Cast of Characters: Batman, Green Lantern (Jordan), Power Girl, Wonder Woman

Batman has posed:
The appointed hour was about to chime into being. For the Batman his preparations beforehand included final checks of the data, having some of the satellites he uses for intel to shift their orbits just enough so that they'll be in position, and to make sure the Batwing is ready and on standby just in case it should be needed. Once that's done he keys in the comm freq on the Bat Computer and then murmurs in his rumbling tone of voice, "Watchtower, one to transport." And as the last word leaves his lips the blur of light begins to grow around him, flicker, and then flares until he no longer exists there...
But instead exists upon the League's monitoring station in high orbit. There's no hesitation, he's already moving quickly. The assignments had been sent out beforehand, the vectors and starting points needed and the equipment given to those who would need better means of detecting the tell-tale energy signatures. He stalks to the computer console and keys it to life, typing in the sequence needed to connect the Bat Computer to the League mainframe. Once that's done he inserts the data drive, then keys up the comms.
"All operatives in position?" He asks on the frequency.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hal Jordan, Green Lantern, and member of the Justice League, was good to go. After the briefing last night, Hal had reviewed all the tactical and strategic information that his ring had recorded. It was a lot of info in regards to the Apokoliptican Technology, that was for sure.

Hal was already on point after checking in with the Mission Monitor Room when Batman arrives. "Good to go Batman. I am in position and awaiting direction. Looks like the area is hot, so we should all be on our best behaviour. Standing by." Hal smiles and nods. This should be...interesting.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is... Kind of on point. Naturally, she isn't necessarily anywhere that she shouldn't be, but tactically, there's a level of usability to the -height- that she operates at. At somewhere near the height of the atmosphere, just before the air becomes too thin to properly convey the sound of her voice, Power Girl floats languidly, prepared to shatter the sound barrier over her knee at a moment's notice.

It's not Batman's plan in the most acute of senses, but it's also pretty smart, as she can hit top safe in-atmosphere speed without worry. She lays there upon the air, hands behind her head, though one comes up to her ear. "Power Girl armed and ready."

She has the device that she's been given by Bats, but she has yet to be called into operation to start detecting and removing Apokalyptian weaponry. She's also primarily there to punch basically everything. Hal's playing the role of Minesweeper.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana was in the invisible jet. A constructed transport powered by the magick of the Lansinarian Disc gifted onto her by a mysterious alien race that observed Wonder Woman's deeds on this world as deserving of their finest technological trophy. Diana had used the disc for many things, but most prominently it powered the large jet that she used as a personal transport and a tool to defend Earth with.

Currently, Diana was inside the jet, standing up in control cabin. In front of her two of her Amazonian sisters were in the flight chairs, they'd been trained to fly the craft and were generally always eager to fly (who wouldn't be?).

"I am here." Diana said over the JL comms. "Awaiting orders on where and how to proceed."

Batman has posed:
"When this starts time will be of the essence. I am not detecting any active monitoring, but once information is conveyed then we should expect a response. Devices off until then." Batman adjusts the console and frowns as he gauges several power readings before he answers them each in turn.
"Power Girl, you're getting the primary route Alpha. Wonder Woman, Beta, should be coming in through your data feed now..." He touches a series of keys and then looks aside. "Supergirl, will be running Gamma." He keeps the comm open to them all as he speaks. "Lantern, when they get a hit you're to respond and disable the equipment. Power cores are the only part of the devices that should be dangerous.'
There's a click on the comms as Batman goes quiet for a moment, most likely updating other operatives on the situation, even as the earth turns slowly below his place in the Watchtower's observation room. Then the click as he returns. "Operation begins..." He waits as their synchronized chronometers tick down, the systems reading green. All is well. Green. Still waiting. Then Red, "Now," and the operation begins.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hearing that the others were good to go gave Hal Jordan a bit of...well, confidence. Not that he needed any with his Alpha Male Type "A" personality. But having an Amazonian Demi-Goddess and a Kryptonian did increase the odds. With a smile and a nod, Hal was ready and able.

Listening to the direction from Batman, Hal Jordan nods, and replies. "Copy that. I'm on cleanup and backup. I got your backs team. I aim for the PCs. 10-4." Hal nods, and adjusts his attack plan accordingly.

When the final word is given, Hal concentrates on the sensing devices in his ring, and waits for the good times to roll!

Power Girl has posed:
Idly whistling, the theoretically- if, at worst, arguably- most powerful lungs on the planet sing a tune in the high atmosphere that people on the ground will not hear. She waits, and waits... Before, eventually, her route shows up on the heads-up-display that Bats has given the JL card-carriers in the form of a contact lens.

In logical reverse, the display is green for a while, and then in the picosecond that it shifts from green to red, Power Girl bolts from the sky. She accelerates to Mach 10, near the fastest speed she can manage in atmosphere without breaking apart molecules and shattering the environment.

She's got a series of points that she has to visit and take readings- and at her speed, it won't take very long. Yet, frustratingly- admittedly onlt for those with super speed- she has to actually pause, and let the device take the reading, before resuming speed.

During those moments, at least while it's quiet, she looks almost bored.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana stood behind and between her two sisters that were piloting the plane, she had her armor on and her sword/shield on her back, her hands were at her sides... she quietly observed up until the information was relayed. "Copy that." Diana said in response over the comms.

It was then that she leaned forward and pointed to one of the holographic displays that was being emitted from the center of the invisible jet's partially see-thru console. "There." Diana told her pilots. "That is our trajectory... fly along that course."

The redheaded Amazon who was the primary pilot in this scenario nodded her head and slightly adjusted course.

The invisible jet whipped across the skies, its strange high-pitched alien technology engines whining behind it in its cloaked wake.

"We are entering the recon pattern, Batman." Wonder Woman's voice would say over their comm link.

Batman has posed:
Across the world there are repeated sonic booms, crashes of sound that echo throughout their regions. If any number of governments knew exactly what was going on there might well be an unending cavalcade of protests and ire aimed in the direction of the people doing this. But then again this is what one might consider... covert. And legal considering that these weapons are internationally outlawed and over-arching recon flights have been approved. Perhaps not to quite this... degree. But the letter of the law will fit.
For the seekers it's a time spent with the lights flickering, beeping, each point reached they must hesitate long enough to get the clean reading. At first there are mostly negatives, no sign, no sign. Then abruptly on the display for Power Girl she'll get a red X and a stream of data that points in a particular direction. The first catch of the day.
Only moments after that, Diana's response will trill. A sight, another location. Storage facilities both. No operatives to counter in the area. They're electronically marked for Green Lantern to handle and secure.
And such is how it goes for the first handful of minutes of the operation. Executed well. Proceeding properly. Perfect. For a moment Batman nods at the display. Then his thoughts drift back towards Hal's earlier words.
    What could go wrong?

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hal hovers in place, the emerald shield rippling with his willpower. The anticipation was killing him, as his eyes scan the area in combination with the capabilities of the ring. "Ring...stay on target. Keep scanning the area for those power cores. And keep me updated as to the status of the girls."

The cold, calculating voice of the ring responds, usually just for Hal's ears, but anyone with enhanced hearing could also hear it. "Scanning. Directives understood Green Lantern. Note adversaries detected. Shield strength at 100 percent. Status, nominal."

Hal simply nods, and watches as things get heated. The girls do their part, and Hal follows up as best he can. So far so good...this time he was NOT going to curse it by saying anything irreverent of damaging. Promise.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is so respectful of government regulations. Really. Definitely. There isn't an entire, massive gallery of high resolution photos of her being confronted by various agencies that wish for her to, as she calls it, Save People Slower. This gallery certainly doesn't feature her giving a relatively universal gesture.

It sort of makes sense that she isn't going to respect the quiet, but at least it only sounds like occasional cracks of thunder in the air. Totally easy to hide or cover up.

As she proceeds from point to point, and gathers the data needed, eventually there's this... Creeping sensation that runs up her spine.

"Things are... Really quiet. Batman, how are you feeling about that? Is this good quiet, bad quiet, you've got sort of suspicious quiet radar, so what's your gut telling you?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
The storage facilities were identified by the Amazons jet craft and one of the pilot's relays the information to Green Lantern. Diana stands throughout the flight, only raising her right hand up where a smoke-hued see-thru handle forms from the ceiling and gives her something to grip onto for added stability during the flight... the jet produced its own gravitational field but it was not perfectly flaweless... and Diana controlled the shape and make of the jet's entire body with her mind, she could re-arrange the entire interior layout with just a simple thought.

At the comm message from Power Girl, Diana chimed in. "It is a discomforting quiet." She voiced her opinion on it, short and sweet.

Batman has posed:
The answer given to Power Girl's inquiry is that rumbling voice on the comms. "Keep your guard up." Not much of an answer, but it encompasses his sentiment entirely even as he's looking to the side at the steady stream of data. But she was right, this was going faster easier. They'd already made good progress, Green Lantern is making quick work.
    It didn't sit well.
The monitors for him continued to thrum steadily as the data was gained. But then there was suddenly an abrupt flaring of Power Girl's display, the sensor making a trill of warning and then going offline and silent for her as well as for Batman.
"Power Girl." Her voice uttered first, nothing more as his eyes scan the monitors. Then he frowns as he plays back the last of the feed and the data. "Multiple high yield power activations in your area. What are you seeing?" He asks even as he's touching a fingertip to the data display, rewinding the data again.
Only or seven seconds later Diana's monitoring system flares with the same trill and then disengages. "Diana. What's your read?" He asks then adds, "Lantern get ready to move to back their play."

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hal Jordan picks up the relay from Diana and cycles it through the ring's data core. Concentrating on that, Hal hears PG, and then Diana, talk about quiet. "Hey girls, I thought I was the one to bring the bad luck? Now you go and use the "Q" word? Gawds, now the fan is going to be splattered, I guarantee it."

Continuing the work, Hal sends all of the tactical information back to Batman. Things were going surprisingly well. Quick work indeed, which brought Hal's hackles to full attention. Instincts were everything, and right now, Hal shared Batman's instincts. This was...too easy.

That was when PG's stuff went to heck. "I'm here Bats. I am within striking distance of backing PG up. Standing by." A pause, "Ring, scan that area, and get ready to go." "Acknowledged." The ring said within the emerald bubble. "Good times..." Hal whispers to himself, under his breath.

Power Girl has posed:
The first thing that she should say over the comm channel is something -about- what she's seeing. Specifically the number, the specific notes of the technology, any sort of description that she can manage. That's what Batman would do. This, however, is Power Girl, so the first thing she says is just a -little- bit off target.

    "Hal, this is your fault."

Her eyes narrow on the shapes deploying from the hub nearer to her than, seemingly, anyone else. Her sight is a wonder of power, as from afar she just... Zooms in on them, like a telescoping lens. "Well, we've got power suits. Multiple cores. Next time I get a chance, I'm gonna head on out to the Stark estate, and just... Turn it upside down. Make the roof the floor."

Makes sense, anyone who ever uses a power suit of any kind for nefarious purposes is either Tony's fault, or Tony-inspired, something that is not an incredibly generalized statement whatsoever.

"I'm moving to engage. I'm guessing I should avoid punching the parts that are powering the other parts." she notes, awaiting the response before, well, bolting towards the first mechanized unit in line.

Wonder Woman has posed:
At about the same time as Batman speaking up to her, Diana's jet's sensors started to go off and as the jet flew over the shipping area she turned and lowered her eyes to the deck... trailing along the see-thru deck of the jet, a holographic image was tracking the alerted action.

Diana walked toward the back of the jet and watched the holographic images relaying her the information. "Yes. People in powered armor." Diana confirmed what Power Girl had said. "I'm sure Mister Stark has nothing to do with this though..." She sounded unsure.

"Alien technology. I would say that we have been spotted and that this is the 'welcoming party'."

Diana would move to the back of the jet and glance back to her sisters, the co-pilot looked back to Diana and then nodded to her before keying the rear of the jet open via a dropped ramp.

"Let us not provoke a fight, if they attack first... well then, let us end the fight as soon as possible." And with that, Diana would let her armored body fall out of the back of the Jet and begin to freefall down toward their potential new enemies.

Batman has posed:
"Apokolipsian power cores are markedly unstable." Batman gives as a word of warning to the others, but he is frowning at the data display as the imagery and sensors begin to return, the devices coming back online and recalibrating for the higher energy quotient. At first his display is a bright gleam of noted contacts, but then once the machines adjust to the incoming power suits he is able to get a better tactical image.
"They also do not seem to be drones, be careful." He tells them and for a moment he looks to the side towards the door and the already prepped Batwing beyond it. But by the time he arrived matters would already be settled. Instead he refocuses his attention on the task at hand. No idea how Oracle does this so easily.
Meanwhile, the power armored units continue their rise, not as speedy as a Stark suit, and much bulkier. There is an element of the hodge-podge to them as they seem to have multiple power generators attached to the armor in various places, all glowing with that yellow gleam. They make their approach, heading towards Power Girl and roughly in Diana's direction.
Then from a loud-speaker on one of the suits, a voice speaks in multiple different languages one phrase. "Please hold, we are a peaceful organization!"
The multiple power sources begin to glow, each of them keying on, one after the other. But then their words are given the lie as once the generators are all active a large beam coalesces and LANCES out straight at Power Girl seeking to blast her out of the sky.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Hal, this is your fault." Comes over his comms. Sighing, Hal nods, and replies with a, "Probably. WHat can I say? I'm a trouble magnet." Hal relays the info to the ring, and to Batman, waiting to leap into backing PG up. "Try to avoid blowing everything up if you can." Hal says, and adds, "You too Wonder Woman."

Gritting his teeth, Hal remains situated as back up. Hating that, as he is usually at the forefront of the battle, Hal uses his little-drawn on discipline to remain where he was. Backup. Just in case this was just the opening salvo. Although not as good a tactician as Bats, Hal was an outstanding strategist..and tactican, and something didn't smell right.
"A peaceful...Power Girl, watch out!" Too late! The energy lances strike at PG, and Hal was too late indeed.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is not quite breaking the sound barrier in order to confront the armored entities that are absolutely, definitely, going to shoot at her the first moment that they can. It's not even a question in her mind. They're going to fire, because this night can't go any other way.

They announce that they're peaceful, and for half a moment, Power Girl completely doesn't believe them, instead repositioning so that when they shoot her, the bolt isn't going to blow up an orphanage or some other occupied area. They fire, of course, and as soon as they do, her perception increases in speed to match the inevitable supersonic maneuvers she's about to perform. She slips to the side and then accelerates to Mach II, bursting forward towards the mech.

The sound of her voice will reach her after she does, but only by a moment. What she says is pretty telling. "Peaceful? Oh you're GONNA be!"

The first hit is actually more of a raking claw. There are certain things that you can do to disable anything based around using human anatomy, and for these suits, the most important thing that she can see is pulling apart the faceplate- not the helmet in total, but the faceplate, so as to blind them to the status of their suit and make it difficult, if not impossible, to operate.

The way Power Girl operates differs from Superman in some... Terrifying ways. Not necessarily scary in the sense that she's someone you're afraid to fight with, but she leverages more. She's striking at the joints next, to make the suit absolutely inoperable, pulling and tearing rather than punching or squeezing. She doesn't want to damage the person inside, but instead she wants to disable the suit itself, integrally.

Wonder Woman has posed:
At first Diana was relieved to hear the announcement of the declaration of peacefulness... sadly that was shortlived however.

The great advantage that she had at the moment is that none of them appeared to be looking at her as she fell from the sky and the invisible jet's stealth had provided her with an unknown approach.

Down Diana fell until she finally swooped herself in a flight pattern that would lead her in behind their new targets. "Stay sharp, Power Girl." Diana said over the comms, impressed the Kryptonian's abilities more and more every time she witnessed them.

Diana's sword was in her right hand and her lass was in her left. She came down right behind one of the armored targets and wasted no time to snare them up within the confines of her golden glowing rope. Diana too, would then move to pull their armor apart, to tear the helmet apart first. She did not want to harm whoever was inside though, anymore than she had to.

Batman has posed:
The two suits that were firing on Power Girl don't even have time to readjust their aim. They just fire, a blazing shot that seems to be almost larger than the suits themselves. But then the beams disengage and it seems like something invisible causes those armored face plates to fray at the joins and obscure the eye slits. Then the flying woman seems to appear next to them, so quickly executed, so precise that they're already twisting and spinning on their boot jets, as if trying to get a lock on her new position. And failing.
"The initial readings on the suits are they're a mix of technology. No clear evidence as to the origin of the suits." Though, to be fair, his first thought went to Stark too. Of course.
But several nations away, Diana was dealing with her own incident. Though those two suits were twisting in the air, extending the palm of one armored gauntlet as a green glow was emanating from it, seeking the source of the radiation they were perceiving. Until suddenly it was raining Amazons. Or one in particular.
The lasso loops around the arms of the floating suit and then cinches tight snapping its limbs down to its sides as a mechanically modulated voice announces, "Wha?!"
Then there's the clang of a blow to the side of one helmet and the creak of metal surrendering to the heavy pressure of the strength of a goddess. She'll reveal the wide-eyed face of the man inside, an older man with black hair and pale, a targeting reticle over one eye as he gasps. "Ach, mein gott!"

Power Girl has posed:
For the record, Power Girl does not necessarily believe that Stark is involved with the creation of these suits, but she does believe that one or more of the Dev team may have been inspired by various Stark designs- something that likely doesn't, and shouldn't, weigh on the conscience of the red-and-gold suited billionaire, wherever he may be.

Power Girl is methodic, if nothing else. She doesn't really like to reveal herself to either suit, but instead, she's bouncing between the two, keeping their aim off, taking out integral parts of their suits in order to render them inoperable. Joints, aiming systems, pulling apart weaponry with her almost-bare hands so as to leave them defenseless. It helps that most materials on the human side of the hodgepodge cannot possibly hope to withstand her strength, and this creates a vulnerability in the designs.

Once the two suits are finally on the ground, Power Girl is standing over them, taking them apart with a little too much expertise- she's a scientist and engineer by trade, when she isn't actually doing superheroic things. It provides her with another advantage to get them free without harming the fleshy interior, otherwise called a "criminal."

Really, there are worse experiences than having to be put into the ground by Power Girl, but it's probably not a fun Saturday night for the individuals in question.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana was fairly surprised to have a man shouting German back at her, as they locked eyes when she exposed his face. She didn't however, hesitate to keep going and her hand went up to rip the eye-piece off of his left eye. "Ich bin nicht dein Gott. Ich bin dein entwaffnender." Diana replied to him in his own tongue.

Her hands went for the powersource in the suit, in hopes of tearing it out as well and then she'd push the man back, hoping to topple him over before leaping into the air to pursue any other threats that were coming down upon her within the vicinity.

"Definitey Apokolipse technology, Batman." She said over her comms. "This is the biggest cache of it that we have found to date."

Batman has posed:
Those criminals voice their protests as they are rather clinically and precisely rendered harmless, one of the suits squealing in protest when its material is torn and twisted. Various small lights begin to go out each in turn as she tends to them, breaking connections and links, disabling firing systems, and it's only when the joints lock and the power systems go entirely out that the armored suits fall over slowly, teetering and then thumping to the ground.
The men, now trapped inside their armor, begin to curse rather angrily in strongly accented Spanish, enough that if Power Girl's watched The Wire or Breaking Bad she might be terribly scandalized.
The other suits that are put down by Diana take little time to disassemble though when she responds back to the man in German his eyes get wider. The suit pilots all seem to be reluctant to press them further, now that their abilities have been displayed. They surrender with little ado.
"We'll need to bring them in for questioning, then surrender them to interpol." Batman's voice is gruff and business-like even as he frowns at the displays. "Lantern, I need you to move in and disable the power sources."
On the other end of the comm the Green Lantern's response is just a quick, "Roger."
Up in the watch tower, Batman frowns. "Alright, we may run into more situations like this. We're still on the clock. We need to keep moving..."
