Woman, I got work to do!
Date of Scene: 12 January 2018
Location: Gotham City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Batman, Catwoman

Batman has posed:
Snow is beautiful when it first falls. The initial sheen of pristine white all over, the muffled sounds of the world which leads one to feeling as if they are the only person in the world... it all combines well to a certain harmony and serenity that lasts for just a slim window. And in Gotham, that window is often much smaller before the grime and the muck of the city turns the fresh snow to sludge.
But tonight, even as the snow continues to fall, for now that serenity is there even as the purity of the snowfall is marred by the spatter of blood. A man in a Tengu mask has his head snapped around by a heavy knee slammed into the side of his skull, the mask crunching under the impact as he falls staggering back and trying to arrest his descent to the ground with splayed hands. Even as the gore hits the ground he spins smoothly, twisting around and lashing upwards with a blurring kick seeking to lash out back at the man in grey and white who just struck him...
Only for that man to no longer be standing there. The Dark Knight spins to the side, dealing with another attacker. A tight black body suit covers this other man, dressed the same as the other save his mask is that of an oni, with leering mouth and fangs and horn. There's a crack that would be louder without the presence of the snow as their forearms slam together, the block shifting to a grasp of the demon's arm as he twists to the side and smoothly takes the man down to the ground with a padded knee /slamming/ hard onto the back of the man's neck. The arm is twisted up and around as Batman braces to snap it across his knee...
Only for a third attacker to enter the scene, a flying kick blurringly fast as a crane-masked man /slams/ his boot in between the Dark Knight's shoulders, sending him rolling forwards, his falling form leaving a heavy trail in the snow.

Catwoman has posed:
There's a sudden crack of a whip, catching the last man's foot just after it strikes the Dark Knight's back and sends him rolling away. The whip wraps around the man's ankle a moment too late and the whip is ripped back, pulling the man's leg, forcing him to do the splits unexpectedly. The goon cries out in pain as his hands drop down to his groin at the sudden stretching of his tendons and landing on his inner thighs.

The whip is recalled and snapped again off to the side as another black clad figure steps onto the bloody snow as more falls around her figure. She holds her whip out and her clawed hand glints in the light.

"You look like you needed some help bats." The shadow shrouded woman says with an audible smirk in her voice as she squares up with one of the combatants.

Batman has posed:
Even as the tengu is using the moment of Bats' recovery to charge towards the man, the Dark Knight spins to the side, catching sight of the cat-burglar. He just has a moment to squint momentarily before the attacker is on him. There's a blur of movement, the heavy impact of arms and legs striking as Batman steps back, kicking up a flurry of snow as forearm finds forearm, and his shin catches the other man's shin. There's a quick /snap/ of a flat palm-strike into the already broken mask of the man, twisting his head to the side as the Bat grasps his wrist and drops back, throwing the man over the side of the building as a faint click is heard.
The man falls straight off and over the side, screaming briefly and then yelping as his fall is arrested abruptly by the snap-twang of grapple line that had been connected to his belt, leaving him hanging there helpless even as Batman swirls to his feet, regaining his stance.
He scowls for a moment, even as they both face their opponents and he tells her sidelong. "Look again."

Catwoman has posed:
"What, you're on a horse. That joke is too old Bats." Selina says teasingly as she does a flip through the air, her heel coming down onto the man she nearly castrated with her attack earlier. The heel of her boot smashing agaisnt the man's nose and forehead with a heavy cracking sound before he rocks back once and tumbles down onto his back and lays there motionless with a heavy stream of blood leaking from his face.

Selina then starts to coil her whip up with both hands slowly and she looks up towards the shadow across the way on the other side of the falling snow curtain that has muffled the world around them, making even Gotham into a very intimate setting. "You do still kick some amazing butt Batman." She says from her small distance.

Batman has posed:
"No time for this, Catwoman." The tall man says as he straightens from his stance, turning away and starting to stalk across the rooftop. To the first fallen he kneels, a pair of thin but strong metal cuffs click into place as he turns the unconscious man over, the snow crunching with each shift of weight. Then he turns and stalks towards her, frowning as he looks down at the man she handled so... precisely. Behind the mask the data feed of the man's vitals are clear, strong, but he lifts a hand to touch the side of his neck as if gauging them by hand.
A moment passes but then he shoves her opponent over onto his abdomen and binds him as well, then rises and touches a fingertip to the wrist display, signalling the location and number to the GCPD even as he turns away from her. "These men already have fourteen felony warrants out for their arrest. They normally work out of Southeast Asia. Something brought them here."
And as he says that he withdraws the grapple line from his belt and brings it up, firing it with a short snap-hiss of compressed gas and the uncurling of the line unfurling behind it. Once it connects with the distant corner of a building it snaps taut and launches him into the air. It'll take some doing, but she can assuredly keep up with him as he swings and then vaults onto a nearby rooftop. Landing and breaking into a run. He'll dash across a roof, leaping onto an industrial air conditioner and skidding across, then rolling under a low hanging pipe.
The chase will lead several blocks away until they reach near the East river and he stops, an old apartment building, a good vantage point for almost the entire line of dock warehouses. It's there that the rush of movement ends and he kneels into a partial crouch near the small wall along the edge.

Catwoman has posed:
Selina isn't quite as well equipped as Bruce, that much is certain, but very few are. The thief does keep up with her own set of skills, tumbling over the same air conditioning unit after she used her whip to close the gap from the two initial buildings.

She sprints nearly as fast at the Bat, but this again is thankful due in part to her lack of equpiment and heavy cowl and gear. She's a lot more focused in her scope and so can do fewers things but on a higher level. Selina is enjoying the chase as she swipes at his cloak with her claws once or twice. The cat playing with her feral prey as he runs towards the docks. She realizes this is more work for the man and so when he stops, she lands behind him in a light four point landing, and slowly stands back up on her two legs.

"Batman?" She asks with her voice lowered into a more husky tone as she walks up behind the man and takes her position next to the caped crusader, hanging nearly over the lip of the apartment building.

Batman has posed:
Just ever so slightly and barely out of reach, perhaps consciously or unconsciously. Yet when the man lands and leans there, one hand resting on the edge of that small wall, she may well see the twin lenses slide down into place over his eyes as he watches the distance. For a time he says nothing. And he says less. A small sphere is taken from his belt with a faint click and connected to the wall with a pair of small hooks. He steps away, and turns to her.
For a time his body language is grim, something the edge on his thoughts. But he seems to shake it away as he steps past her and murmurs, perhaps with the faintest ghost of a smirk, "Nice to see you haven't lost a step."
Their footprints there on that rooftop are the only hints of anyone having been there, that snow pristine still, untouched by others' passage, even as the snow continues to fall slowly. He turns back to her and tilts his head slightly, "Should I be worried?"

Catwoman has posed:
If he'll take the chance to really look, Batman will notice some subtle changes not only in her physique but also her actual face and some height as well. The woman is changing, slowly, glacially, but it's there. Her face is more pointed and rounded at the same time, like her nose and upper lip are beginning to point forwards and merge while also flattening. Her eyes are slowly becomming slitted, and her ears are moving upwards into her hair. She's even beginning to develop a fine coat of fur, but it's something she either isn't pointing out or refusing to acknowledge just yet.

Selina watches Batman walk across the rooftop to be his brooding self. "Of course I haven't lost a step, I was worried about you losing a step." Catwoman winks slowly as he walks past and she is still curious as to what he's doing, but she stays still, out of the way until she can piece it together.

Batman has posed:
The tall man that turns to face her is not one she sees often, not a man she has spent many hours together with. But the time they have spent together has led them to knowing each other well. For him, in his mind's eye, he knows those contours of her features. Knows the way her smile curves those lips, knows the subtle crinkle of her nose even when she smirks. And for her to turn and face him here, and now, what might seem subtle to some... to him is stark.
She'll see his brow furrow briefly as he looks to her. A step brings him closer. Just a closure of that faint distance between them, close enough that when the snow falls between them it seems to almost instantly melt. Then she'll feel the touch of his gauntlet, just fingertips to the supple curve of her cheek. His eyes find hers and she can see the faint cloud there. His lips part and their breath is shared briefly as he inhales.
And then he says quietly, "You've changed."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman turns her face away from the Bat, her arms wrapping around herself in an admission of the guilt of her creeping transformation. She doesn't speak, can't speak as she wants to hide from the world. She shuts herself in, she doesn't know why she thought he might be different, but she does know.

"Can you help me?" The thief asks while still looking away into the clean slate of snow on the rooftop.

Batman has posed:
A hand upon her shoulder turns her back to him and he looks at her, as if she is amazed that she didn't come to her sooner, or for not letting her feel as if she could. His eyes find hers and then he looks to the side, then back. "Of course." Is the first thing he says, his lips still parted as if he were about to say something more. But then he lifts the wrist of his gauntlet up, turning it so the display is clear on the inside and illuminated briefly. He keys in a few commands to set things in motion to already cover his absence from the task he had at hand.
His other hand completes that small caress, as if he were but considering those faint changes upon her skin. But then he says quietly, "Will you come with me?" The words quieter than normal, gentle. Sounding not at all like the man who smashes through windows and causes such horror in the hearts of men.
But then he steps back, though the fingers of one gauntlet are parted as if not knowing what to do with them. He gestures to the side slowly, "We'll do everything we can, Selina." A statement. A promise.

Catwoman has posed:
"I will." Selina says, the scared but head strong and stubborn woman with a hint of the girl within. "But that's not ... I don't want to say 'fair', but ... I feel like I'm at a real disadvantage. Batman." She says the only name she knows, her hand reaching for his before he pulls back with that gesture to the side.

Turning back towards the lip of the rooftop, Selina crouches down slowly with a shake of her masked face and looks down towards the docks. "Shouldn't you finish your work first or...?" She asks trailing off her question.

Batman has posed:
A nod is given to her, his eyes lowering as he acknowledges the truth of her words. But he steps back and to the side, gesturing the way they came as she might hear a faint distant whine above them as a pattern of movement against the night's sky seems to send some of the snow into a swirling whorl of activity.
Another small touch of his fingertip to his inner wrist causes that faint whine to shift louder, then there's a flicker of light across the silhouette of what looks to be a large winged creature, but resolves itself into the shifting winged form of the Batwing lowering itself on the low thrumming pulse of its engines now pointing downwards.
"First things first." He tells her, his features still touched with that consideration, contemplation of the moment and the situation. The lower cupola unlocks with a click as the two seats slide down and into place to accept passengers, the vehicle still hovering. While from the back of the Batwing black disk detaches and flickers up into the air, whirring off and away as the drone's wings snap open, moving to take up a recon orbit around the docks while he tends to this.
He'll wait there, first, however. A hand extended to her for her to join him, to come with him if she wishes. And then he says, "That can wait." His eyes only shifting slightly in the direction of the docks, but then back to her with renewed intent.

Catwoman has posed:
Selina keeps her arms crossed for a moment, looking up at his extended hand and the thick armor up and down his arm. "Thank you." She says as she takes his hand and pulls herself up into the seat of the billionaire's jet.

Once seated, Selina reaches up with her thumbs to hook into her mask and rolles it up over her head and drapes her own cowl around the back of her neck. "Are you going to ignore my previous sugguestion?" She asks almost sarcastically and annoyedly but she tries to laugh it off, despite her situtation.

Batman has posed:
As she gets in the seat she'll feel the vehicle's harness closing and locking into place even as it starts to pull back up into the body of the Batwing. It doesn't restrict her arms or head, just connecting with her hips and shoulders to prepare the passenger for the high speeds of the jet when needed. But it does jolt a touch as it whines faintly and mechanically, then clunks into place while he climbs up into his own seat.
Inside the cockpit she'll see the green displays, the holographic imaging above the console, the dimmed out controls for her side of the vessel but the gleaming glow of his own display as it is already prepping for departure.
His seat locks into place, reclining slightly, but it's only then that he answers her as she asks if he's going to ignore her previous suggestion. "No," He says simply, precisely. Then there's a faint puff of air pressure above her, and perhaps what might be a single instant of a feeling of light-headedness before the gas takes effect when he murmurs.
"I thought I had answered you."
And that's when the engine roars to life, the Batwing twisting slowly and around to the side before the engines flare and the jet darts forth into the night.
