Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Ding!

After crossing the chimed door, the aroma of freshly roasted beans blends with the loud-ish background chatter of a lively coffee shop frequented entierely by young pepole. It's a family-run thing, it may not have the polish of a large corporate chain, but it is intimate and has personality, and if it was to be summed up in one word, it'd be 'eclectic'.

The furniture is mostly wooden, but each bench and chair has a differnt cushion to go with it. Each table has a different tablecloth. Various paintings and sculpture scattered all over the place (each of them done in a different style), with a small tag listing the name of the author and a price below it.

"Oh, it's Violet!" "Hey, Violet!" "Vi! Nice to see you!" can be heard as soon as Violet, who crossed the door first, steps into the place. "Ben! Milly! Ray! How are you!", she says, greeting each of them in turn, with a smile. "My submission for the North-West park statue passed the first round of selections!" "Awesome! You buying us cookies?" Who must be 'Ben' bursts into laughter. "Not until I pass all three rounds and I get paid! And you? How's your submission for the Gotham Opera Season ad?" "Overall designs got accepted, but someone else will do the actual art." "Oh, wow! Congrats! You passed the rejection phase!" "Yup! Still a few months, and you might see my art on the posters! Oh, and Milly, did you recover from your flu?" "Yes, it's completely gone now. Still sneezing a little, but almost passed!" "Good." "Oh, and Janet in Accounting is on maternity leave!" "Triplets?" Jumps in Violet. "Triplets!" "Called it!" Exclaims Violet, clenching her fists, holding her forearms vertical and jumping on the spot. "I have a gift for that kind of thing!" "Which means that you're welcome to draw at her desk, next week!" "Oh, thanks! I was mostly covered, but was worried about Tuesday afternoon. And this is actually better, I'll stay the whole week in one place-" She interrupts her chatter, and turns back to where Raven conceivable is. "...oh, sorry. Got a bit carried away." she tells her newfound friend, and turns to the group she was talking to. "Ben, Milly, Ray... this is..." and hesitates on purpose, to leave an opening for Raven to introduce herself.

Raven has posed:
"Also Rae," Raven explains calmly, if creakily. She doesn't offer to shake hands. She's busy considering the amount of trust you've placed in her, showing her your home and your friends all in the same day. It probably merits a return of the same kind of trust...but for you. Not for them. She nods at your friends, then asks Violet, "So you've been here more than once?"

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
"Hello, Rae!" "Hi, Rae!" Various people greet the newcomer, then return to their business. Seems like most of them are already in a group, or busy working on some artistic project. Most of them on laptops, some of them using traditional means.

"Well, I come here every now and then. It's got good prices, you meet people, and you can put some of your works up for sale. I did that landscape over there, and that figurine." She points to a painting hanging on the wall, and a small, elongated statue working as centerpiece for one of the tables. Both for sale with a small price tag at the bottom.

"Jim, can you get us the... privacy table? Rae and I, here, need to discuss... ah... business." Jim whistles. "Got yourself a customer, Vi? Sweeet." Very, very quietly. "S...something like that, yes," says violet, reaching for her elbow and squirming a little. "Booth in the corner then!" he says, and shows them a booth which, unlike all others, is completely enclosed, with its own window, and has a small barrier at an angle before the opening, as if it was some sort of small corridor people have to go around before etering. "Doesn't look like it, but it's soundproof, and nobody can see us from the bar." Says Violet, as she heads towards the booth to sit on the cushioned bench.

Raven has posed:
Raven notes the squirm and the elbow grab, with some trepidation, before firmly settling herself. Chances are much better it's to do with hero stuff, or even with her attempted murder, than...anything else. She resets her face to its usual, glacial calm (not that it ever moved much past that) and follows you to the booth. "Alright, so, privacy, then. That's nice. But you don't want things very private, or we wouldn't be in a cafe." Which is a smart move. "So?"

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara looks down at her hands. Her fingers fidget. "...so, well, chocolate." She says, and looks up at Raven. "I- I really need chocolate. That's why we're in a cafe?" she says, disarmingly honest in her innocence. But after that, she returns to look down. "And. Uhm. Yes, well, I- I think it wouldn't be wise to discuss matters that are /too/ private. I mean, you're being very nice to me but... well, we've just met. I think there's a limit to how much we can trust each other with... sensitive information." She is slow, and picks her words very carefully. There is a little extra hesitation before the thick corporate speak. "The privacy in this place is what it is, and people could hear about our reserved business transaction." She casts Rae an apologetic glance, and returns to look down.

Her voice lowers even further, both in tone and in volume, to the point of contrition. "You already saw something nobody was supposed to see, and I thought we should manage this confidentiality breach in a way which doesn't hurt my..."

This one takes particularly long, but she finally says, with forced calm and firmness, "Reputation."

Raven has posed:
Raven is pretty much calm--pretty much--but the right side of her mouth seems to be trying to escape; it's making a break toward her ear. This is all pretty clever, and pretty cute. She just nods across the table at you. "Sure. I don't have anyone who needs to know about it anyway."

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara instinctively lets out a sigh of relief, but is quick to catch herself and clear her throat. "Very well then. I- Oh, just a moment." She leans out of the booth, and raising her voice she goes, "Jim?" "Jim's in the other room." "Oh, it's okay, Tina. I'll take a hot chocolate." "Right away, Violet. Love what you did with your hair. How did you get that effect?" "Hydrant gone berserk in the middle of a demon attack." "Oh. Are there tutorials on Youtube?" "Probably. You find the weirdest stuff on there." "Neat! I'll look into it as soon as I go home!" "What'll be it for you, Rae?" Asks Violet, turning to look at Rachel.

Raven has posed:
"Some kind of hot, unsweetened tea if you have it. Water if you don't." Raven waits until the waiter--what was her name? Tina, right--is gone, and she asks, "Did you think I had someone to tell about it?"

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara gestures in the general direction of the access to the booth. "I don't know? I mean, the police? The world at large? The press? A blog? There's a whole world of people who don't know about there. As said, we've just met. I-" She shakes her head and composes herself, looking at Rachel's face, but not managing to hold eye contact. "I have no idea of what other people might do with that information."

She looks down to her knees, where her hands rest now, fidgeting. "...I have no idea what /I/ might do with that information."

Raven has posed:
Raven shrugs. "Nothing, in my case. If you did, demon cultists would come for you and kill you for taking me out of the way of their revenge. The next bugbear they send might not be as nice as the last one."

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara looks up and gulps. "Well, looks like someone has it worse than me..." she says. And then shakes her head with a bittersweet smile. "But I actually meant I don't know that I don't know what to do with knowing about... me. Well, the me you first met, not the now-me. We're both /me/, only..." She pinches the bridge of her nose and closes her eyes. "...It's complicated, ok?"

Raven has posed:
"I'm picking up on that," Raven says wryly. "You got something to do other than tell me about it?"

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara looks down. Her hands are still.

"I need someone to stop me."

"Coming in!" announces Tina, well in advance, so people have time to deal with any sensitive discussion going on.

Violet looks up, snapping out of her pensive mood, and looks at the arriving waitress. "There you go!" Says Tina, and she places two cups, different in design and color from each other (and from any other cup elsewhere in the cafe) in front of the two customers. Raven's is just a cup of hot water, with a bag of tea placed next to it. Well, it's no infuser, but the target demographics is bohemian artists, after all.
