Deadpool has posed:
"The name is Pool, Deadpool," said the mercenary for the fifth time tonight. He wore his usual red and black suit, but over top of that, he had a white tuxedo jacket, white dress shirt with a burgundy handkerchief neatly folded into his left breast pocket. Below that, he had black tuxedo pants, with a burgundy cumberbund, as the jacket was unbuttoned. He was currently talking the ear off a short, plump man with a pronounced nose, spectacle, and an umbrella in one hand. The little man said, "you already said that my good man, now please, I am trying to enjoy Madison's performance. If she is as well as advertised, I am liable to "steal" her," he did the air quotes with his fingers, which were quite odd, even though the gloves, "for my own establishment." Deadpool gave him a blank look, and repeated, "The name is Pool, Deadpool." And the man brought a gloved hand to his head, it was going to be a long night. But at least Madison was now on stage, so there was a potential distraction.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
In following with instructions she'd been given in the past, Cassandra was trying to get out more without the cowl. This time, she had opted to venture out of Gotham City entirely. Upon coming to New York, she had been people watching and the Lux was mentioned as a place that should not be missed. So she headed that direction. To say she was not dressed for the occassion was an understatement. She had on a lightweight black leather coat over a white tank top. A pair of loose fitting black pants covered her legs, black boots on her feet to protect them against the cold outside.

As she moved down the staircase into the club, she frowned a little at the people within. Their body language read what they were all about, giving her an indication she really didn't want to be dealing with any of them. Their pursuits were not hers. She headed to the bar and settled in as the bartender came over. Cassandra glanced around then spotted a drink that looked like a cola being sipped nearby. She pointed to the glass then held up a single finger. The bartender eyed her a moment then moved away to get the drink. Cassandra turned around to see the person coming out on stage--and spotted the man in the costume with tuxedo. Her brow furrowed as she stared at him curiously.

Deadpool has posed:
The "legitimate" businessman's body language was quite refined, suggesting he didn't like to give away much. He was very reserved, keeping things close to his chest. But his companion, if you could call it that, defied reading. Deadpool's body language was either all over the map, or the man honestly lived every second of his life as if it was his first. If there was anything to be said of his language right now, it was that he was pretending to be Sir Roger Moore. Though if one were to ask him, he'd say he preferred Connery, it's just Moore was closer to his heart. When the girl came out on stage, most of the men in the room, and even a few of the women, took serious note. But the guy in the costume mask, well, he seemed more interested in the umbrella of the man he was speaking with. "So, Pengie, what's the deal with the umbrella. It's not even raining outside. Is this a Tangled thing, frying pans, who knew, or is it just that you're a fan of Sting and the Police?" Referring to Englishman in New York. The man sighed, his eyes momentarily sliding off Madison's efforts, to look at the man. "Were I to hire you to perform a specific task, immediately, and that would take you elsewhere, would vacate the premises?"

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
That is worth paying attention to. Cassandra turned back to the bar, picking up the soda that was placed in front of her then spinning back around so she could watch the stage. Only, she wasn't watching the stage or the woman on it. She couldn't care less. Instead her attention was on the pair by nearby. The businessman was a face she had seen in the files at the Batcave. Penguin. She wasn't allowed to do anything involving the costumed crowd at this point. Batman didn't feel she was ready yet. But he probably wouldn't mind getting information if she could get it. It might even get her back into Batman's good graces after her last mess up.

The man in the mask--that was another story. She'd never seen body language like that. Most people had other intentions. She could tell what the various people in the room had in mind. THe woman on the stage. Alcohol. Sex. Fighting. It was all written out for someone able to read every nuance of motion. But the man in the mask? He defied everything she had ever seen in a person. She took a sip of her soda and promptly began to cough as the liquor mixed with the soda burned its way down her throat.

Deadpool has posed:
"Leave in the middle of Madison's act? That's just rude, and I'm only rude to people who deserve it. I was at Costco yesterday, finished buying my groceries, and as I'm making my way to the back, there's a bottleneck. This woman, with like three things in her cart, all pretty light, kept stopping. There was a huge amount of space in front of her. She just stopped. Finally, after the fourth time, I asked her, and she tells me it's because she could tell I was following too close behind her. Then she saw the mask, screamed, and security asks me to leave. Of course, I did knock out three of their security guards before that, but still. I mean, what nerve on the woman. And wow, my Costco's in a bad neighbourhood. What kind of a Costco has that many guards?" And by the time he was done with his rant, the Penguin had missed the rest of Madison's act. Having picked up on the girl's interest, he leaned over to Penguin, whispering, but kind of saying it loud enough for it to carry, "Psst, Pengie, I think that hot Asian girl's totally in to you."

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Penguin does take a glance around at that. Yet, he sees no hot Asian girl that is paying any attention to him. There's a couple of them in the club. One at the bar sipping on a drink but her eyes are on the stage, not the pair of men talking. Well, Deadpool talking. Penguin wishing he was anywhere but near the merc with a mouth at the moment. The other woman fitting the dsscription was at a table and did seem to be glancing at the pair of men once in a while then whispering to her friends. Oswald couldn't resist straightening his jacket.

At the bar, Cassandra turned and put the drink down very slowly, as though it was a wild animal and might attack if she made sudden moves. Whatever was in that, she wanted no part of it. She did pull out a twenty and set it on the bar next to the drink, taking care of the tab and not planned on ordering anything else. The inability to ask for a cola without liquor would make it impossible. Unless the woman behind the bar knew American Sign Language. Probably not. Cassandra would just opt for pretending to drink the one she had. She kept her attention on the duo but was careful not to look that direction.

Deadpool has posed:
It was at that point that Deadpool finally departed Penguin, giving the man some space. At first, it looked like he was heading towards the bar, but then he went around a table, and walked right up to the woman at the table, with the friends. He seemed to whisper something to them. At first, eyes went wide, then there was a laugh. It was hard to say exactly what was being said, given he wore a mask, and the woman's back was largely to both Penguin and Cassandra, but after a moment, a young Asian woman left her friends and wandered over to Penguin. Whatever Deadpool had said, it had seemed to work. His work done, he threw down some cash on the table, and gestured to one of the waiters, making a circular gesture, suggesting he was buying them a round of whatever they wanted. And with that, he headed over to the bar. Along the way, he shook his head in the negative, "a mercenary's work is never done."

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Keeping her attention on Penguin, Cassandra turned to people watch. She didn't let her gaze linger anywhere too long and made sure she didn't focus on her targets. She did manage to see Wade speaking to the woman at the table then the woman approaching the short man with the monocle. The surprise didn't show on her face but it was most definitely there. Hearing the murmured words from Deadpool, she turned to pick up her drink. No way she was sipping it but she did lift it to her lips and tilt it up to make it look like she was. Even licking the liquid off her lips made her want to cough but she controlled it. That stuff was dangerous. How did people drink things like that?

Although the masked one was near her, she made sure to track Penguin. Unfortunately, it was a moment later and he was heading toward the staircase to exit the bar, the woman on his arm. So much for getting intel. Slipping off the barstool, she quickly zipped up her jacket. Maybe she could follow the man and see what was up. The rooftops couldn't be that much different here than in Gotham. She'd never be seen.
