Date of Scene: 05 March 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Lex Luthor, Gorilla Grodd

Lex Luthor has posed:
This is one out of the usual sphere of one Lex Luthor. But then, that's the whole point of The Light, isn't it?
he invitation had been sent via messenger to a dead drop that Grodd had been told about by word of mouth:

"I've been interested in your exploits for a while, and with the state of the world, I'm interested in... adapting to our circumstances. If you're interested in building a new, evolved future, come by LexCorp Towers. Security will be expecting Mr. Smythe at a time of your choosing.

LL"

A bit vague... but then, trust has always been one of those things that those opposed to the status quo have had trouble with.

Lex Luthor himself is up near the back glass wall, his hands behind his back as he looks out over Metropolis. Mercy and Hope are doing a last minute sweep for bugs to the room; you can never be too careful when it comes to conspiracies of this nature. The corridor itself leading into the office is lined with Team Luthor security when Grodd comes up the elevator.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd walks in with both a holographic disguise but also a telepathic one as he slowly relaxes, carrying a briefcase which is real enough, submitting to scanners. The scanners detect the real thing even if their human operators are kept dark except for the immediate body guard outside of lex's office who he lets se the real him. He is lead in and spreads his hands wide in a welcome gesture, "Lex Luthor. Thank you for the invitation.

Lex Luthor has posed:
When Grodd comes in, the main guard is the only one who has an idea of what's going on with their visitor, since he's the one with the scanner... and he doesn't blink an eye. Weird shit happens a lot around here, it seems.

Mercy and Hope give Grodd an examination as they walk to either side of Luthors massive desk, the professionally dressed bodyguards keeping a respectful distance. Luthor himself turns around to give his own appraisal, before he gives a warm smile, and starts to walk over. "The pleasure is all mine. I think you'll like what I have to say, if you're looking for more reach, and a bit of cooperation." He offers a hand for a handshake, if Grodd wants one, before he moves around and behind his desk, his impeccable business suit smoothed over with a hand as he sits down. "I had a chair specially made for you so it doesn't break and is comfortable. Please, sit if you like." Lex gestures to the chair in front of his desk; it is indeed designed for a Gorilla.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd has his teleportation belt. He's not stupid but he isn't loaded for bear as usual since this meeting definitely isnt meant to be hostile. He nods politely, admiring the man's taste in help. He nodded and extended his hand, shaking it back, not crushing nor giving a light fish shake. Firm, but not too firm. "I appreciate it. Human furniture is so often....lightweight." He takes the man up on his offer.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"We do like our creature comforts." Lex notes offhandedly, before he waves a hand through the air, and a holographic view of the Earth pops up above the desk. Not in the way... but visible. "Things have changed in the last few years on our planet. New sentients and enhanced individuals are coming out into the public eye every day, it seems... and so are new ways to counter them."

Lex then snaps his finger, and a number of red dots show up on the globe. "Ever since Loki had his fun in New York, those who work to build a new future have had more and more obstacles placed in their path to preserve a status quo that is, quite frankly, going to ruin humanity and gorillakind on this planet over time. If we're going to have a chance to bring new vision to our planet, we'll need to adapt to these threats. We'll need a way for the Enlightened to bring The Light to a world that sorely needs it, and doesn't know it."

Then another snap of his fingers, and a board of squares with ? icons shows itself in place of the globe, "I propose a new Council that will work behind the scenes to evolve our planet; a direct response to the new enhanced teams, SHIELD, and those who support them."

Lex looks down to Grodd, then. "Interested enough to hear the details?"

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd nods, "I am setting the stage for Gorilla City to do the same soon enough but before we do I want its position to be strong, if not dominating in the region. The ways to counter them is indeed why I have been...cautious. Loki was sloppy, quite frankly...almost arrogant. Adapting sounds good to me if we're smart about it. Evolving is good, as long as we don't burn the village to save it. I'm not a ...well..Loki style guy. Something to answer SHIELD, now that interests me tons.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"The idea is simple; there are a number of individuals on this planet who have the resources and influence in their own power bases, and skillsets to bring to the table. SHIELD and those teams represent a collective pooling of the forces that wish to stagnate our world. The Light will seek to pool our own resources and build a foundation from which our respective abilities and resources can be used to actually accomplish something together. We've all worked independently of one another for years.... and where has it gotten us? Picked off one by one and put in check."

A press of a button from Lex, and the board turns into the globe again, "The Light is meant to put us out of check, and into the game of a better future for Earth." Lex gestures, then, to the globe, "These individuals would only be known to one another, for security purposes, and mainly communicate through an application and satellite network of my use to make it harder to track us. Both the encryption and the application, as well as the satellites being used, will be known quantities, and I will give you the source code for them as a gesture of good Faith."

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd hasn't gotten put in check by anyone but the Flash yet....but that's by design. But it would only be matter of time. And this way he could keep his agenda clear of other known major players at least. "Interesting. I have been considering upgraded satilites using our own operating system to avoid another nonsensical bullshit like what happened to the human internet. Next level encryption to keep the human law enfocement out. But yes, this intruiges me.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Another button is pressed on his massive desk, and the holographic interface switches to a number of documents floating in midair between them. "Just swipe at each one to zoom in on it for easier reading. This is the initial draft for our rules and regulations. We can vote in a hierarchy later if we're so inclined, but to make this work initially, I'm setting the council as equals, first and foremost." Lex intones, before going quiet to let Grodd read, and steeples his fingers.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd reads the dossier in seconds. His intelligence isn't one step from Braniac's like Lex, but its smart enough to bend the laws of physics like his play thing. "I think you should trust your first instinct. The hierarchy will sort itself out in the doing. Soft power rather than formal hierarchy is how this group is going to work. And I would add the requirement that we have to actually TELL each other what our agendas are. Secret methods should be a given since we're literally setting ourselves up as the opposite of those who call themselves 'heroes.' Have you ever read the Mask of a Thousand Faces? I have. Story is a powerful tool and controlling the narrative is important. WE need to be the heroes, not SHIELD or the Justice League. It's more important than you know; case in point. Ever look at some of your alternate dimensional selves?" He leans back in the custom chair and extends his hands constructively, "It can be...quite enlighetening.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I consider Tony Stark to be the wildcard we'll need to deal with sooner rather than later.... and yes, that's a given for this group. If we're going to coordinate, we need to know what everyone else is doing." Lex agrees, before he presses another button, and the planet in hologram form appears. The probable locations for Gorilla city appear, "Should I assume you'll be keeping Gorilla city secret, as well?"

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Wild Cards are multiple and varied. Batman, Reed Richards, T'challa, Deadpool, Longshot or any of us could be a wild card. Stark is the best engineer on the planet. We're smarter scientists but he can mass produce things we would take ten times as long to mass deploy. And you would think that, but no. I have an agenda in place, a time table to create enclaves of gorillas around the planet that we can make a front from and thus begin extending state power. I think the idea of Magneto as a UN member is an intruiging one, but the inhabitants of Gorilla City would never tolerate open interlopers that true embassies would require." He grins grimly and smiles, "As a courtesy I would and will let the members of the Light know to be off planet when my distraction...takes place."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Batman can be predicted based on his obsession with Gotham and information. Reed Richards is too interested in wanderlust to keep grounded information on this reality. The rest are too interested in their own issues to establish any sort of spy network. I'm a bit wary of Batman... but I don't think he and his people will pose a threat until we do something overt."

Lex then reaches into the air, and twirls the globe around, highlighting Genosha, "The problem isn't how smart our opponents are... but how they process their information. Their methodologies. /That/ is what we need to handle. As you say, control the narrative, control the story."

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Information is everywhere. He is predictable within certain parameters but I don't consider it 'safe' to discount him at any time. It's worked on multiple occasions. And I agree, he is less likely to act if we remain away from Gotham, don't approach extinction level events or anything too likely. Gotham alone, cess pit that it is, could keep an army occupied. Reed...we shall see." He is oddly quiet on that one. "And yes, I agree. Circe had some fascination ideas of messing about with how various groups communicate with one another. Establishing rivalries between Avengers, the League and SHIELD would help us quite a bit."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Agreed. The undercurrent is there, but a push in the right direction setting SHIELD on the League? That'd make for a good distraction. If we can make it a hostile rivalry, so much the better." Lex hits a point on the globe, then. "Alpha Flight will be an entire different problem... and one I'm hoping to have some leverage on long term. LexCorp will be producing a space station in orbit within a few years, and will be used as a space hub for Lexcorp and potentially The Lights interests."

Then, he looks back to Grodd, "I'd welcome assistance with design, if you're interested."

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Space has intruiging possibilities for expansion. Alpha Flight doesn't worry me so much as the Green Lantern Corps or NOVA. After all, if we could have nine or ten alien worlds under our control, imagine how useful it could be to leverage here. And I would be delighted. I think some extra dimensional tech in particular, shielded from very specific scans will give us lots of leverage to plan whatever mischief we require and they wouldnt think to look for it until its too late."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Then I look forward to your participation. Shall I add you to the document as L4?" Lex inquires.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd nods, "By all means do. This should be a rather interesting endevor.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Then welcome to The Light. I'll let the others know your status." Lex stands, and offers a hand for a handshake, "I have a number of projects in the works, and am typically the legitimate front for the council."

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd shakes his hand, "Yes. I have a rather interesting one myself. Read 'Gullivers Travels' lately?" He grins.
