Rogue has posed:
Its afternoon at the Avengers Mansion in Manhattan... not much to do, Rogue wasn't enrolled at NYU anymore since having a falling out with Doctor Strange... who'd set her up to join the Avengers and then she'd moved in here.

The young wayward mutant was on her 3rd mansion in the past 11 months and was on the verge of turning 19 years old in 11 days!

Right now though, she was outside in the backyard with her hands in her black wool coat's pockets, walking around the big fountain and looking at the statue in the center of it. She was bored, didn't have anything to do and wasn't sure where she was going in life... so she just strolled about, minding her own business, or at least trying too.

It was cold out too, so she has a black knit cap on her head, a sweater beneath her coat and some dark pants over black leather boots.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel was one of the busier Avengers, what with untold commitments to Alpha Flight, advisory role to the USAF, and occasional consultations with the CIA and NASA. She was a busy, well respected woman, but also with little time to accomplish everything on her plate. At least now with more involvement from the Canadians, she wasn't needed as often at Alpha Flight.

But when she does come to land at Avengers' Mansion backyard, she's surprised to find a familiar face, and as she lands on her feet, she levels her blue gaze with the woman. "Rogue...? Is everything alright...?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue hadn't heard her land, cause she knew all too well how silent SHE was when she flew about like that. It was Carol's voice that got the teenager to turn around and she put her eyes onto the busy busy Captain Marvel and smiled at her.

"Well heya." She said then and gave a glance toward the mansion to her right and then back to Carol. "I'm fine. All good... I'm, uh, livin' here now?" She's been bouncing all over the place this past year and Carol would likely know that, especially now, finding here at the mansion.

"I swear I'm not stalkin' ya!" She said then, grinning. "Probably looks that way though..."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Living here...?" The surprise on Carol's face can't be masked, nobody tells her anything! "Well, that's nice to find out..." she shakes her head, no doubt wondering whether it's worthwhile or not to tell the idiots she shares a Mansion with how important updating one another is. Regardless, a gloved hand is extended towards Rogue, "well then, welcome home, I take it you're an Avenger now? We don't really operate as a hotel after all."

Carol does laugh as Rogue assures her she's not stalking her, "I didn't think as much...but last I heard you were unsure if you even wanted to pursuit heroics, right? What changed that...? Being an Avenger is quite a commitment to undertake."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue smiled and shook her idol's hand, but she then just laughed softly and put her gloved hand back into her coat pocket. "Yeah..." She told the other. "Doctor Strange and I weren't seein' eye t'eye on all that magic stuff. So I skipped out on it, and he set me up here instead. If I'm an Avengers, ain't nobody's really told me nothing. Only person I"ve even seen in the mansion... other than the employees'n'such, has been Stark. But that was a few days ago. I've just been wanderin' around, goin' out and gettin' food, bringing it back to the room that one'a the housekeepers told me I could stay in." She grinned at Carol.

"If this is what bein' an Avenger is like, I shoulda signed up for it years ago. Its like, I'm literally not asked t'do anything. Stress free." She grinned some more.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"So the Doc actually did teach you magic, eh?" Carol seems impressed, it's not just anyone that Stephen would be willing to teach. Maybe she was right about Rogue after all, good thing she decided to forgive her. "So what was the source of your disagreement?" Carol asks, curious, as she studies Rogue to see how well she's been without asking directly. "Well, this is Avengers' Mansion, if you live here, must mean you're an Avenger...what the hell is going on around here? Who talked to you before you were given permission to stay?" Because somebody deserves to get 'A Talk'<tm>.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shook her head with a little grin at the question. "Not much magic." She told the Captain while meandered a few more steps beside the fountain. "Just a little magic ball of light. Don't do much. I'll probably forget how t'do it here soon enough. And thats where the disagreement happened. He wanted me t'try harder with the magic stuff, I told him it was his thing and I couldn't really wrap my head around it. He's a hell of'a lot smarter than me..."

Rogue looked back at the mansion and then back to Carol. "Clint'n Tony. Clint got me in, Tony just told me t'make myself comfortable. Thats about the jist'a it really."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Hey, to learn English you start with 'A', 'B', 'C', right? I'd say he was teaching you some magic..." Carol was about to suggest she couldn't do a magic ball of light, but she has her way to make sparklefists, so, not quite accurate. "I think you're wrong here...he wouldn't have pushed you if he thought it was pointless, but do what you want to do..." Carol suggests, "if you don't feel like you want to excel at magic, you did the right thing."

She laughs when Rogue explains how she got to stay at Avengers Mansion, "wow, those guys are on their game, huh? If I didn't show up in person to see you I wouldn't have even known you're staying here."

Rogue has posed:
"Yeah... maybe." Rogue said about the magic stuff, keeping the rest of her thoughts on that subject to herself. She certainly was in Strange's debt, but yeah. That was his ballgame, not hers.

A slight shake of her head was given then and she just sighed. "Nah, its cool. I mean, I get it. Ya'll aren't runnin' a house for wayward teenagers. Ya'll go lives t'live'n'shit. Which seems t'be what the others are doin', ya know?" She bit down on her lowerlip for a second and reached up to adjus her hat.

"If I'm not hurtin' anything by hauntin' this place, then alls good, really."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Rogue, would I bullshit you? That's not a maybe," Carol insists, giving Rogue a bit of a glare, before grinning playfully. "And...no, we're Avengers, it's more than that, and I really don't like that neither Clint nor Tony bothered to update the rest of us. That's not right."

"You're more than welcome, Rogue. So, if you're an Avenger and all, we probably should spar a little bit, just a check up on your skills. Would you mind?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue gave the other a big grin at her assurance and confidence and it got a decisive nod in return. She then shook her head side to side. "Ah, don't come down on them over me. I don't want them t'have any ill-will toward me. They're nice fellas, ya know... for old dudes with dad bods." She grinned some more.

At the question of sparring though Marie would glance around their surroundings here in this fancy backyard. "Like right here?" She asked. "Stark said he was gonna do a new Suit-thing for me, but he'd need t'get my stats from the gym after'a few'a my workouts in there. Which I've done morning and night since I got here."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I'll come down on them as much as I want, it's what I do, keep'em in shape," Carol winks at Rogue, "if I don't all will go to hell." She laughs at the mention of 'dad bods', "don't tell that to Clint, he works real hard to hone his body. Tony just uses an iron suit."

"I didn't say blasty powers...though we do have a specialized room for that just like the X-Men," she then assumes a more relaxed stance, "but we can go light...just try and hit me?" Carol offers, "alternative is I try and hit you."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue grinned at that. "Clint's pretty hot, for an old dude... I"ll give'im that. Hear he's shacked up with someone though, so I'll leave'im be." She'd say tehse while she shrugged herself out of that peacoat-style wool garment and laid it down on a bench beside the fountain.

Rogue pushed her sweatshirt's sleeves up and she walked toward Carol.

"Okay, well... this should be, interesting." Rogue grinned at her. "You just wanna beat the snot outta me, for a long time... I know it. Its okay. You deserve t'do it."

Rogue got into a fighting stance, one that would likely mirror whatever it is Carol did when she prepped for a punch.

Within a moment hte southern belle was throwing attacks!

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Clint is one of the most impressive men I've met in my time," Carol notes without a shred of humor, strong compliment coming from her. "He is focused, he knows what he wants, and he puts everything to attain it. I respect that."

She shakes her head as Rogue comes nearer, "oh please, if I wanted to do that, I'd do it on the day I forgave you." She pauses a moment, then notes, "I'll give you that I thought about it, for a moment or two, before I decided to forgive you. I'm sorry about my hesitation."

When Rogue finally comes to strike as requested, Carol smirks, "telegraphed," she notes, before evading Rogue's strike without even blocking it, simply moving aside. "You're in a precarious position now, don't over commit," she notes, "again." She invites, taking a few steps back.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just grinned at the words about hesitating on beating her up prior to forgiving her. "I woulda beat me up." She muttered prior to throwing that punch.

When Carol easily dodged it and offered her words of advice, the southerner absorbed them... (no pun intended) and took them to heart, because she knew this woman knew her stuff. However, she couldn't stop herself from pointing out...

"This ain't really how I use my powers." She told Carol. "I'm more'a the... crash inta people and just smother'em with my awesomenss. Ya know, like in Football."

Even still though, Rogue would try another attack with her balled-up fists. She was fast, for sure, deadly as hell to most... But she and Carol shared a lot, and one of those things was a 7th Sense to detect/anticipate personal danger!

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"That's why you still got some learning to do," Carol is quick to quip at Rogue's genuine words on how she'd act in her stead. "Fair enough...you want to try your way?" Carol offers, looking curiously at Rogue, wondering if she might regret the offer.

This time Carol moves to block the fist with a sweeping arc of her arm, swiping it aside along her forearm, "that was much better, didn't have time to just move..."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue tossed a couple more quick attacks with her fists and Carol dodged them all. She then laughed softly at the other when she offered to do it her way. "God, I don't know about that." She told her. "You're liable t'brush against my cheek or somethin' and then where the hell are we? Back t'square one in our relationship."

She gave a big grin to the woman and side stepped around her, moving in for another jab and strike!

"Besides, ya got new powers now... and I ended up with'em, I think I might lose my mind. I wouldn't even be -considered- for the Avengers if it weren't for what I already took from ya, let alone the X-Men... Hell, I'd probably be dead right now."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol continues the back n' forth of punches and blocks and evasions, grinning, as she notes, "you've gotten much better than I remembered...I mean, your move used to be to just latch on, eh?" A bit of dark humor between the two, can't hold grudges forever, you have to be able to laugh at your own past at some point, or you become an ill, sensitive, fragile being.

"Very well, but I still want to try, we'll do it in the training room, and I'll wear a mask...just not today."

Rogue has posed:
Once Rogue had Carol's back to the mansion she threw another few punches that were also easily doged, ducked, dipped, dived and dodged. And then Rogue, huffing a bit, grinned and nodded her head. "I'll have'ta call ya Captain Luchadore after we wrassle with you in a mask, but hey, thats fine with me." She teased the older woman.

Rogue then went relaxed-posture and she looked over Carol's shoulder. "Oh, hey Tony, look who came t'see us." She pointed her left hand at Carol... hoping to get her to look back over her shoulder.

And if so, Rogue would aim for a hard punch to Carol's fit stomach!

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Oh...I don't know I'd make it as a luchadore, I don't have the flair, my style is very functional, very efficent." Carol is being honest about her assessment of her skills, she knows there's nothing entertaining about how she fights, and one must entertain for shows.

"What? Tony?" Carol does, surprisingly, turn to look behind her, and Rogue's fist strikes true, only Carol doesn't even budge. Instead, a radiant glow flares around her, before fading, "clever. Misdirection," Carol notes, turning to look back at Rogue, "I like it...and there you got my secret."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue backed up after landing the punch and witnessing Carol's strange new power that she'd never seen before. She'd successfully tricked Carol, which was... well, Rogue's style. She was a far more dirty of a fighter than Captain Marvel ever had been, she'd use low blows to win a fight any day!

"Woah. What was that?" Rogue asked her then, not able to really take pride in her successful punch since it was just deflected with the use of what looked like some kind of body shield? "Was that tech based?" Rogue asked the older Avenger.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol looks at Rogue with a smile, pressing her finger to her lips, "don't tell," she remarks, before noting, "I have gone...through life changes of my own, I'm not what I used to be..." she shakes her head when asked about tech, "the trick to beating me, is to never hit me, most don't know that...makes me very difficult to beat," she winks at the younger woman.
