Shadowlite has posed:
HasCorp. One of the bigger multinationals in the world. They have assets and operations going on across the known world, and show no sign of stopping their expansion.

Recently, HasCorp built out an outpost on one of the nearby island to Pangu. There are a multitude of rumors why Mr. Hasvrac didn't build the regional stop over on Pangu proper... but he has not elected to comment.

Instead, the outpost is turning into a pit-stop for a closed chain of merchant traffic that services only HasCorp ships, for now. All others are turned away... except for Kaelyn.

Mr. Hasvrac himself is staying at the outpost, overseeing operations in the region personally. Why Kaelyn has ben requested? All she gets is 'We have a project you might be interested in'. When she arrives, she's greeted by a secretary in a business dress. Not one to mince words, the blonde brings Kaelyn into the outpost proper... past some formidable looking security arrangements; anyone who wanted to assault this place had some serious work to do with the fortress walls emplaced.

Going into the outpost proper is an exercise in viewing both pragmatism and to-of-the-line luxury. Lush carpets are surrounded by defensive emplacements. A crystal chandelier sparkles with the light of the sconces. The walls are finely made... and have firearm slits.

Eventually, Kaelyn is brought before a door in the middle of the outpost. 'Mr. Hasvrac, CEO'. The Blonde secretary knocks three times, before she walks away with a 'good luck'.

"Come in." Michaels voice gives from within.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Dressed in her normal, well every day getup. That being an underbust corset, over a dark burgundy poets shirt. A long jacket, tight leather pants and mid-calf boots... She has what amounts to two crossing belts, and a third as well each having a buckle. One has a hammer on the buckle, a warhammer of sorts, another has a sword, the last has a pistol.. On those belts are all manors of pouches and such, possibly holding different reagents or other such bits and baubels. She also has a small leather backpack, and lastly there's a Raven on her shoulder...

Any words to ask her to get rid of said Raven is pretty much ignored... Also at the nape of her neck perched between the backpack and said neck, with its head resting on her shoulder is a tiny winged creature, about the size of a cat.. It has scales, a long whip-like tail, wings, a long neck, well lets face it, it's a tiny little dragon. Though its eyes appear to be solid smooth amethyst gemstones, its scales are a dark antinque bronze in color, though it appears to have tiny silve rrunes here and there on it...

Kae wanders on inside and glances around curiously, looking at the person who's asked her to come here.. Anyone in the know, might recognize her as a Mage, as well her demeanor, and everything else just screams 'Mage'.. Though what type is anyone's guess...

Shadowlite has posed:
Coming inside, Kaelyn first goes by the secretary pit. This one has a redhead within, who gives Kaelyn a smile. "Good luck in there Ms. Silverleaf!" She gives brightly, before she presses a lever, and the main door opens with a twist of mechanical gears.

The inside of Michaels office is bared, then.... and 'luxury' is a bit of an understatement.

First, there's the hot water bath to one side, taking up most of the corner off to the left. There are a number bikini clad women there, giggling and laughing. Michael Hasvrac himself stares out the window in the corner, his hands clasped behind his back. Neck length blonde hair and handsome features turn to greet Kaelyn, then. "Ah, Good evening. I was hoping you'd accept the invitation." Michael greets Kaelyn charmingly, before he gives a glance to the women, "off you go now ladies. I have important business to conduct." The women promptly leave, towels on, before a servant -previously unnoticed- comes over and starts to mop the floor where they came in, the wooden floor something Michael is obviously not interested in water damage over.

Michael then starts to head over to his desk, and sits down. He gives a hand gesture in front, offering a chair, "Please, sit if you like. If I had known you would accept the invitation for certain, I would have been more prompt about cleanup."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kaes eyes follow the bikini clad women curiously, then she glances back to Michael curiosly now as well before she responds "I fear I showed up overdressed.... Not that it would matter..." Kae sits allright, she simply chooses to sit on air near the desk, the woman pulling her heels together kind of in an indian style sit as she studies Michael curiously for a moment... The Raven, and the little dragon studies the person now curiously as well.

Poe then speaks up.. "He's going to request some kind of crazy powerful artifact..." In a very prim, propper English accent... Kae glances aside at Poe criously and shrugs "Something you say every time... " She mutter sback and looks to Michael and smiles "Don't mind my familiar, he's umm, protective and at the same time tries to make quick and early deductions...

Shadowlite has posed:
"That's one way to do it." Michael muses with amusement, before he leans back and steeples his fingers.... and suddenly the Raven is talking, and Michael squints his eyes at it, "I'd heard magic could do some odd things, but talking animals... that's new." Michael comments, before he shakes his head. "No matter. I asked you over here to discuss a potentially mutually beneficial business deal. Obviously, it has to do with magic, since you were requested... but I'm afraid that going forward, I'll have to require an NDA from you. Is that acceptable?"

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae tilts her head, then smirks "If there's one thing I am good at it's keeping secrets... I don't generally discuss what my clients want with other clients, it's never a good thing to do on this island..." she adds and ruffles Poe's feathers, who appears to be annoyed a the thought of an NDA... "He just wants it in writing that I won't speak about what's talked about here."

Shadowlite has posed:
"I want to be able to legally prosecute you if you talk about anything here, yes." Michael gives in affirmation. "in my world, the law is king. I know the pirates in the local region have their own rules, but we specifically cut ourselves out of that chain of good to not offend the powerful captains in the area. We have our own logistics chains, and will remain so for some time." Then, Michael pulls out a parchment. The woman who mopped the floor comes over and grabs the parchment, bringing it over to Kaelyn, along with a quill. "At your leisure, Ms. Silverleaf. I can wait."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae shrugs and examines the parchment, pen and ink, not to mention the rest of the room, her eyes shifting to view in the spectrum of the arcane... After taking any necessary precautions she signs the NDA "Soo you're looking to, if I speak of what is talked about here, sue me?" She asks curiously... "At worst if I break this kind of NDA you would just have me for breach of contract... Also, though it doesn't pertain to here and now, ink and parchmentlike this isn't too binding to a witch or mage with any skill..." She says and smiles slightly "But if it makes you feel better when dealing with me."

Shadowlite has posed:
"You still need to deal with the real world, Ms. Silverleaf. Being a contract breaker is a black mark on anyones record, and I would personally make sure people knew about your unreliability if you pushed the issue." Michael gives, firmly... before he smiles, "That being said... what would you say would be a reasonable way to bind you to an NDA, then?" Michael asks as the woman takes the parchment back over to Michael, and he slides it into a drawer.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae shrugs slowly "I'm just saying that's the way it is with some of us, some mages are quite honorable, some are not. Best thing to do is just figure out who we are, find out if we're honorable and instead on relying on paperwork, try to get our word on things... Most of us stick to our word... It's how we do magic and deal with other planar beings..." she says and grins "A lil more involved in it, but you get the idea..."

Shadowlite has posed:
"Having the NDA and your magically binding word both sounds good to me." Michael notes, "Well?"

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae grins "NOt magically binding, You just have to trust in my character. Anyhow, I won't disclose what we talk about. As I said before, I do not speak of what my clients want to other clients or to authorities. It's not how I work, but I can reserve the right not to accept a job." she adds and shrugs. "Like in all things business, you just have to take what you know of me and make a little leap of faith."

Shadowlite has posed:
"The big leagues don't work like that, Ms. Silverleaf, so rest assured I'll be enforcing your NDA if it comes to that." Michael observes, before he continues, "As you might imagine, competition at this level is strong. The multinationals all have their pies and they stick to them. Corporate warfare is a fact of life, but one I'm trying to find ways to mitigate our losses in. That's where you come in." Michael gives a nod to the woman, who pulls down a large hanging parchment from the ceiling, on it a number of diagrams, charts, and a small map with notes on it. "With ship technology the way it is, I want to look into alternatives; I call it magitek. I want to blend technology and magic, build a new foundation for the future in the Magitek Project."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae tilts her head curiously, and smirks... She motions to her little dragon "Ever look at em closely?" She asks curiously and then motions the cat-sized creature to the desk... It climbs down Kae's arm and stands on its hind legs there, resting on its haunches as it chirps... "HE's a construct... A living construct... Magitech you might call em..." She suggests, then she taps her belt buckle, the one with the gun. A gun does appear in her hands but it looks kind of off... "This is a caster... Anyone can use it, a mage can really make it work...." she states and with a wave of her hand makes a portal, it shows empty ocean, a few islands and a few spurrs of rock... Kae then points the weapon through the portal.... "This is what magitech can do, this is a small example.." She states and pulls the trigger. The weapon has a few parts that resemble cylinders, like where one might see on a six shooter... One cylinder rotates in place, and bits of the barrel spin, including the opening before a bright red blast of superheated energy, a beam, leaps from the barrel, black arcs of 'electricity' crackling along its length as it roars toward one of those large spurs of rock, the water evaporating a U-shape through the waves before the thing strikes and blasts a person-sized hole through the rock...

Kae pulls back and closes the portal before blowing on the barrel and making the gun dissapear. "That was all 8 shots mind you, but you get an idea.... You know what you're getting into when you talk about magic-advanced technology?" She asks curiously...

Shadowlite has posed:
"I think it's a safe bet to say that research and development are a big part of what I want to do with HasCorp... and it has to start somewhere. I want stuff like that-" Michael nods to the gun "-to be reliable for everyone. I've been told you're considered an expert on thes matters, which is why I called you in. No risk, no reward. Are you interested in being retained by HasCorp to develop reliable Magitek for us? I can have Susan draw up the papers for your contract to look them over, see if you want anything changed."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae hmmms... she then shrugs slowly "Tell you what, I will consult with your people, and try to help them make safe and reliable magitech... I would not wish to help you develope high-powered magitech weapons... But helping you make better, and safer travel and other such commoddities I would be interested in doing for now." She then smiles "Can you feature a future where armies clash with each other using hand guns that have the same or greater hitting power than a ship's broad-side? I don't think that would be a good thing." she adds... "But if you wish to formulate weapons I can help you design your own that will be safe for folks to use... I shant give you my designs.. They are my own..."

Shadowlite has posed:
"I have a starting lab on the island. Feel free to ask my chief engineers assistants for any material you might need. Naturally, the existence of this lab is top secret under the law and covered in your NDA. We didn't want to put it on the mainland in case of accidents, and this is an area that few legitimate merchants come to for obvious reasons.... so secrecy is easier out here." Michael stands, walking over, and offer his hand for a handshake to the floating Kaelyn, then. "For now, I'll let you take a look at what we have under the NDA. If you agree to work for us, we'll settle your contract. Agreed?"

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae nods slowly... "Agreed, I can take the wait and see approach... Again my designs, will be my own, but I can help your engineers come up with their own as well..." She suggests and then tilts her head "I think you'll find this road rather difficult... Maybe we can help folks though... Specially if we can come up with a better means than sale power to propell a vessel... And better materials than wood."
