Cast of Characters: Captain America, Nick Fury

Captain America has posed:
Arriving at the Triskelion it doesn't take long for word to reach Nick Fury's office of the man's return. Steve Rogers, Captain America, steps past the welcome desk and reception area for the building itself, his smile and profile enough to carry him past not to mention his rank. But when he ascends and tells the elevator, "Director's Office." It likely causes a warning to alight somewhere that assuredly is within Nick Fury's sphere of perception.
When he arrives he'll step past an agent, giving her a smile. "Janice. Good to see you." He offers a nod to another agent in the waiting area.
But then he pauses at the reception desk. "Captain Rogers to see Director Fury." His tone is friendly but a little firm.

Nick Fury has posed:
Nick Fury was in his office, running through the myriad reports that arrived, on his desk, seemingly by advanced teleportation techniques. There was always something to go over, and some new catastrophe to stop. With a sigh, Fury leans back with the latest report from Agent May, and digests it. Tapping his approval, Fury submits his response to the report through the system.

Yes, he had received the "alarm" letting him know that Rogers was in the building and heading for him. There were very few things Fury didn't know about that happened in the Trisk...let alone, on the planet. With a sigh, Fury taps a button, letting his admin asssistant know that it was approved that Rogers could come in. Unlocking the door, Fury stood up, and awaited the Captain.

Captain America has posed:
"Director Fury," Steve's voice had that business-like tone to it, the one used at briefings and sitreps. But it softened when he looks the room over and cocks an eyebrow before looking at the other man. "Did you redecorate?" He took up a place opposite and offered a hand to shake in greeting though careful and controlled in its grasp.
He says, "I just wanted to check in and touch base. See if there was anything you needed me for before I focus on the Avengers Initiative." Though the Avengers have grown past that initial name, he still at times favors it. "I've still got a stack of reports to go through to catch up, but Stark too a bit of time to try and catch me up."

Nick Fury has posed:
It was almost like Fury stood up a little bit straighter when Rogers arrives into his office. Almost. With a sidelong glance at the man, Fury nods, and replies to the man with the same tone of voice he gave him. "Captain Rogers." Fury adds, "I did indeed redecorate. It's a more 60s nostalgic viewpoint. You know me, a connoisseur of the arts." Fury tried to keep the sarcasm out of his voice. Tried.

"Nope, you are good to go Captain." Fury says, sitting down, and offerring the seat across from him to Rogers with a wave. "The Avengers Initiative is of paramount importance, so I appreciate you concentrating on that." Fury nods, and leans back. "It's good to have you back where you belong." Fury adds, almost as an afterthought.

Captain America has posed:
Taking the seat, Steve looks down for a moment but then looks back up, blue eyes meeting Fury's as he gives a nod with a small smile, "Looks good." He offers about the decor, though the Director might catch some dubiousness in that gaze, followed by that silent resignation when one reconsiders their initial judgement.
Back to the man opposite him he nods. "Good to be back, sir." His brow knits together slightly as he adds, "I should have gotten back earlier." A little rueful in tone but he murmurs, "Is Agent Romanov free to continue her efforts there? She's the closest thing to an NCO and would be a godsend if we're going to get things up to speed."

Nick Fury has posed:
Nick Fury grunts in response, and nods. "Thanks." The decor was something that Fury had little to do with, except for maybe a touch or two in regards to the security set ups. "It's a talent." Fury almost smiles, letting the guard down just a touch. Back to it then.

"I can understand priorities Captain Rogers. You got back when you could. No worries." Fury pauses for a split second before replying to that. He was calculating what he should say. "Agent Romanova is always free to continue her efforts." Fury frowns. "I have no issues with her working with you." After all, she reports everything back to Fury.

"She has my blessing." Fury pauses. "I would like to see her before that was all a done deal however. To ensure she understands the commitment level she would be undergoing." Yeah, or brief her on spying. "No problem Captain. You can have whatever you need."

Captain America has posed:
A faint twitch of a smile is given in return, he nods at the answers given and he murmurs. "Then I figure that's it, you know where you can fire me if things kick off." He rests his hands on the arms of the chair, fingers gripping as he cocks an eyebrow at the man as if to ask silently if there's anything more. If there isn't he'll gain his feet. "I'll point Natasha your way once I break the news to her so you can make sure she knows who she really works for."
His smile is a touch wry but as he moves towards his feet he does stop for a moment. "I had been meaning to ask, though..." He pauses, just the space of a heartbeat then adds. "We brought Bucky in from the cold. Left things at a stable point. But I told him I'd give him space." He straightens up, "Just wanted to know if things are alright." No detail asked for, since a promise is a promise.

Nick Fury has posed:
Fury nods, and looks at Rogers for several moments as Steve continues. "Thanks. I promise not to "fire you" without due cause." Fury shakes his head. "As for Natasha, yeah, I know she's around. She'll like the opportunity to stretch her legs, that's for sure. I expect she hates doing all this spying stuff all the time. Being a hero would be a nice change."

Fury's eyes narrow slightly at the mention of Brnses. "Yeah..." Fury says, weighing his words carefully. "Barnes is a unique case Captain. I'd give him some space, sure. But not too long. You are both friends and comrades-in-arms. Maybe it would be best if you both got past this, and just had it out. Talk. What's the worst that could happen? A fight?"

Fury smiles, just a subtle tilt of his lips. "I'm sure things will be alright." Fury stands, mirroring Rogers' movements. "Go talk to him Steve."

Captain America has posed:
Another handshake is offered, "Thank you for your time, Director." The tall blonde man gives a single sharp nod and once that's settled he takes a step back and then turns as he moves towards the door. His footsteps are clean and even, but then he does turn back around just before the door. He gives the place another look over... a little more slowly than the last.
"You know, it kinda grows on you." His lip twitches as he pushes open the door and then steps on out.

Nick Fury has posed:
Shaking the man's hand, Fury grimaces slightly at the strength behind it. Amazing. "My door is always open for you Captain. You have my full support behind the Avengers, and the support of SHIELD. I wish you the best of luck in getting this thing working again. Heaven knows we need the Avengers to work." Fury releases the man's hand, and stands back.

As Rogers leave, Fury allows himself a real smile. Funny, two dinosaurs like them, and they still have the same sense of humour as 80 years ago. "Good luck." Fury says, mostly to himself, but the emotions behind the support are real.
