Weighing at the Market
Date of Scene: 30 January 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Lorna and Victor loosely discuss not getting in each other's way.
Cast of Characters: Sabretooth, Polaris

Sabretooth has posed:
Creed is a walking challenge to to many of the street, when he is deliberately walking in broad open daylight and spaces. A comfortable thing to get to do here in Genosha though, as opposed to other places that might take immediate extreme issue with the somewhat obvious mutant taking up space that he feels is more than his due. The big mutant is walking the market, pale eyes moving over the wares, hunting something... with some displeasure, since this isn't something so easily hunted by scent. Objects don't leave trails. He grumbles a little bit, giving an unnecessary glare to somebody that gets too close to his personal space for his liking. They veer off. Victor always gives off an aura of menace: it's just what DEGREE that aura is which varies. It's not an extreme level, but still:

Victor hates to shop.

Polaris has posed:
Also in the market place is Lorna. Her presence the opposite. People are drawn to the heir, having worked hard to keep war from their island. The green haired mutant in loose gray silk slouchy pants and a black shirt. She greets everyone who passes close warmly. Only her white eyes and the faint glow of energy about her belies she's looking out for weapons. She's not here to shop so much as show face. She's still devoted to protecting the people.

Sabretooth has posed:
Creed does carry metal, in addition to hidden dog tags, he does also currently have two hidden guns on him, and they're loaded, of course: expensive and high quality handguns, well suited in size to his large hands. No knives - he doesn't need them: one good look at the two inches of talons on his fingers would make that reason abundantly clear. He suddenly orients on a passerby and swings around neatly to follow them, having caught a particular scent. He fades almost expertly into a shadow, with a long trained military movement into silence, tailing the person he picked out. He observes them as they are greeted by Lorna and continue on.

Creed comes back out into the main market, still tailing, but coolly looks to Lorna, weighing her: no doubt aware of who she is, but judging for himself which of it is true.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna pauses to hear out vendors complaining. A lot of countries has made trade with Genosha a challenge. She nods as they gripe, bringing up the hit to their incomes. Eventually it's enough of the same and she leans onto the nearest counter looking at them all. "We are under the eyes of the world. We can cry for the wrongs done by us, or we can prove what a nation of mutants can do. We'll look into online markets while we negotiate for better deals with the other nations. Give it time, do not break." She advices the whining merchants and moves on.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor Creed listens to, well, everything that was said by Lorna, in addition to what his curious 'mark' was saying down the way. While the scent made him suspicious of something, he lets it go for now. He could always pick that up later. Instead he diverts, coming along with Lorna. He doesn't particularly mask that he's doing so: not really. Besides, he tends to make many people uncomfortable just by existing, and it will be interesting to him to see if she is, or if she's made of sterner stuff than that.

Polaris has posed:
Letting Victor follow with out comment for a moment, Lorna eventually looks up. "You're going to make the whiners nervous to come talk to me." She tells him frankly. "That's what this whole exercise about. Letting them air their griefs so we can all get back to being a productive country." She tells him and links her fingers behind her back. "Are you working today?" She wonders after a moment. "You're loaded to bear."

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor grants her a grin full of fang and a relaxed shrug. "Ehhhh, they say more after they're done 'talking' that I can hear, too, after ya turn away," the cat lazily observes, tilting his head, and approaching more fully. He likes making people look up at him, though it isn't particularly intentional: just habit. "Always workin', lately," Victor adds, but it isn't with dismay. He likes 'work' a great deal. "Aren't you?" he asks, with a bit of edge, jerking his head towards the city in general.

Polaris has posed:
"Of course they do." Lorna nods and cants her head, looking up at Victor. "I am working, yes. Always working. Since father's missing." Her tone dry as she keeps to the narrative. She ambles through the market and doesn't seem to begrudge the space provided with Victor at her side. "So, who is employing a gun totting kitty cat these days?" She asks airly, the X-Man's lips curling into a smile as she arches her green brows.

Sabretooth has posed:
"Sometimes people that prefer to be silent. Or missing," Victor says sleekly in answer, not leaving much up to guesswork on that one. On purpose, of course. "But in between? Sometimes whoever pays best. And there's always somebody," he adds, shrugging a little. He doesn't even remotely take offence to the kittycat comment, it appears. At least not from her, anyhow. "Mostly guard duty," he scoffs. Not his favorite.

Polaris has posed:
"If the missing felt I needed a companion I am going to ensure they stay missing." Lorna glowers briefly and looks back from the way they came. "I do hope we won't be finding an up tick of bodies. At least lure them to Madripor. That's where I leave all my bodies." She tells Victor with a crooked smile. She did make some noise in the neighboring country slaughtering Hand ninjas and manipulating metal based poisons in Logan's company.

Sabretooth has posed:
A soft snort of derision follows her comment about said missing person(s). Victor looks insulted. "I don't leave messes unless there's good reason," he informs her, with a smirk. "...or if I'm not paid enough to care," he adds, picking his teeth a little bit. "I don't much care to lure, but, well, so many people are so easy to spook, and when they go elsewhere, well," Victor says in answer, without any particular qualms. He got her point, she'd rather them elsewhere. He'll work with it, within reason.

Polaris has posed:
"The deal is the deal. I won't get in your way if you don't add more work to my load. Running a country is work enough." Polaris tells her companion and tucks her fingers into her pockets as they walk the market. "I think maybe a year ago I would have been nervous to walk about in your company, but I wasn't feeling the weight of the crown more than my X-Man belt." She tells him and looks back up at Victor.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor narrows his eyes a little bit, with a sort of leer in response to her being nervous to walk about near him. "Doesn't make too much difference to /me/, but I'll take the easier path t' get my work done, and sounds like that means you just don't want to know about it. Yep. Just hope your X-Man belt can stomach what that sometimes means," Victor says, amused with prodding a little bit there. Victor often has an unsettling, dark playful edge. It's that serial-murderer-for-fun-or-profit vibe.

"If your crown brings in some more death threats, look me up. Well. If you're sure I'm not worse than those, that is," Victor says, amused.

Polaris has posed:
"Better the wickedness I know." Lorna smiles and lifts her shoulders. "I've been telling the team for ages at some point I won't be able to walk the line between my duties here and being an X-Man." She shakes her head. "You know the team, ever the optimists." She tells him after a moment. "No one's made a play on me yet. But-if other parties are pushing for the war I keep squashing it's a matter of time. It wouldn't be a bad idea to keep someone capable around." She murmurs thoughtfully.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor Creed rolls his shoulders in a languid, and indeed lazy catlike, shrug. He hooks his thumbs some onto his belt, other fingers with the long talons loose and... as relaxed as they get, really. He's comfortable and confident in and with his mutancy. "Capable of a great many things," Victor smirks, clicking his tongue against his teeth once, but then shrugging. "Missing 'persons' know how t' find me. When your squashin' ends," Victor smiles vaguely, and takes one easy step to the side, by way of smoothly starting to part from her personal space.

Polaris has posed:
Watching Victor start to peel off, Lorna nods subtly and continues on her path. "You know where to find me. It's the big metal house." She murmurs and flicks her glance briefly his way. The only indication she seems to give by way of a good bye. Magneto's daughter walks tall, proud. Feet carrying her to the stronghold she's ruled out of for months.
