Synopsis: Supergirl and Tim Drake chat on the roof.
Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Red Robin

Supergirl has posed:
The night is calm and clear over Nassau County. And the moon's silvery reflection ripples in the waters of the bay off the mainland. And out on barker Island, on top of the impressive tower being built to house the superhero team known as the Titans, a lone figure sits on the edge, switching her attention between the ocean below and the starlit sky above. A light breeze plays with Supergirl's hair as she sits, sometimes blowing her hair into her face; but Kara pays it no mind. She's just...

To be honest, Kara doesn't really know what she's doing. All she knows is that she needs to be both alone and near friends at the same time. Thus, with paradoxical intentions, she ended up here on the roof of Titans Tower, silently musing.

Red Robin has posed:
The door to the roof opens. There's a calm heartbeat behind it. And Robin emerges, in costume, as always. He hasn't worn anything around the Titans except his costume, and when he was seen coming out of the shower, he wore a white towel... and his mask. The mask stayed on. It must have come off while he was in the bathroom, but he wore it going in, and wore it coming out. He's funny that way. Seeing Kara, he asks from afar, "oh, I didn't think anybody would be up here. Mind if I join you? Of course, it's totally okay if you'd rather be alone."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl didn't even notice Robin had arrived on the roof until he speaks with her, owing more to her mental distraction than his exceptional stealth skills. Kara turns her head to look at him, smiles, and shakes her head. "I don't mind," she says quietly. She motions to the part of the roof nearby, then looks back out over the horizon. A thought occurs to her, then she turns back to Robin. "Shouldn't you be back in Gotham for the night shift? Or did batman give you the night off?" Kara tries to smile, but she's just not quite successful, making the expression sad instead of jovial.

Red Robin has posed:
"We have a rotating schedule. Batman patrols, every night... in fact, I think he's managed to do that every single night since before I was born, even the days when he was out of the country. I mean, especially the days when he's outside of the country." He's trying to make light of it, but Batman is obsessive, even when compared to Tim, and Tim's no slouch in that department himself. "And if I were in Gotham, then who'd be here on the roof to keep you company?" He moved to sit down beside her."A penny for your thoughts?"

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl's smile turns from sad to appreciative at Robin's joke about who would keep her company. "It's...complicated," she says with a sigh. "I mean...I know we don't really know each other. Maybe you know a bit more about me becasue Superman is so well known..." Kara shrugs, seeming to be unwilling to burden Robin with her own worries at first. But then, she asks, "It's like....my life was completely gone. Everyone and everythign I knew, gone. And I get here, and it's scary. My cousin is an adult, when I'm expecting to find a baby that I'm supposed to be responsible for protecting. I have all these powers that are awesome and...frightening. All at once. And, some time goes by and, I think, I'm doing okay. I can live here. I can get used to this new life." Supergirl sighs, slouches forward to hug her knees to her chest, and the smile is gone as she looks back up into space. "And then, I get...the rug pulled out from under me? I guess that's the saying. Everything so thrown off kilter, I don't know how to find my ballance again."

Red Robin has posed:
Robin does what he thinks is appropriate. He hopes this doesn't result in breaking some Kryptonian social taboo. Maybe it means up there, if it still existed, that he was to be mated for life, or maybe that's how they buy a house. He's not sure, but on Earth, an arm around someone's shoulder is a comforting gesture, especially when the person is sad. He stretches that arm, his costume feeling rough in parts, smooth in others, but the gesture hopefully goes over well. "It's okay Kara. I'm here. The Titans are here. You have Superman. You have friends. You can make a life here. It's a good place. There's a lot to like about Earth. And, if nothing else, you've made my life brighter for having you in it."

Supergirl has posed:
The gesture of Robin putting his arm around her shoulders does comfort Kara a great deal. And, reflexively, she gently nestles her body into the embrace, not thinking much of it. All she knows is that the simple act of contact is something she needed, but wasn't sure how to ask about. It seems that some emotional states are universal. "Thanks," Kara says, and the natural warmth has returned to her eyes and her smile. Kara straightens up a bit so she's not so nestled in Robin's arm, but she doesn't break the embrace, either. "And I really appreciate that. And you, Robin." She stays silent again, just letting his arm bear the weight of her troubles a bit longer.

"I found out today...someone cloned me." Supergirl swallows hard, tensing up as she says those words. "Someone took...tissue. Blood samples. Something with my DNA. And they created a clone. A *weapon* to fight Superman." And Kara hugs her knees tighter, feeling very cold as she continues. "They did it without people Superman and I know and trust finding out that they had gotten those samples. They know the humans who are taking care of me. They know who *I* am when I'm not Supergirl." kara looks back at Robin, her eyes rimmed with tears. "They tried to kill my cousin with...me."

Red Robin has posed:
"Kara, that's... that's terrible!" He listens, feeling sick from what she's saying, and the implication of it. "That... is seriously wrong. It's illegal. It's wrong. And it's not normal behaviour here on Earth. Very few people would even think to do that, even fewer could, and fewer still would. What... what happened to the clone? She's a weapon, but it's not her fault. In a funny way, she's like a sister, one who was wronged, as seriously as you have been. Can I help? What can I do?" He still comforts her, but holds her tighter as she explains the horror of that situation.

Supergirl has posed:
The outpouring of concern and empathy from Robin makes Supergirl feel somewhat better about her situation. The tighter hug is welcomed, and Kara finds herself responding by re-nestling herself in Robin's arms and putting her head on his shoulder. "Thank you," she says with quiet appreciation. "The clone...I guess she managed to break her programming. She and Superman came to terms and she realized she was wrong." Kara shrugs, closing her eyes. "I'm more worried about this group that created her. If they know who I am when I'm in my civilian costume...can they strike at the people I care about? At the family I'm now a part of? I know I have plenty of freinds to keep me safe; I'm just worried about them." Another long pause, then Kara sits back up. But there's a certain determination and resolution in her gaze now. "I have to talk with her more. I need to know what she knows of this organization that created her. I have to make sure that everyone that knows me is safe from them."

Red Robin has posed:
"That sounds like a plan. It's best to study and learn first, before acting. You can protect yourself. Superman can. The Titans can. But I'm sure there are other people, who might want to go on a vacation, or something... if you could provide me with a list, I do have... resources. They could be protected until you think it's safe. Just say the word." Sometimes, it was nice to be a ward of a billionaire with a heart of gold.

Supergirl has posed:
It's charming, Robin's offer of making sure the humans Supergirl cares about are protected. And her face is warm and glowing with appreciation. "Thank you, Robin. Sometimes...it amazes me, the extremes of human behavior that I see firsthand. On one side, there's this anti-alien group that violated me in a horrific way. And then there's you. Willing to use your own resources and maybe even risk your life for people that you don't know." She looks at Robin, the tears gone from her eyes, and then smiles slyly, looking at him in mock suspicion. "Wait...this isn't some witty attempt by you to get me to accidently reveal my secret identity, is it?" Yup, she's joking about that, and it's pretty obvious the accusation isn't supposed to be taken seriously.

Red Robin has posed:
Robin grins, and simply says, "I already know it." Yes, it's said seriously. And he probably means it to. "They say that Batman is the World's Greatest Detective, and I'm his partner." He's possibly a better detective than Batman, which is incredible. "I... have picked up some bad habits. Batman likes to know everything about people he deals with. Yes, it's an invasion of privacy. And yes, it's wrong. But it's to ensure that the people I care about are protected. If I choose to trust someone, to rely on them, to bring them into my world, I have to know who they are, what they're capable of, and that I can trust them. I couldn't risk lives on a hunch. I have to know."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl's reaction to that...probably isn't what Robin pictured. "Wait..." the smile fades from her face. "You know? You've known me for...half a week! How long did it take you to figure it out?" She's angry and flustered, her cheeks turning red with embarassment. "I mean...you know. Batman probably knows. These creepy anti-alien jerks know...Am I just like...the worst ever at this whole secret ID thing? Do I just make it that easy for people to find out?" Her anger isn't neccessarily aimed at Robin, but at herself, it appears.

Red Robin has posed:
"The batcomputer helps." It seriously does. Batman has the most advanced crime lab on the planet. His equipment would put the F.B.I. to shame. How else has he managed to stay a step ahead of them, M.I.6, and all the other government agencies, for all these years. "Uh, when... dealing with a member of the Batman Family, you kind of have to just assume that we know more than you'd like. It's like an unofficial motto. But we're very good at keeping secrets." The only reason he's even telling her this is because he likes her, he wants her to feel at ease... he's messing that part up horribly. "Sometimes, a lot of times, Batman knows people's identities before he meets them. He prefers it that way."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl sighs, shaking her head and putting a hand to her forehead. "Rao. This is..." she mutters. She's tense and her body is being kept away from Robin right now. A hand is raised, bobbing for emphasis as she talks more audibly. "Probably *not* the best time to tell me you know my secret ID when I'm having a panic attack about people that want to do horrible things to me knowing who I am...." Supergirl sighs and stands up. "It's just...been a bad day for me, okay. I'm sorry. I should...probably get...get back home. Talk to my family about all this." kara walks away, but doesn't fly off quite yet. She stops and puts a hand on Robin's shoulder, managing a smile for him. "Thank you, though. For the comforting. I know you were trying. Like I said, I'm just not dealing well with today."

Red Robin has posed:
"I... yeah, I messed that one up." His heart was in the right place. "I told you I know... because I trust you. I like you. I want you to like me. To know me..." maybe not his identity, not yet. But eventually. "Kara... Supergirl. Wait..." He reached for his mask. He looked around, flipping his cape up to protect against a visual recording device from a above and a few other directions as it draped over. He looked comical. He was so cautious about his identity. But with her limited angle, she could see him take his mask off. He showed her his face. Yes, she could see it with x-ray vision. But was showing her a part of himself. He was just being careful that few, if any others, could see him as well. Damn, he was paranoid.

Supergirl has posed:
It takes a moment for Supergirl to realize what Robin just did; a few moments longer to realize the signifigance of what he just did. But, it breaks the tension within her and she's back to the more cheerful and relaxed Kara that Robin would normally associate her being. She stands there a moment, takign it all in, her cheeks flushing slightly. And then, before Robin realizes it, Supergirl steps up to him and kisses him on the cheek. "You know, it's a good thing for you that you're cute..." Her cheeks flush more after she says that and then she steps back. "So...ummm...back to...Metropolis! Yeah. Metropolis..." A quick wave, and then Supergirl takes to the skies, heading back home.
