Date of Scene: 15 December 2017
Location: Chinatown, New York City
Synopsis: Doctor Strange drops in on Shiva. Literally.
Cast of Characters: Doctor Strange, Lady Shiva

Doctor Strange has posed:
"Whoa!" Cries out a man as he falls through the skies and lands on several strings of chinese paper lanterns and even some lines of laundry that have been strung out between the buildings. The man falling flails his arms wildly as he plumets though the air having fallen through a sudden rift in the space time and is several feet in the air unexpectedly. Several things pop and snap as Doctor Strange lands on the strings and ropes.

Thankfully the structures and decorations slow his decent enough for him to grab onto the last line with his hands, but it's very quickly when his knees land on the sidewalk and he rolls onto the pavement with a grunt and a cry of pain as he finally lands on the ground and lays there perectly still for just a minute to catch his breath.

Lady Shiva has posed:
Upon the nearby rooftop, Shiva had been on her way to a rendezvous with a potentiel client. At the cry, she spins around just in time to see the man falling downard past the edge of the roof. Considdering she is on the tallest building in the area, her interest is immediately piqued. Where did he fall from? She glances to the sky even as she hears the lines and rops below snapping and giving way with the passage of the man. No helicopter or airplane in sight. She moves to the edge of the roof in time to see him teetering in the air still well above the ground as those rope do their best to remain in place. To no avail as he falls further. The assassin quickly vaults over the top of the building, catching one of the broken lines and sliding down it to the ground. She lands a moment after he does. Her landing is much more graceful and involves landing on her feet. She walks over to him, glancing down as her black leather trenchcoat settles around her. "Did you forget how to fly?"

It is the only explanation she can come up with for his falling from nowhere.

Doctor Strange has posed:
The Doctor rolls over onto his back as his hands might have a bit of rope burn, and his knee caps are certainly going to be a bit messy from landing on the sidewalk to hard, but he deals with it as best he can.

Looking up towards the woman who approached him, Strange shakes his head with a wince, "No, I just left my cape at home and there wasn't the time to cast a spell." Says the wizard with a groan as he tries to push up off his back and at least sit up on the sidewalk. "Did you come to teach me?" Stephen says almost sarcastically as he starts to push up and winces at the pain from his hand stops him.

Lady Shiva has posed:
That comment just gets a rather bland look from Shiva. She remains where she was standing, watching his plight as he struggles to recover from the rough landing. "I have no such skills to teach," she says, apparently assuming he actually wanted an answer. She does reach out a hand, offering him assistance in rising to his feet.

Some people might scoff at the idea of magic. Shiva is not one of those. She has seen too much in her lifetime to dismiss anything as being impossible. After all, she knows people who have come back from the dead. The concept of magic isn't so odd. "Perhaps I should rephrase. Where were you to be able to fall from well above the tallest building in this area?" There is an aura about her, an almost zen like quality in her form and speech.

Doctor Strange has posed:
Stephen takes the offered hand and stands up with a grimace, his hand griping hers lightly and strongly at the same time. Emense heat radiates off his hand as a lot of blood has begun flowing there to heal the blisters upon the old scar tissue that was already there.

"Thanks for the help. I fell from ... well somewhere else. The nightmareish realm of Nightmare. I was battling the forces of sleep that would come into our world to enslave humanity for their own nefarious deeds. I was ill prepared for the battle and thus didn't have my flying cape." He says with as serious as face as he can muster and nods towards Shiva.

Lady Shiva has posed:
Going by his tone and body language, the man is serious. Shiva considers. To say her curiosity is piqued is an understatment now. The concept of such things is a bit beyond her particular skill set but the concept of being skilled in magic holds a certain appeal. Who wouldn't want such abilities. Yet, it was never her path nor has it become so. Her path leads to the perfection of form though martial arts.

"You will retrieve your cape and return to the battle?" she asks, certain that has to be what he intends. Otherwise, humanity might be doomed. Strangely, that part doesn't seem to bother her so much. As though she holds no fear of such conquest. At least on a personal level.

Doctor Strange has posed:
"I will bide my time, as we were both weaked from our brief encounter, but I don't want to rush into a fight that need not happen. That is the best way to block a punch." Stephen says softly as he begins to dust of his black gi and red boots and cloth bracers on his wrists.

"If I didn't know any better I would take your tone as sounding like you'd prefer to join me. I recommend against it." The wizard says with a harsh frown on his lips and a pleading look in his eyes that say this is a kind of danger people could not persevere against.

Lady Shiva has posed:
Shiva gives a negative shake of her head. "Not in the least. The have no interest in heroics in the name of saving humanity. If such things come to this world and interfere in my life, then I will deal with them." Her speech is very precise, taking her time to work through her thoughts. She has complete confidence in her ability to take care of anything that might come after her.

"An interesting philosophy though. I believe that to block a punch, you simply need to defeat your opponent before they have a chance to throw one. It simplifies matters."

Doctor Strange has posed:
"I tend to avoid fights when I can. Part of my hypocratic oath." Strange says as he straightens up and smirks weakly into Shiva's eyes and gives her a polite nod with a fist and one palm meeting before him and he bows in farewell.

She's a warrior, that much is plain. "I'm certain you could defeat any foe." Stephen says with a chuckle towards himself before he starts to turn and looks around the area he landed in and tries to find a street sign or some inidcator of where specifically he was. "Do you by chance know where we are?"

Lady Shiva has posed:
Hypocratic oath. A doctor then. And one who believes in magic. That's strange since those people tend to prefer their science to believing in my mystical things. At his question, Shiva's brows arch upwards a bit in surprise. Perhaps it shouldn't be though. If he was in a nightmare realm, he might not even know what city he's in at this pint.

"Chinatown in New York City," she offers. Then she gives him the same style bow he gave to her. He has shown respect. She can do the same. "I wish you well on you endeavors, doctor."

Doctor Strange has posed:
"Thank you That part was obvious, but I do appreciate your kindness. You can call me Doctor Strange, and if you need any help with the mystic arts, you will be drawn to me." The Sorcerer Surpeme says with a kind wave and he turns on his heel and starts to walk towards the nearest intersection. As mundane a way to depart as was unusual a way to appear. That's the Doctor Strange.

Lady Shiva has posed:
There is a bemused smile on Shiva's face as she watches him walk away. Doctor Strange. It is a very fitting name. With that, she turns and with a leap she is on a fire escaape heading upwards. In moments, she has returned to the rooftop from which she had started this odd meeting.

If she ever has need of help with the mystic arts. Not a bad sort of contact to have.
