Shadowlite has posed:
Oh, great. Cops are snapping out of it, and Power Girl is going to eventually see him. Time to get the obviously illegal stuff out of sight... which only takes about a minute for him to get back to the apartment with the briefcase, and fifteen seconds to collapse the rifle inside, along with the Uzi.

The Judges can be hidden in the trenchcoat well enough.

Then, he's back out and about, heading over to the main source of commotion where the police, Power Girl, and the rest of the mutants are. Floating above a rooftop, Shadowlite glides down to it, and takes a look over proceedings over the edge. Those below looking up will easily see him.

Time to see if police will bother trying to take him in or not here. He's here for the guns and to see how much damage was done, so he'll only be a moment.

Redstar has posed:
Paddy wagons and such arrive, taking those away who committed such awful things tonight. Many of them are confused and argue with the authorities, but they all go in the back of a wagon and head out. The jail is going to have a hard time holding so many people. For the most part the cops are focused on the streets.

Then of course there is the fire from the gas station a few blocks away. There is a secondary, smaller, boom of sound. Fire engines can be heard and their lights reflect onto buildings.

Shadowlite has posed:
The explosion grabs his attention. That can easily spread, and he flies over, zipping. Then, he's right over the blaze.

Taking a deep breath, Shadowlite moves to a rooftop, steps onto it, and banishes all his Darkforce, except for his armor. This is going to hurt.

Then... he reaches across the Dimensional barrier, and everyone down on the ground will see a massive about of black mist 'foaming' off of Shadowlite as he brings a thin, but sturdy, dome of Darkforce over each fire in turn. There's a scream from Shadowlite from the massive strain this is on him, but he keeps it up, sucking away the oxygen for each as Darkforce winks into existence all over the blaze.

Redstar has posed:
The fires are extinguished, but whatever was within them is beyond any hope of salvage. The heat having melted the trailer as well as that inside. The fate of the men in the back of the truck is questionable.

Despite the annoyance of being left in the Darkforce when it ejected Shadowlite, Vicky is also patient. It wasn't until he reached across again that she let out a sigh of relief. "Shadow?" Then he is screaming and she frowns in the blackest of blacks. That sound grates on her nerves.

Shadowlite has posed:
Ugh. Gonna feel /that/ in the morning, too.

At least his.... fourth? Fifth?... place in the world isn't gonna burn down, and the firefighters can deal with other stuff.

Now that he has a moment though, Shadowlite reaches with one arm even as he goes to one knee from the /massive/ headache he has right now, and a black portal opens, pulling Vicky out from the Darkforce Dimension as he wills the substance surrounding her to eject her onto Earth. By the time she's out, he's breathing heavily from the exertion. He'll need a moment, and sits down on the edge of the roof. The smoke from the not dead fire behind him.

Redstar has posed:
Vicky lands with surprising grace, having gotten a better hang on exiting those damned portals. Her face is serious and concerned as she moves to kneel in front of him. "Shadow..." Her eyes stray to the smoke. She crawls around to the edge of the roof and peeks over at the scene below.

Water flows from hoses onto the remains of the fire, filled with chemicals to help with any gas still pumping from the tanks below. With the fires out someone is able to hit the emergency shut off valve, reducing the risk of further explosion and damage.

~Poo. Missed all the fun.~ Starr comments as Vicky moves to stand, turning to peer around from the rooftop at the borough. Emergency lights and sirens could be heard everywhere. It was likely a good 1/4 to 1/3 of the cities emergency response was in Mutant Town.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar had been perusing logs and other data on the Legion cruiser in an attempt to learn the identities of the Daxamite zealots who had attacked some time ago when the chaos had erupted in Bushwick. It had all happened so fast, by the time he arrived everyone was just busy with collateral damage control. It's a good thing Power Girl had been here to help things settle down.

At any rate he makes use of the freeze breath characteristic of Kryptonians and Daxamites alike in order to help put out the remaining fires and plug gasoline leaks until more permanent solutions could be implemented.

Once that's finished, he lands on the roof near Shadowlite, seeing the man exhausted from the effort of putting out the massive blaze. "Shadow. Are you all right, dude?" he asks, the concern in his voice genuine.

Shadowlite has posed:
"Pretty sure something managed to get through my suit during the massive gunfight." Shadowlite grunts in pain as he clutches his head, "Putting out the fire didn't help." He groans, before he gestures around, "I was lucky I didn't get tossed into a wall. Or way high in the sky." Then, he just.... collapses onto the roof, the energy coming back slowly... but having used it all bringing the fire under control. The last of the Darkforce domes have faded out of existence, behind the Dimensional Barrier, by the time Mon-El is nearing the roof... though he can see just how /massive/ the dome radius was.

When Lar lands, he's... just not in any way interested in getting up. "I probably have internal injuries, and feel like someone just played whack-a-mole with my chest. I also have a drum beating in my head.." A thumbs up, "Just peachy." Yep, that last one was sarcastic.

Redstar has posed:
Vicky watches the Daxamite make his landing after finishing with a gas fire. The best way to describe her expression is remote. But she nods and says, "Hello." And Shadowlite chooses then to collapse. The girls blue eyes go wide and she gasps, before falling to his side. "MICHAEL!" She shouts as she carefully pulls him against her.

"You got shot?!" She glances up with actual worry in her eyes, the remoteness gone, at Lar. Then something dawns on her and she looks back at him. "Hey, do that thing on me. It heals you right? Go on."

Mon-El has posed:
Lar frowns, using his enhanced vision to scan Shadow's body inside and out. And he does not like what he sees, which is a number of bullet wounds, internal injuries and hemorrhaging.

"Multiple times, it looks like." he answers Vicky's question. "Lots of internal bleeding and inflammation...He needs medical attention, -now-!" He glances over at the gathering of emergency vehicles below. "I'll take him to one of the ambulances." he says, and starts to do just that, for fear if he himself tried to transport the man to a hospital, he might accidentally worsen his condition in the process.

Shadowlite has posed:
"Uh... no." Shadowlite grits his teeth as Darkforce claws pop out of his armor, and -dig- into the building. Lar will have to literally tear the building apart to get him up, now. "I can take care of myself. The locals don't like me very much, and I have zero interest in getting my blood on file."

Of course, now he can't get -himself- up, having pinned himself to the building. No healing of any kind for him yet.

Of course, the exertion of pulling Darkforce again has him breathing heavier once again.

Redstar has posed:
"No, don't!" Vicky says as the Daxamite moves to make off with him. At the same time as he digs into the building. She reaches to put a hand on his shoulder gently, leaning in close. With his goggles and mask on she can't tell how close he is to losing his control. They both have something in common in that regard, his was just...different.

"Damnit, stop focusing on maintaining anything else and heal," There is a tightness in her voice as she speaks to him, grabbing at his hand and squeezing it.

Mon-El has posed:
"What?" Lar lets go of him before the building gets torn down, thankfully. Hey, he's at least getting a -little- better at this control thing, all right? He stares at Shadowlite. "But how? You'll die!" he exclaims, really sounding worried. "You've been shot four times and one of them is still in your body. You're weak, you'll bleed out!"

Shadowlite has posed:
"I don't need medical attention as long as I'm awake. I've never went to hospitals." Shadowlite allowed the claws to fade out, and he breathes deeply, trying to center himself again, "I can show you, if you don't mind feeling cold and having years of your life taken." Shadowlite notes to Lar, "It'd be a new experience for you." He quips. Then, he looks to Vicky, "I have no idea what it'd do to you. Aren't demons able to be killed, too?"

Redstar has posed:
~Not...exactly. When this body dies we will return to Sataanish's hell.~ Starr replies as Vicky frowns, looking thoughtful, as her turns to look at her. ~But otherwise we are immortal, you and I.~ What is said actually makes Vicky pales slightly.

"Starr...says we're immortal," Vicky says with a quiver in her voice. Her eyes go to Mon-El and she says, "He can heal." Then back to Shadowlite and she smiles weakly. "Just...shut up and do it already. I can't -get- cold, remember?"

Mon-El has posed:
"-No-." Lar pushes Vicky aside. "I'll do it." he says, determined. He's pretty confident that whatever strength Shadowlite saps from him can be quickly restored thanks to the yellow star that is so near to this planet. He heard the quiver in Vicky's voice. She's scared, he can tell. Even if she won't die, there must be a risk of something dreadful happening.

He crouches down near the injured mercenary. "Michael...do what you must in order to regain your strength." Really, he is serious.

Shadowlite has posed:
"Don't say I didn't warn you."

Then, Lar has a black glove hand reach out and firmly get placed on his chest... and he can feel a dread cold seep into his very bones as some sort of Darkforce -cocoon- engulfs him, leaving him sensory deprived, except for that cold. Then, a blue pulsing 'grip' flows around Shadowlites hand, and suddenly Lar can feel his energy just /drain/ as the life is taken from him.

Vicky can see the familiar blue pulse flow over the cocoon and through Shadowlites hand, into himself. Ten seconds in, and the sound of a bullet round can be heard dropping to the roof can be heard around Shadowlites hip as that wound closes and ejects the foreign material... followed by Shadowlite giving a grunt of relief.

This goes on for about fifty seconds, years of life taken in that time, before the cocoon... fades, and so does that dread cold from Lar, who can see again.

Shadowlite? There's a bit of blood around him from the now-closed wounds But his breathing sounds a lot better.

Redstar has posed:
Vicky goes sliding across the gravel a good few feet as Lar shoves her with an, "OOOf!" Of sound and falls onto her ass. She glares at Mon-El and gets to her feet, "What are you doing?" She demands of him, more irritated than worried about the fact she was going to outlive the people she cared about. Cause everyone likes discovering that.

But before she can do anything that cocoon wraps around the Daxamite. Lips thin in a frustrated line she can only just stand there and watch. As Lar is finally released and she hears Michael's sigh she returns to his side, shooting her friend a 'look' over one shoulder. "You're good now?" She asks Shadowlite, reaching out to rest a hand on his armored chest.

Mon-El has posed:
Well, Lar definitely didn't expect it to feel -good-, that's for sure, so he just kind of lets the cold wash over him as Shadowlite takes what he needs to heal himself. The sensory deprivation feels...oddly familiar, even though he doesn't quite remember any specific circumstance that brought it about.

Once it's all over, he scans the man again, and is satisfied to find that his wounds have healed. After a moment of recovery, he stands back up. "Better?" he asks, even though he's already checked himself..

Shadowlite has posed:
"Fuck yes, I'm better." He actually stands at this point, and reaches out a hand. An elastic tendril of Darkforce flows down then, and engulfs the region of the roof he was laying on in a Darkforce mist. After a few seconds, it pulls back into a ball, which he 'empties' into a pouch he takes from his trenchcoat. Anyone looking where the mist was will see a newly pristine rooftop.

Yep, Shadowlite just cleaned up after himself. It's no wonder the only sample SHIELDs ever managed to get on him was heavily degraded.

"I don't have to use that often, but I'll probably be around for a good long time from that. I've tested myself over the years, and that stuff basically does miracles." Then, he's looking towards the smoke, "I know I have a state level warrant in the city, but I don't want the city to burn down, you know?"

Redstar has posed:
Vicky heaves out a breath as Shadowlite gets to his feet and moves in to wrap her arms around him. Sure he has that healing ability, but she didn't like the way her stomach had twisted to see him collapse. "Good," She tells him before pulling back. It isn't like Lar hadn't already figured it out anyway.

"Lar...thank you," Vicky's voice is soft and she has a hard time looking him in the face. Mainly because she hasn't been able to break away from Ares yet. And she has an idea of what he would say. "Were you helping with everything too?" She asks glancing back over the area. She had been stuck in the Darkforce Dimension the entire time. "What happened anyway?"

Mon-El has posed:
"Glad to hear it." Lar says with a nod when Shadow confirms that he's fine now. Then he smirks a little. "It wasn't actually as bad as I thought it would be, to be honest. I've definitely had worse before." Like almost dying from lead poisoning. That had to be worst. At least that he remembers right now. "Thank you for everything you've done here. Clearly it wasn't easy for you."

Then he turns to Vicky. "It was better me than you." he replies to her thanks. But now that the concern of Michael's health is out of the way, he frowns and looks her in the eyes. "Something is bothering you. What is it?"

Redstar has posed:
Vicky snorts at Lar's comment about it being better him. "Do you -know- you're immortal?" She asks him, not quite snapping, but still frowning. What did it cost him to do that? Then he tries to meet her eyes and she looks away. "It's nothing," She says firmly, crossing her arms across her chest. There is a subtle step back so her side brushes against Shadowlites own.

~Secrets, secrets, secrets, pet.~ Starr's voice purrs as the demons mind curls about Vicky's own. A sensation like someone watching over her shoulder making Vicky shift uncomfortably. ~Tell him. You'll feel so much better...~ Vicky's face is twitching and flinching in response.

"Just...It's just..." She swallows and licks her lips. It is obvious she seems distinctly uncomfortable as she says, "Ares won't stop with his training..."

~Lies of ommission too. So proud.~

"We better go. I'll talk to you...soon Lar," Vicky says, only briefly meeting his eyes. For the first time in awhile there is something like guilt in her blue eyes. She turns to Shadowlite and takes off in a leap, flying in the vague direction of Queens.

Mon-El has posed:
"There are things that are worse than dying." Lar points out. Like whatever it was she had been afraid of earlier when Shadow was about to drain her. "I don't think I'd -want- to be immortal, anyway."

He sighs when Vicky admits that she hasn't gotten away from Ares yet. But, he doesn't get angry. "Vicky...let me help you. I can face him. You saw that on LV-1024. I defended you with my life before, and I will do it again. But, if he is indeed as honorable and reasonable as you say he is, then there will be no need for a fight." he pats her on the shoulder reassuringly. "Come talk to me on the cruiser tomorrow, all right?" Then he flies off.
