A visit from Snowball
Date of Scene: 31 January 2018
Location: Drake's home
Synopsis: A robot messenger seeks out Drake to "chat"
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Slipstream, Green Lantern (Cruz)

Iron Man has posed:
Outside of the window comes a tapping sound.

Tappity tap. TAP.

Then with more annoyance, TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP.

There is a floating robot about the size of a volleyball just outside the apartment's main living room window, when then curtain or shade gets drawn aside. It looks very, very similar to Mei's robot, Snowball, except that it is gold, not blue and white. It has two blinking eyes on the front screen, though, and whirring components keeping it aloft at the underside and back head areas. It's simply THERE, with no explanation apparent.

Slipstream has posed:
With his large headphones on his head, Drake is currently hunched over his computer which has a trio of high end displays above a large glowing green computer. He is currently in the middle of a game as he calls out comms through the large microphone that is mounted on his desk. As the words VICTORY comes across the screen, he gives a glance over to his chat, then squints his eyes as they seem to be trying to call out his attention to something over his shoulder. "What?" He asks as he leans forward, then looks over towards the window. He blinks his eyes for a moment, then panics as he pushes back his chair and yanking his headphones off. "Holy crap. Um..." He pauses, pushing himself up to his feet. "Is that... Snowball?"

Iron Man has posed:
'Snowball' spins in a little circle. Maybe it's a special new skin for Snowball, to be bright gold?

Incidentally, it does seem pleased that it was noticed outside the window. It blinks a few times expectantly. No doubt if this is streaming, this is certainly some special stuff going on right here for those viewers!

Slipstream has posed:
The chat has become furious now as they spam random emotes and other phrases of shock and awe. Drake inches towards the window for a moment, then says, "Hi. Um... are you able to talk? Is this a Blizzard promotion or something that I missed the memo on?" He glances down at his phone, scrolling through some of the notifications. On his left wrist is a large glowing bracelet that pulses with some type of chronol energy.

Iron Man has posed:
'Snowball' spins in a circle: vertically, so as if it were on an invisible ferris wheel, upside down, and around again. And then indicates that it wants to come in by bonking its body against the glass, veering back, and then starting to analyze and look around for an alternate path. The eyes disappear during this scanning procedure.

Slipstream has posed:
Stepping back, Drake reaches out to open the window, now that it's been replaced since Mon-El shattered it last night. He steps back to let the flying robot inside, taking in a deep breath. "Hi. I'm Drake .. but if you're a Blizzard promo you already know that. Chat, this is .. golden snowball?" He motions with his hand towards the camera set up in front of the computers.

Iron Man has posed:
The 'Snowball' moves towards the computer and scans it, as if to check his story about the camera. When it does so, though, the branding on the butt of the thing becomes extremely apparent: STARK tech. Which doesn't specifically mean a lot, since STARK tech is extremely widely distributed and used, but in the form of a very expensive looking flying robot drone? Less so, really, which may make it suddenly far more interesting as super-spy related or even Avengers.

The robot then backs up a little and does a little dance for the camera, waggling both flight propellers at its head, which makes it drop in the air some before recovering. It then pivots to orient on Drake, and attempts to scan him as if to figure out if he is the right person.

Slipstream has posed:
Chuckling at the robot's antics, Drake watches him interact with the camera and his chat as everyone begins to spam snowball emotes from the Overwatch league official emote channel. "Stark tech?" He asks curiously as he leans over to spy the branding on the back of it. "Like Tony Stark?" As the device faces him and begins to scan him, he is indeed, Drake Winters. "Uh ..."

Iron Man has posed:
Stark tech, like Tony Stark? The little robot actually adjusts itself to NOD at him. Yes, it is Stark tech. The screen where the eyes were fills with golden confetti, as if Drake won a prize.

It then turns to the camera, and turns to Drake, as if expecting him to do something. Perhaps it wants privacy, or at the very least, is giving him the chance to decide if he wants this public or not.

Slipstream has posed:
It takes a bit for Drake to get it, the he lets out a soft 'oh' as he heads over to the computer to shut his stream off. "I'll be right back guys. Gotta do something for a second. Hit the follow and the sub button if you like the game play or the random robots showing up at my robot." Once the screen goes black, he looks back to the robot expectantly.

Iron Man has posed:
It will feel a lot like something out of Star Wars as the droid turns and plays a mid-air holographic little movie. It doesn't play it in full view of the camera, but sort of up above the scope of the camera, even though it isn't on.

"Hi there, Mr. Winters," comes a very iconic voice. Tony Stark is all over the place in news and media, and has a pretty particular way of talking. Relaxed, confident, and always that edge of arrogance that sometimes is more prominent than other times. It is, indeed, a great image of holographic Tony Stark, in business casual, from about chest level and up.

"I'm glad you let my drone inside to chat. Well, I say /chat,/ but, well: this is just a recording," Tony continues idly. "I thought I'd check in with you, and let you know that many of us would prefer you not implode, twist into unrecognizable paste, or..." he pauses, gesturing a bit vaguely, relaxed. "Whatever you want to call it. Should you feel like you want an upgrade on your lifeline there, we can talk, see what we can do. Let me know."

With a sleek smile from the Tony-hologram, the high tech message is gone, and the little robot hovers there, expectant, as if thinking it will get a great review for its stellar performance.

Slipstream has posed:
"Woah." Drake says as he listens to the recording of Tony Stark, feeling his eyes nearly but out of his skull. "Huh." He waves his hand in front of the holograph, then smirks as he realizes the conversation is just one way. "So... how do I get ahold of Mister Stark if I'm ready to go in and talk to him? I mean ... I got nothing else to do this afternoon." He glances down at the bracelet on his wrist. A combination of Star Lab tech and the Legion of Superheroes. "Is this an open invite at any point to just drop by and say Hi? Do I make an appointment?"

Iron Man has posed:
The robot cheerfully zips in closer and focuses on him like a eerie floating camera. The robot clearly understood his question, as the eye screen changes to: 'Appointment!' in bright gold text promptingly. Then the screen changes to what is very clearly a few options for a time and day. There are some options on the touch screen, but nothing is immediately for that day.

Evidently Tony's schedule has only a very few openings, but they do exist.

Iron Man has posed:
Additionally, a location is shown. It is not Stark Tower, but the Avengers mansion, that is listed as the meeting place.

Slipstream has posed:
As he looks at the calendar, Drake reaches out and taps the screen a few times to select the date and time. He gives a bright smile as he notices the location. "Wow. This is so freaking cool. I'm a huge fan of Tony Stark." He says as he rocks on his feet a bit with excitement tucked into his chest. He continues to look at the floating Snowball robot in front of him as he stands in the middle of his computer room. His stream is turned off at the moment. ".. can I keep you?"

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz knocks on Drake's door. She decided to be out of uniform, just wearing a gray sweater and a gray skirt (two different shades of gray), with her hair in a loose ponytail. When called, she lets herself in, eyebrow raised as she sees the small robot. "Hello Drake - I see you have a little friend there."

Iron Man has posed:
The robot's eyes on the screen return, and change to 'n' shapes, in a manner of "n_n" on the screen. It waggles it's flight struts on both sides in a sort of uncertain manner, a type of 'maybe'.

But then Jessica arrives, and the robot orients towards her, the screen in front flashing a little bit, and it seems to take her in, or perhaps scan over her, but it isn't invasive particularly.

Slipstream has posed:
"This is Snowball. From Overwatch. Tony Stark built him to come visit me because he heard about my powers and wants me to train with the Avengers." Drake says with a grin. "Snowball, this is Jessica Cruz. She is a Green Lantern. Another super hero." He reaches out to give a nudge to the woman's shoulder. "Snowball is Mei's companion in the video game. He's super cute."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz raises an eyebrow. "Tony Stark, huh?" she asks softly. "Always wanted to meet him." She raises an eyebrow. "Drake - perhaps don't blab that out all over the place, hmmmmm?" She ponders. "Well, he is a cute little robot." She ponder. "So, you're being invited to join the Avengers? Perhaps I could come along?" she asks. "The famous Iron Man? Yes please. If you like, I could have us there in no time." She focuses as her Green Lantern uniform flares into existece over her noraml outfit, all green, white, and black, with a Lantern logo over her right eye, and a few Lantern logos flashing into air around her and then fading in a silent fanfare.

Iron Man has posed:
'Snowball' sort of turns a little at Drake's explanation of what he thinks happened here. Join the Avengers? WELL. It seems to consider, floating slowly. Not it's problem!

The robot waggles a bobbing motion towards Jessica, clearly aware enough to react appropriately to what is said in front of it. And does indeed seem to think that it is super cute, spinning around like a top once.

On the robot's back side, there is a big 'STARK' brand on it in the metal. So at the very least, it is a STARK robot; that much is apparent. It is interested in the Lantern uniform appearing, and scans away cheerfully in a curious manner, as if the one assignment it had to do included delivery of the message earlier and taking good and dilligent scans.

Slipstream has posed:
"He's Tony Stark, I'm sure he knows who you are because he sorta controls /everything/ in the world. Cameras, satellites, Avenger stuff. Tony is like the smartest guy in the world." Drake says with a bob of his head. "I have an appointment that I picked on Tony's calendar to meet him. He wants to take a look at my bracelet and go from there, maybe see about seeing about fixing my body so I don't fall apart so quickly when I use my powers. I think it'd help to learn from the pros. I don't think I'm going to join them. Not unless they have like a academic program or something."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz nods. "Well. Anyone who can help you either learn not to tear yourself apart is good. Hmmmmmm." She smiles. "The question is - do you want to learn how to use your powers, or just hope the disruptions go away? Being a superhero in real life is a very demanding thing."

Iron Man has posed:
The robot seems to encourage everything that Drake says, it waggles flight stabilizer fins at his talking. Clearly the robot is an enormous fan of Tony Stark as well, based on the animated way it agrees on all counts. It then glides in a little closer to nudge Drake's shoulder. And then zips to the window it had come in through.

Taps at it once. And then pivots, politely waiting to be put outside.

Slipstream has posed:
"I don't know. I don't see myself putting on spandex or a cape and I think being blurry fast at times like a stone skipping along the pond isn't super helpful. I guess I can be annoying and distracting." Drake walks to the window and looks sadly at the golden Snowball. "So, I guess this means I can't keep you?" He says as he opens the window up. "I would be like the coolest guy on stream if I had my own personal Snowball to hang out with."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz nods slowly. "Well, it was nice to meet you, Snowball," she states, reaching over to gently pet the robot like she would a kitten as she waits for the robot to leave. "So... nice of Mr. Stark to offer help."

Iron Man has posed:
The eyes disappear from the screen as the robot prints there, "MAYBE. ASK TONY". The robot's screen then returns to the rounded eyes, and he wiggles once in pleasure at Jessica's petting.

It then stares at them just a bit longer, before zipping out silently out into the sky. It hangs a sharp left and then soars down low out over the buildings.
