Cast of Characters: Redstar, Rift

Redstar has posed:
Most students have turned in or are up in their rooms studying. Or in the entertainment room relaxing. The darkness didn't totally hide the figure standing outside. Vicky eyed one window specifically as she nbbled on her lower lip. In her hand she held a greeting card size envelope. She looks down at it and then back up uncertainly. o O (What if this just makes it worse?) She thinks to herself.

~You cannot live your lifes with ifs and butts. You wanted me to help you be more bold. I told you to just talk to her, but you're too chicken.~

"I am -not- chicken!" Vicky says hotly out loud, startled from her silence by the comment. Starr always knew just what to say. So she lept easily up and flew over to Rift's window. These old buildings have wonderful little ledges on their windows and so she easily grabbed on, keeping herself up without flying. Then she knocked on the window, letter left for the rain to devour.

Rift has posed:
Rift was doing her homeworld... stretched out on the ceiling of her room, working on some calculations. She sees the figure at her window, eyebrow raised. She maniuplates the clasp with her gravit ypowers and opens the window. "Hello, Vicky," she states as she grabs her book and papers and descends back to normal orientatoin.

Redstar has posed:
Vicky looks around the room and then notices Rift on the ceiling. That never gets old and she smiles a little as she opens the window. "Hi Kitora," She says as she awkwardly climbs in the window. Wings and all that. As she straightens she looks at her worriedly, "...how are you doing?" She asks.

Rift has posed:
Rift smiles. "I'm doing fine. Mr. Summers assigned some extra homeworld becuase he's leaving on vacation for a bit. So I was just trying to catch up on it so I can have some free time. YOu look pensive... what happened?"

Redstar has posed:
Vicky's eyes fall to the floor and she sighs with a bit of relief. "I...ummm...Did you not see the YouTube video?" She asks worriedly.

Rift has posed:
Rift blinks. "I tend not to use Youtube." She shrugs. "I heard about a bunch of weird demon stuff on the news..."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky's face becomes pinched and she looks at Rift with eyes that have 'seen some shit'. "Yeah...and, um, the Rising Tide too," She pulls out her phone and swipes it on, flicking to youtube and the video. She passes the phone to Rift to watch. It's easier than her explaining.

Rift has posed:
Rift just watches. She is confused. "So... ummmmmm.... I don't get what's happening here," she murmrs after watching.

Redstar has posed:
"You...right. You weren't there," Vicky says and sighs, scratching at the back of her head. It may be then Rift notices that somehow her hair has grown over a foot since the last time she saw her. And it is not longer a light auburn, but varying shades of red with bands of black weaving through it. "That's me," She says and taps herself in the video, throwing Rainmaker to the ground. "Well...Starr. I have a demon tied to my soul."

Rift has posed:
Rift blinks. "Oh... nice hair..." she muses softly. "Well... ummmmm...." She blinks. "So demons are a real thing?" she asks, pondering as she closes the door. "That sounds like it could be a problem."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky watches Rift thoughtfully and something seems to come to her. "You don't remember...oh thank the stars," Vicky says and slumps slightly, taking her phone back. "Yeah, they exist. Mine just happens to be part human now, so she isn't bent on creating panic and mayhem," She says with a dry chuckle.

Rift has posed:
Rift suddenly changed from vague interst to hyper-focused. "What do you mean 'I don't remember'?" She stares at you. "This explains why you came in here all of a sudden. Mind explaining what you mean?"

Redstar has posed:
Vicky nods her head and puts her hands up, "It's why I came here, actually. To make sure you were okay. A number of demons set a trap for Rikki...It possessed her, piggybacking another demon with it to pass on to someone it felt would be useful. That would be you. You've got, what, 24 hours missing?"

Rift has posed:
Rift blinks. "Ummmm... you'er kidding, right?" she asks. She sighs. "Of course you'er not. I thought I just lost a day - got really tired."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky looks extremely guilty and shakes her head. "I'm not. I'm so sorry. You...might find you have a few extra things in random places. The demon that possessed you was called Greed," She says, having a hard time looking Kitora in the eye

Rift has posed:
Rift ponders. "I honestly haven't found anything like that. If something like that did happen... I don't remember it. It wasn't me then."

Redstar has posed:
"No it wasn't. And that is why I was relieved you didn't remember. They were hoping to find me, so it's my fault. And I wanted to say sorry, even if you couldn't remember." Vicky says, managing to bring her eyes up to meet hers. Genuine pain is there, knowing some of what Greed was like from Starr's memories.

Rift has posed:
Rift nods. "Did... that... vermin... use my body to do something terrible?" she asks as she gives you a hug. "You didn't do it on purpose. I forgive you."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky hugs Rift back tightly, tighter than she intends with her newly develloped strength, then loosens it the second she notices. "Robbed a bank I think?" Vicky says, sniffling into Rift's hair. "I was so scared you wouldn't want to see me again. I don't really have many friends."

Rift has posed:
Rift blinks. "Wow. Too bad I don'tremember - I could be rich." She hugs back. "And... ummmm... you need to be careful with hugs. I think you'er stronger than before."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky pulls back and scrubs at her eyes as she nods. "Yeah, sorry. I'm still getting used to the changes, sorry," She says with a smile. "That whole demon thing has some perks I guess. Probably don't have to worry about sleezebags getting in my face anymore."

Rift has posed:
Rift hmmmmmmms. "Yeah. So..." She ponders. "Perks are good. I found perks in my situation - I wish I knew where my parents were. I've lost contact with them... I guess they didn't like the fact that their daughter was a mutie who tried to kill them - in their eyes."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky looks down at her hands and her smile becomes a little wan. "I'm sorry. Kind of know how you feel. Mine stuck me in an institution until the breakout," She says with a sigh.

Rift has posed:
Rift shrugs. "Except it's very hard to hold me anywhere when I can open a portal." She smiles. "So... that's how I ended up here. Best six years of my life... only thing I could change... is my parents coming for graduation in a few months."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky chuckles dryly and nods, "I was thinking before all this happened about seeing if I could do a modified coursework so I could get a diploma. But I can't be here everyday and now..." She sighs looking at the phone in her hand and then tucks it away. "But I'm glad you are okay. And...I'll be there in a few months. I know it isn't the same, but I'll come."

Rift has posed:
Rift nods. "You can't dedicate to a diploma? Maybe keep working at it and go a year late? It's an option. Don't give up on your future. I... I hate to ask but is there any way an exorcism can help?" She trials off. "Or does that not really work in real life?"

Redstar has posed:
"Oh they work. Just...not on us. Our souls are merged," VIcky says, lacing her fingers together and then hooking them tight by way of example. "And exorcism pulls a demon out of a body. It would literally tear our souls apart. And...she isn't so bad. She's the reason people were there to stop the thing in Times Square." She was also the cause of the thing in Times Square, but that wasn't her idea.

Rift has posed:
Rift nods. "Ah... so..." She trails off. "So you're not going to go all supervillain on us, are you?"

Redstar has posed:
"No. But part of why I can't come here every day is because I'm going to be training. Learning how to be useful because...I'm not gonna let a bad thing be a bad thing," Vicky smiles a little at her own words.

Rift has posed:
Rift smiles softly "Training is good. I'm doing an advanced study program myself. I'm learning how to maniupalte stuff at range. But far away I can't lift much with my gravity powers." She gazes out her window to some kids playing volleyball. A distance of 300 feet. She gestures, as one kid was about to spike the ball - and right as they hit it she focuses and the ball just glows red and holds in place, quivering. As everyone gawks, she has the ball fall back down on the ground on the spiker's side of the net. She pulls back, grinning widely. One of the kids even glares in the general direction of her window, suspecting something.

Redstar has posed:
Vicky ducks her head to get a good look at what Rift does. Then she smiles broadly as she sees the glow and ball drop. "You're going to find some practical joke played on you, you know?" She says as she shakes her head. "I should get going, though. I can't stay. I'm trying to lay low and I really don't want to talk to Miss Grey right now."

Rift has posed:
Rift smiles softly. "I can do discrete exit..." She smiles softly. "Here." She gestures as a portal tears open, showing a pond in the woods out back. "I like this place - I come here to meditate sometimes. If you need a way to sneak in and out, just call me and I can open a portal there."

Redstar has posed:
Vicky grins broadly at the portal. Then ducks in to give Rift another hug. "I will. Text me okay?" She says and then peers through. "I'll see you soon." As she steps through the portal she takes two leaping steps and then jumps high into the air. Super strength makes getting airborne much easier.
