Long time, No see
Date of Scene: 09 March 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Shredder, Black Queen

Shredder has posed:
The penthouse is quiet, as would be expected if no one was in it. The ticking of the clock echoes in the room, and there is absolutely nothing visible that seems out of place. In the dark shadows of the room, Oroku Saki lurks. His own spiritual presence subdued to be less notable, his mind is clear as only someone with centuries of practice can do, making him as close to invisible as a person can manage without powers. He has been hearing rumors through his various organizations, but unable to pinpoint what is happening. Sometimes, you just have to do things yourself.

Black Queen has posed:
The lights come on as soon as the private elevator rises up, and Selene Gallio steps out. She's dressed in her Black Queen outfit and there's no one with her. In the penthouse of the Hellfire club there's not likely to be many who could get in there. Walking inside she has a few scrolls, old scrolls, and she's opening them up and reading them idly as she walks through the very familiar penthouse. Oroku Saki is able to hide himself from her senses, at least the minimal ones she keeps extended at nearly all times, both natural and supernatural.

Few people would recognize this woman other than for her beauty or her cruelty just before they died. But Oroku Saki probably can, for she has made no attempt to alter herself and looks exactly as she did hundreds of years ago in Japan. A woman who came there to investigate your rule, to ask questions, who did not interfere and at times even aided in transactions but then eventually left. Something Kitsune likely considered a good thing, for Selene is a darkness that consumes not one that lends her strength very often to others.

Shredder has posed:
Saki moves silently, giving pause as he sees Gallio. He watches for a few minutes, though, not quite revealing himself yet, not passing judgment on what he sees, but rather patiently observing the old acquaintence. Certainly it is a surprise, but instead of instantly revealing himself, he excersizes caution.

Black Queen has posed:
With a few more steps Selene is in the kitchen, she is opening up the refrigerator door with a passing thought of her telekinetic control. A chilled bottle of wine older than Saki floats its way toward a glass that has come from one of the cupboards. It pours itself before being replaced back into the chill environment and comes to the counter nearby. Selene reaches out with one hand to grab at the glass and walks it into the main living space. Unlike modern households this room has no television, no entertainment boxes, nor even a radio. This is a place of modern luxury but anachronistic tastes, there isn't even a phone in the room.

When she gets to one of the couches she settles herself back into the comfortable seat and smiles a bit at a portion of the scroll. The language is arabic on the scroll, and it seems in an old design but perhaps on new material. A copy of some old document, or a replica, for nothing could keep that long in this good of condition. She starts to laugh a bit as she reads, and keeps going with the text seemingly amused by what she is reading.

Shredder has posed:
Saki drops from the ceiling, landing without a sound several feet behind Selene. "I must confess, I did not expect to find you at the center of this, Selene," he says, announcing his position behind. His armor isn't quite the same as it used to be, but it has a distinct resemblence. blades cover him like a cloak, and cape drapes around behind him. The helmet, though, the helmet is the same, almost certainly the actual same helmet that he wore so many centuries ago. Kitsune always promised that Oroku Saki would return, but after 400 years it may have seemed to be wishful thinking. He stands in a non-threatening position, other than the sudden unexpected presence in the room.

Black Queen has posed:
With the quiet landing, Selene doesn't alter her attention, reading the scroll she has before stopping. Her ears pick up the words and there's a momentary pause of questioning the familiar voice, and then she remembers. She switches to Japanese and speaks in response, "Oroku, hello again." She turns her head slightly to at least get you in her peripheral vision and she holds up the scroll that she has in hand, "I wish that I were in the middle of this, smut has not been the same since the babylonian days but this comes close. 4th century BCE." She adds the tidbit at the end for reference, and then settles it down on the couch next to her, before waving in front of her, "Please, come into full view, and explain. In the middle of what, exactly?"

Shredder has posed:
He laughs, "A little carnal diversion then, is it?" Saki laughs. He steps forward, coming fully into view. "I understand that Hellfire Club has been exploring a fountain of youth. I had thought there was a new player in the immortal ranks of this world. Is that your excursion?" He doesn't sit, but tilts his head at the scroll, an amused look on his eyes behind the metal mask.

Black Queen has posed:
"Life is just a series of carnal diversions." Selene sips at her wine before looking you over and hrms, "You really do not update your fashion sense, not much anyhow." She sits up a bit and offers, "It is not on behalf of the Hellfire club that I am looking. As their Queen, I do not ask or inform, but command when I need things to be done. You remember those days, right? When you commanded people?" She smirks a little at that and then just offers, "You are speaking about my coins. I am mostly just getting back what was once mine. I believe it could be of use to me again. As you can see though, no new ranks to any immortals, just the same gorgeous, intelligent, magnificent one."

Shredder has posed:
"You flatter me," Saki jests, as if the compliment was directed toward him, "You seem to be doing well yourself." He glances at his armor, "Yes, well, I am a little bit of a traditionalist, I suppose, but I have plenty to command these days, it takes time to overthrow a nation, you know. The world is not quite as simple as it was last time. New magics, new sciences, new creatures populate the world. It has been a little bit of a learning curve."

Black Queen has posed:
"Flatter you?" Selene laughs lightly and shakes her head, "I thought I was being at least a little insulting. Your fashion needs to update, there are so many great things that have been invented in the past few hundred years. High heels, for one, I love them. Short skirts have come back into fashion finally, and these wonderful coats with animal flesh in them. Again, an oldie but reinvented and made luxurious. They feel so soft these days and just exquisite on bare skin." She should know, since her coat is the only thing keeping her upper body from being naked." Then you go off about the difficulty of taking over nations and she slumps her shoulders down, leaning back and throwing her hands a bit into the air in exasperation, "You are telling me. The 'good' people of this world are far stronger and more capable than they have ever been. An exponential growth rate in the mutant population, no longer being considered an 'outcast' so much as instead a 'minority' needing protection. It is absolutely horrendous, at least in the past, the good folks fought amongst themselves because of witch craft, and devils, and such. Now? Unification, not completely but a great deal. It really makes life difficult. And then, I have to masquerade the Hellfire club as a what? Carnal secret club for the wealthy?" She shakes her head with a soft sigh, "The things people think are 'risque' these days. A little flogging, some slave play, in my day... brimstone, fire, branding was a good second date."

Shredder has posed:
The Shredder chuckles. "I suppose you know more than I do, the afterlife was much simpler to rule. But then, after you have proven yourself victorious over everything, it can become quite monotonous. I am happy to return to the hunt. The minority protection is a peculiar thing. Strength should be what grants a person protection, not weakness. A few of these mutants seem to understand that, I believe they have some distinct uses. Too many of them are reliant on their unique talents over true strength and purpose. I have found this makes them excellent pawns, though." He glances around the room, and nods. "I am glad to see you still doing so well. Perhaps we can benefit one another again. My decendants have passably managed the Foot. My granddaughter needs seasoning, though. She still needs to develop a greater sense of ruthlessness."

Black Queen has posed:
"Well, when she comes into a world that is..." She waves a hand dismissively, "Soft, it is expected that she would need to learn ruthlessness." She sits up a little more as things become a bit more business-like. "Well, I am in quite a few endeavors really. There's drugs, and weapons, just par to the course. I am also intrigued by how easy it is to buy and sell humans, of all the things that remain the same... and then there's power. Artifacts, the right connections, secrets, and more. I would be willing to exchange certain things, efforts, or even my own very talented self at times, should there be a benefit in something that matters. Something other than money."

With that she tilts her head a little bit at you and wonders, "You seem to not have lost much of your own talents. Kitsune, however, has she found you again? No offense, but I never liked her. You can't trust an eternal witch. Trust me, I would know." She smiles a little at that, before wondering, "Do you have any things in particular afoot that you might need help with?"

Shredder has posed:
"Kitsune, my wife?" Saki reminds. "Oh yes, she is the one who arranged that I would inevitably return. I understand why someone in your position would be hesitant. My perspective has been different, at least regarding her. She has never betrayed me in all these years. It is true love. While my power has far surpassed her, I cannot claim that I would have it at all without her." He moves to the window of the penthouse. "I am looking to benefit my scientists, currently," he admits. "A man of particular scientific genius is in my employ, and I want to provide him with the necessary resources to continue his research. The concept of these mutants has fascinated me, and in turn, I have gained rivals decended from Hamato Yoshi in that department. Turtles which have been altered and given great strength. They are only an inconvenience, really, but their ability to affect matters far beyond what they should be able to accomplish. Genetic science has since become a venture of mine. A venture with some success, but I could use more. Mutants seem to be an essential resource in this day."

Black Queen has posed:
Noticing that you are headed to the window, Selene thinks for a moment. "I could arrange some mutants to find their way to you, if you were interested? There are quite a few of them these days, but some of exceptional power." She stands up slowly, and easily while turning to face you and she smiles a bit. "If he would be interested in testing or taking some of their genetic material, and altering the DNA. I've studied the new biological sciences and more, so I would be highly interested in his results, what he's capable of doing, that sort of thing as well." She moves in the direction of the window just moving with easy steps in her heels, "And, just, keep in mind. Perhaps I can also show you some of the new world. There are others you will want to be mindful of, not just these Turtles. There are X men, and Mages of immense power, though many of them lack wisdom or longevity... they are thorns with a grave poison."

Shredder has posed:
"Wisdom." Shredder lets the word mull like a mouthful of the wine that Selene had. "It sounds that we can enjoy the discernment of one another again," he says, turning to look back at Selene. He glances down at the heels. "They look impractical, but they are quite attractive," he acknowledges with a raise of the brow. "I have monitored these 'X-men.' Interesting title, really. Do they think themselves only formerly human? I suppose it does not matter. They seem also able to affect history in a capacity greater than they should. They are powerful, but reckless, prone to impulsive decisions." He looks back out the window. "I am certain that he would be happy to investigate their DNA as much as he is able. The genes may share the same factor, but the various applications are countless. Combined with the concoctions that we have already attained, it could prove to be more valuable than iron." Of course, the iron age was over long ago, he knows that, but the parallel remains. "I will arrange for his research to be made available to you, if you can find samples. And..." he holds up a finger behind a barbed spike, "Any who would like to volunteer for...further improvement, would be appreciated. Volunteers only, though, I do not want any loose cannons."

Black Queen has posed:
Selene is about to open her mouth and offer some test subjects, until you say volunteers only and she shuts her mouth again into a smile, "Well, I will make sure that they are volunteers before they get to you." She offers with a smile that betrays her villainous nature more clearly than most smiles she has had so far today. And when you ask about the x-men a bit she nods her head, "Those pesky people think they are better than your kind, well, humans. I suppose if you have come back from, and managed to be around for a few hundred years you are technically out of that club of 'mere mortals' but not quite in the next club just yet." She shrugs a little bit and sips her wine again before saying, "Oh? You like the heels? Yes. Oddly, invented by men for men, but I much prefer them on women. They tighten my ass in wonderful ways, and they just are so striking. If I had to worry about, I am sure they would destroy my ankles in time, but since I don't, I can use them to grind into people before me, and otherwise just enhance my already amazing qualities. It isn't like my ass isn't great on its own, but I can spend hours looking at myself in the mirror with a pair like these on." She grins before adding, "Plus, for most women it makes them far far less likely to be able to run away. Much like these tight, miniskirts that exist now, fantastic for entrapping women before I even attempt to chase them down. It's too bad it never caught on for men..."

Shredder has posed:
Shredder shrugs, "What anyone qualifies me as is rather unimportant, as long as 'master' is somewhere in the understanding. Eventually they all will understand that." Arrogance was always one of his weaknesses, seems that it still is. Then again, ruling the afterlife can give a person a rather high opinion of themself. He chuckles, "It's good to see that your liesure time has been spent so well," he says regarding the heels.

Black Queen has posed:
There's a small laugh and Selene offers, "Well, I must make sure to show off else how will other people around me feel badly about themselves?" She wonders and then offers a little finger waggle-wave to you and says, "Well, glad that you are back. Don't forget us little people on your rise up to ruling the world, okay?" There's just a bit of a humored tone in her voice as she lets you leave, though she does pick back up the scroll of ancient smut to finish reading however.

Shredder has posed:
"Oh, there will be plenty of power to go around. Even I can't do it all alone," Saki answers. "Enjoy your...distraction," he comments. Just exactly whether he left through the window or not... well, he's a ninja, who knows. But he is gone, and the room is just as quiet as it was once before.
