Cast of Characters: Rogue, Gambit

Rogue has posed:
With the money that Rogue is getting PAID by the Avengers to help them be a stronger team (quite literally with her powerset), the young mutant has re-enrolled herself into NYU and is back to taking classes. She's going for her teaching degree, in fact, as she's solidified her mindset on that direction... she wants to teach abroad someday, live overseas... somewhere exotic and romantic to teach, either French or English language.

As of right now though, the young mutant is sitting out in the afternoon sunlight, and since Spring is essentially here its a pretty nice day with the sun warming the grass up. In front of her she has her phone ontop of a couple of school books while her computer tablet is beside that and another book is open with a tiny paper weight keeping the pages flat.

She's got her hair tied back behind her head, but her white bangs are framing her face, a pair of dark Aviator sunglasses are on her eyes and her black leather jacket is unzipped with the sleeves pushed up to her elbows, her hands are gloved but her forearms are exposed. Her lower half is wearing a pair of blue jeans stylishly ripped down the fronts of the thighs allowing the frayed strings to give glimpses of her dangerous skin beneath it down to her knees.

Rogue is quietly humming a song that is playing on her phone's speaker, a classic 80s tune.

Gambit has posed:
The college scene has never been one for Remy. Street life doesn't leave a lot in the way of desire there beyond that fantasy ideal of the grass is greener. Really though he does not care. Nor is the thief here for Rogue, as a matter of fact he has no clue she is even here.

Remy LeBeau has been doing his own thing after fighting lizardmen in Westchester County with Jean, a few other things in there that have fallen out and left him self-absorbed.

There is a *CLAP* sound and a pair of glasses fly, skitter and hop to break in half against the pavement. "Demander grâce! It was a joke, girl. Lighten up. Don't worry your pretty face none, I be on my way." A low familiar chuckle and the Cajun is rubbing his stubble laden jaw, he is ignoring the shocked expression the young woman was giving him AFTER her slap when she finally witnesses his eyes, a mutant. That word even in the year 2025 still shocks some.

"An' here I figure nerds be having a better sense of humor." The lean bodied light hooded jacket garbed brunette is mumbling to himself, not to Rogue, not to anyone near him but loud enough it is audible. Jeans worn and ripped, a maroon shirt, a deep grey hooded jacket, not quite his usual trench as its getting warmer, those fingerless gloves, that look like they're meant for an archer and riding boots, completely with buckled straps. Typical of him to appear as out of place as he should most days.

"Well now, dis an unexpected." His words sounded out as he comes to a stop, just before those glasses that had fallen near to where Rogue is with her studious looking setup.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue was almost too lost in her own world to know that such an exchange was even going on not too far away from where she was. IF it weren't for those glasses falling just into the edge of her peripheral vision, then she may not have looked even at all. But she does glance over at them and then she looks up and over to the duo who'd created the little 'scene' with their exchange.

She didn't need any re-education courses in knowing his face, she knew it all too well. She'd learned he wasn't dead months ago and honestly, she'd come to terms with that. Rogue's been through a lot in the past half year since she left Xavier's and as such she felt like it was all behind her.

"What'd ya do?" She calls out to him. "Try t'steal a kiss?" She asked the man, not reaching for the glasses on the ground to help, cause he... its not HER problem at all.

Gambit has posed:
"Not exactly, no, we got to talking about a few things. Reptile people went to me asking if she liked Star Wars an' she said yes. So what I say? Good because I plan on doing you in Alderaan places. She suddenly not so charming anymore. You think, normally they just eat that kinda thing up." Remy reaches up and grips the lining of his hoodie rubbing his thumb around it like hes primping it up, adjusting it to look more fashionable.

"Losing my skills as I get older. These college girls a different breed."

A curious look to Rogue and his head cants to the left, avian like of a gesture, his black-red eyes doing their usual open appraisal of her before he speaks, his chin tipping up as if using it to point at her school work, "What dis? You undercover and pretending to be a productive member of society." A wry smirk appears. He can't help himself there.

Months ago dead? A clone, a doppleganger, himself or the other? Thats still some confusion. One eventually he'll figure out when he can find Sinister, even if he has to try and beat it out of that pale monster. Try a key word. Right now though...

"Seriously, why you here?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has to just grin at the man's words and punctuate that grin with a slow shake of her head back and forth, her bangs swept across her face to the right in the afternoon breezes. "Why I can't imagine why a line like that didn't have ya rushin' back to her dorm room t'get it on with her AND her room mate." She replies, still grinning, and even huffing out a little laugh as she looks down at her book once more.

When he questions her as to why she's here, she just looks back up at him and then reaches up to pull her sunglasses off of her face and let them drop down between her thighs. "I'm a student here. I have been since last fall." She then motions to the Skirball Theater building to their right across the street. "I was in there an hour ago helpin' them setup an all nude play they're doin' this weekend. Maybe you should sign up for that, seems like its your kinda thing."

Rogue looks at him again and grins at the man once more.

Gambit has posed:
"'xactly what I been sayin'." Remy chuckles, a rich thing, deep with his voice. Someone who has had a fair share of whiskey poured down their throat throughout their lifetime. "But, in all serious wit' that, she didn't like me getting to pushy about one of her professors. It's a lead and I'm working it."

"Why?" He asks seriously, the books wandered over to and he picks one up, flipping it open to skim fingers through it. "What is the point of this, huh?"

"Nude play, huh? Maybe that why." The book snaps closed. The grin she gives him gets a reactive return smile. "There you go again, givin' me that look. Making me remember why I break in to places to leave you chococlates an' silly cards."

Rogue has posed:
"Yeah..." Rogue softly says at him about his plan to seduce a student and a teacher? "Good luck with that. Really hope it works out for ya." There might be some bitterness in her voice, a lot of it maybe, and its there for likely a plethora of reasons... some obvious, some not so obvious maybe.

"And the point'a this is that I gotta have something in my life that means more than just goin' out t'bars and flirtin' with men who're gonna ghost me the moment they find out how my mutation works. I gotta have more to hold onto than the cheap moments that can't ever ammount t'nothin' because I'm damanged goods that nobody wants t'be around. I'm permanently 'Hands Off' so.... The point'a this?" She points down at the books in front of her. "Is t'give my life somethin' more than the endless hunt for 'hot ass' that you've dedicated YOUR life to." She points THEN up at him.

And then she smirks. "Oh yeah, me in a nude play is precisely what the world needs. They even play twister in the show. Imagine how well THAT would go over for the cast."

Gambit has posed:
Remy tips back on his heels to study Rogue's expression at the bitter tone in her voice, "It's this scientist, Gary Belcher or something, her professor, he in on some of the mutant-reptile men Jean and I were fighting a lil while back." As if he needs to explain that one. It's a 'read that' response.

"You ain't even old enough for bars in the states anyways, ma cherie." Remy slides a pack of Redwood cigarettes out of his jacket, popping one up in to his lips. Yeah, hes been smoking again lately, after the 'Holidays' especially the recent ones. Only so much bubblegum and toothpicks a man can chew.

"You a superhero, that doin' plenty. Thats more than reading books or teaching people whatever you plan on doing is worth. Helping, making a different." The white tube in his mouth bounces on his lip as he talks around it, not quite striking it up yet.

"It make the world a better place too, you in the nude. Dun know about that twister thing." Remy's turn to sound a little bitter-edgy but also it's without concern. Theres nobody Rogue can touch and vice versa.

Rogue has posed:
When she realizes that he's here on some kind of X-Men business, her expression softens a little and she stares at him flatly for a moment. "Oh." She quietly replies. "My apologies then." She adds before she glances over toward the teacher's offices building and her tongue's tip appears against her top lip for a second or so while she thinks. "I'd be happy t'help with that, if I can." She tells him then, her eyes returning over to his while he pulls out that cigarette which instantly makes her want one... but she's been trying to quit! So... pain.

A breath is pulled in between her lips then. "Some'a the people I met through you, hooked me up with pro ID's that say I'm twenty three... So I don't have any problems with gettin' inta bars. A sweepin' smile and a little bit'a cleavage off a low cut top and I often get me some free drinks too." She seems proud of herself over that accomplishment, as any young person would be.

"Heroin' isn't gonna last forever, Cajun." Her head shakes side to side and she starts to sit up onto her knees while stacking her things ontop of each other, biggest on the bottom. "I'm told that Avengers will inevitably outlive itself... they'll cause too much collatoral damage and not be a thing anymore, and everyone on their roster will be hated. 'Someday'." Rogue's shoulders shrug inside her jacket. "Seems like that could be true too. But hey, they're payin' me a grand a week right now, so I'm livin' it up."

Gambit has posed:
"Maybe you can. It late now, I was just gonna go break in in a few and acquire some of Professor Belcher's labwork or papers, not that I know what I am looking for." This is easier with help from the likes of Beast or Jean or really any of the other X-Men who know a lick of science babble.

"Through me, eh, good influences my people and I been, no?" Remy smirks, "Technically you a late starter at that age anyways, c'mon down south an' I'll remind you."

"Heroin' last long enough to matter we hope at least." Remy's flips a matchout striking it off his thumb and inhaling, the tip of his cigarette flaring to life. A drag taken and blown out, "This a waste of your time 'an talents, why you want to pretend to be one of them? This ain't us, Rogue."

Rogue has posed:
Another look was given to the faculty building and then back at the Cajun, to which she just shakes her head gently side to side. "Do you even know how to -find- his office?" She asks him then while stuffing her stuff back into her backpack that is already filled with OTHER stuff.

"You invitin' me to the south for some kinda refresher course on... what exactly?" She has to smirk at him then as she's upright on her knees now and starting to get her feet under her, until she's standing up and puting her backpack around to slide her arms through the straps, eyes up on him, the taller man.

"What else would you have me doin' with my time, Remy?" She asks him then. "Part'a this whole..." Her eyes look around. "College bullshit, is t'keep myself busy. I'm not even a full fledged member'a the Avengers, I'm like a 'junior' member or some bullshit... This college stuff keeps me outta trouble. I mean, if I wasn't doin' this... god only knows what kinda shit I'd get myself into."

Gambit has posed:
"Theres a directory. I'll find it eventually." Remy explains, really he didn't put a whole lot of thought in to this, his idea of what he had come here to do was a lot easier than it is turning out to be.

"Names on doors and signs." A gesture with his fingers, that matchstick burnt out flicks form his fingers to land in a nearby water fountain. At least it's not the grass or garbage, not like anyone sane drinks out of those either.

"Depends on what you need a course on." The Cajun flirts back casually even, it's kneejerk for him.

"That a loaded question, Rogue, you an' I both know this." There is a tendril of smoke that furls in and blows out, lingering in the air in a heavy gather, "You know, the X-Men not keeping me real busy an' it sounds like the Avengers ain't doing that for you none either. Maybe we can help one another out, idle hands and the devil's work kinda thing. This reptile thing, it nasty, someones messing with mutant genetics tryin' to do something. Leaves these people all messed up an' if this guy know anything, he gonna spill."

"Well, you ain't ever going to see me going to no college because I'm restless and trying to stay out of trouble. I probably just up and get in the trouble."

"Not judging though, you do you, dame de mon coeur."

Rogue has posed:
While the man is talking about trying to search for a teacher inside the multi-story building she just shakes her head and approaches him with her tablet computer coming up while she works at something on it. "Here..." She says then whilst searching for the teacher in-question. "I can find all his info usin' the student body app."

While searching for him she's grinning lightly at some of what he says, the flirtatious parts... as much as the man enrages her and makes her lose her mind when she sees him... being him... he also drives her crazy in other ways, ways she's not prepared to still admit.

"Here." She says finally then and offers the 'ipad' over for him to look at it. "He's on the second floor, eastern hallway. Office 2D."

While/if Remy stares the computer in her hand, she stares at the side of his face. "I've found that my idle hands can be pretty damn entertainin'." She says back at him in a moment of return flirt, her lower pitched huskied voice making that quite obvious, because... well... she's weak willed when it comes to that.

"But, tons 'nd tons'a trouble." Rogue then smirks at him. "And you're on college grounds right now, dummy... and on the verge'a gettin' yourself inta trouble, by the sounds'af it too."

Gambit has posed:
"Well that awful useful." Remy admits at the location find quick enough. "Maybe I'm all in de wrong here."

The cigarette is plucked out of his mouth, held off to the side as he taps at the ipad with a fingertip, zooming in on Belcher's office. "I imagine that be uh... " A look over her and beyond, towards the second floor, "There. I can get in from other side, it less eyes on it." A swipe to the side and he flicks the image away just to muss up whatever else she might have pulled up, obnoxious like that sometimes.

"Saved me some time, means you bought yourself some. Smart girl." Remy smiles, lips curling, "Always knew you more an' just a gorgeous... " That thought not finished as he looks past her at one of the roaming security guards.

"Trouble here? Only the best kind. You see what counts for safety. I be okay."

"That one only come out this way ever three hours, that a lot of window for me to be in an' out without a soul knowin'."

Rogue has posed:
That cigarette of his is plucked out of his hand after he taps the embers off the tip of it, she grabs it from him and then lifts it up to place it between her lips while her eyes go over toward the building that Remy's apparently scouting and then she shakes her head and plucks the cigarette back out to let a stream of smoke wisp its way out of her mouth, carried off by the breezes pushing her white bangs back across her ears.

"I can fly ya up t'the window if ya'd like." She looks over at him and shows a faint smile. "Easier then climbin' and if we can do it when the street is clear we can just hop inside. Or... we just walk in the front doors and use my student ID to get us a little bit of leeway in wanderin' the teacher's halls. I got a few teachers who're pretty friendly with me, I can just tell folks I'm there t'see them."

"And yeah, I'm a lot more than just gorgeous." She states in a sly tone. "I'm full'a surprises that -you- ain't even ever seen."

Gambit has posed:
"That a bad habit you know, between the two of us we got to pick our vices an' separate them out evenly." One of those growing smirks appearing again, the sides of his lips curling one always before the other. Crooked yet handsome. Remy in a nutshell.

"Flyin' takes all the fun outta it but why not, already spent more time at this than I figured I would have." He admits despite hiself, "Not that runnin' in to you isn't something else." His mouth opening only to close, realizing hes already missing his cigarette but he isn't about to complain, idle hands require their activity of all sorts, "That... that can work too. You just full of making things easy for me tonight, what am I going to owe you? That be the real question here." He slides his fingers up through his hair pushing it back before motioning with both hands in a wave towards the building, "Lead on, an if I ain't seen these surprises already, maybe we really are in need of a refresher. I up an thought I knew everything about you, guess some things be changing these days. Like you being an Avenger, big leagues and all."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has to grin at the man and shake her head softly side to side. "Alright, well... I'll get ya inta the place easy peasy... and even help ya get back out. IF anyone catches us, well.." Rogue reaches into her pocket and pulls out her AVENGERS ID badge. "This pretty much absolves me of most things, since people around here in the city know we're one'a the only things keepin' all the super powered a-holes outside the walls, so t'speak." A little arrogant grin is shown.

"I'll let ya take me out t'dinner some time, your treat, thats how you'll owe me." She gives him another little grin before she puts her gloves onto her hands and then turns toward the building across the street. "Come on then, Cajun. Lets go get your mission finished, just make sure Jean knows it was me who did all the -heavy lifting-."
