Cast of Characters: Shadowlite, Black Queen

Shadowlite has posed:
Chinatown. It's a nice place for some, not so much for others. Shadowlite is not a fan of Manhattan at the best of times, but you do what you have to do.

Shadowlite used to be a fairly low profile mutant. His name still a mystery, he was thrust into public scrutiny by Rising Tide. Sure, he's still difficult to track down, but now people know taps into the Darkforce Dimension, and of his existence.

In some ways, this was good PR for him. But it also made him a target for those interested in mutants or Darkforce.

Lately, he's been very publicly chased by demonic forces across the planet, showing up in various cities, before disappearing. Their fights doing minor damage to the surroundings, before he portaled somewhere new. That global chase lasted two days, and ended very publicly right here in New York.

Now, he's standing on the edge of a tall apartment complexes rooftop, staring towards time square with his hands in his trenchcoat pockets... itself fluttering slightly with the winter wind. On his back is a shotgun, itself looking kitted out as he waits.

The message had been dead dropped about an hour ago, and Shadowlite has been spending his time browsing the internet via his wrist-comp, a PIP in his AR goggle.

Black Queen has posed:
An apartment complex, the rooftop, so gotham. Selene got the message and she's not so much late, always, as she doesn't hold much regard for time. This seemed urgent and the message was provided at the proper location. Since she's meeting Shadlite she's coming in her Black Queen outfit, a very expensive black fur-lined coat, some mostly translucent stockings and a pair of not-so-concealing boyshorts. It's essentially, less clothes than most women would ever dare wear. Here she is though, coming out of the rooftop entrance and walking along the rooftop easily even in her ridiculously high-heeled feet. Even though it's clear she's not wearing any top other than the coat, from the way she keeps it open in the front, she's still covered enough to not be flashing anyone but it just wouldn't take much to do so.

"Oh, hello. Good to see you again. Was there something that you needed? Perhaps a fence for your goods? I have found a contact that you were interested in, so I figured I would bring along their information as well." She smiles as she walks towards Shadowlite slowly, though more looking out into the city that exactly at him.

Shadowlite has posed:
As Selene steps out into the rooftop, Shadowlite turns to regard her... and his head visibly goes up and down as his eyes take in her outfit. "I like the outfit. If you were anyone else, I'd probably be tempted to make a pass." Shadowlite comments, his voice scrambler in full effect, before he nods. "I can appreciate the interest in keeping a potential asset tended, but I'm here with a warning." Shadowlite turns his head to the side, then gives a side gesture out to the times square area. "I get the impression you're a power in your own right, and that you have a vested interest in the world power staying as is. Correct?"

Black Queen has posed:
Waving a hand dismissively at Shadowlite's comment, Selene just walks up to the ledge and looks down over the long distance to the ground and just says, "Yes yes, I am gorgeous. I know." She gives you only a sidelong semi-bored look till you suggest there's a warning. Her bored look gets that much more bored till you offer a vague question. Selen hrms a little at that, and she looks over at Time Square, casting dark eyes down across the ground. She offers a small wave off toward the landscape, "This, is a world. Just one. Such as it is, it will change, it will tumble it will fall. And it will rebuild itself. There are few things in this world that can disrupt that cycle." She smiles lightly and turns her head in your direction, "What is the warning that you have, that is so dire you think this continuous, almost uninterruptable force, might be offset?"

Shadowlite has posed:
He watches Selene come to the edge, keeping her in line of sight, but not moving yet. "Ever hear of an entity called Satannish? He's about to open a gate through a living anchor here. It's supposed to happen saturday, in times square, to invade our world. Does that get your interest?" Shadowlite inquires

Black Queen has posed:
There's a small quirk of Selene's well plucked eyebrow as she smiles large, white teeth showing behind her perfectly plush lips. She laughs, its one of those hauty, almost sinister laughs that are only heard in child fables. It echoes from the rooftop and around as she seems to... be giddy with the news? "Satannish, coming, to Times Square? Oh, my boy, dear boy, yes, it interests me." She takes in a deep breath of the air and closes her eyes to smell it, letting it out slowly as she opens her eyes only half-lidded and wonders, "Do the people know? These people, the little ones who scurry across the street for lattes? And where did you hear this news? How can it be that you know so precisely when this is to occur?"

Shadowlite has posed:
"I heard it from a fairly reliable source, but it could also be wrong. This is me giving you a heads up as both a warning and a favor." Shadowlite gives in reply, looking back to Selene. "I'm going to be sending some tips around for people to prepare, as it is."

Black Queen has posed:
There's a soft pause as Selene still is smiling, amused really, "A fairly reliable source? There are only a few people on Earth who would even know of Satannish let alone what it means that he is coming through a gate." She thinks for a moment, "Have you warned the good Sorcerer Supreme? I am sure he has something up his whimsically cloaked sleeves." She offers before taking in another breath, "Though, it should be entertaining to watch at least. And, such a force, has but one goal. There is the chance I might be convinced that goal is counter to my own... with some thinking." And then she quirks her mouth to the side a little, "I do not owe favors, but is there something that I could do for you?" She does pull out a piece of paper with almost calligraphy level penmanship on it, and hands it over, "This was the consultant you had requested, as payment, in part for the last job. I also saw that you have become quite popular on the internet."

Shadowlite has posed:
"Getting caught in the middle of an information war between hacktivists and SHIELD while this shit is going on has not made this one of my better weeks." Shadowlite grunts in agreement, before he takes the piece of paper, looks at it, presses a button, and records a snapshot of it with his AR goggles. Then, he hands it back over. "I've got some alien material that'll probably need someone better, but the rounds from the previous job might be worth checking this guy out for. I'll keep in touch. As for the Sorcerer Surpreme... I don't actually know how to contact him."

Black Queen has posed:
There's a slight nod at the hacktivist thing, and SHIELD, "Well, do not worry, I am interested in what they are doing as well. This week has been very entertaining, and you have played a large role in that." Selene offers in your direction, and says, "I very much believe that excitement is the spice of life. Satannish may be a bit on the hotter side of things, pun intended, but it is good for us. Keeps us on our toes." There's a look at you as you 'snapshot' the paper and hand it back, she just tosses it off the side of the building where it crumbles into dust and then gets taken by the wind. "Well, Doctor Strange is a hard man to track down. A boring mess of a man, but still useful in times like these. If you are, for whatever foolish reason, going to show up tomorrow perhaps I will see you around. Bring shorts, it will likely get very hot."

Shadowlite has posed:
"I prefer elastic heat resistant shells, but I'll consider shorts." Shadowlite quips, before he pulls the shotgun from his back, checks the magazine, pulls the charging handle, and puts it into an idle stance. "That makes one of us. I'll probably have to have a chat with a few people over it. Anyway, message delivered. We'll see how it goes." Shadowlite gives, before he steps backwards, off the roof.

Black Queen has posed:
Watching as Shadowlite steps off the building, Selene waves lightly to him and turns her back to the fall. She knows he can teleport, she may have known before the Rising Tide article, but now for sure. And she doesn't seem impressed by much, so she doesn't wait to see how he gets out of splatting on the ground. And she'll go off to where ever the extremely rich women of this city go when they are a day from hell being unleashed.
