Cast of Characters: Superman, Wonder Woman

Superman has posed:
It's late, evening time, and as you're working in the cool, rainy night of the New York winter evening, there's a flash of lightning followed by the sound of thunder. Still though, it's not likely that the eve observant Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, would notice the silhouette at the window of her office. Standing out there in the dark, well...-hovering- out there in the dark, he's waiting to be let in. As you likely, hopefully, go to the window, you see those strong arms folded and the rain rolling down the hem of his cape and his shoulders as he waits, a bit dropping off of the tip of his hair that hangs over his brow.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana is at her desk, working late tonight. Although this time she is in her living quarters on the third floor of the embassy instead of her office, which is on the first floor. She is working through the stack of papers in front of her, reading carefully then turning the page over on its face to the side. Then she reads some more.

It is true she does not notice the silhouette but she has been given her own gifts by the gods and they server her well as does her experience. She simply never lets on that she knows he's out there. She finishes the page she is on and sets it atop the stack before rising to her feet.

Moving to the window, she opens it up and gives a soft smile as a light laugh escapes her. "You look like a drowned rat. Come in but stay here until I get a towel. I don't want you dripping throughout the room." With that she turns and heads to find a towel to over the drenched Man of Steel. "What brings you here this evening?"

Superman has posed:
he grins, as you mention his being wet and he shows off al ittle bit, as you can see and feel the heat vision and if you look at him, evidence of the steam can be seen as the water evaporates and he chuckles, standing there pefectly dry. "Why do you think I don't mind travelling to places wet or cold. I have this under control, Diana," he says with a chuckle but stepping forward he does offer an arm in greeting, held out to clasp the female warrior-goddess.

"Nice place you have here," he says. "A little overly furnished for my tastes but you know what they say - you can take the boy out of Krypton but..." and he gives a little chuckle, clearly in good spirits. "What do you think about that most recent request we received from those Avengers..."

Wonder Woman has posed:
When he uses his powers that way, Diana actually rolls her eyes slightly but she changes dirertions to stay in the room. This area is a sitting room with couches, chairs, even a little fireplace where there are logs burning to give the room a toasty and cozy feeling. The desk she had been sitting at is off to the side against a wall with a small leather chair in front of it. She is dressed in a pair of slacks and a button up blouse in white. Her feet are bare though, the only change from her state earlier downstairs when she was working in her office. At the offered arm, she places her hand over his forearm, the greeting of one warrior to another. Then she motions to the chairs. "Would you like to sit? Thirsty?" she asks, playing the polite hostess before answering.

"I have been up to the Watchtower. The computers there are working on trying to find the source of these interruptions. Thus far, there has been no luck. We can work around things by going with technology of the past which did not rely on computers but many have forgotten such skills sadly. Batman has his own computer resources which are not tied to the service providers, of course." She smirks a bit at that. Leave it to Batman to have his own internet. "That is why our computers on the Watchtower still function outside of this threat. I would be willing to assist the Avengers in any way possible."

Superman has posed:
He gives a small smile as you make the offer of something to drink and he just waves a hand. You know full well he'd never ask, but he'll always drink what you're having if you bring one over. He does look at the furniture, giving it a brief glance before finding something that he's sure he can sit down on. Not that he doesn't have lots of practice in life by not breaking things when sitting down, but he wouldn't want to most recent time he did to that to be in your own domicile.

"I'm glad, and no I'm not surprised. Honestly the number of things he has we don't know about is probably somewhat frightening but still good that he has them. I like to stay the optimist and assume we can handle things the way we want to, but there's plenty of times too that we've sadly seen in history that the just in case becomes the need right now. Fortunately, I am glad Bruce also has the discrtion on when it's hit that point of no return. But while I'm handy with the computer when it comes to the day to day, I definitely don't want to expose the Kryptonian tech to these guys - so I've more or less got to stay out of it fro mthat standpoint. I haven't heard from him much but if you say the two of you are on it that's good enough for me."

Wonder Woman has posed:
"I had asked him to meet me," Diana explains as she walks over to a mini fridge. She pulls out two bottles of water and walks back over to offer one to him. Then she sits on the couch, crossing one leg over the other as she twists the top off the bottle. "To offer and apology on my knee jerk reaction to his concerns about the Green Lanterns. I still stanad by that the Green Lanterns are our friends and allies but there are other colors out there that give reason for concern. Red most specifically who are powered by Anger." She shrugs. "I wish to speak with Hal further about the matter but yes, we need information on these other groups. We already know the Yellow Lanterns are enemies to the Green. If the others are also on the opposite side, contingency plans to deal with them are not unwarranted."

Superman has posed:
Superman takes the bottle of water and he asks, curiously, "Would I know where the spring is for this?" He is teasing of course, wondering if it's Themysciran water or just from some normal boring old place like France...or the Hudson River. "It wasn't knee jerk," he offers. "We know full well that just as people can inspire, they can let us down. For every moment of grace and beauty there is a moment of fear and hatred and people act from both. There is no reason to expect that other races and other species and other wolds don't have the same - different customs, different goals. But you and I agree that these can't be our first reactions - that we won't operate from fear. But sure, it's good for Batman to plan and be ready for when we are disappointed again. I'm always happy to be pleasantly surprised, but Bruce keeps us from getting caught off guard. It's a system, a balance, that works for us."

Wonder Woman has posed:
"Of course. We each have our own strengths that make up for the weaknesses of one another. It is why we do so well as a team. Why we used that same philosophy with the creation of the League." Diana sips her water before she continues. As to the question about the spring? There is only a soft smile that is much like the Mona Lisa, seeming like she might know a secret that the rest of the world just gets to wonder about for the rest of their lives. It's really clear and refreshing water though. Quite lovely really.

"Did the Avengers have anything specific that they know yet on these attacks by the Rising Tide? Or are they are in the dark as the rst of us? Or have you spoken to them yet?"

Superman has posed:
As you give him that quiet smile, he says, "Fine." His tone not hurt but more amused. "You're looking a little rusty anyway. Next time we spar, if I win, you show me where the spring is. If you win, I'll let you see my real place of retreat - not the apartment near the Daily Planet." He grins, offering you a rare treat few would ever get to see. Still though, he starts to answer you as you rattle off the questions about the Avengers. "I..." he starts to say before you ask the next one. "I'm n...." and then you ask the third and he waits, looking at you a moment, before he ahhs. "Ok, good, I can answer now. I haven't spoken to them, no, so by that I don't know the answer to the other two actually."

Wonder Woman has posed:
"I cannot make that deal," Diana says with a soft laugh. Which automatically should give away the answer to an investigative journalist such as himself. After all, her mother might not appreciate her bringing a man to the island just cause he wanted to see the spring. The Amazons weren't quite that understanding.

Then she focuses on the more important part though. "We should reach out to them soon. See if they have made any progress. Old style radios should work fine. Just nothing digital or computer based. Though they do work sporadically, they cannot be trusted to be secure." She nods a bit as she considers. "If you wish, we can go to their Mansion tomorrow?"

Superman has posed:
"Well then I shall. To Hal and whoever else he decides is relevant to the conversation," he intones and does grin as you say you can't agree to the bet. "I understand. You forfeit, then," he says, teasingly, knowing that isn't the case but he's going to enjoy pressing your buttons just slightly. He stands up as he drinks the water, "We can use the Hall. It's private enough and depending on who Hal brings I'm not sure I'd like to meet anywhere else. We'll keep it a small conversation to start and we can report back as needed...this is all so formal. We'll make it work though. Friends, and friends of friends...having a discussion about what is best for our galaxy. Sounds reasonable."

Wonder Woman has posed:
"Yes, Hal will be involved in the situation with the Lanterns. He will be able to give us more input. Hall of Justice or Watchtower if it is just him and the Earth Green Lanterns. Hall if there are strangers brought in," Diana agrees as she sets her bottle on the end table by the couch. Then she focuses back on the other situation. "We should go to the Avengers tomorrow. Personally instead of relying on technology. See if there is anything we can do to assist their endeavors? I'm sure they have already reached out to SHIELD as well."

Superman has posed:
Superman laughs, just slightly, "We should. That should be fun. I can't imagine what could possibly go wrong with that..." he says and he starts to walk to the exit...if by exit we both agree that using your window to head back out in the rain is totally okay. "Nice to see you, Diana."
