Synopsis: Natasha brings an item to Fitz for investigation.
Cast of Characters: Leo Fitz, Black Widow (Romanoff)

Leo Fitz has posed:
It's later. Most people with any good sense would be sleeping. Not that people don't know that there's always someone on duty. So as Fitz looks up and notices you there, likely having been there for an indeterminate amount of time since he can get absorbed in his work and you can be as sneaky as a sneaky mcsneakerton, that he simply blinks a moment. "Ahh...Agent Romanov." At least he doesn't look exceptionally terrified. The only true way to tell that he got caught unawares was the bobble on his clipboard. He pulls it forward, slidign to it. "Ahh I see you're here for your appoint....wait, you don't have an appointment." Yup, he looks at the pad and then back to you. "Ok I give up. What can I do for you Agent Romanov?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I've got something I want looked at," Natasha admits as she continues to stand as had been for about eight minutes. She had been waiting to see if the agent ever noticed her. When he didn't she found herself a bit amused and opted to wait it out. If there was an attack on the lab, they were done for if he was the only one expected to protect the place. Of course, that wasn't why he was there. He was there to do the science stuff that was far beyond anything she could begin to comprehend. There were security measures in place for the other.

She lays a small tube on the table. It looks like a mix of a lead pipe and a lightsaber. "We think this is one of the Boom Tubes that Darkseid used to invade Earth. We want to see if you can figure it out."

Leo Fitz has posed:
"You think it's a television? Seems an odd shape for that," he says, making a joke about a boob tube, not a 'Boom Tube' as he looks at it, before he lifts it up. "You have failed me for the last time," he says, swinging it once before he realizes what he's doing and he sets the lightsaber looking device down again. "Well...we can run a bit of spectral imaging on it, some testing to verify the composition. It shouldn't take too long to figure out if what you brought back is something from outer space, or just a really cool toy," he says, grinning, before he clarifies. "Not that science is a toy, or this." Though you think you hear something about Kenobi and 'only hope' whispered from him as he grabs his goggles and moves the device over to what looks like a plain table before he flips it on and instantly data is floating above the object which can be spun and moved and turned...virtually at least.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
As he prattles on, Natasha crosses her arms and just looks at him. Without saying a word. She barely even blinks. Until he starts quoting Star Wars then a brief arching of her left eyebrow can be seen before she forces herself to speak. "It's no rush really. If it's a Boom Tube, it will give us access too Apokolips. Maybe we can get a little playback for their invasion of Earth." Then she gives a dark sort of smile as she shrus. "Or at least to do some recon work, find out more about them. Something a bit more my speed than all out warfare."
She glances around as he works, perusing a few items on a nearby table then walking over for a closer look. At least she doesn't touch. That would probably be bad with some of the things in this room.

Leo Fitz has posed:
He is moving his fingers over the data pad in his hand in much the same way you move your fingers over people's bones or your weaponry - you just know what to do without even having to look. "Huh..." he says as he looks back to the pad and then turns the device around and you can see the light on the table change to a reddish sort as the data switches from what is obviously one set of numbers to another. "Well that's interesting," he says and as he continue saround you can hear those sorts of completely interested and completley unuseful information.

"Well," he says. "I have to tell you. You have found the most interesting jack lift on the face of planet Earth," he explains. "This...judging by the gears, the amount of automotive oil, and the viscosity of fluids found inside was the way you would lift a hydraulic jack at a gas station so that it could lift a car. And that's all it was....for the most part...until something else got a hold of it. And that is why I can tell you without question that it is not a Boom Tube." Of course, as he's saying this he appears to be moving for one of the plastic boxes used to quarantine something.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
The earns a frown from Natasha ans she looks up from the gadgets she was admiring. "Seriously? I am going to kill him," she mutters under her breath. Apparently whoever gave it to her is going to be paying the price for their ignorance. Since now it seems to be hers.

Then she realizes where he is taking it as the words click. "Until...?" That's a quarantine box. That can't be a good sign. She was wearing gloves but. "Is this something I should be concerned about now?"

Leo Fitz has posed:
"Probably not," he says, in a way that leaves the door totally open for at least the possibility you should be concerned. He puts the lid over the top of the box and then slides it off slowly so that it lands into the rolling tray next to the table which the containment unit sits neatly on. HE clicks it into place and says, "The composition of the other half was lacking somethign commonly found on Earth in well, just about everything," he explains. "Carbon," he tells you. "Its mass also increased three times during the examination. These two things allow me to conclude with absolute certainty that whatever it is, is not from this world and is quite possibly alive." Certainly possibly. "As in growing. Which hopefully may not be a big deal but is something better suited for another lab, and perhaps for Simmons to poke around at when she wakes up."

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood you." Maybe it was the accent. Natasha couldn't have heard what she thought. "It's alive? And growing?"

Things are just getting worse by the second. She wonders if she should kill it. But it's a piece of metal so how can she? He doesn't seem ruffled by this which might be the scariest part. What in the world do they encounter in this lab that /this/ isn't alarming?

Leo Fitz has posed:
"Growing may not be the right word. It....well the amount it changed was barely registerable. It's more that it...is increasing its mass. Imagine when you work out. You get stronger, but you don't get any taller. Your muscles simply gain the density to be useful at the asskickery in which you so notably excel," he explains. "This...by getting heavier but neither longer nor wider, means that it's getting more dense. That may simply be a chemical adaptation to something in the air or something in the alian material. Or it may be somethign growing at a measurable rate but for an unknown duration before it is ready. So that means that at some point, it may be done but we have no idea of knowing why or when. It could develop itself to be as heavy as Thor's hammer but sty the samesize...or it could split open and we find out it's the alian version of an egg."

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Egg. She was fine until then. The fact he is so calm about this is reassuring. And creepy.

"I see." Natasha doesn't really but she isn't going to let on otherwise.

"I will leave this in your capable hands then? Please forward any reports to me as things...progress." She almost said hatch.

Leo Fitz has posed:
"Where did you say you got this again?" He is filling out some of the information even as another lab tech is coming over to take the item into storage and likely for transport for a larger medical facility with mor esignificant equipment capable of handling this. It's a fair question, even if it's one you possibly never intend to answer. Still...he walks over to his desk again, settig the notepad down and taking out a bottle of water and his lunch. "You did the right thing bringing that by. Would have likely been a right mess if wahtever it was suddenly decided to just...explode while you were on your bike."

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
She actually answers the question, perhaps surprising him. "Some agents were doing a sweep of a building that had been destroyed during the Apokoilps invasion, to clear it for clean up and rebuilding. They found that. Asked me to bring it by as they finished up." She is so very glad that ntohing exploded while she was transporting it. That would've ruined Nat's day, if she had survived the experience. As things stood, she was feeling like a decontamination shower. Just in case.

Her phone rings and she reaches into her pocket, drawing it out and touching the screen. "If you will excuse me." She heads for the door, putting the phone to her ear on the way out.
