Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is in the game room and there's music playing inside the room itself, some Journey is playing on the stereo speakers inside the room. 'Be Good to Yourself' to be precise. And with the upbeat song playing there's one of the newer, and younger, members of the Avengers 'hovering' in midair above one of the pool tables.

The teenager known as 'Rogue' is hovering over one of the pool tables with her body mostly horizontal as she's using a golf putter to gently tap the pool balls. With a gentle tap, the yellow striped ball rolls across the table and collides with two others before they both bounce away... one even goes into a corner pocket!

What is she doing? Who knows, but she's humming happily along to it. The teenager is wearing a dark red wine colored tanktop with black long gloves that go up past her elbows, blue jeans and some black sneakers on her feet, plus she's got a dark red scarf wrapped around her neck with its edges dangling down beneath her as she plays her new kind of game.

Captain America has posed:
Since he came home to roost, Steve Rogers has been taking the time to catch up with the many... many many files SHIELD has given him. Last night he spent a good chunk of time poring over them, the manila and brown folders spread out like an over-sized hand of poker upon the desk in his quarters. Each of the Avengers with their latest information, each declaring what was known of them up to the most recent reports. He's already taken time to meet some of them...
    But not all.
So while Rogue is in that game room enjoying herself with a good round of Marie's Sports Ball, the entrance will be darkened for a moment by the second to the tallest blonde man in the Avengers. Steve Rogers, dressed in civvy blue jeans and a white Property of SHIELD Athletic Team t-shirt, he lightly raps on the wall as if trying to get her attention. And should she meet his eyes he'll smile a little sheepishly and step in, then gestures to the music and cocks an eyebrow as if asking if he can turn it down so they can talk.

Thor has posed:
Thor is wearing a very nice pull over and has his hair combed back over his head and a few strands done behind the back of his head giving him a very

"Game of Thrones!" The god says, his voice booming away the silence and the sound of Rogue's balls banging. Apparently he doesn't hear Cap's hand gesture orders as he's sprawlled on the couch with his feet, arms, and part of his head hanging off each side and the tv remote clutched in one hand as the next episode begins.

Wolverine has posed:
Wandering out from the kitchen with a sandwich, and a bottle of beer, Logan grunts, and says, "Someone in the game room..." Logan takes a bite from the sandwich, and decides to check it out. "Nice tune..." Logan mutters to himself, and eneters the room.

When he sees Rogue hovering over the pool table, Logan smiles, and says, "Hey kid. What's going on?" Spotting Cap as well, Logan simply nods, and says, "Rogers." Same to Thor. "Thunder Thighs." Moving to find a chair nearby, Logan grins, sits down, and takes a swig of his beer. "Ahhhh. Good thing we're stocking' tha' good beer, or I might be somewhere else."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is doing a slow rotation with her hands out/up triumphantly after she pockets the other two balls on the table with her golf club and while slowly rolling over in mid air she sees Cap while she's upside down, green eyes locked onto the Captain of America and a big smile appears on her lips before she completes the roll and then gently glides down to land on her feet on the floor aside the table.

With the club held vertically up in front of her Rogue steps to the stereo and turns the sound down whilst Thor exclaims his love for a fantasy tv show which gets a smirk from the girl who then looks to Logan. "Playin' some Poolgolf. My new invention. At least I'm keepin' the balls on the table now."

Rogue then saunters overs to the table in-question and she perches herself upon the sid eof it with the club laying over her thigh while she eyes Cap closely.

"Heya, Miste'ah Rogers." Rogue says at Cap, just grinning at him for some reason only Marie knows, and others may not want to know!

Captain America has posed:
Stepping fully into the room, Cap takes the moment to await her turning down the music. He lifts a hand towards Thor and Logan, holding it up for a little bit as he murmurs, "Gentlemen." He steps further into the room and offers a small smile to Rogue, "I was just here to speak a bit with Ms. Carlyle."
That said he turns to face her fully and gives her that hometown smile as his eyes meet hers. "Ms. Carlyle, Steve Rogers. I don't think I've had the honor." He offers his hand to her, offering a firm shake though the grip is fairly gentle. "Thought it'd be good for us to take a moment or two, sit down, and get a chance to know each other. I hear you've been an asset to the team, and from reading your power profile I had a few thoughts in regards to training."
A glance is given over to the other Avengers, then he looks back at her and asks, "Do you have some time now?"

Thor has posed:
Thor gives an odd sort of salute though he doesn't budge from his spot on the couch. Yes, the god of thunder gives Captain America a black panther pride esque fist in the air before his arm falls back down heavily to bang against the floor and he returns to watching the intro to the old TV show.

"I do hope the short one gets his comeupance. He remindeth me of my brother too much." The god says to no one before he looks to Logan.

"You mortals know not what real ale is." He mumbles sadly.

Wolverine has posed:
"Good show there Thor. Have they beheaded that Stark guy yet? Saw that comin'. He deserved it, being all "high and mighty". Heh." Logan takes another bite of his sandwich, followed up with a swig of beer. Raising it up, Logan says, "True Thor. Ah've had some of tha' Asgardian ale, and man!"

Looking over at Rogue, Logan says, "Ah. Pool golf. Excitin' sport is it? New inventions always are." Logan grins and winks at her.

"Gentlemen..." Logan chuckles, and says to Steve, "Don't think ah am, but I'll take it." Logan leans back in his chair, and puts his feet up over the right arm rest. Noting Rogers' sideways glance, Logan says, "Need me ta' leave Cap?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's gloved hand reaches out to accept the shake from Cap and he may now realize just how strong she is, or get a taste of it, because her grip is deceptively strong and unyielding when she wants it to be and when you're shaking the hand of Captain America you don't go limp with it, no way!

"I'm an asset to any team I'm on, its true." She says in a moment of arrogance, but a playful expression dons her face there-after which suggests she's just tossing a little self esteem at herself for fun.

Rogue's hand would then come back and stroke the white bangs out of her face while she tilts her head a little toward her right shoulder. "I'm just here t'help. I've been kina all over the place this past year... seen a lotta stuff, but I like it here so far. With ya'll. I'm eager t'help out however ya think my strengths will suit your team. When I was with, uh, my last team..." She glances at Logan. "They generally refered to me as 'the tank'."

Rogue then glances over to Thor. "You're totally a Lannister, but a sexy one, like Jamie." And then a small pause. "Or Cersi too, I suppose."

Captain America has posed:
Thor does get a small smile, but Cap lifts his voice to answer Logan, "We're good, Logan. Unless Ms. Carlyle would prefer we discuss this elsewhere." As he offers these words he shifts his gaze to her with one eyebrow quirking as he asks her for affirmation or negation depending on how she feels or prefers.
But if things are alright he'll pull up a chair from one of the end tables for people wanting to take a gander at the television while their shows are on. He turns it to face her and then gestures for her, "This alright?" He asks around a smile then sits back in the chair crossing his ankle over his knee and meeting her gaze.
"I read your folder, looked a bit into your background. I used to work with Carol Danvers before, she's a good soldier. I hope things between the two of you are at a decent place?" His eyes find hers as he gauges her answer.

Thor has posed:
"That better not be happening Logan..." Thor says, his face turning beyond stoic as he bends awkwardly against the couch to eye the shortest avenger. Obviously it's way past that, but Thor seems to have forgotten about that. "The little girl is the fun character. Though the one handed man is my favorite! He fights for what he cares about." Thor says giving a character a glowing recommendation.

Thor does allow Steve and Rogue to carry on their conversation without interruption. "Her golf game is not as fun without doing it from a rooftop. That was entertaining.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan finishes his sandwich, and then, the beer. Looking at the empty bottle with a mournful look, Logan grunts, and chuckles at Rogue's comment. "Yeah, he's a Lannister alright." Logan shakes his head. "All those golden curls..." Logan stands up, and grabs his empties.

"No worries Cap. Ah appreciate havin' a private conversation. My character reference is very positive. She'd be an incredible asset to the team." Logan surpresses a loud burp, making it even worse. "Sorry..." Logan's smile widens.

Moving to stand by Thor, Logan checks out what episode he is on, and his smile widens into a grin. "Yeah. Just saw the latest. You know...they all die in the end. Eaten by the Frost King, er, whatever his name is. Yep. Last empisode was them headin' ta' King's Corner, all as Zombies!" Logan pantomimes the zombie look. "Brrraaaaiinnnsss..." With a grin, and a smile, Logan heads for the door...quickly.

Rogue has posed:
When Steve sits down at the table, Rogue shoots off of the edge of the pooltable and lands on her feet a couple steps away from a chair which is quickly pulled out and sat down upon, using her flight powr for little 'boosts' of speed is one of its many many advantages of.

She's about to reply to Steve then when she hears Thor's words about her pool game and she shoots a grin over at him. "You're just sour cause you can't play it, cause youuuu can't fly." Which had been a whole big conversation prior to the two of them fighting over who's volume can be louder, the stereo or the tv... which is basically where Cap and Logan came into the room.

She then nods to what Logan says, showing a faint smile to him before she regards Cap again. "Carol'n me met up last summer. First time since the 'incident' had happened two years ago, but... she heard my side of what happened and why I did it and she understand now. I'd be happy t'tell ya that sometime, but its a bit of a mouthful." Rogue takes in a breath and nods once more. "She knows I'm here now too, and seemed t'be happy about it. So yeah, we're good."

Captain America has posed:
Glancing at Thor, Cap smiles a little, but his attention is drawn to Logan briefly. "I figured if you had anything negative to say, Logan, then you'd have told me already by this point." His lip twitches, since Logan... he rarely keeps his gripes to himself.
But after that his full consideration returns back to Rogue as he listens to her words, his head tilting to the side slightly. At her revelation about Carol he gives a nod and actually looks a bit relieved. Blue eyes find hers again and he says, "That's good. I'm glad there's peace between the two of you." He gestures with the uncurling of a hand towards her, "I don't want this to be too formal and all. But I'd just like to hear how you tell your story. The bios I'm given are very dry to read."
He draws his hand back to rest on the arm of the chair as he tells her, "Just what you'd like to share, how you came to your abilities, the turning points in your life. And why you wanted to be an Avenger."

Thor has posed:
Standing up quickly, the remote is sent tumbling up through the air as the god stands from his feet. "If you spoiled this for me Logan I will be finding out if your-" Thor leaves the room storming after Logan but can still be heard through the walls.

"Healing factor can handle as much lightning as I can smite thee with!"

Wolverine has posed:
Heading into the hallway with his plate and empty beer bottle, Logan laughs over his shoulder at Thor, winks at Cap and Rogue, and says, " "Sorry! Did I give it away?" That was when he notices that Thor was giving chase. Yoink, with a speed that belied his small stature, Logan found himself in the other room, and trying to keep away from Thor.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue can't help but grin at this from Cap. "Well that doesn't sound like you want t'hear that much from me at all then!" She teases him, because if she really wanted to open up to talk about her past... all 19 years of it... it'd take awhile. She's been through a lot in that collection of years.

"My mutation is what lead me t'do what I did t'Carol." She then says, her voice calmer and more relaxed now. "That, and the misguidance of a woman I placed a lot of faith in, who didn't deserve even an ounce of it." A pause, her gaze leveled. "Raven Darkholme, Mystique. She took me in after I ran away from my aunt's place. She lead me t'believe that Carol was an enemy that I needed t'take down. And I believed her... I mean, up until I actually started t'do it. Once I had Carol, I realized that she wasn't an enemy to us, she was tryin' t'help people."

With a heavy inhale and a shake of her head, Rogue continues. "When I started to change my mind, Mystique ordered another mutant t'lock me onto Carol. Mystique wanted Carol captured, wanted her brought inta the Brotherhood, so she could be 'drawn from' by my mutation whenever I needed a 'recharge'."

A slight shake of her head and Rogue glances toward Thor and Logan. "Neither of us knew that if I held on long enough though, that the powers wouldn't go away... That they'd be locked inside'a me... seemingly for the long haul."

Captain America has posed:
When the others head off towards the door in the hustle and bustle that can only be achieved by those particular heroes, Steve smiles a bit sourly as if their behaviour was something to be embarrassed of, though perhaps a little amused. He shakes his head at Rogue and waves a hand a bit as if to ask her to please excuse them, then he offers over his shoulder. "Seeya, fellas."
But once they're out of there that's when Rogue begins telling her tale, she'll see him shift his attention fully to her. His blue eyes hold her gaze in that subtle way that Steve Rogers has, that way of looking at another person and making it clear that in that moment they're the most important person in the world as he listens to them.
She speaks of her past, of Mystique and the way they targetted Carol. She can see the small frown there, but then a slow nod of understanding as she mentions the disillusionment she felt, the deception.
He tilts his head to the side slightly as she finishes and he murmurs calmly, "You're not the first Avenger to have been deceived by a person close to you, Ms. Carlyle. Several members of our team have a difficult past and they've risen above it. I'm glad you were able to do so."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue wondered if they were about to hear the sound of those two Alpha Males fighting it out somewhere outside the room... but she hoped not, beause she'd miss it and that'd be a huge downer!

At Steve she shows a soft smile and a little quick nod of her head. "Once I changed my mind, I knew I'd be done with the Brotherhood... So I used Carol's strength to tear through the 'tar' substance that had latched us together, then I took her over to the edge'a the bridge and threw her over. I honestly didn't know if she'd live the fall or not... but I knew one thing, if I left her ON the bridge with Mystique and the others in the Brotherhood? She definitely would not have lived, not even a chance of it. So thats why I tossed her."

Rogue drew in a breath then and shook her head, side to side. "After that day, Mystique wasn't too pleased with me and I wasn't too pleased with her. So I ran away from her also... Lived on the street the followin' two years, till the thoughts and minds inside'a my own were drivin' me so mad that I blacked out up in Canada... After a fight in a bar. When I woke up, I was in the Xavier's School here on the East coast. I guess Charles sensed my turmoil and he sent some'a his people t'go get me."

Captain America has posed:
Fingertips lightly tap upon the arm of the chair as he looks to her, his thoughts kept to himself though his features don't really present much of a poker face. It's clear he's empathizing, and sharing some of the understanding of what she had to do to survive and to help Carol survive as well. He listens as she mentions Xavier's school then he murmurs, "I've heard they've made a difference in the lives of many young people." Though there is perhaps a small hesitation there.
He lifts his chin a bit and then asks, "And what led you here, to us?" He smiles faintly before he adds, "You seem to fit in pretty well already. Logan speaks well of you, and Thor seems to have taken to you."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue crosses her legs at the knee and her gloved hand go atop one another ontop of her thighs then she gives Cap a big grin and a sassy little look. "Why thats the southern charm, Sugah." She replies to him with her sultry voice playing up the flirtation of her words in that style that is just all hers. "Et puis vous venez de mélanger dans une petite pincée de saveur française, et à peu près tout le monde est heureux t'have vous autour." And after speaking that in flawless French accent she just shows a little grin and a slight shake of her head as her posture slips back into a more normal style.

"I was to be married in August, to a man I didn't fully know as well as I thought I did. He had enemies, those enemies attacked him on our wedding day and well... they killed him. Or so I thought they had. Its complicated." She clears her throat softly. "That night I wasn't in a good place, and a friend of the Avengers helped me from doing something stupid. Stephen Strange?" She nodded once then. "I stayed with him for a few months before he wanted me to use my strengths where he felt they best served... doing the kinds of things you guys do here. So he's the reason I'm here, he pointed me in this direction and... here I am!"

Thor has posed:
Thor trudges into the room, his head hung low and he slumps over towards the couch like some sort of Adonis version of Snuffeluffagus. The man sits on the couch and the whole thing groans from the sudden weight on the piece of furniture and Thor grabs the remote before he turns off the Tv and sighs.

"So, you say for once I have a reason to thank the wizard? Who kneweth?" Thor chimes in.

Captain America has posed:
The older man's eyes follow her words and at the southern charm then the ever so casual offering of French he replies easily enough with a reply that, to be fair, does carry a bit of an American accent to it. "Je vois, tres bien."
He shifts on his seat and rests his hands upon the ankle of the leg that's resting over his knee. At the mention of her impending marriage he quirks an eyebrow as she explains, then almost casually mentions his death and his other eyebrow rises to match the first. A small sound of surprise is made but he doesn't comment.
Then she mentions Stephen Strange, he gives a nod. "The Sorcerer Supreme. Seems a good man, though we have only met briefly." Though there's a furrow to his brow, "That's interesting, the SHIELD files mention nothing of him." But then again that might very well be an after-effect of the arcane aspects of the Doctor.
But then he taps his fingers again on the arm of the chair before he adds, "Thank you for sharing that with me, Ms. Carlyle. Or Rogue, if I may. Will need to get used to using your codename." He leans forwards, "Here's how things are going to be for a time."
Thor saunters on in at that moment, but Cap gives a small nod to him, then refocuses on Rogue. "Oh six hundred hours the next few weeks, I'm going to be running some training exercises with the people we have on hand, though going to be focusing on the people I've not had the pleasure to work with before. We need to get a handle on your talents, your instincts, and hopefully work things together so we function better as a unit."
His eyes remain on hers and then there's that smile again, "I know it's early, but you'll get used to it."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks over to Thor when he squats down onto the sofa. "He was messin' with you, Pretty." She says at him. "I'm pretty sure thats not how it ends. And if it is? Then I'll help ya lynch him. myself."

The southerner's eyes return to Steve's and she smiles at him using French as well, which she's rather fond of hearing out of him but she'll keep that to herself, she can tell he's a military man and its pretty clear her flirty ways don't do a lot to him, that she can tell anyway!

A light nod is given to the wake-up-time. "I'm up around that time anyway. I don't sleep all that well and Carol's mind is still there... the routine she put inside'a my head about gettin' up early is there. As is all her military training, weapons, vehicles--both ground and air. STuff that freaks me out even havin' any of, but... Its gotten easier since Professor Xavier's help, then Stephen's also."

Rogue nods once at Steve again and shows a soft smile. "So I'll be wherever ya need me t'be at that hour. It sounds like fun. I'm not one for sittin' inside doin' nothing, I like t'move, like t'get my heart poundin' in my chest." And she shows a little smile again, because... its just how she is.

Captain America has posed:
The smile on Steve's features blossoms as he gains his feet. "Great, looking forward to it, Rogue." He rises and then extends his hand back towards her, offering a handshake as firm as the one before and not shying away from her display of strength at all. His eyes hold her gaze as he replies, "This was a good talk. We'll have to have more of them."
That having been said after the handshake he'll turn away and then lift a hand to wave in Thor's direction. "Alright, all done, Thor. She's all yours." He then slaps the taller man on the shoulder as they pass and gives him a nod. "Buck up, buddy. It's just a show." And after having demonstrated just how out of time a man he truly is, he heads on towards the doorway and then out into the hall.

Thor has posed:
"I will hold thee to that promise." The Thunderer says as he turns on the couch and wraps one arm around the back so that the blonde god can face the two avengers.

"Steve will make you sweat, that I can promise. He's somehow gone until each of us do. Mineself and Hulk included." Thor notes with a smirk on his lips and then a sharp nod. "I wilst be there as well. Something almost always occurs during your workouts Steve."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue returns the handshake to Steve and she gives him another little grin before she glances over at Thor and shakes her head side to side. "You want me." She says back at him. "I can see it 'thyne' eyes." She speaks in his style for a moment, not having any idea if she'd said it correctly-and she doens't care!

The teenager stands up then and moves toward the kitchen while taking her gloves off and going to the sink to wash her hands. "I'm going to make pizza tonight. I got the video queued up on my phone and bought the ingredients last night... So... this should be fun!"

Rogue the cook, look out!
