Coffee for Two
Date of Scene: 28 December 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Dazzler, Slipstream

Dazzler has posed:
The Manhattan coffee shop is fairly quiet between the holidays, both due to the date as well as the fact that it's mid-morning. The bell on the door jingles as a tall blonde steps in from the cold. Dressed casually in ripped jeans, plaid shirt, denim jacket, boots and a worn cowboy hat. Walking right up to the counter, she orders an extra tall caramel macchiato and a cinnamon-raisin bagel. There are some things you miss while chasing aliens around through alternate dimensions, and a New York bagel definitely fits on that list.

Slipstream has posed:
Settled at a table near a wall socket is Drake who is currently hunched over an expensive black laptop with a glowing red ROG Asus symbol on the back of it in a bright red color. He has a head of earbuds in his ears and a mouse on his right hand as he swipes it left to right about a mouse pad. It seems that he's deep into another game of Overwatch. Even when he finally gets out of the team house that he lives in, he can't seem to pull himself away from the game. His phone is docked on the top of his laptop lid, streaming his game play and his face as people pass by him, duck down and wave at the camera as they see that he's streaming to fifty thousand people. The keys on his laptop glow with each press of a button as his fingers jab along the WASD's with pin point accuracy. Though not many things can drag his attention away from, it is the celebrity that heads in that causes his eyes to raise slowly over the lid of his laptop. "... Wow ... Chat ... that's Allison Blaire. The Dazzler." He reads the chat as it scrolls by furiously, shouting things in caplocks such as: X-MAN!!?? SUPERHERO!!!! I LOVE HER ALBUM! OMG SHE IS SO HOT! GET HER AUTOGRAPH! One donation pings the screen for fifty bucks: Tell her you're Internet famous and buy her coffee.

With a laugh, Drake rolls his eyes upwards and pokes at the camera in front of him. "Calm down, chat. I'm not going to bother her. She probably gets enough fans freaking out about her." He says, eyes scanning the scrolling text a few more times that are full of emojis and other ridiculous statements.

Dazzler has posed:
Meanwhile at the coffee counter, the blonde seems oblivious to the commotion going on around the kid with the laptop. Keeping her attention focused on the barista, she watches the coffee being made and fishes into her jacket pocket for a few bills. And those full lips pull back a little into a smile.

Alison wiggles her fingers, and shimmering letters appear before the screen as though written on nothing but the air. 'I hear pretty well, ya know. Mind some company for coffee? - D'

Slipstream has posed:
Chat explodes in furious nonsense, ranging from: JEBAITED!!!! to MonkaS emoji's. Drake's cheek flush a bit red as he runs a hand back through his hair. He waves a hand at the glowing letters for a moment before he clears his throat. "Ah... sure." He calls over as he scoots up in his chair, then picks the camera off the top of the laptop and settles it to his right. "Chat, I'm going to end the stream here. You guys are kinda out of control and the Mods can't keep up. No, I'm not joining the X-Men, the Legion or the Fantastic Four. I think they'd have to change their names." He finds himself chuckling as he shakes his head. "Seriously, Chat. I'll pop back on when I get home and I'll go to two a.m after scrims. Hit the follow, sub, blah blah blah. You guys know the drill by now. Thanks for watching my IRL." He flashes his fingers in a V sign to the camera, then starts typing in the command to turn his stream off.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison pays for the coffee and bagel in the mean time, turning to head for Drake's table. Holding one in each hand, she hip-shifts and scoots into the booth across the table from him. And she flashes that stage-brightening smile as she sets them down. "So you already know who *I* am, but please call me Ali. And yeah, I've probably got some of the best hearing on the planet. Be happy to sign a few autographs for you as well, if you wanna get that out of the way. What's your name?"

Slipstream has posed:
"Oh. Heh.. ah .. I was just talking to ... about .. fifty ..two thousand people .." Drake trails off as he motions to his laptop. "I'm Drake. But, I'm called Dynamite on my stream. But ... you can call me Drake.." He seems almost shy now as he closes his laptop lid after putting it to sleep and nudging it to the side. "I don't need an autograph. I was just reading off some of my chat. Chat can be rowdy sometimes. Ever since Livewire hacked into my stream and then the Legion saved me from an assbeating, chat is starting to think I'm buddy buddy with the a-list superheroes. It's just luck, that's all." He rubs the back of his neck. "What kinda coffee you'd get?"

Dazzler has posed:
Blonde brows lift as she takes a sip of coffee. "That's a lotta people to be talking to, Drake." she replies. He explains the internet presence and she nods, blowing lightly on the coffee. "Caramel macchiato. But I really came down for a New York bagel." She smiles again, picking up the bagel and touching it with a fingertip. A shimmering blade, perhaps eight inches long, extends from her finger and neatly slices the bagel. Apparently Dazz likes to show off for her fans. "So you're being stalked by Livewire and you're best buds with the Legion. Sounds to me like you're becoming quite popular, Drake. You want half?"

Slipstream has posed:
"Me? Popular? Nah. I don't think so .. outside of the Internet, I'm no one. I just play video games at a high level, that's all. I'm the team captain for Team USA's Overwatch team and I'm one of the highest ranked players in the game. I spend like .. all day ... playing this game." He smiles at the offer. "Ah, sure. I like bagels. Do you want me to get you anything? Some guy gave me fifty bucks to buy you coffee. Chat is always trying to goad me into .. ah .. doing things for their entertainment. Makes for good content." He props his chin up in the palm of his hand. "So .. uh ... what's it like to be famous? Is it crazy that people bother you all the time for stuff?"

Dazzler has posed:
Alison passes him half the bagel, shaking her head. "I'm good, thanks. But you can buy me a mug if you want." She pauses for a moment, then adds with a bit of a smile. "Make that 2 mugs." Taking a bite of the bagel, Ali shrugs at the question of being popular. "Well there's popular and then there's *popular*, y'know? I was -popular- before I came out as a mutant. Now I'm even -more- popular, except no major producers or labels will touch me." Taking a sip of coffee, she adds. "But I do love my fans, if that's what you're asking. And I always have time for them. Even if I have no idea what Team USA's Overwatch team means."

Slipstream has posed:
"That's a RIP. There's nothing wrong with being a mutant. If you got a talent, you should be able to share the world with it, and singing is a talent. I'd break the bathroom mirror if I tried to sing in the shower." Drake glances up at her. "You gonna start your own label then? Maybe get a mutant radio station going on? I .. um... I know a lot about streaming obviously and it's where a lot of artists are going now. Most of my friends get like .. millions of views every day from their content." He taps his laptop, then opens it up. Pressing his thumb to the trackpad to unlock it, he pulls the game up. "This is Overwatch. It's a popular game. Been around ten years now and one of the highest grossing eSport games out there. My team for example is worth about twenty million between salaries and sponsorships. My job is to live, breathe, and eat this game." He pulls up a training simulator to showcase some of his Tracer skills as the hero zips about with her two guns blasting away.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison shrugs again. "Start my own label? Drake I just recently came back from skipping around other dimensions, fighting for my life." Still, when he goes on about streaming for millions of fans she looks interested. Really interested. She leans in when he pulls up Overwatch, taking a sip of coffee while watching. "Oh, so you're a gamer then. And it sounds like there's some serious money in gaming these days." Settling back in her seat, she looks thoughtful for a moment. "You're serious about streaming, right? I -technically- don't have an agent or a label right now, which gives me a lot of freedom. What're we talking, to get set up?"

Slipstream has posed:
"Oh. Um... I didn't know about the dimension part. I don't even know how that works .. it sounds kinda .. scary." Drake admits as he loads up his OBS software and then launches his stream. The two of them show up on camera in the top left of his window and the chat becomes a floating window on the right. "Well, I'm live now." He points to the quickly climbing number on the bottom which shows the viewers. Chat immediately starts blowing up with lines such as: HE IS BACK! THE DAZZLER! THERE SHE IS! SO HOT! IT'S A REAL LIFE GIRL! DAZZLERXDRAKE=BESTSHIP. Lots of things that the teens and tweens say. "Hey chat, I'm back. Dazzler here is interested in streaming content, maybe doing some concerts over the Net. What do you guys think? Emoji response only. Yay or Nay. Good idea?" The chat is spammed with green Yay's and other encouraging small pictures. There's a few lines that get deleted out quickly as the Mods go to work. "No racism or sexism in the chat guys. Mutants are people too. You'll get permabans for saying stupid shit. Subs aren't exempt from it." He sighs. "You get a lot of different personalities in here. But really you just need a computer, a mic, a camera if you want to be seen ... this software runs everything. You can even get a deck to do different scenes." He taps a few buttons on a small usb deck he plugs in that switches to scenes such as AFK, or a close up of his camera to show them wide screen, then another scene that shows them behind a wall of fire with the words DYNAMITE in the background that also displays his social media and schedule. "It's actually not hard once it's all good to go. Here, talk to chat for a moment while I snag those mugs. Whatever you do, just ignore them if they ask for dumb stuff like showing your tits or whatever. Mods will kick them out."

Dazzler has posed:
Alison chuckles and she nods. "I won't even talk about fighting aliens in the gladiator pits..." She watches with interest as he launches the stream again. Sipping coffee, she flashes a broad smile and waves to the camera when they both pop up onto the screen. "Well people are people, no matter where you go." she replies. Scooting over when he gives her control, she waves brightly again and says "Hi everybody!" Using a fingertip, she traces a glowing heart in the air and lets it hang there. "And thanks for the compliment, but no. I won't do THAT online..." Yeah, someone must've asked for something really inappropriate. "You guys wanna see one of my videos that never made it to post-production? Since the studio dumped me they don't technically own the material anymore..."

Slipstream has posed:
"Just type the link into the chat box there and hit enter about ten times to spam it, otherwise it'll get lost in all the chaos." Drake calls over as he selects a pair of fancy and expensive mugs from the shelf, then pays for it with a tap of his phone, followed by another large white mocha for himself with a quad shot of espresso. He trudges back over and places the mugs down, then sinks into his seat with a thump.

Dazzler has posed:
Ali shakes her head. "There isn't a link." she replies with a knowing smile. Holding up her left hand, palm-up, a very realistic holo image starts playing the video of the stage show. It's playing from memory, but from Ali's not from a computer's. Focusing on the image, she glances over at him with a smile when he returns with the mugs. Pointing a finger-gun at one of them, she 'clicks' her thumb and there's a bright flash... leaving behind her signature... 'Dazzler'... burned across the mug's logo.

Slipstream has posed:
"Woah, that's really freaking cool that you can do that." Drake breathes out as he watches her hand glow and start to show off the music video. "Lucky. Man .. I wish I could do neat stuff like that." As she zaps an autograph along the mug, he grins widely. "So, what else can you do besides pretty much .. uh .. anything that is light based? Can you fly? Are you able to make like .. a light racer from Tron?" He asks curiously.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison lets the music video 'play', and the fans can see that it's still got some rough edges. There are a few cuts and retakes, and she lets them see everything. All while continuing the conversation with Drake. "I can fly, but it takes a lot of energy so I usually save it for short bursts. I hadn't thought about a light racer like the ones in Tron, but I suppose I could do it. They only last while I'm concentrating, though. When I'm going into battle I bring a music player with headphones, and turn up the volume. I absorb sound and turn the energy into light."

Slipstream has posed:
"So, if you're in battle doing all of that, how can you hear someone sneak up behind yah'?" Drake asks curiously as he tilts his head to one side as he watches the chat's reaction to her music video. They are spazzing out, mostly positive. "So, what's it like being an X-Man and saving the world?"

Dazzler has posed:
Alison chuckles at that, letting the music video finish and flicker out. "My hearing is very, very, very good. Playing music at full volume doesn't drown out anything else, believe me. But with my music career off the rails, being an X-Man is the most rewarding thing I've ever done. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there with the team, too." She shifts to turn towards the camera, now. "Listen, I know there's a lot of anti-mutant sentiment out there and I completely understand it. I won't try to change anyone's mind who is afraid of us. But neither will I stop trying to do everything I can to protect them."

Slipstream has posed:
Giving a nod of his head, Drake grins at her. "Not sure why mutants are hated but people like Spider Man or Captain America is loved. It's the same thing. People got super powers, they do things with them bad and good. Just don't know why one is worse than the other. Born with it or given it by some secret government program. It's all about what you do with them to be honest. Sides, half of our politicians are worse than mutants." He taps his fingers along the keys of the laptop again as he plays his game, focusing a bit more as he lets Dazzler focus on the chat.
