thing. Oh, and I'm on winter break from school too."

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore nods, "Ooh, yeah, break is good. I ended up finishing my year with take home work. I sort of lost my home in the middle of the year. Not my favorite yearbook memory."

The flower turns green, with a yellow flower. Tiny papery grass slowly spreads to cover the table in a thin layer. Miyako Moore rescues a nacho chip from the spreading greenery and pops it in her mouth, chasing it with some soda.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua just smiles faintly. "So... you can do neat tricks with paper. I can do things too but..." She trails off. "I can't do it subtle-like... if I try, I'll look different and it'll scare people..." She trails off. "Gotta keep a low profile, y'know?"

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore nods, "I already blew that. The first time I did anything was in front of a news camera. Now I help out the fire department here and there." She munches another nacho as the cow roams away from the guacamole to nibble on other parts of the table. "Maybe not the best job for someone with paper based magic, but I owe them."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "Yeah - but... I mean, when I start doing my... stuff... I start glowing - in an very strange fashion. Some have called it diabolic-looking." She shrugs. "I think the cow likes the grass," she muses, watching the nature panorama as she is glad the 'grass' doesn't encroach on her tray.

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore nods, "Yeah, cows like grass. I just felt like playing around with something.. Plus, my hands start getting stiff if I don't move them around some. Mm, at least I just look like some girl, so that's something. Why do you do anything?" She rubs her hands lightly through the gloves, then reaches in her messenger bag for a big tube of ointment.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles faintly. "Well, I often tell people my hair is a dye job..." She trails off as she watches the tube of ointment. "Hmmmm.... what is that for?" she asks curiously, tilting her head as she starts on the second box of tacos, dropping a piece of lettuce in front of the cow.

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore mms, "You don't have to look." She pulls her gloves off - her hands are horribly scarred to the point of looking mutilated. "I have to keep my hands moisturized and stuff. It makes it a little hard to look ordinary sometimes."
The cow puts its head to the lettuce, putting small cuts in the leaf but not seeming to actually eat much, if any, of it.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods slowly. "Burns?" she asks softly. "Yeouch." She hmmmmms softly. "I have my own disfigurement," she muses as she lifts her sunglasses - her eyes have red irises, not a natural human eye color. "They changed when my hair did." She shrugs. "The worst day of my life... and my parents almost died too - lost my childhood home... it was a mess. I tore the house apart by accident."

Origami has posed:
Miyako Moore winces. "Yeah, my house burned, but I didn't do it. Everything else came later." She massages some ointment into her hand as the radio crackles to life. "Oops, I better go get the guys their tacos. It's nice to meet you, Kitora! Maybe I will see you around." She waves at the table a bit, reducing the cow and flower to crumpled and lifeless paper, then rushes in to the building, picking up the radio to call back.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua picks up the cow, smoothing the crumples, smiling at the bit of staining on the muzzle. She takes her last few tacos and takes the little cow with her - she thinks she'll put it up in her room as a decoration with a fascinating story.
