Laurel's Place
Date of Scene: 14 January 2018
Location: Laurel's new apartment.
Synopsis: Laurel, Drake, Lar, and Kara socialize at Laurel's new apartment.
Cast of Characters: Andromeda, Supergirl, Slipstream, Mon-El

Andromeda has posed:
The second story of an apartment complex called 'Century Plaza'. It's all spacious two or three bedroom places with a view of a nearby park and an outdoor elevator up to the second and third stories. The parking lot is clear of debris and there's a man sitting in the apartment offices who looks like he's actually paying attention to what is going on around him. In other words, it's a pretty nice place to live by all appearances.
Laurel is in apartment 203. There's a welcome mat sitting in front of the doorway with pink flowers hand stitched into it. Even better, Laurel will answer the door within two seconds of a knock to let people inside. Superspeed is convenient that way.

Supergirl has posed:
Deciding to pay a visit to the Daxomites, or at least one of them, Kara has several boxes of pizza in her arms. Mindful of her "human" persona, she tries to juggle the boxes, adjust her glasses and knock in a graceless wobble. "Wuh-woah-hello?" She manages to get out in her best impression of her cousin's rendition of flustered human.

Slipstream has posed:
"Hey there." Is Drake's voice down the hallway as he spies Kara juggling the pizzas. Having not met her before, he figures she is a delivery person of some type. "Let me help you with that. You're actually knocking on the door of my best friend." Today he's dressed in a simple pair of loose destroyed jeans, a black Overwatch shirt with a picture of Widowmaker on it, and a varsity styled Overwatch hoodie. Over one shoulder is a large backpack as well with various toys of gaming heroes dangling off it with plastic hooks.

Andromeda has posed:
The door swings open with a soft thump and there is Laurel. One of the first things one would likely notice is that she's tall. Eight inches taller than Kara, probably. The Daxamite's wearing a short-sleeved white blouse and blue jeans at the moment, blonde tresses allowed to hang freely and frame her shoulders and wide green eyes.
"Drake, I told you Lar wasn't- ah. Hello." There's a brief smile for Kara and then Laurel steps back to qallow the pair to pass. Hardwood floors, a moderately sized entertainment center with a sixty inch television. Plush couch. There hasn't been much decorating done yet but Laurel obviously didn't spare too many expenses for this.
    "Are the pizzas for me?"

Supergirl has posed:
"Yes." Kara smiles and hefts them with a crooked smile. "Lar told me he had a cousin as well who lived here. So you know-one cosmic neighbor to another." She offers, glancing at Drake and tilting her head his way. "Is he from your planet too?" She ask and offers up the pizza offerings so she can push her glasses back up her nose.

Slipstream has posed:
"Oooh. You must be Kara." Drake says as he gets a better look at her, reaching out to take some of the pizzas from her arms with a grin. His eyes seem to twinkle for a moment as he gives a glance to Laurel. "Hey." He says, his cheeks flushing as he gains a goofier grin. "I know, but I thought maaaaybe .. I could say Hi as well to you? I brought you something." He says as he motions to his backpack on his shoulder with a tilt of his head, stepping inside the room after Kara as he gives a glance about the apartment. "This is a really cool place. Nice TV." Nerd.

Andromeda has posed:
"Is it? I haven't used most of this but the salesmen at the Mart of Wal was telling me that these were the bare essentials for modern human habitaiton..." She looks around slowly and then turns back to kara, nodding a few times as she does. "Drake is from - Earth. But he's Lar's best firend and already seems to know everything in any case," she admmits in a vaguely dismissive tone. The pizzas are taken and conveyed with relative ease to a counter. "I'm Laurel .It's nice to meet you, Kara..." A box is being opened up. "Of course you can visit, Drake! Kara. More the merrir. I was just considering what to do for the evening. I- haven't the faintest idea, to be honest."

Supergirl has posed:
"I am. Kara Zor-El." Supergirl smiles and slides her glasses off, inside the apartment. She puts them away and shakes her hair from the sloppy bun it was in. "Much better." She sighs and looks about. "Wow, not bad. Oh, Walmart? It's all one word. Mart of Wal isn't a thing. You didn't go to Best Buy? They have all sorts of tech. Nothing like home-but good for Earth standards." Her tone light and cheerful.

Slipstream has posed:
"Walmart has good stuff once in awhile." Drake says as he gives a grin to the pair of them. When Kara takes her glasses off and shakes out her hair, he gives a wider grin. "Now I see what all the fuss is about." He takes a slice of pizza and flops down on the couch, then opens his bag to slide his laptop out, followed by a cardboard tube that he uncorks to slip out a large poster. He unravels it to reveal a high quality artwork of Zarya, standing next to a hand drawn realistic photo of Laurel in her uniform. At the top it says: Super Girls rule. Beneath it, it reads: Feel the power of gravity! Which happens to be Zarya's tag line. "I got this commissioned for you, Laurel. Since you like Zarya and all and you are both strong women. I know it's pretty dorky but the designer does all the art and media for my Team and he said he'd do it for free."

Andromeda has posed:
"Ah. The sign had both the W and M capitalized. I thought they were simply trying to conserve space." Laurel nods in eply to the information Kara gave her and then turns to Drake as the poster is being unfurled. "This is gorgeous. Thank you, Drake., I'll put it up on the wall. Tere's a lot of bare space..." Let's see. Laurel is off, with just the slight disruption of the air aorund her to mark her passing. She reappears to attempt to hang her poster on the far wall of the room. While she does, Laurel calls out, "I don't think it's dorky at all. And I will try this... Best Buy next," Laurel agrees somewhat solemnly. "But enough of that for now! Shall we eat? Afterward maybe you can help me with some interior decorating... Hm."

Supergirl has posed:
"Eating sounds great." Kara agrees and bats a hand and Drake. "Nothing to fuss about, standard alien fare." She tells him before looking about the sparse place. "Still collecting things for your place Laurel? Do you like Laurel or is there a name you use here?" She asks and looks at the taller woman with a friendly smile before gesturing to the poster and Drake's shirt. "You like video games here? They aren't too slow for you?" She asks and looks at Drake. "No offense of course. I tried Overwatch, it's more fun to watch then to play it I've found."

Slipstream has posed:
"Geez, you're so fast." Drake chuckles as he watches her zip about. "We can go to Best Buy together if you want. I get a corporate rate there with my spnosors so I can get a huge discount on whatever you want." To Kara, he ponders. "I think Overwatch is fast enough I suppose. Depends on how you play it. I'm currently ranked in the top five players in the game world wide and I play hit scans like Tracer, Soldier, Cree and Widowmaker. I got my laptop if you guys want to watch me play. I like to watch other streamers play as well, helps you learn their weaknesses and how they position themselves on particular maps." He lifts the lid to his ROG ASUS laptop, the red logo glowing brightly on the back, his keyboard glowing in a deep red pulse.

Andromeda has posed:
"Honestly, it's incredibly slow. I've been trying but I have trouble with the input equipment..." By which Laurel means that if she gets distracted the mouse can't keep up with her reflexes. She takes a deep breath and then holds it for a second. "I've been watching though," she agrees, nodding at Kara. Out go plates, then slices of pizza. Kara is served first. "Laurel is fine. In my time English names have moved beyond the human diaspora, so it's pretty natural sounding to just keep thingsthe way they are, I suppose." She shrugs as she sets a plate next to Drake's laptop. "I wouldn't mind trying again at some point..."

Supergirl has posed:
Grinning, Kara shakes her head at Drake. "Sorry, I might skip on playing, going as fast as we can with how....with the stage Earth tech is at, it's just not for me. I've broken keyboards typing too fast, too hard." She winces a bit at that. "You don't even want to know how driving lessons went." The joke made easily, getting a few slices for herself. "But yeah, I'm totally game to watch." She nods.

Slipstream has posed:
"Thanks." Drake says as pizza arrives next to him. Once he loads up, he attaches his mouse to the laptop, then shifts to the side with a grin. "Slide in." He says to Laurel. "You can play if you want. I don't mind watching and giving tips if you need it." He rolls the pizza up like a proper New Yorker, then takes a large bite. "And if you break it, I'll just get another one. We got like a whole garage full of loot that we divy out when shit breaks."

Andromeda has posed:
"That's okay, we can watch you," Laurel assures Drake with a positively incandescent smile. She picks up a slice of pizza and then watches as Drake rolls his up. A brow arched Laurel slowly doesthe same before turning her gaze back to Kara. "By the time I got this far I was already used to- controlling outward expression of my power so I haven't broken much yet. Lar has been having some trouble, I'm afraid." Laurel begins to eat. It won't take long for her to work through an entire pizza."

Supergirl has posed:
"I noticed. I had to stop a casino fight he started. I was hoping to check in on him-make sure he's settling in ok. He's getting tripped up on his own shadow." Kara's brows furrow a bit, concerned for the Daxomite. Looking to Laurel she lifts her shoulders. "I get it-my baby cousin grew up to be Superman." Kara does not roll her pizza, she eats it flat. Even Supergirl has her flaws after all.

Slipstream has posed:
"Yeah, poor Lar. It's why he got me, his faithful sidekick, to be his boring buddy and help him out with the awkward stuff." After he finishes his slice, Drake pops in a pair of red earbuds and fires up the 10th anniversary edition of Overwatch. Forty Two heroes now. But he always chooses trusty Tracer. She has barely been touched since the game came out. Completely balanced. He gives a few snaps of his right wrist, then settles his hand over the mouse slowly as his fingers slide into place. The way he moves, it's almost ceremonial. He taps into competitive mode. No warm up, then selects his English talking hitscan character. "Hey guys." He says through the mic as they all greet each other. "No, I'm not streaming today. Just here for some freelo."

Andromeda has posed:
"We've had him on the Legion cruiser working with some our friends to get himself under control. I took him out to the asteroid belt for a bit to, um, practice with hsi superstrength again. It feels really strange to see him like this. Without his memory he's... Weaker." The Daxamite shakes herh ead slowly and then breathes a soft sigh before collecting another slice of pizza. She watches as Drake is logging into the game, shrugging slowly. "I appreciate your keeping an eyeo n him. Even I can't be with him all of the time. Usually."

Supergirl has posed:
"Yeah, well, we hear everything. I'm more puzzled about Kal keeping his distance. Maybe I should talk to him-see if anything at the fortress could help Lar." Kara says absent mindedly as she watches Drake settle in like a musician might. Peering at the screen she looks back at Drake. "You play a girl?" There's surprise in her voice.

Slipstream has posed:
"I don't play just any girl. I play Tracer. Her name is Lena Oxton. The youngest member of Overwatch. She is the most optimistic and eager to help out the team. She is the heart and soul of the video game franchise. The first openly gay video game character that was also the star." Drake says with a slight grin. "She's my favorite. She reminds me of me sometimes. Optimistic. Thrillseeker. Adventurer." As the game takes off, he moves his hero in a blur as she jaunts about. As they converge upon the enemy, he is like a little assassin as he rains down hell with his pulse pistols, dispatching a support player from behind before shunting to the next. He takes absolutely no Mercy on the enemy team. By now, his posture has gone rigid, his eyes darting about left to right as his hand makes quick whip like muscle memory movements with his mouse. "And Lar is my best friend. I'll watch him any day of the week. He saved my life. I owe him."

Supergirl has posed:
"Saved your life? Get into a spot playing your games all savage like?" Kara asks and studies the way his eyes dart about. "Your reflexes aren't bad." She murmurs, leaving off the last bit-for a human. She watches the game and points to a rooftop. "Oh, look there!" Now it's a game of picking out targets as fast as they appear on the screen.

Slipstream has posed:
"A couple of guys jumped me and had me up against a wall. They were trying to steal my stuff, probably a lot worse. He flew in and protected me. I think one of them definitely went to the hospital. He nearly killed him by accident, but he was just worried about me." Drake says as he glances up at the rooftop, but instead blurs forward with two jaunts to pulsebomb the floating healer. "I can't get that guy. Damage drop off won't let me do much but be a distraction. I'm too fast for him anyways." He says as he jerks his mouse over again, zipping down a hallway, then rewinds behind the tank as he pours another round into his head, followed by a crack with his pistol. "After awhile, this just becomes like .. I dunno, breathing. I play fourteen hour days with my team, five days a week. These guys I'm playing against are some of the best in the world. It's a fairly even game. Even if I'm showing off a bit." He gives a slight grin towards Kara with only a tilt of his head. "Lar really likes you by the way. Talks about you all the time."

Supergirl has posed:
Smiling, Kara munches on pizza. "Oh? I like the Prince fine too. I think being on Earth makes things a little more even. Our peoples were enemies in our star system, here we can be friends. I talk about him to Beau all the time too. I think it's sort of exciting to see peace between Daxomites and Kryptonians." She watches and tiles her head. "I do hope he's ok. I was thinking I'd catch him with his cousin. Perhaps next time I'll call first."

Slipstream has posed:
"Oh. Yeah. He told me all about that. You guys kinda got a Romeo and Juliet thing going on with your families. My parents were a mess also. Though I'm sure it's on a different level." Drake says as his mouse hand continues to move about as his character zips here and there, mowing down the last enemy as the game comes to a close and the words Victory are across the screen. "I was talking to him about having the four of us go out to dinner together. You open to it?"

Supergirl has posed:
"You know that book ends with a double suicide?" Kara asks, shocked and shaking her head. "I don't think that's how Lar means it anyway. You know...since his planet had survivors...Krypton was taken out to more or less one family and the odd criminal-it's complicated." Kara shakes her head and gets another slice as she peers over Drake's shoulder.

Mon-El has posed:
As Drake, Laurel and Kara are talking about Lar, there is a knock at the door. Everyone except Drake can probably tell that it's definitely him. He can definitely hear their conversations and it's kind of awkward, although it's not as if it's anything he didn't already know.

Slipstream has posed:
"I'm just talking about the rivalry of two families. Not so much the double suicide part." Drake says as he queues up for another game, then selects Widowmaker. He gives his wrist another few twists and turns as the joints pop, then does a quick clicks on the scope in and out to test the sensitivity. "Sorry to hear about your Krypton. It's weird hearing about all these space wars. I sorta live in a bubble ... you know .."

Supergirl has posed:
"It's...been a while-I guess." Kara murmurs and shakes her head, hearing the door. She looks to Laurel-who seems absorbed in the game and walks over to pull the door open, flushing a little. "Hey. I was going to check on you-I brought your niece some pizza." She says by way of greeting, looking Lar over. She slides her glasses out of her pocket so she can fuss with them to hide her shyness. "Your umm, friend is here..." she nods to Drake.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar stands there, looking shell-shocked for a moment. Which is saying something, given he -already knew- she was in there. He just didn't expect -her- to come to the door. After all it's Laurel's apartment. Not that she was moving all that fast. Still, for some dumb reason, he just looks flabberghasted for a moment as if not really knowing how to respond to this situation.

Then he finally starts to say something, although it's more of stammering. "O-oh...Kara, it's nice to see you, I was just stopping by to see Laurel's new place--" he frowns slightly. "I've...never seen you dress like that before. I mean--not that I don't like it--it's great. I mean, it looks great on you." he says, stepping inside. "Ahem. Anyway," he starts to continue the prior conversation. But -not- the one about his parents and Daxam and their not-so-great reputation on Krypton before it was destroyed. "I've been trying to see if anyone on Earth has some...uh, advice on how to fix amnesia and some people have said that a sudden reenactment of a past traumatic experience might do the trick..."

Slipstream has posed:
"You could also try hypnotism. It helps I've heard, but never tried it myself." Drake says as he continues to play the game, sniping the shit out of the enemy team with his purple skinned assassin. He doesn't glance over his shoulder at the pair, letting them talk for the moment as he focuses completely on the game. Full tryhard.

Supergirl has posed:
"I was umm, watching-well, Laurel and I were-do you like Overwatch?" Kara asks and looks down at herself, human fashion leaning towards bookish. "Oh-this." She holds up the glasses and puts them on, hair back in a sloppy bun. "Normal human look." She shows, turning a bit. "Kal thinks the glasses help with dulling the eyes. He says their too bright to pass for human." She taps the glasses. "They're dumb, but it sells the normal look." She shrugs and slips her hands in her pockets. "I was saying to Laurel that I should ask my cousin if we have anything at the Fortress to help with that-the amnesia thing. But I mean, I bet a shock to the system is worth trying too." She toe scuffs and looks around the place for a topic and gestures to the boxes. "Pizza?"

Mon-El has posed:
"I...yeah, it's..." Lar nods slowly as Kara turns to show the outfit. "I mean--no! It's not dumb at all. Can't really comment on whether it sells the normal human look or not but it definitely doesn't look dumb." Glancing at Drake, he motions casually at his friend. "Drake probably could though."

Then pizza is offered, he takes a piece. "The Fortress? Is that your ship, or...something?"

Slipstream has posed:
"I can do what?" Drake asks distracted as he puts another headshot into the enemy, letting out a 'woo' under his breath. He even impressed himself with that shot as he threaded the needle of that bullet through a window.

Supergirl has posed:
"No. I came in a-no." Kara shakes her head and draws a sharp breath. "The Fortress of Solitude. It's like, Superman's Batcave." She explains and looks at Drake before adopting a wry smile for Lar. "I think your friend is in the zone. I've seen humans like this, they get so focused on screens, it's like a singular thing."

Mon-El has posed:
"Batcave?" Lar doesn't understand that reference, either. "Uh...so...he has bats as pets?" He chuckles at Drake. "You could comment on whether her clothing helps pass her as a normal human, since you know Earth's culture better than I do." he explains.

"In the zone?" He arches a brow at the idiom. "Oh," he nods. "I see. I have seen it happen on Daxam, too. Although sometimes, it's justified."

Slipstream has posed:
"Superman doesn't have a Batcave. Batman has a .. fuck! You asshole." Drake growls out at the game as he gets plugged from a sniper. "Man .. what a shot .." He mutters to himself as his hero resets. "Huh? OH. Yeah. Kara, you're like, really hot. Beautiful, actually. You'd fit in just about everywhere." He grumbles back at the game as he switches off to a new one, then starts up again. ".. gonna wreck that guy so hard .." He mutters.

Supergirl has posed:
"But it's supposed to look umm, how did those agents put it? Mousey?" Kara slouches a little more, or tries to. She tires of it pretty quickly, putting her glasses away and letting her hair back down since it's Laurel's. She goes back to glancing over Drake's shoulder and looking at Lar. "It's Kal's piece of home-in a sense, Krypton I mean. He tries to preserve our history, even if he doesn't fully get it."

Mon-El has posed:
Lar nods, taking the pizza slice and sitting down on the couch to watch some of Drake's game as well. "Ah, so it's a Kryptonian facility of some sort? How did he bring it here? Subspace portal? Teleportation?" He chuckles at the game a little. "That's right, you show him!" he encourages Drake. "Who's Batman? Is he another protector like you and Superman?"

Slipstream has posed:
"Batman is awesome. He's like Gotham's own badass. I've read the papers about him. The dude is so cool." Drake says as he continues to play until the Victory logo appears on the screen. He pops the buds out of his ears as the screen turns back to the main one. "Kara, I don't think you /can/ look mousy. Though the more you try to hide it, the more uncomfortable you may feel. Just be yourself. Besides, with the world full of mutants, aliens and other super powered up dudes, you'll probably pass as pretty normal all things considered."

Supergirl has posed:
"Ummm, more like the scariest I think human ever." Kara shudders. She looks at Drake and makes a face. "Well, I mean, I have this whole human identity, wig and all." Her tone amused as she goes over to the couch, sitting on the opposite side. "The fortress...you'd have to see it. I wonder of the pod's life sustaining setting would help repair your memory..." She considers and chews some pizza, staring at the tv blankly.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar listens to Drake and Kara's very contrasting opinions of Batman, an eyebrow going up. "It sounds like I'll have to do my own research on him, then." he laughs.

"Wait, a human identity? But you don't wear a mask or anything to obscure your features, do you? So how do your alter ego's friends not recognize you when they see you on the public broadcasts? Are you just...careful to always be on the move and never standing still?"

He nods at the suggestion about the Fortress of Solitude. "It might be worth a shot. I wouldn't mind seeing it."

Slipstream has posed:
"I think in this day and age, it's pretty easy to figure anyone out. I don't think glasses and a wig can get past most facial recognition software." Drake admits as he leans back a bit from his laptop, then takes another slice of pizza to munch upon. After a few bites, he gives his lips a lick. "I don't think Captain America hides his identity. Everyone knows who he is. It may be easier just to be a super hero and not list your address or something. I dunno. You guys are all pretty indestructible. Why even bother fitting in? Just enjoy ... I guess the superhero life."

Supergirl has posed:
"No, I wear the glasses, and dress like this and I have a wig. It totally works, humans don't see things as sharply." Kara shakes her head and looks at Drake for a moment. "My cousin and the DEO agents felt I could benefit from getting a more human perspective. Despite my age-which is complicated." She flops back and puffs out a long breath, sighing.

Mon-El has posed:
"Oh--of course. That's true, humans' vision isn't as good." Lar nods. "Still, it seems obvious enough that they should figure it out. I mean, maybe the thought just doesn't occur to them." he shrugs. "But maybe it's because... it would be hard to befriend anyone normal without putting them in danger." He frowns at this, glancing at Drake because he realizes this kind of applies to his own friendship with the human. And his recent scuffles with powerful foes haven't exactly been a cakewalk. Collateral damage tends to happen. A -lot-.

Slipstream has posed:
"Human vision is not that bad, and our technology has evolved in a way that helps us out. I'm telling you, as someone who's entire job is about paying attention to pixels on a screen moving about, I'd recognize you in two seconds with a wig and some glasses on. But that's because I know you. Maybe you'll fool a good chunk of the general population of those who aren't actively trying to /see/ you. But once our eyes and brain picks up on patterns, it's easy from there. At least it's how us gamers work. Everyone moves in patterns. You can literally telegraph them." Drake says as he gives a grin to them. "And tons of superheroes I am sure have friends with us lowly boring and fragile humans."

Supergirl has posed:
"I tried dating humans. It's hard...this world wasn't made for people like Lar and I." Kara admits. "I broke a boy's nose once trying to kiss him." She shakes her head and winks at Drake. "I believe you'd see through my disguise with those quick eyes. But not the others. Though humans as friends are pretty cool, don't have to worry about things on a more ummm, intimate level."

Mon-El has posed:
"That's a good skill to have." Lar remarks to Drake. "I guess what I meant is maybe the human identity helps keep her human friends safe from dangerous enemies."

"-You- broke someone's nose trying to kiss him?" he shakes his head. "Well, now I know I -really- will never try to kiss a human. Or do anything physical with one. I can't even pick up a glass without breaking it." he sighs, his gaze falling. "I know I should be doing better than this by now, but..."

Slipstream has posed:
There is a slight snort from Drake as he gives a glance over to the other two, then shifts up on his knees a bit. "So, is that a subtle hint I should give up on asking Laurel out? That I'm gonna be stuck in the friend zone?"

Supergirl has posed:
"I mean, my cousin makes it work! He grew up on Earth though. I've only had a few years to adjust. It's different for everyone." Kara waves her hands hastily and looks at Lar with a snort. "Have I told you how driving went?" She asks and shakes her head, relaxing a bit. She's not as bold and confident outside the uniform. She tucks a knee to her chest and looks at the two boys. "And you'll adapt to Earth Lar, just give it time-and maybe don't rush into dating humans until you can handle kleenex with out shredding it."

Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah...you told me about the driving thing." Lar nods, recalling that conversation. He watches her go into a pseudo-curled up position, then gets up and sits down next to her on the other side of the couch, patting her on the back. "Don't worry, I'm sure I'm way worse than any mishap -you've- had." he assures. "...Kleenex?"

Slipstream has posed:
Drake closes the lid to his laptop with a light click, then slips it into his bag. He winds up his mouse and tucks it away as well. Rising up to his feet, he slides the bag over his shoulder so that it can hang loosely. "Well .. I should get going I guess. Maybe ... do some practice or whatever." He shifts his jaw slightly. "It was nice to finally meet you, Kara."

Supergirl has posed:
Looking up, Kara glances between the boys. "Oh, I can scoot-if I'm interrupting. I came by more so to introduce myself to Laurel anyway..." She murmurs and rubs the back of her head lightly. Looking at Lar she adds on "Kleenex is a sort of thin paper to wipe up things or blow your nose into. And it tears like nothing. I used to have to practice pulling out a sheet at a time and smoothing it flat, folding it...I hate tissues."

Mon-El has posed:
"It was nice seeing you, Drake." Lar nods as Drake gets up to leave. "Hope you can beat that guy who beat you earlier." he chuckles.

"Oh, no you're not interrupting anything." He listens to the description of Kleenex. "Oh...that...does sound awful." he chuckles. "But maybe that's something I should try to see if it helps me get control of myself." A sigh. "At least they aren't too valuable I assume? So it wouldn't matter if a bunch of them got shredded."

Slipstream has posed:
There is an awkward moment as Drake stands there, then rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll beat him." He says as he heads for the door and opens it up, stepping out and letting it close behind him with a gentle thump.

Supergirl has posed:
Watching Drake go, Kara looks at Lar for a moment. "Do you think I upset him?" She wonders, looking concerned briefly. "Come to think about it, I haven't seen Laurel either....maybe I presumed to much coming to see her and you." She looks back down, picking at a seam in her sleeve to fidget.

Mon-El has posed:
"I...uh..." Lar begins awkwardly. "I don't know. I don't -think- either of them looked upset." he replies, glancing around tentatively. Where -did- Laurel get off to? "Honestly, you're probably more perceptive than I am when it comes to this kind of stuff. You know more about Earth, at least."

Supergirl has posed:
"I have studied to be like Kal and fit in. It doesn't come easily. It still doesn't feel quite like home to me. But I'm out of the pod, so I'm grateful." Kara admits. She lets out a breath and offers Lar a smile. "I think you're doing fine. I had Kal and Diana, and the DEO to help me acclimate, you're figuring things out more or less for yourself. If Kal will let me take you to the Fortress, we'll see if anything there jogs that memory of yours."

Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah...yeah it definitely...doesn't." Lar says slowly, his voice sounding somewhat distant as he watches her face light up with that smile. He just...can't take his eyes off of it. "...I--thank you. For all the help you've been offering. I'm still kind of amazed that a Kryptonian could...actually get over uh, you know..." he trails off, not managing to finish that thought. It's like he's transfixed or something.

Supergirl has posed:
"Oh. Well, you know-fresh starts. You're obviously not like-how I remember people saying Daxomites were." Kara shrugs. "My people are more or less dead-and nearly took out yours. It'd be pretty preposterous to not do my best to help you-and honestly, I kind of figured you'd think the worst of me for what happened to your planet..." She admits, her expression open, vulnerable. She doesn't have to put on the confident front of Supergirl. This is just Kara, sitting on a couch after scarfing down pizza like a normal day. She props her chin on her knee, looking back at him-still hugging her leg to her chest.

Mon-El has posed:
"To be honest, I thought I would too..." Lar admits to the comment about thinking the worst of Kryptonians. "I mean, I grew up being taught you were all self-righteous elitist snobs, and when it happened--when Krypton brought about its own destruction--that was just proof it was all true and they were right all along. But...I don't know, when I saw -you-,"

He pauses a moment, lifting her chin from her knee a little with his hand. "it wasn't like anything I'd ever imagined. I just -couldn't- be angry, or spiteful toward someone so beautiful. And not just -pretty- beautiful. I mean, I've seen plenty of attractive girls--certainly could have had any of the ones on Daxam I wanted--but none of them were anything like you. From the first moment you saw me you...-cared-. About a stranger. Even one your people never really got along with. And you -didn't- just write me off as a loser."

Supergirl has posed:
Searching his face, Kara's eyes widen slightly and she sits back, letting out a breath. "I ummm, it's just not the sort of person I was raised to be." She slides off the couch, checking her phone. "And I'm way over due for a check in with the agents baby sitting me." She tells Lar quickly, tucking her hair behind her ears. "Let's...hang out again soon, go on a patrol or something." She offers and pops her glasses back on, fussing with them and tucking her locks in a sloppy bun. "You've never seen my adopted sister and I fight over ice cream or the bathroom in the morning." She points out. "I'm only a normal girl-promise." She tells Lar and scoots out the door hastily, calling up her foster parents. "I know- I know- I said an hour tops." She can be heard, flashing Lar a smile as she props her phone to her head with a shoulder and closing the door with a wave and a mouthed "Later".
