Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice
Date of Scene: 11 January 2018
Location: Lobby - Hall of Justice
Synopsis: Superboy, Power Girl, and Mon-El socialize and discuss some of Mon-El's current problems...
Cast of Characters: Superboy, Mon-El, Power Girl

Superboy has posed:
Early Thursday afternoon and Conner has returned to Metropolis for the first time in the year. New York has been good for him, and when he has free time he goes to Hawaii, not to Metro. But today he was feeling nostalgic, and when he saw the new Hall of Justice he decided to take a look. Maybe he will get lucky and see Kal-El. He is feeling a bit guilty about not calling him during the Christmas break.

The guilt is Red Robin's fault. Conner is invulnerable to guilt, usually.

Since he came wearing the S and his 'uniform' (which looks less like an uniform every month) he has drawn a bit of attention. But no, it is not an emergency. Just a social visit, honestly.

Mon-El has posed:
Speaking of Kal, the walls of this particular hallway are quite well decked out in murals of him heroically depicted in various acts of saving Metropolis, or the planet or somehow preventing some mass genocide or other. Or just flying in an epic posture with rays of golden light all around him. Unsurprisingly, art of him tends to be very glorified.

Lar can be found standing in front of one such mural, studying it with a pensive frown. He keeps seeing all these images and depictions of this Kryptonian known as Superman, but there's just something very oddly familiar to him--and not just because of all the imagery of him everywhere, but something on a more intimate level. As if they were good friends before. Yet no matter how much he thinks about it, he can't seem to recall ever meeting him or knowing really anything about him other than what he's heard or seen in public. It's a very...frustrating feeling to say the least. He's tried to avoid thinking about it, but when there's statues and paintings of this guy just about everywhere, it's kind of hard.

Power Girl has posed:
Returning to the Hall is always a problem for Power Girl. There's a level of... Bureaucracy that is involved in saving the day, that the blonde just can't stand for various reasons. She doesn't necessarily have an office per se, but the fact of the matter is, there's... Well, it's pretty self-explanatory.

Her arrival isn't heralded by anything specifically- the inside of the Hall is so well armored that the noise outside is only even audible to those with Super-Hearing if they're really trying. The doors open, and in walks the statuesque, six-foot-plus form of Power Girl, who is then immediately assaulted by a small drone with a high-pitched voice. "Welcome back to the Hall of Justice, Power Girl! You have four hundred and fifteen open documents to read and process."

There is a sigh, as she starts stepping forward. "Yeah, just. Yeah. Start scrolling through them. Show me where to sign and what to fill out."

Superboy has posed:
Conner spots Lar soon enough, and blinks slowly. He looks a lot like a certain 31st Century superhero that should probably not be in the 21st Century. He gotta check that. "Hey, man," he greets, walking towards Mon-El. "Are you Mon-El, or was it Valor? I mean, you look a lot like a Daxamite I met once. Or will meet, not sure."

Power Girl arrival makes him glance back to the door. Wait, the Justice League has bureaucracy. Knowing that just killed Conner a little.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar turns around, and Conner can confirm that yes, this is definitely Mon-El. However, upon seeing Superboy, he just looks...confused. Is this yet another person he knew before losing all his memories? He stares at Conner for a minute, but again, he is drawing a blank. "My name is Lar Gand, although I have heard others call me Mon-El. I'm not sure why, but it's probably just another thing that happened that I don't remember." he finally says, sighing. "Like knowing Superman, here." A gesture toward the mural. "'Valor', though? Now -that's- one I haven't heard yet. Did I give myself that name? It sounds kind of...I don't know, cliche?" he smirks slightly.

Then Power Girl enters and his attention is drawn that way for a moment. "Oh, hello Power Girl." Glancing at the drone, "Four hundred fifteen? You need help with any of that?" he says, half jokingly.

Power Girl has posed:
It's all Batman's fault, really. It has logical sense, though. With so many superhuman folks running about, it's important to gather testimony from a reliable source- in this case, the apprehending party in a superpowered altercation- about what powers, what weaknesses, and what methods were employed by both the, as cliche as it sounds, hero and the villain.

Power Girl just runs a company and hates paperwork in general. Especially -this- paperwork because, well...

"Okay, yeah, in that field put 'He stared at my chest, and so I punched him, and then before he got up I punched him a few more times, and then he was unconscious, so he was arrested by SHIELD.'" Scrolling with her finger on a form of holographic interface, she pointed to a few places on this bit of documentation. "Copy that here. Put Power Girl here. Next document." She nods a few times. "Yeah, I remember this one. Copy everything from the last document to this one. Next document."

After a moment of silence, she nods again. "Okay, so in this one, it's entirely different. Put 'SHE stared at my chest, so I punched HER, and then before SHE got up, I punched her a few more times, and then she was unconscious, so she was arrested by SHIELD."

It's at this poing that she notices Conner and Lar, and she offers the two a mock salute. "Afternoon. Just here doing... All this... Really boring paperwork. I'm afraid you probably can't help."

Superboy has posed:
Stared to her chest! Punched. Harsh. It might be the chest was at eye level? Probably not. Still harsh.

"Uh..." Conner looks back at Lar and shakes his head. "I don't know. I guess it is best if we don't talk about it if it involves time travel. Brainy might end up yelling at us or something." A glance to the ring Mon-El wears confirms he is Legion. But 'when' Legion is the question. "So, are you here alone or with some others from the team?" He adds.

Mon-El has posed:
An eyebrow is raised at Power Girl, Lar's thinking the same thing as Conner, only he actually says it aloud. "Stared at your chest? Don't you think that's a bit harsh, given how hard you can punch? How do you even know they were staring at you? Maybe they were just...lost in thought?"

He shrugs at Conner. "Honestly, I don't know if I time traveled or not. I don't remember. All I remember since leaving Daxam are about past couple of months of being here on Earth. I do--" he looks Conner up and do. "feel like I've seen you before, but I just don't recall when or where or how."

"What team, the Legion? They found me, yeah. If I came here with them or not I have no idea."

Power Girl has posed:
"If it helps, they were all criminals. Bank robber, mugger, and bank robber, respectively. I just punish sexual harrassment pretty harshly. I also pull my punches so as not to reduce most people into a fine, breathable mist." she notes, scrolling through another document. Seeing as this is the lobby of the Hall, she makes her way over to a chair, and sets herself down into it, raising a brow at the conversation the two were having.

"The Legion? I think there are a few about, yeah. Haven't met any, though." she notes, "I've only ever seen him work alone, you must be..." she pauses, for a moment, "Superboy, right? Haven't had a chance to make your acquaintance. Sorry if I'm seeming preoccupied, but I can multitask. Are you doing okay out there on your own? Shacked up with any of the teams out there, yet? Don't know if the League's made an offer yet, but I'm sure the Titans have."

Superboy has posed:
"Right, I am Superboy and..." he looks back at Mon-El. "We met about... well, I guess not in a thousand years. I had no idea the Legion was visiting this time, where are they hanging out? Here?"

He smirks to Power Girl. "Anyway, I don't think I had seen you before, Power Girl. I was wondering if Superman was around, I have not seen him in a while. And, er..." he will try not to stare, honestly! "Nice to meet you, anyway."

Mon-El has posed:
"I would hardly classify staring or perception of staring harassment." Lar points out. This may or may not be because he himself has been guilty of it on several occasions. Well, coming from a place where he pretty much got to get away with whatever he wanted, it shouldn't come as a shock.

At Superboy's question he motions upward. "Mostly on the cruiser in upper orbit. They do come planetside plenty, though. They've been...trying to find ways to fix my amnesia."

Power Girl has posed:
Shaking her head, Power Girl latches onto any excuse she can to stop doing paperwork and pulls herself into a floating "stand," drifting across the room to stand near Lar and Conner. She's smiling the entire way, offering this little shrug as she does so. "Yeah. We haven't seen each other yet, I've mostly been flitting between Gotham and Metropolis. It's good to finally get a chance." she states, offering out her hand to give Conner a- probably unsurprisingly- firm shake.

Her attention then moves to Lar- "The drooling sort of tips me off," she states, only halfway exaggerating, "Have they made any progress? I haven't had much of an opportunity to help you out myself, just yet. I admit amnesia is not an area of expertise for me, either, but I could bone up on it and give it a go. Might be enough just to crack you on the head, give the old gray computer a hard reset." she jokes... Kind of. Probably. One would hope.

Superboy has posed:
Conner offers Karen an honest smile, and shakes her hand... carefully, since he is used to be careful. Which means he is surprised by her strength. "Er... oh, and I am usually in New York lately. Metropolis has Superman so I have always felt a little..." he makes a vague gesture. Because his relationship with his 'brother-template' has always been a confusing thing for the young man.

He keeps quiet when PG speaks of amnesia. It wasn't clear why Mon-El was not remembering him. So it -might- be amnesia and not that he comes from the wrong time period. "A spaceship? Man, I should visit soon." Because... spaceship! Oh, and greet some possible future friends.

Mon-El has posed:
"Well, I have been punched a few times already." Lar admits. "It doesn't seem to help any. But maybe I just need to be punched in just the right way." he jokes. "But hopefully, one of these days, I'll remember my life hopefully remember you, too."

He smiles and nods at the suggestion of visiting. "Yeah, you totally should. In fact, we're planning on having some of our friends up next week. You could come meet everyone then. And you too, Power Girl."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl nods along. "Yeah, I've stopped off at New York a few times, myself. They've just got a lot going on over there, I don't really want to step on toes. Plus, being in Metropolis, means that Superman and I can give each other some definitely needed time off. If you ever find yourself in the area, we can always use the help." She releases his hand at that point, jovial and proud as always.

"Ah, Supergirl hadn't told me about that. I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to stop by, I'm sure it'll be fantastic." her attention turns to Conner, at that point. "You ought to go. No better time than when you're invited."

Superboy has posed:
"Eh? Not much happening in New York since the invasion," replies Conner, looking maybe a bit disappointed. "Well, except a lot of traffic accidents because of the blizzards. Winter came hard this year." He has not seen a supervillain in months! "So, yeah? What has been going on in Metropolis?"

The idea PG can replace Superman is received with a shade of indignation. Which is maybe a little hypocritical, since -he- considers himself Superman's successor. But then he remembers to have heard somewhere Power Girl is also a Kryptonian. So he looks at the woman with renewed curiosity. (Trying to avoid looking at her chest).

Mon-El has posed:
"Supergirl hadn't told you about what? The invitation to the cruiser? Well, I haven't told her about it yet, actually." Lar admits, suddenly blushing a bit. How could he have not even told her about that? The thought hadn't even crossed his mind. "She did mention that you help her keep the city safe."

As for villains, he frowns. "There is this one sorceress who keeps trying to get me to marry her or something. As strong as I am there isn't much I can do against magic." he sighs. "It's...made a mess on several occasions. And I keep worrying she'll show up again."

Power Girl has posed:
There's this mild shrug. "Uh... Necromancers, at one point. The usual sorts of things. Bank robbers, muggers, all sorts of shenanigans, but nothing top-tier or worth really talking about." Power Girl is, as a Kryptonian who has been active as long as this universe's Superman, not necessarily a "replacement" or "successor." She is, however, on par. Anything Clark can do, so can she. For all her bravado, though, she doesn't really talk about it much.

"Lovestruck sorceress, huh? That's a tricky mess. I've found that the real trick to beating magical folk is speed. They can hurt you, and warp the world, but if they can't react to anything that's happening, say if you're repositioning at mach three or four before you hit them, they're still only as strong as they are without their magic."

Superboy has posed:
Conner, on the other hand, has yet to meet Supergirl. Another good reason to contact Superman, really. He should... wait, what? Mon-El having a witch trying to get him to marry him makes him snicker. "Seriously? Man that sounds like a villain from the last century. And yeah, magic is tricky. Fortunately my tactile telekinesis works fine against magic." He boasts.

Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah, I know, but she seems to be really good at sneaking up on me and showing at times when I'd least expect it..." Lar sighs. "Last time, she ambushed me and tried to use some kind of mind control spell or something to make me fall in love with her. Except it just made me go berserk on a restaurant in Starling. -That- was fun." he mutters. "Good thing I have magical -friends- too, who can undo what she does." he shakes his head, the arches a brow at Superboy. "Oh yeah? Well, I could use some help dealing with her, that's for sure."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl folds her arms, offering a nod or two along with the conversation. "To be completely honest, this sounds like a job for the both of you at once." she admits. "I don't know if you can do much about it, but if you have mystical friends, trying to get some sort of edge on when she's going to show up next seems like the next step. Then, when she does, just have Superboy gut-check her into next Thursday." She hooks her thumb at the younger Kryptonian, offering this assuring tone, while just advocating beating the crap out of somebody. It's what works for her.

Superboy has posed:
"Sure thing," says Conner. Well, except the beating the crap out of a woman. He rather not to do that, even if she is a witch. It feels wrong. Like something Kal-El would frown upon doing.

"Who is this woman? I mean. Do you know her name?" Asks the young man. "Gotta agree having a few friends with magical skills is the best thing to get rid of her. Also to make sure she goes to jail for... attempt kidnapping, I guess."

Mon-El has posed:
"Glorith." Lar answers with another sigh, nodding toward the suggestions being made. "Yeah, something like that. Because they can actually figure out how to directly counter whatever she might try to come up with next. And she needs to be imprisoned somewhere designed for powerful people like her. I'm sure the rest of the Legion has a place in mind that I don't remember. I'd imagine it'd be for more than just attempted kidnapping, given the first time I saw her she summoned some kind of giant monster on a bunch of people."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl's brow raises, and she seems somewhat amused by that, for a moment. "I am afraid I can't help you. She has my one weakness, a really funny name, I'm afraid I'd be paralyzed with laughter." Let it never be said that Power Girl was not above levity and, in some cases, mocking bad people. She might have a lot of Superman's sensibilities, but she's definitely not sharing all of them. "Well. It sounds like you guys have all the resources you need, but if you need my help, I'll come flying. Just let me know- or, you know, shout really loud. I'll hear it."

Then, she moves to head back out of the Hall- having not even remotely completed her paperwork.

Superboy has posed:
"I think Glorith is a cool-sounding name, it sounds like something out of Lord of the Rings," comments Conner when Power Girl is leaving. "Yeah, see you later," he adds.

Silly names? Weeeeell... he won't comment about a certain 6' 3" late-20s woman that still calls herself a 'girl'. (Mostly because he is 19 and has the 'boy' in his own name. He really should find a new codename before he makes it to 20).

"I should get going," he tells Mon-El. "But tell me first how to find the spaceship, please. I want to visit soon," he grins.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar nods, chuckling. "Well, you're Kryptonian, right? It's hard to miss, but you can always call if you get lost. I got one of those...cell phone things. And haven't managed to break it yet, which is amazing."

He nods as Power Girl leaves. "Thanks, I probably will. See you later!"
