Dazzler has posed:
Normally, classes are held in proper classrooms. Today, however, part of the Performing Arts class has moved to the Rec Room instead. Miss Blaire, a.k.a. Dazzler, isn't wearing her more formal, proper teaching attire. Instead she's clad in ripped jeans, cowboy boots, and a plaid shirt that's tied up around her bare midriff.

Guitar in one hand, she plugs it into an amp she keeps in the room and spins up the volume. Turning to the handful of students, she begins. "Okay, everybody pull up a seat. I know a lot of you think that 'performing' means lights and smoke and lasers in front of a stadium audience. You can -perform- in front of just one other person, or even just a small group. Like this."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky was lurking in the Rec room in a corner chair trying to be part of the wall as she watches the students, who know each other and been here awhile, relax and enjoy the room between classes. Then in comes Allison and her class of students, many of them around her age, and she raises a brow in curiousity. As the last of them circle in around her Vicky gets up and actually joins at the back of the group. She is staring, however, at Dazzler in surprise. She leans in to a student and whispers, "Is that who I think it is?!" Hoping that any student here would know about The Dazzler and her music. Vicky sure grew up to her mom listening to it and so did she.

Dazzler has posed:
Instead of sitting or standing in front of the class, Miss Blaire pulls up one of the beanbag chairs. Flopping back, she stretches her long legs out and crosses her boots at the ankles. "So this is what I've been doing for the past, oh, I'm not really sure how long. Let's pretend this is a bar, shall we? Smoke hanging low, waitresses serving drinks, people spilling beer on each other. And now a light comes up on the small stage..." Out of nowhere a single spotlight illuminates Alison's chair.

"So it's just me and a few dozen drunken strangers. How tough could it be, right? Just gotta relax and let the show... in this case the music... happen." Experienced fingers drag through the opening chords for the Rolling Stones' 'Tumbling Dice', one booted toe tapping the air.

Near Vicky in the back, one of the students half-turns and nods. Hissing softly, the girl whispers back. "Yeah. It's Alison Blaire. The Dazzler. But without the makeup and the mirrored jumpsuit."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky gives a distinct squeek. The kind that Allison probably remembers from her touring days. The excited sound of fans getting to see her up close. "Oh. My. Stars," Vicky whispers excitedly to the other student, litterally starting to bounce. Then, of course, she quiets and listens and stares with the biggest smile she's had in awhile.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler's gaze is distracted by the squeak, but not her playing. The strumming continues, but instead of singing she continues the talk. "So it's just you and the audience, doing your thing. No huge stage show. No special effects. It's literally, performance at its most basic." She pauses, continuing to play some more chords from the song. "Remember how we were talking that sometimes, you need to put on a performance? To act like something or someone you're not? Same thing. Okay... so who thinks I look like Mick Jagger?"

Redstar has posed:
Vicky shrinks a little bit, being that she is probably the tallest of most of the students gathered, at that gaze. Her cheeks turn a little red but she is still grinning like a fool. The rest of the class is past their fan phase, if they had one at all, and soon Vicky sees that and tries to still herself and focus. "Noooo!" She responds with a bit of a laugh as another student or two also denies it.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison sneaks a grin and a wink to the newest arrival as her class tried to decide. A few of them look truly thoughtful, and Alison laughs. "Oh come on..." she protests, a moment before the 'noooo' starts. She stops playing and sets the guitar aside. "Okay, then. So that doesn't mean I can't sing Mick's songs, though. Or play them. It's the same with you. Pretend to be the role. BE the role."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky tilts her head to the side and frowns thoughtfully at those words. "Huh," She says after a moment. "What about stage fright?" She actually manages to ask and immediately regrets it. The wallflower lets her shoulders fall and slumps, trying to make herself look smaller. There is a reason she asked, but now she has peoples attention and that is exactly the thing she is afraid of.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler tilts her head at the question, turning her attention to the new girl. "Actually that's an excellent question. Which is why I strongly recommend you all practice with smaller audiences. Some people like to imagine their audience in their underwear, or wearing something silly. But I'll let you in on my secret if you want..." Her voice trails off, planting the hook. After a moment a few of the kids nod, then more of them. "I either pretend the audience isn't there at all, or I pick out one or two people and I sing to -them-."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky considers that and purses her lips. That makes some bit of sense and she look at the other students thoughtfully. Be someone else, pretend other people don't exist. It was worth a try. "So when do we learn to play guitar?" She's giving it a shot, taking on the attitude of someone else. Someone she knows intimately and who has no fear of people or really anything.
